Location was perfect for a very short taxi ride to cruise terminals, and it was a short walk from bus station. Breakfast was perfect for the days start.

I like the location of the hotel.

Unfortunately there was renovation of the exterior walls was underway, so drilling and the like could be heard from early morning.

The room was clean and bed comfortable. Good price.

There is no plug socket near the mirror to see when blow-drying hair. The plug sockets are next to the table which is nowhere near the mirror. Also, the breakfast had quite a lot that needed topping up.

Window could not close fully at the top, could hear noisy young people outside macdonalds. Room 208.

The drug users hanging around the front of the building nor the drinkers using the breakfast area for vodkas in the evening. Seemed that the hotel is dual use. Social housing and some guests. There were also rats around the bin areas. We heard them and saw two.

Good location saved us from getting a late night ferry back to the isle of Wight after the theatre. Easy quick check in and out. Comfortable and clean.

Didn’t like the lack of choice and it was only a cold selection. The area were you ate the food was untidy and didn’t look clean.

The property was very very basic

There was rats at night outside the building as we were facing onto what looked like a jungle, no maintenance at all. We faced on to the McDonald’s drive through which was very loud at night.

Arrived before check-in time, hoping the staff might mind my case for a few hours, but they let me check in early without any fuss. Very friendly and professional

The room. I needed a room for three adults, how could my son sleep over the top of us so two of us sleep in the other hotel

Dreadful room, crammed a bunkbed above your head, literally. Careful you don't hit your head, I did several times. £103 for one night, never again.

The staff were very kind understanding of our disappointment. And apologized for having to rescue us from drunk and drug affected, council residents, that are 'living ' in the hotel. The staff were obviously embarrassed having to apologize to paying, guests of this situation. They were very polite when I reported my missing luggage, made a note and apologized. Nothing else could be done.

I booked a triple room with three single beds. This hotel doesn't have this . So I had to sleep ON THE FLOOR!!. I had to collect cups and a kettle after checking in. They are not automatically supplied due to THEFT. Somehow, some property was STOLEN, either from the room or when I was trying to get cases from the carpark while being HASSLED by druggy RESIDENTS. I took my granddaughter down half hour before the end of breakfast. There was NOTHING LEFT . Residents 'FILL-UP ' was the reason given. I had a hungry , upset 5 yr old .

Stay here before and after the cruise, walking distance to the port. Very close to train and bus station, market and restaurants are just around the corner. Staffs are super nice and friendly.

AC doesn’t work, but with the window open and the fan on. It was fine! Space is limited, nowhere to have two open luggage.

Decor of the room could perhaps be described as "modern prison cell." No carpet, no shelves or cupboards, only a plastic stool to sit on. And no separate bathroom: wash basin and shower were just in the corner of the bedroom. I guess that is "budget" but I expected slightly better for the price, which was only marginally less than Travelodge, Premier Inn etc for the date of my stay. I shall avoid Ibis Budget in future (I really like Ibis Styles, though!)

Basic hotel, staff not very helpful. Said they couldn't guarantee luggage storage due to guests checking out. Apparently former guests get preferred treatment over those waiting to check in. Rooms around were noisy, as was road noise through the window of the room.

It was near where we wanted to be and exceedingly cheap. Seen some reviews stating shall we say undesirable guests. But didn’t see any of that. The girl on reception was friendly and helpful.

Not much to say really it is what it is. A place to sleep.

The air conditioner wasn't really working and leaked water onto the floor all night. The room was too hot. The light switch for the bathroom was broken. Card readers and door locks outside the room were broken. Most of the breakfast food had run out before we got there.

Close to the things we needed

There was screaming and shouting at the hotel throughout the night. We rang reception but the noise continued. Until another guest came out of their room to tell the person to stop it. We felt unsafe and uncomfortable and had booked it to be closer to an activity the following day to avoid a long drive. But we hardly slept so it was a waste of money. We’ve contacted the hotel since and haven’t had any reply.

Would have like a proper upgrade felt more like a downgrade things looked broken and why was I put in a disabled room when me and partner not disabled was very weird.

Said I had a room upgrade and was put into a disabled room which looks very run down and not very clean. Very disappointed.

I don't like the bath room design. I was lucky that go holiday with my 2 daughters. The bathroom just only able to bath,no place for you hang the cloth. Right Infront the bathroom have mirrors. I just feel very uncomfortable to let my children's see my naked body and also big mirror Infront.If they can install a curtain outside the bathroom,will be better.

Easy twenty minute walk to the Ocean Cruise Terminal with our carry on luggage. The window opened to a view of the parking area which was quiet. The room was not carpeted so it was very clean with no odours or allergens. Good water pressure, reliable internet, and a very comfortable bed. It had everything we needed for two nights including a kettle, iron and ironing board when we asked at the front desk. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The room was exactly as shown in their photos. We walked to a shopping mall, restaurants, museums and other attractions.

There was only one hook to hang our wet towels. Additional hooks for towels and hanging clothing would be a plus.

An ideal location for both the city centre and docks, the hotel. Rooms are basic (reflected in the budget price), however clean and comfortable.

During my stay the hotel was surrounded by scaffolding and I was woken early by a range of machine tools working right outside my bedroom window!

We were spending one night in Southampton before going on a cruise the next morning so the location close to cruise termina was ideal. Hotel is basic but it was all we needed. and was good value for location.

The Ships so near... Excellent

Just it was close to port

Where do I start, I booked 4 rooms, 3 of them had poor A/C cooling, we asked staff at reception, a guest ( we assumed he is a local) came in the room as well to check. The receptionist said the cooling is ok, but all night we could not sleep, and the fan was too small to cool the room. Also 1hr before check out the cleaner kicked us of the room. When we confronted the reception staff, she said no, no, you still have time, you can go back up, it’s because the cleaner is foreign and she can’t communicate well. I am sorry that is not an excuse. I asked for a cot for my 1 year old. The hotel asked me to bring linen from home! And when we opened the cot we found not mattress!

It was nice and close to the cruise ports and also plenty shopping around.

Rooms were a bit stuffy with no air con and the fan provided didn't do alot.
