Dinner was not to my liking

Good location. Close to railroad and coach stations. Several supermarkets and the city center. Fridge and safe in the room

Breakfast too poor. Bad coffee for breakfast. No airconditioner.

Personel was very nice and helpful (thank you Catherine) Room was okay but hot ... but we had a fan - the best solution as rooms don't have AC. We had dinner first evening at the Hotel and it was tasty and,very important, parking place near the Hotel

carpet in the room (tapis plain) but this seems to be normal in UK

Location is great if your’re cruising

Blood stained bed and other horrors. Stay away, get better hotel and an uber. We wanted to be close to the terminal and it was not worth it. Room is small, interior looks very old and dirty. We requested baby crib on the day of the reservation, but did not have it in the room. I asked for it and it was DIY, staff told us they don’t know how to unfold it. We also got no pillow or blanket for it.

I really loved the staff in this hotel, how open and welcoming it is from the moment you walk in. The bed was super comfy and I appreciated the bath immensely! The rituals soaps were lovely too. I ordered my breakfast to my room and was so happy with the quality and service.

My phone didn't work so I couldn't order room service late night and on the WhatsApp chat, no one replied. But honestly that's it, I will stay again!

The Novotel has captured clientele due to the frequency and volume of cruise travellers that leave from the cruise terminal within walking distance. It doesn’t have to do much for its guests - it operates on a high turnover. The rooms are very basic, we had to ask for towels. The shower in the bath is extremely dangerous particularly for a lot of the elderly clientele.

The toilet and taps were not working in our room so in order to use the toilet and wash we had to go down 4 floors and use the communal toilets on the ground floor.

Property was very tired. Not clean - hairs on bed, in the bathroom and in toilet. Couldn’t shut the door to the toilet as not enough room.

I booked primarily for its location as I was taking my daughter on a cruise holiday and it turned out to be a very lucky choice we both loved the very friendly atmosphere and staff and we had dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning both meals were excellent and very good value for money I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone

5 minutes walk (easy with lots of luggage) to Southampton Central Station. Welcoming and accommodating staff. Comfortable lobby and waiting areas. Our rooms had pull-out couch which was helpful for having our child have her own bed. Only comfortable for a small child though.

Water drainage in bathtubs is very slow. (We know it wasn't a one off because we booked 3 rooms and all 3 had issues.) Would not recommend pull-out couch fort adults, not comfortable. Awkward layout of room limiting ability to open windows all the way, which is essential for letting in fresh air when rooms aren't equipped with air conditioning. Despite fans, still a bit warm in the room. Traveled in September.

Easy to find right near the train station. We were staying overnight before picking up a hire car nearby the following day so very convenient! Rooms were lovely and clean.

Happy with everything. We only stayed one night as we were getting a cruise ship the next day, excellent location to the port would use this hotel again .

Swimming pool small, embarrassing situation when staff walked me back to reception to verify that we paid for breakfast. Felt Embarrassed and Very, Very Uncomfortable this is bad behaviour you better change that method.

No air conditioning in the room the room was exceptionally hot . There was a fan that this thing squeak the whole night. And if you wanted the window open this means you had to have the curtains wide open. There was a police station opposite throughout the night had flashing lights going off in the room.

Lifts were very tiny and packed during check out. Luggage storage could have been promoted better as I found out by another guest.

Staff were friendly, the room was clean and spacious, good breakfast selection.

No air conditioning, the room was too hot, a shower head to fill the bath not the best and took a long time.

Perfect location, parking on site (£12 a night when we stayed), lovely breakfast. The pool was a lovely extra (small but still lovely). We would stay again happily.

It’s about time they fixed the Air Conditioning. The hotel is in need of a re fit.

Love hotel rooms where mordant size for a family of 4

I only thing that let the stay down was no air conditioning in the room. Which ment we have to leave the window open. This was not ideal as there was a lot of night traffic which made it even harder to sleep.

Location is good. It is a walkable distance or a short cab ride to the West Quay Mall. It is close to the cruise terminal. The hotel is decent, dont expect luxury.

The location was fabulous for getting on the cruise ships. A 5 minute walk.

The bedrooms are a little tired looking. And no a/c in the rooms.

**Very disappointing experience** The bathroom sink got clogged, and when I called reception, the response from the staff member was very unprofessional. It felt as though he was doing us a favour rather than helping a guest. Later, another staff member came to fix it but was unable to resolve the issue. The bathroom was left smelling badly, and when we asked for another room, she initially said the hotel was fully booked and told us to manage with the situation. We ended up wasting almost an hour, which completely disrupted our plans. We were so frustrated that we decided to look for another hotel. Only then did another staff member arrange a different room for us, which was very confusing because we had previously been told that the hotel was full. On top of this, there was no air conditioning, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Overall, a very poor experience. The biggest disappointment was not just the maintenance issue, but the way the staff handled the situation and communicated with us. I would expect much better service and customer care from a hotel.

The location is very nice for the cruise terminal that we were at and the bottom floor of the hotel is nice and clean and the bar staff were lovely, the room itself was clean no issues on cleanliness.

The room itself was a bit disappointing for the price paid, I would assume the sink would be in the same part of the lavatory to save having to walk with dirty hands, the room had no air con and it was a very hot day (not under your control) but the fan provided really did not help and the windows cannot open fully only partial so a very uncomfortable night and not a lot of sleep. The sofa bed was rather uncomfortable aswell, I feel for the price I did not get my money's worth

The reception checking in process was smooth and efficient. Rooms clean with ideal seperate toilet and shower rooms. Plenty of tea /coffee in room as well as complimentary water. Nice to have a safe too. Bar and dining facilities were top drawer too. Most importantly, literally 5 minute drive to cruise terminal.

Only down side was £12 parking charge, but I guess that's the council decision

Location was excellent for disney cruise. Lovely view of the port. Swimming pool was definitely a bonus. Close to McDonald's so didn't pay for breakfast. Staff friendly and informative. Bathroom was modern, decent products supplied.

I know there is a fan in your room but it was very warm. Bit noisy if you have a car park view but we did have the window open.

It's ideally located. The room was clean. The staff were very friendly.

There's no Air Con and it was 30 degrees outside. Fans were provided, but it was too hot to sleep. The shower also leaked onto the floor due to a missing chunk of sealant on the screen. The bar tables and the outdoor seating weren't very clean. It's a fair hotel, reasonably priced and served its purpose, but it is very basic.

Like our last review the Novotel is in a great location. Rooms a decent size and good to have a couch. Beds also comfy. We changed rooms as the bath is too high and was difficult to get in and out for my husband to use the shower. Reception were great to find us a room that had a separate shower (still pretty high off the floor) and at the back overlooked Police Station. Plus ask for a rubber bath mat, as they are a must.

No wifi in Room 302 - and gathering same in all the end rooms, so a tip to watch your data if you are from overseas. We nearly used all of ours up on our roaming plan and didn't work it out until out 4th day!!! The walls are just so thick its hard to get reception!!

For the first stay of 2 nights we had a room at the back of the property that overlooked the police station. It was quiet and pleasant. There was a separate shower plus a bath. The room wasn't as large as others we have stayed at in the past. Location is great - 10 min walk to West Quay and not far from the cruise terminals.

A bit small and the bed crammed in. Rooms need a refresh i.e. new curtains/carpets!!! But staff always nice.

L'amabilité du personnel même si celui-ci ne parlait pas un mot de français. Nous avons apprécié les services notamment la piscine et l'espace salon. La chambre était très correcte pour le prix.

Les accessoires un peu vieillissants et le prix du parking.
