I can't thank Kevin, the Assistant General Manager, enough for helping with all our concerns, answering all our questions, and making the whole experience worry-free. The location was perfect for my purposes, as the hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the office. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff are welcoming. Would definitely stay again when in San Francisco

Muy bien situado para visitar el centro de SF, las camas de la habitación normal son muy pequeñas mejor reservar cama grande, nosotros tuvimos un problema con el ruido de madrugada por alguna maquinaria del hotel y al día siguiente enseguida nos dieron otra habitación. En ese sentido perfecto.

Un poco anticuado, algunas mejoras pero no suficientes para que este moderno.

The room does not look clean and looks nothing like the photo that was online. The curtain itself was dirty, the corners were dirty, and the conditions of the room were overall very subpar. The door hinge was faulty.

La struttura è in una buona posizione, vicino ai mezzi di trasporto e facile da raggiungere dall’aeroporto. L’ingresso molto carino e il personale era gentile. Ottimo il check out alle ore 12:00 invece che alle 11:00 come la maggior parte degli altri hotel. Offrono caffè la mattina per tutti i clienti. Il bagno della camera era ristrutturato anche se piccolo.

La struttura è un po’ datata anche se rimane comunque ben curata. La nostra stanza era veramente troppo piccola, l’aria condizionata vecchia ed aveva una zanzariera rotta. Poco insonorizzata, si sentono rumori sia dal corridoio che dalla strada. Va bene per una notte ma non di più.

The location was great, staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed here 30 years ago and it's so much nicer than it was then. Lots of luxury touches, very clean. Comfortable bed and very nice towels. Full sized shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the shower.

At first, the hallway seemed dark and a little sketchy. Some of the window trim was pretty banged up. Remind yourself that the building is over a century old, and those things just come with an old building.

Great location. Lovely and friendly staff who looked after me really well. All facilities were in good working order.

I didn’t like anything about this hotel. The rooms are extremely small, the building is old and poorly maintained, and the bathrooms are so tiny they feel about the size of a standard public restroom stall. Our first room even had a rat, so we had to switch rooms. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t any better. The cable TV didn’t work, and we had a frightening safety issue when the dresser started tipping over because one of the drawers had been left open. A heavy glass object sitting on top slid off and nearly landed on my foot. Thankfully, my boyfriend caught it just in time, preventing what could have been a serious injury. Between the rodent, broken TV, cramped bathroom, outdated rooms, and dangerous furniture, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I would not recommend staying here.

Very little insulated walls so you hear everything what's going on in the hallway and the adjacent rooms. Arcond noicy. So I woke up many times during the night (and I'm not super easy to wake up - this was a new eperience for me).

First of all, they didn’t mentioned that the garage out of the property and I have to walk to the garage and park then walk back to the property Second of all, the bed has hair on it. Lastly, the heater at the room its needs hours to make the room warm and all night was cold couldn’t sleep properly.on top of that the view was horrible from my window

The rooms are in really bad shape - wallpaper peeling of, uneven paint, worn bathtub. Rooms and staircases are in need of a deep clean.

Convenient location of the hotel and good living conditions

My experience booking this hotel was very poor; a double charge for the stay was made to our card. Booking.com took a prepayment before we arrived, but for some reason, the hotel did not see this payment in their system and charged us for the stay a second time. It was a major struggle to dispute the unauthorized charge through the bank—please be careful when traveling.

I liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfortable bedding.

It was located on the edge of union square area and the tenderloin so once it got dark there were a lot of weird people hanging around the area but it was still a very pleasant experience.

The location was excellent and very convenient. The room was spacious, comfortable, and functional. There was always hot water available, and the facilities were good.

The bathroom was a bit small. The weather was cold in the evenings, and the room also got quite cold. I turned on the heater, but it wasn’t enough to warm the room completely.

В номере грязно ужасно, пол особенно, от животных волосы и запахи от собак, плохо то что в отеле допускает животным, большинство людей приходят с животными мы видели! Номера старые и очень тесно двери в номера на половину открывается только! Унитаз чуть ли не упирается на умывальник! Вообщем все плохо особенно по чистоте!

Near Union Square. We have stayed at The Herbert and The Stratford, but the Cartwright is by far one of the cleanest, friendliest, and well located OLD SF hotels. It's an old building with a slow elevator but it's clean and charming. The front desk folks really knew how to serve the customer. 5 star customer service.

In fairness I'm used to getting more for my money and San Francisco may just be really expensive to get the same quality I'm used to. Very old building which is fine but open construction in places, no fridge, no ice machine, non disclosed parking fee of $40 a day, light in the closet was flickering badly etc..

ユニオンスクエアから徒歩5分位、ケーブルカーの駅や、現地ツアーの集合場所なども近いが、お値段はリーズナブル。部屋の広さは普通だが、何と言ってもこのお値段でバスタブが付いているのは有難い。

6階だったが、防音がイマイチなのか屋外や隣室・廊下の物音は結構良く聞こえる。

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the fact you could get tea and coffee in the morning, a nice touch. Great location.

Location to downtown is the only good thing about this hotel.

I booked two rooms, a king room and room with two twin beds. Both room were dusty and dirty. The twin room didn’t have any body wash or shampoo in the shower and they were out of stock and couldn’t replace. The king room wash out of conditioner and body wash. The outlets in both rooms did not work. The walking path on one side of the bed in the king room was literally 6” wide. The bathroom in the king room was a closet. When sitting on the toilet, my knees would hit the sink. Speaking of sink, don’t even think about trying to use it in the king room. It’s about the size of a man’s hand. They had a single glass shelf over the sink and it was so low, you barely could wash your hands, much less try to spit your toothpaste out. I had to leave a day early due to being called back to work, I let them know two days before I would have checked out and they wouldn’t refund my unused day. After some discussion, they were going to refund one day on the twin room, but at the end of the day, they never did. There are no facilities in the hotel, they serve coffee and tea in the morning and that’s it. Not even an ice machine was available, oh and no mini fridge’s in the rooms either. I WILL NOT EVER STAY HERE AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE, not even my enemy.
