Sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Überall Schimmel in der Dusche. Rostflecken an Metallverstrebungen. Gesprungene Glasscheibe im Bad. Die Lobby so alt, zerschlissenes LederSofas und Sessel. Kein Koffer-Service, kein Taxiservice. Und dann dennoch 350€ die Nacht. Und ich habe schon Monate früher gebucht.. kurzfristiger wäre es noch teurer geworden

Proximity to everything in manhattan as well as Times Square. The lobby was also very nice and aesthetic.

Room didn’t feel the cleanest it was also very tight and cramped and not the most comfortable. Bathroom door was very hard to open once you closed and locked it.

My service dog felt like home. Every staff member was beyond excellent from the front desk personal to the cleaning staff. Thank you for such an amazing hospitality. Draco and I are very grateful, blessings.

It was in a great location and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve had in a hotel ever. The round glitter ball bath was an added bonus especially after all the walking to soak those aching legs

It was quite dark in the foyer and there were no refreshment facilities either in the room or available in the hotel. We were offered a bottle of water as we arrived and there was an excellent diner, coffee shop and Irish bar with good within a few doors of the hotel.

Friendly staff. Comfy bed. Nice bedding. Bathroom renovated in last few yrs and quite large.

Hotel is overall gloomy and in need of a renovation. Lobby area, hallways, bedrooms. TV in room had only five channels and no cable. Desk and sofa in room had seen better days

The bed didn’t look like a queen bed it was too small for my husband . He is more than 6 feet tall

Smell of sweat in the lobby. No bar, no restaurants no water in the room, not even any cups or glasses or facilities to make tea or coffee. Really poor standard. Had to ask reception daily for water. Hotel is very dated & smells appallingly of sweat in the reception area. Not worth the money at all. Wouldn’t recommend

The staff was so attentive and positive, it was very refreshing. The room size was great, especially for NY, the bathrooms looked renovated and the bed was comfortable. The location is also great, the higher floors are very quiet.

Other than water being given there was nothing in the rooms, no glasses, no coffee maker nothing, that's a bit odd. The fan was very loud especially at night, it was hard to regulate.

The hotel is situated in midtown Manhattan, making all mayor sights very accessible by under 15 minutes of walking through the City. There are multiple train lines available under 5 minutes of walking. The front desk personnel were one of the friendliest I have ever experienced! The room was extremely spacious. Moreover, there was a small technical defect in our room. Upon notifying the staff, immediate action was taken and were profoundly apologized to. On W43rd st., less than 1 minute away, there is a valet service parking garage available for $70 a day. The hotel lobby is absolutely stunning. The room itself is designed in a revivalist art-deco style, for which I have great appreciation.

The room itself has seen better days. There are above acceptable stains on the furniture and carpet. The elevators are relatively small, though running frequently. The overall infrastructure in the room is very dated, not something you would expect from a 5-star hotel.

I'm not sure what is going on at this hotel but DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The condition of the lobby should have tipped me off but we were travel weary after flight cancellations. Check in was a tiny window like you would expect at a train station! And the employee was dressed in leggings and a t-shirt. At 5:00pm the lobby was dark, dirty, empty and bar looked as though it had been closed permanently. The room was only half carpeted - the rest just concrete. One of the upholstered chairs was broken. After a few minutes we decided we were not going to sleep there and went down to ask to be refunded. They refused, even after a few later attempts to be reimbursed. $555.00 This hotel may have been used as an immigrant shelter or something - beware.

It’s very sad to see a gorgeous hotel slipping into disrepair. This place is was super chic, and the interiors that were once the epitome of style, are bruised, torn, and sad. You can’t still see some or the Steve Rubell charm here and there but the beautiful lobby is empty. No working restaurant and a depressing empty, non-open bar. The carpet in my room was torn and stained, the mattress has more potholes than a Philadelphia expressway, and the seating looks like Rocky in Rocky 4. That said, there is still some gorgeousness leftover, the staff was helpful and prompt, and my room was clean… albeit like an addict that has gone sober.

I had a very good stay at Royalton NY. The staff is excellent! Everyone was extremely friendly and always willing to help, which was a refreshing contrast to the upscale hotel where the conference I attended was held. The room was comfortable, and the cleanliness throughout my stay was great. The location is also wonderful, with very easy access to the main tourist attractions and the metro. I also loved how close the hotel was to Grand Central Terminal (beautiful historic landmark in itself!), as well as to the New York Public Library. As I said, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel. It delivers exactly what it promises, which I really appreciated.

Property is extremely outdated. Stains on the carpet, couch, & head board. We left 10 minutes after checking in.

I needed to be near Bryant Park and it was very conveniently located. I was able to get to the theater and the museum is very easily.

It’s a very old hotel. Which is no fault of the property. He could spend more time shampooing carpets in the room. I know, you get what you pay for.

The Royalton Hotel on W. 44th St. is advertised as a 4 star NYC Hotel. I used Booking.com and notified them the Royalton does not provide ANYTHING but a good bed and 2 water bottles. NO PARKING. NO FOOD of any kind (no restaurant, not even a snack shop, no breakfast…No lobby coffee, not even coffee in room. Staff is nice but previously glorious lobby has torn furniture. I’ve stayed in better 3 star NYC hotels. COVID likely killed this hotel. I hate writing bad reviews. My room was nice and had a BALCONY which needed concrete repair. Couldn’t even open closet doors due to weird, old, loose handle. Could have found a nicer full service midtown hotel with or without a balcony for less money and maybe parking and a breakfast TO BUY.

The hotel room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of outlets and some USB ports. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was very convenient for us, and it was cool to see the Algonquin Hotel across the street.

The shower took quite a while to warm up; for a while I was afraid there was no hot water. Even on a high floor, there was quite a lot of street noise. The elevators were small and made some nerve-wracking noises.

The double bed rooms were a great size, especially in New York terms. staff was attentive. if we needed something, like last minute room cleaning; it got done , and done well. Thank you Royalton

there was a slight odor in the bathroom; we had to buy room spray to mask the smell. thats about it.

very comfy bed, super helpful desk staff -- i was unhappy with my initial room assignment, so i said something to the front desk staff and they moved me without hesitation to a much nicer room.

the hotel just needs a renovation. overall, i enjoyed my stay, but i wasn't in my room that much...

The only hotel in our global 4 month trip (45 hotels) where we didn’t have a kettle / coffee machine in our room. The hotel is quite dated and in need of an upgrade - particularly given how expensive it is. Construction noise nearby is very loud. Had to request a room move. Windows are thin and let a lot of noise in.

The service was exceptional. They let us check in early and upgraded our room to a suite. The location was perfect, especially if you are new to NYC and have never visited and want to see the true touristy things. We only stayed for one night and loved the art deco vibe. The property is definitely old, but our room was clean and it kind of felt like we were transported back to the 70’s so we had fun with it.

This place must have been lovely in its heyday. The long, dim, sunken lounge that traverses 43rd to 44th. The old, stuffed brown leather couches that no one has sat in since they closed the bar and restaurant during covid and haven’t re-opened. The tight, tidy, wood-paneled elevators that creak and grind on their way up and down. The ship-like corridors with rounded portal opaque room numbered windows. Now, it’s simply passé. Our room, out of the forties or fifties, looked out on a brick wall. No amenities to speak of. No coffee machine. A small fridge that didn’t work. Some strange flickering lighting. Guess you get what you pay for. Otherwise, it’s in a great location. Just between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. A couple of blocks to Bryant Park. A couple of blocks to the Theater District. Zucker’s Bagels is across from the park, as is a large Whole Foods. Macy’s, H and M, Nordstrom Rack, so shopping galore. The Algonquin is right across the street if you need a little elegance and a nice meal. The people working in the ghostly downstairs reception area were lovely and helpful. Make sure to go see Titanique! Brilliant!

This hotel is in a central and walkable location to Times Square/Broadway shows, the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza/Radio City Music Hall, Grand Central Station, MOMA, etc. The staff were friendly and offered great suggestions about nearby places and things to do. The guests rooms are clean and comfortable. The lobby is large with ample seating for gathering and resting before a new adventure. I will stay here again.

Location and the staff were great! My room was fine, the toilet was swanky!

It was dark in the room, which I like when sleeping but not when I arrive at night and I'm trying to work things out. There were lights but not enough of them and no main light at the door. The lack of windows allowing natural light didn't help. The bed was a little too soft for me (personal preference). The gym was ok but some of the machines didn't work.

Property was in a good location and the staff was friendly upon check in and check out.

I was put in a room right off of the elevators and the room itself didn’t seem very clean. Unfortunately, there were some stains and a couple holes in the sheets.

There was only one entrance as the back side on 43rd street was locked. Taxis and ubers as well as myself got confused of the entrance and ended up at the back door to only have to walk around the entire block to get in. Perhaps could have a room key allow you to unlock that door.

I was in shock. I used to do many business networking meetings at The Royalton. It was the place to be! The hotel lobby is HUGE and used to be wall-to-wall people. Now?? The place is a ghost town! They never opened the bars or restaurant after COVID, so it's like I was in the hotel alone. All of the chairs are beat up and worn. No ramp for accessibility. No doormen greeting you and opening doors. The hotel rooms used to be luxurious. Now, they're just sad. Not even a coffeemaker. Wastebaskets, sinks, tile, etc are chipped, broken, and rundown. So sad.

When the hotel first opened —back in the original Philippe Stark design days— it was a real “buzz” of a place and a HOT HOT cocktail location. The lobby os now dark and dull.

Il n’y avait pas de machine à café, il n’y avait aucun verres pour boire de disponible. Il fallait demander à la réception et il nous envoyait les gens de l’entretien venir les porter. Le lendemain, quand j’ai fait nettoyer ma chambre, ils ont ramassé les verres et ils ne les ont pas remplacés. Il n’y a aucun service de nourriture ou de bar dans l’établissement. Par contre lorsqu’on sort de l’hôtel, tout est vraiment à proximité. Les chambres sont beaucoup moins luxueuses qu’elles apparaissent sur les photos. J’ai réservé une chambre avec un lit Queen, mais malheureusement j’ai eu une chambre avec un lit double et le matelas était très mou.

De ligging is absoluut wat het meest aantrekkelijk is aan deze accommodatie en dat met een goede prijs. Tevens is het schoon en de kamer is relatief ruim voor new yorkse begrippen.

Het hotel is gedateerd en voelt alsof het wacht op een update. Dit is mede te zien aan de bar die er maar verlaten bij ligt. Een update zal echter ook vast een hele andere prijs betekenen, want de locatie is dat zeker waard.

The staff are extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is well located, close to many key attractions and convenient spots in the area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and housekeeping is provided daily, with fresh towels and amenities regularly replenished.

The hotel itself would benefit from refurbishment, as the lobby furnishings appear visibly outdated. There is also a lack of key services such as room service, a bar, and a restaurant, which would typically be expected in a hotel of this type. As it stands, the property feels more like a private residence rather than a full-service hotel. Additionally, the absence of in-room coffee facilities—or even a coffee machine available elsewhere in the hotel—is notable, as this is generally considered a basic standard.

Great room--very large and attractive. Also a fantastic, central location yet quiet.
