Everything was very well done. Lovely stylish decor, immaculate rooms with nothing missing. Staff friendly and attentive. Dining areas lovely and good food. Couldn't fault it.
Nothing
Fantastic choice of breakfast, very well situated for easy access to the Lake District
It would be hard to improve, we loved everything
Lovely and clean, amazing food
The property was clean and looked after. Food was 10/10
Staff were very abrupt and every request seemed like you were asking for the world.
Hotel lovely/ Staff & Food amazing can't wait to return . Cocktails lovely 😍
The location, food well everything really the hotel was just perfect

The decor and size of the room. Lovely breakfast, good bar and welcoming staff. Alongside beautifully kept facilities
Nothing.
Attentive service along with modern facilities
This is the second time I have booked for my parents . Who again thoroughly enjoyed there stay . Richard behind the bar was a perfect host really attentive and made my folks feel extremely welcome .
Very clean room and ideally located for us to explore the Lake District
The cooked Breakfast was luke warm on the first day . Had different choices on the following days and it was better. Also charged for the dog after i had already queried this prior to our arrival . Would have also liked a change of towels whilst we were there but housekeeping just hung them back up when doing the turnover during the day whilst we was out .
Breakfast and evening meals were fabulous. The staff were courteous, helpful and provided a great atmosphere. An overall great experience.
Sorry just one thing. The hotel was a bit noisy (closing doors etc) in the morning.
Great hotel in super location. Really excellent staff and extremely dog-friendly. Easy access to nice walks of varying difficulty.
Nothing.
Beautiful views, friendly staff and spacious comfortable room
Lovely property with everything on offer, rooms very clean, beautiful outdoor area and surroundings. Lovely breakfast including a sausage for the dog 😊 would definitely return.

The hotel location being just outside Keswick and dog friendly. The food at the restaurant is excellent and the dog even gets a dog treat for breakfast
The room was warm.

A great place to stay, food good, nice and clean, plenty of good walks and not far into Keswick.
Chambre propre, salle de bain nickel, emplacement en dehors de la ville qui permet de choisir randonnée ou shopping. Un très bon petit déjeuner aussi
The rooms we had booked were beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious
The evening restaurant staff were a little overly directional. Wouldn’t allow us to have a table for a drink inside unless having a meal.
The view was really good although a bit noisy but it was still good.
Just a little bit noisy at times but it’s not something I’d let put off by.
Beautifully done

Recently upgraded hotel with generous sized bathroom and bedroom. Extra large bed which was very comfortable. Access via patio doors to outside seating area and to the car park. Restaurant area was bright and spacious. Excellent menu with well cooked food. We would definitely return for a longer visit.
The car park is very tight but this is The Lake District! Outside seating area was covered with leaves as were the wicker chairs. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for several days. Whilst this was not an issue for our 1 night stay, it didn’t look very attractive.
Able to walk from the door. Lovely view of the fells. Single rooms available. Food good quality.
Traffic noise from A66. Carpark entrance very steep and limited parking, fortunately parking on the road. Room very hot. Large gap under door, do light came in underneath from corridor, really annoying. Had to roll up a towel to block light.
Brand new, spotless.

We love this hotel and its location.
We are not dog lovers but we realise that those that have dogs should be able to enjoy the hotel like we do.
Room perfect. Outside seating a lovely bonus with great views. Nice breakfast.
Very comfortable room Great dinner and breakfast
All was amazing. Starts with staff ( they all do so amazing job) , they are extremely friendly and helpful. Room we was stayed in was just perfect. Very comfy bed, nice and clean bathroom. We was with our dog and they are very well prepared for this small visitors:) well done.
Friendly staff. Understood what customers wanted.
Nothing. . Apart from high temperatures in bedrooms.
Lovely place, very clean and has obviously undergone a renovation. Bedrooms well provided for and nice decor. Beds super comfortable.
The upstairs rooms a bit hot in with no real means of cooling apart from small supplied fan.
It was close to where we needed to be
Great size of the family room, access to patio with really nice chairs outside, amazing breakfast and dinner - absolutely the best place I’ve stayed in Keswick area

Beautiful hotel, restaurant great, the breakfast was exceptional, the rooms were clean & comfortable
Liked everything about the property
Dinner excellent, breakfast very good
Rooms were immaculate and nicely decorated. Bed was comfy and staff came in to clean the room daily. Great location as it’s near Keswick town centre and right next to the main road. Staff were lovely and accommodating. We had breakfast included and the food was delicious with service being quick. I will definitely be back😊
Excellent venue
All good but one or two stern members of staff
The Ruddings is a lovely property in a great location, just off the highway, making it an excellent stopover. Our family room was spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom had a good-sized shower with everything we needed. Free on-site parking was another big plus. The only downside was the check-in experience. The lady at reception (I didn’t catch her name, but she had an East European accent) came across as rather surly and could have been more welcoming and helpful. The property is also quite a maze to navigate, and the lift only goes to the first floor. If you have heavy luggage, be aware that you may still need to carry it up stairs. It would have been helpful if this information had been volunteered at check-in rather than only provided when asked. On a much more positive note, the breakfast staff the following morning were absolutely lovely, friendly, warm, and genuinely welcoming. They made for a great start to the day. Overall, despite the less-than-ideal arrival experience, it’s a comfortable property in a convenient location that I’d happily consider staying at again.
The Ruddings is in a great location - beautifully maintained and has everything you need for a relaxing stay.
All good
We have stayed here several times before and love it. Rooms are excellent and very clean and comfortable. Great location. Restaurant is amazing. Staff are lovely and helpful. Very dog friendly
Rooms would be better with full length mirror and a dressing table or desk or somewhere to get ready.
Zeer goed hotel, pas gerenoveerd. Erg hondvriendelijk. Er is zelfs een wasstation om de hond te wassen. Aangenaam terras om iets te drinken en te eten. Zeer comfortabel bed en mooie badkamer met ruime douche.
Dichtbij de hoofdweg maar toch een zeer mooi uitzicht
Beautiful property, location and food. Easy access by bus to Keswick
Maybe a full length mirror
The place was excellent staff couldn't do enough to help you lovely clean food was amazing we will be returning xx
Excellent location , staff and room all excellent . Special mention for the food which was top notch , also great selection of beer . Will definitely be back .

So comfortable & relaxing the room was absolutely huge & the bed to die for. All the staff are amazing breakfast excellent choice & evening meal one if the best we have had
Very modern, lovely staff ,and very clean.
To many stairs and dogs being allowed to sit on the couch.
Food and service amazing. Staff pleasant and knowledgeable of area.
No air conditioning in room only a small noisy fan available so poor sleep
Room fulfilled our expectations. Breakfast and dinner were most enjoyable, with pleasant and accommodating staff. Would certainly recommend if asked.
Restaurant serves great food. Lovely patio air with beautiful views. Very accommodating - we went with a baby and dog, staff were so welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable, having the patio doors was a bonus. Only a 10-15 mins journey into Keswick with the bus stop only a 2 min walk away.
It’s location.
Car park a little tight.
I loved my stay, enjoyed my evening meal and breakfast.
For me the bed and pillows were too soft but that is personal preference and didnt spoil my stay.
Great Location. Food was lovely, staff were pleasant Nice Mountain View from the bedroom window
We had a wonderful two-night stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to help with anything we needed, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious, and everything throughout the hotel was spotless and well maintained. We were travelling with our dog, and the hotel was exceptionally pet-friendly. The dedicated dog station, complete with an outdoor shower and thoughtful facilities, was a fantastic touch. It was clear that dogs are genuinely welcomed here, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would happily return and highly recommend this hotel to others.

Our stay was everything that we wanted to celebrate a birthday. The staff were attentive. The food was delicious. The rooms were comfortable and conducive for a good night’s sleep.
The weather - but we still enjoyed the visit
Bed was really comfortable, all the staff were attentive. Food was very nice with plenty of variety available.
One of the neighbouring doors slammed way to loud..
View out window. Comfortable bed. Food on site & delicious.
Pub vibe downstairs outside windows.
Beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. The restaurant/ breakfast room has a lovely feel and wonderful views.
There were no complaints from our stay
Lovely clean property
Nothing to dislike
Beatiful space to relax on the terrace in the evening sunshine. Good food and welcoming staff.
We would have liked a small fridge in our room. Children's menu was very limited due to a problem in the kitchen.
The Ruddings is in such a beautiful location. Being in the Lake District, you have major lakes, lovely villages, scenic routes and amazing hikes all within about an hour’s drive. It really is a perfect base if you want to explore the area. We had driven all the way from London, so arriving somewhere so comfortable made a huge difference. The food was one of the highlights of our stay. My grandfather used to rear pigs, so pork has always had a special meaning for me. The pork starter was honestly one of the best I have ever had. It was crunchy on the outside, soft and delicate inside, served with a lovely jam, and beautifully presented. For my main course, I had the steak, and the flavour was excellent. It had that deep, rich taste you get from well-rested meat, almost like aged beef, even though it was not aged. It was really well cooked and full of flavour. What also stood out was the attention given to local products. The cider was locally sourced, the beer was local as well, and you could really feel that the hotel was making the most of what this beautiful region has to offer. That made the whole experience feel even more authentic. Honestly, the cook must have come from a five-star hotel, because the quality of the food was far above what we expected. The room was also excellent. It was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. The sheets were spotless, the rug was clean, and the whole room felt fresh and well prepared. We were travelling with our 19-month-old daughter, and the bed was so big that she could sleep between us without waking us up. Of course, she refused to sleep on the perfect sofa bed they had already set up for her, but that is life with a toddler. I also have to mention the value for money. The week before, we had travelled to Eastbourne in the south of England and stayed at a hotel that was only around 15% cheaper. The two places were not comparable at all. Out of respect, I will not go into detail, but we felt like packing our things a
There was very little that we did not like. The only point to mention is that the restaurant is open to non-residents and seems to be quite well known in the area, so it is better to book in advance. This is not really a criticism of the hotel, but more something to keep in mind when planning your stay. Also, as with many places located far from main cities, the region can feel a little reserved at first when you arrive as a visitor. It takes a little time to settle in and find your way around, but once you do, the area has a lot of charm.
Recently refurbished hotel with modern clean rooms. Car parking, close to main road for access to Keswick and easy to get around. Friendly staff and a great breakfast selection
Bed is comfortable and staff is friendly
Everything .. location, Food , dog friendly , great staff , comfortable beds
Nothing to dislike thank you
The hotel and staff, staff cannot do enough to accomidate. The hotel had very easy parking the room was really clean, comfortable and good access. The location is a hidden gem.
I cannot hightlight a dislike. The only improvement I can feedbacj, which is preference, is the bar could have a dark malty or ruby beer, but this should not put off as walking distance pubs do.
We had a wonderful stay at Ruddings Hotel. The location is beautiful and peaceful, with stunning views all around. The breakfast was absolutely , and the restaurant was lovely with excellent food and atmosphere. Our bed was extremely comfortable, which made the stay even more relaxing. Overall, a fantastic experience and we would happily return again.
Great location, attentive and friendly staff, clean, spacious and well appointed rooms.
The room was lovely, the bed was very comfortable. The lift was very useful. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious. All staff were courteous and friendly.

Everything
Very Nice, good food and very clean
Not much
The staff are attentive, friendly and gave us a warm welcome. The hotel is immaculate and fitted with first class furnishings and decorated to a very high standard everywhere. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel is positioned in a lovely area and if you stay in a room at the front, you will have a stunning view. Plenty of choice at breakfast and we highly recommend eating in the restaurant on an evening. The steak pie is amazing.
I would have liked another comfy chair in the bedroom, so that one of us didn't have to sit on the bed to watch TV.
Really friendly staff. Good menu throughout the day. Beautiful comfortable room (room 22) with stunning views of the fells. Large corner shower in the good sized bathroom. Excellent base for exploring the lakes and Cumbrian coast
Just be aware there is no lift and the stairs down to reception are quite steep....but the room was worth the climb.😀
no complaints at all

Lovely hotel, the food was really good and the staff went out of their way to look after us. We will certainly be back
Nothing
All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel and our room were lovely.
Although we were grateful for off-road parking, the carpark access was steep, and manoeuvring in and out of a space wasn't easy. That said, I recognise that remedying this wouldn't be straightforward.
Hard working, attentive and friendly staff are what make this place special. The food is of a very high standard and the hotel warrants the praise it receives.
Wonderful view of Skiddaw from the terrace, fantastic food throughout the day. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were great. Easy walk or short bus ride to Keswick. Great access to lots of Wainwrights for the keen hiker. Lovely quiet village. Easy to get to as directly off the A66.
Quite close to A66 so a tiny amount of road noise.
I loved the location! And the bed was so huge!
Everything is great!
The decor was stunning and in such good taste. Very clean high standard. The food was exceptional. The staff were courteous and attentive. Such a relaxing stay.
