Reviewed Sep 20, 2026A perfect hideaway giving us a break from the business of the bigger cities. It was a very welcome peaceful leg of our Japan holiday. It was authentically Japanese and loved the little touches, such as the casual Kiminos, and all the different footwear! The staff were very polite and we very much enjoyed being looked after by them. The open air bath was a real treat! It was well situated to maximise the use of the Hakone Free Pass. A great way to explore!

El hotel es un establecimiento con una trayectoria para público japonés. No fueron capaces de hacernos un huevo cocido para desayunar ya que no somos capaces de tomar sopa y caballa y el hubo crudo tampoco nos va. Simplemente hay lo que hay. Las instalaciones están muy viejas, al igual que el mobiliario.

但酒店很小，连小花园也没有，设施肯定比较旧了，不过总体舒适度还可以，大堂里有零食，休息厅有冰激淋、饮料、咖啡、晚上有拉面。温泉泡汤有三个，还有私汤。我看到很多日本人喜欢选择自己中意的彩色和服。洗浴用品和护肤品都很齐全。清洁有点一般，在洗手台地下发现头发。餐饮必须说很一般，吃两顿都是暖锅，不好吃，食材新鲜度一般。早餐我更不喜欢。

Experimentamos o jantar e pequeno-almoço típico japonês, tinha muita variedade, mas como não estamos habituados foi um pouco mais difícil gostarmos. Talvez se houvesse a possibilidade de pequeno-almoço ocidental seria melhor.

Nothing to dislike. But… We ordered a bottle of sake at dinner, obviously we could not finish the whole thing in our allotted time for dinner. When we asked the staff if we could take the rest to our room (it came with an ice bucket) they said no. Quite a lot of expensive sake wasted since we couldnt drink a whole bottle in an hour. So be aware of this! We would have only ordered cups if we had known. Still had a nice experience. A special occasion for us.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026The holel is located next to Gora station which is great when you arrive or when you want to go on a expedition to Owakudani (or other location). The onsen in the hotel are great and the staff very kind. Will definitely come back.
Even if the food was really good and that the chef is doing a fantastic job with his team, we found that there was a lack of variety in what is offered. For 2 nights it's OK but I wouldn't enjoy it much longer.

夕食時に対応してくださったサーバーの方の接客態度が非常に残念でした。終始、見下すような態度や小馬鹿にしたような対応を受け、不快な思いをしました。 食事中にもかかわらず、「空いたお皿を下げます」と何度も言われ、奥の席に座っていた家族にも食事中のお皿を無理に出すよう促され、落ち着いて食事を楽しむことができませんでした。 また、飲み物の注文方法が分からず尋ねた際には、呆れたような表情をされ、タブレットを顎で指しながら「タブレットでできますけど」と言われました。その対応はとても失礼に感じました。 両親との大切な旅行だっただけに、このような接客を受けたことで、せっかくの楽しい時間が台無しになってしまい、とても残念です。今後は、お客様に寄り添った丁寧な接客を徹底していただきたいと思います。

The room was clean and spacious for 4 people, we had a room with terrace and outside bathtub. It is conveniently located close to the railway station. The staff was very friendly and polite. .

OMG - this place is beyond a good clean, although it seriously needs one, it’s in need of a complete refurbishment. You cannot charge these prices and offer such tired facilities.

Reviewed Jun 22, 2026We appreciated the authentic experience of a traditional Japanese inn. The room was large and the food was good. Also, the location was very convenient. The public onsen is really nice with a natural ambiance. The beds were very comfortable.
Our overall experience was good however, the facility is dated. We liked it being an older inn, but some features like tubs, walls, etc are worn and not well maintained. We got very unlucky our first night at dinner. We walked through the restaurant with many tables, beautiful windows and lighting to end up at the worst table that was in a far corner, behind a wall with no window. I think they should avoid sitting any guests at that table because it will affect how they experience dinner.

The entire staff from reception and housekeeping to the restaurant and onsen—was incredibly warm and welcoming. Our room was spectacularly clean, and the food was a total 10/10 (both the breakfast and the traditional Kaiseki dinner). They even surprised us with a late-night supper that was incredibly delicious! Loving the public onsen and private bath made this trip unforgettable. Highly recommended to everyone.

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026This was a fairly large hotel complex, but at the same time it didn't feel too big. The room was large and spacious - and had all the amenities. The beds were large and very comfortable. The bath tub on the verandah was a real treat - perfect after a hard day being a tourist... the private onsens were magical and the wait to get one of the three available wasn't very long. Dinner and breakfast were included in our accommodation package. The food - variety, quality and quantity - was excellent. Our accommodation was very close to Gora station so we could get to where we wanted to get to very easily. We were also just a short walk from the Hakone Open-Air Museum which was just a brilliant place. To anyone going to Hakone we thoroughly recommend staying here for a couple of nights at least - treat yourself!!! :)
The hotel is showing its age and needs a bit of a refurbishment.

Das Personal im Hotel ignoriert teilweise die ausländischen Gäste oder läuft einfach davon, wenn man Fragen hat, da sie mit Englisch nicht weiterkommen oder nur Bruchhaft sprechen. Andersherum haben wir auch versucht, uns mit Händen und Füßen zu verständigen.

Fina onsen-faciliteter med både privat onsen man kunde använda fritt, med god tillgänglighet, samt den gemensamma anläggningen med flera olika bad och bastu, uppdelad avdelning för herrar och damer. Bra tillgång på olika snacks som serverades utöver den fantastiska middagen och frukosten. Extra kul att man själv får välja färg och mönster på sin yukata som används.

The room was a bit worn down even though the hotel is from 2006. It’s half board but there is no coffee for breakfast, you have to get it yourself in a little room that serves as a cafeteria.

It was difficult to figure out how to leave to get the bullet train to Kyoto. We were told to get a bus but the instructions from the staff were unclear. I would recommend just using the train in and out of Gora.

Reviewed May 31, 2026The entire ryokan was beautiful, and our room, in particular, was peaceful and elegantly designed, giving us an authentic taste of traditional Japanese culture. The open-air bath was exceptional and added greatly to the experience. We also greatly appreciated the attentiveness of the staff, who made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. This was by far our most memorable accommodation and one of the highlights of our trip.

Reviewed May 29, 2026The staff were very friendly and supportive. The dinners were delicious and the service at dinner was outstanding. The location is ideal being next to Gora station. The private bath was also amazing and I'm glad we opted for this in our room.
There were no negative experiences at this hotel.

Reviewed May 29, 2026The complex has a wonderful setting of lush greenery and sounds of running water. The spring fed tub in the balcony was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
The rooms could be updated slightly. The lack of convenient wall plugs was unfortunate. The shower could have had a more clean appearance. It would have been appreciated to have some western culture items available from the restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Reviewed May 28, 2026Beautiful Ryoken where we were made to feel very special. Only stayed for 1 night but wish we stayed for at least 2! The evening and breakfast meals were incredible experiences as well as the baths. Hakone in general is also a fantastic place to stay especially with the hakone loop within steps of the hotel itself
The hotel were unwilling to help us book a taxi after our original bus was massively delayed, however they did help us figure out our journey otherwise

Reviewed May 28, 2026Welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely open air onsens, both private and public and set in the lovely wooded area. Our room was an older style Japanese ryokan type room, very spacious, comfortable and charming. We also chose to have breakfast and dinner included and didn’t regret it, both were delicious and delightful. The hotel also provides a range of complimentary offers eg free refreshments, free ramen and free use of yukatas for guest to wear. The location is right next to Gora station, which is easy to get to from Odawara via Hakone Yumoto
Our room was lovely but a little dated in places, which we didn’t mind but the safe didn’t work.
