Breakfast was very good and quite tasty. Room was small but adequate and clean. Relaxed atmosphere was lovely. Except for the person who checked us in, all staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The noise of the pub patio was muted by a wall and activity there did not go late in the evening.

Tried to charge us additional fee for 4th person. We had 2 rooms, so I knew that there was no difference in fee whether 1 or 2 in the room. I had the paperwork with me to show that we had made the arrangement for a 4th person at no extra charge ahead and they were expecting 4 people in 2 rooms. So the woman had to back off. However, it was not a pleasant start to our stay. There is no air conditioning but we knew this ahead. There was a fan in our room and we were comfortable..

Fairly near the port and Netley is a good area

Could do with some paint repairs and the room and bathroom were tiny

We used the Prince Consort for an overnight stay as it’s very close to the port. Have used them several times before. But think now the time is right to find somewhere else.

The rooms are a little dated but suited for one night. Disappointed that they couldn’t fit us in for dinner (2of us) due to a large party being there. So we had to go off and find a takeaway. And they’ve stopped doing hash browns at breakfast 🤦🏻‍♀️ we had a room ground floor next to the stairs. So people thumping up and down at all hours can keep you awake.

Stayed here for 1 night before we collected family returning from a a cruise, a very friendly local pub, we didnot stay for breakfast but had an evening meal, This without doubt was one of the best meals I have out in some time, the quality and Quantity of the food was outstanding and don't get me going on the price! brilliant how they manage to produce food of this quality for the prices they charge are amazing. To say the food was value for money would be an understatement. One word for value like this is OUTSTANDING.

Visited some years back and remembered I had the same room. Staff extra friendly throughout my stay. The room was very clean ( Special mention to the lovely cleaning lady) and well well kitted out. Breakfast was good. Very relaxed atmosphere in the evening for a drink in the garden.Sorry to hear about Pepe. Met him during my first stay and remembered what a friendly guy he was.

Nothing to complain about, but maybe another small fold away table next to the other one. Had to move the beverage tray onto the top of the wardrobe to make room for the fan. Very tight fit.

Very clean accommodation, although the rooms are rather small the room we had, number 2 had a comfortable bed and despite being behind the pub we experienced no noise issues after 11:00pm. The staff we encountered during our stay were exceptional, very polite and customer service was excellent.

We stayed at the Prince Consort before heading out for a cruise. It was a great location -- quiet, nice areas to walk near the hotel, and easy to grab a cab to the cruise terminal. Staff at the pub were friendly; and, the food was great. Rooms are on the smaller side, but we knew that going in. We hit it during an especially warm period, but, with a fan, the room cooled down nicely at night.

Excelent service and accommodation

All the staff were friendly and efficient. The manager, Gareth, kindly let us store our containers of fresh fruit plus chocolate bars in the beer cellar to keep cool. We dined there on both the nights we stayed. The food was good and very reasonably priced. There was an issue with one of our main courses, but that was resolved with a complimentary dessert. The location was ideal for us and we enjoyed sitting out in their beer garden. Our full English breakfasts were ace! Our twin beds were comfortable. Nice added touches included a table fan and a retro clock/radio .The posh biscuits were nice too!

Our room was very small. It was generally clean, apart from several fiercesome cobwebs high up - I rescued several of the residents and put them outside! Only one very small window, with a broken curtain.

Evening meal was superb, breakfast not so much, bacon and egg were overcooked. Comfy beds and room was clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

There was no air-conditioning in the temperature outside was 40°C. The small fan in the room helped a little, but I wish the room was air-conditioned.

The bedroom was clean and bigger than I thought, the presentation was lovely with towels rolled on the beds with little bottles of shower gel and shampoo on the top. There was biscuits, tea, coffee and hot chocolate and bottles of water too. The food in the bar was restaurant standard and such big portions

After the first time we stayed there, we decided that it was going to be our place to stay every time. The staff are fantastic, the hotel is warm, welcoming and very clean. The breakfast is always gorgeous and sets you up for the day. We can't fault the place or it's team, we look forward to staying and will be there again in August.

Stayed at the Prince Consort for the first time for 2 nights in room 4. The room with ensuite was clean, nicely presented and had two comfortable single beds.The tea and coffee tray was well stocked. The breakfast choice was very good and the food was plentiful and nicely cooked. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The only issues I had was the tv in the room would come on initially then go to a blank screen? Also the room emergency light has an extremely bright green light. It's not very noticeable in the day time but it's a piercing green light during the night time. I did report both of the issues with hotel staff. Although both issues were a little annoying, overall my stay was an enjoyable one.

The location was brilliant for our requirements 👏 Free parking uncluded, plenty of space availability & accommodation was close to both bus & train connections into town but still far enough away from there to enjoy a truely restful peace & quiet sleep 🤫 The member of staff we mainly encountered each morning was a delight, she was full of local knowledge & served our delicious breakfasts & drinks with a smile 😃 We would definitely recommend & stay there again... Thank you 😊

No window lock, our room felt a bit exposed to external factors & TV remote didn't work properly, still really nice stay though.

Great little pub, restaurant with accommodation to the rear of the pub lovely friendly owners/staff fantastic full English breakfast,comfy bed has everything you need and some little extras. We stayed in room 1 which was a twin bed as that’s all they had left but it was more than adequate for our needs we will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Southampton visiting our friends great value for money.

Excellent accommodation, comfortable room. Short walk to view sights over to Isle of Wight, watching ferries and cruise ships go past. Staff very welcoming, food excellent and large portions too. Good overnight stay prior to going to Southampton for cruise holiday. Will return again.

Great value stay. Staff faultless. Lovely lunch whilst our rooms were still being cleaned.as we were early. Rooms for myself and 2 brothers exactly what we needed. Breakfast also great value and good standard - young man that served us was excellent. All in all - faultless- and not expensive. Definitely recommend.

For my husband and I it was a very good location as it was near the church where we needed to go on two occasions. The access to the room was very good, near the car park.

I was sooo late arriving but after a traumatic journey they kept the kitchen open to make me some dinner and offered me the use of their phone as I had lost mine on the train

The heating was off in the room on arrival with temperatures outside at -1 degree. I turned it on (electric convection) and went for food to be somewhere warm. I informed the staff of the situation, maybe a portable heater should have been offered to help! On return a couple of hours later the room was still very cold with the heater being on the wall and positioned at chest height so below it never warmed up. I lay in bed with fleece on to watch TV Looking at other reviews I'm hoping this was just a housekeeping oversite, but it was damn cold! The bed had no headboard In the morning there were trickles of water on the lower walls as the damp was being pulled out!
