We stayed here for two nights. Our room was nice and had a huge bathroom with double kohler vessel sinks and a large interesting mural of what appears to be Salvador Dali’s face. Room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the lobby bar (Bacchus Bar) and had breakfast at Il Solito (Italian) on the first floor. Food was pretty good. Decor in this hotel pays homage to wine, especially Oregon wine culture. Valet parking is a little pricey, but there were garages nearby for much less. It was an easy walk to Pearl District, Pioneer courthouse, and Powell’s books.
Awesome stay. Great room with big windows. Excellent bed and bedding. Nice and quiet. Friendly staff, especially Cody!
Clean, modern, attentive/friendly staff.
This was not our first visit to the vintage and yet again they did not disappoint staff is very accommodating and friendly! Jack who was our valet was exceptional and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and has great personality! I enjoyed our conversations!
I spent two nights at this hotel and had a very pleasant stay overall. Although I booked through Chase Edit and didn't receive early check-in or an upgrade, the welcome amenity—two cans of water, a jar of parmesan truffle popcorn--breakfast vouchers, and a $100 property credit all came through as promised. My third-floor room was clean and cozy, but somewhat affected by street noise. The workspace allowed me to work comfortably on my second day, and the bed featured a firm mattress with ample bedding. My absolute favorite part, however, was the robes! I wore mine constantly and was sad to find out they aren't available for purchase. The bathroom was mostly functional, though the sink fixture was awkward to use and counter space was limited. I also found the shower fixture a bit outdated and the bathtub quite slippery. On a positive note, dinner at the bar was good, as was breakfast at Il Solito. I arrived in Portland by train, and the hotel was a very easy walk down Broadway from Union Station. All in all, this was a comfortable stay, and I would consider staying here again next time I'm in Portland.
I was extremely nervous about the whole parking situation and where my car would be but Jack C. Gave me peace of mind letting me know no one has access to the garage, and if I need to get something that they can pull the car around for me. And he parked my car right away instead of letting it sit in the street like the hotel next to vintage.
The skyline view was great, and the location was super. Text communications from staff were helpful.
Upon arrival, there was no valet. We had to get a luggage cart ourselves, and load it up. Then, we had to manuever through the door to the check in desk. Although multiple people were behind the desk, no one offered to help with the luggage. We then had to wheel the luggage cart ourselves (it was so awkward) to the elevator and the room. In addition, the room was a bit worn (a wooden shelf was falling off the wall, some of the walls were patched, and the bathroom had one small light around the mirror so the shower was too dark!). Also, we asked two staff for dinner recommendations and they did not really have anything to share...
Great one night stay! From beginning to end, stellar experience! Misaki was great at check in...very helpful, informative, and pleasant. Ben was quick and friendly at checkout. We look forward to coming back.
We had a great weekend stay. We booked through Chase’s Edit program and enjoyed the included perks. The hotel was at full capacity so they reasonably couldn’t do a room upgrade. But the Edit property credit was useful for a dinner at the bar and the breakfast was great. They put a snack and mini wine bottle in the room for the Edit “welcome amenity.” I didn’t hear much noise from other guests. The street noise could be a bit much at night. I was on the 3rd floor so maybe it’s better higher but I kind of doubt it. Downtown is just pretty noisy with motorcycles, sirens, and something that sounded like dumpsters being repeatedly dropped for 30 minutes at 5am. The bed was comfortable enough. The mattress felt a bit futon-like. Water pressure was great. The property was in better condition than I expected based on some reviews. It didn’t feel shabby or dirty or anything like that. The wines during the included 5-6 happy hour were good quality. All the staff were nice. I’d be happy to return!
This is such a nice friendly place to stay, eat and drink. The service was amazing. Bradley and Jono were like the dynamic duo they took such good care of us and made us feel right at home.
My new favorite hotel in downtown Portland. The hotel's daily reception had surprisingly good local wine. Many hotels offer two buck chuck in plastic cups but not Hotel Vintage. The Food at the bar was really good as was the service from RJ. Cody at the front desk answered all our questions and was very attentive. Looking forward to my next stay at Hotel Vintage.
Jono and Bradley provided excellent service and conversation at the Bacchus Bar.
Sliped and fell in jacuzzi tub room floor had water on it from getting out of tub. Poorly designed slick floor was like ice. Hurt my seif badly and was sent up rubber mat and two band aids for a fractured femur and all toes on right foot turned purple. Probsbly should have called my attourney and gone to an ER but was on expensive vacation and could still walk with discomfort.
The staff at this hotel were great, helping us check in with ease and going above and beyond to resolve an issue we had with our booking. The hotel is well located and is generally very modern. The only things stopping it from getting a perfect score for us were that the bathroom in our room was fairly dated. Also while resort fees now seem like a necessary evil when travelling around the states, the resort fee here did seem to be on the higher side - appreciate you get $10 credit a day for food but that just felt like a cynical effort to force people to eat at their restaurant.
centrally located!! good customer service!
To start...what a great staff they have. Cody was especially welcoming and helped us setup our room and explained our benefits available. Location was great and walking distance to most everything we needed to go to in downtown. If it was further, the lobby had two retro bikes to use. You would think a vintage hotel may not be kid friendly however we were throughly suprised with the 2nd floor game room that offered modern amenities likw Nintendo switch usage! Kids definetly winded down there. The resurtant for breakfast was also great. Very accommodating when we can book ahead the night before to ensure we get a spot during the morning rush. Food was excellent! All in all I would highly recommend this place and would come back to visit again!
Location was perfect, it was by everything we wanted to see!! The front desk lady, Mitsuki I believe was her name, truly so kind and welcome she made the process of checking in awesome!! The atmosphere was great and our room was also really great! Room service always did so well with the rooms and making sure it was clean! The decorations and the stairs were my favorite I got some awesome pictures here! The bar was also a really great time for us! Jono and Bradley were very attentive and kind! Drinks were also great!
My company booked this hotel for our department to stay in while we had our first workshop, and I was pleasantly surprised. I don't travel very often so I don't have a lot of expectation in hotels except for the mattress. If the mattress is too firm/lumpy/pokey, and I wake up with a sore back, it sours the whole trip. I was very happy to find that this Kimpton had a lovely just-squishy-enough mattress that my back and I appreciated. I will definitely keep the Kimpton hotels in mind for future travel. I did want to mention that the shower felt a wee bit slippery, (from water softener, maybe?) so having some anti slip stickers in the tub would have felt more secure. This was mentioned by others in my group, as well, so maybe get some of those ducky stickers from the 90's! Supposedly 90's are considered "vintage" now, so it'd follow the hotel brand 😋 Special shout-out to Cody at the front desk, she was so welcoming and friendly to me and my bff(/coworker). She put us in some really lovely rooms with awesome views! Thanks Cody, you rock!!
Jono & Bradley were great & attentive. The drinks were 10/10 each time!
Jono and Bradley made my experience at the hotel very enjoyable
Great drinks and conversation drinks were 10 out of 10!
Hotel Vintage has a very welcoming and calming atmosphere, clean spacious rooms, and lots of amenities. All of the staff we encountered were exceptional. I want to shout out Cody at the front desk, you took such good care of us, thank you! I also want to thank RJ at the bar and Porfirio at the restaurant.
Absolutely great stay! You can’t ask for a more central location, and the staff and accommodations were top tier!
My third time at this hotel was just as great as the first two. Charm, comfort, great staff (Cody was especially helpful and enjoyable). One of the best festures is the breakfast--don't miss. The breakfast potatoes are legendary! The rooms have all the needed amenities, beds comfortable, great location. It would be good for our grandkids, as well. We hope to return soon.
If you have Chase The Edit credits to spend, this is the hotel to book. Overnight parking with SpotHero under 15 a night. Breakfast includes up to $30 per person. Dinner is at the bar, unexpected great quality. Killer Burger joint a couple blocks away makes a great spot to drop by for a quick bite.
Great location in downtown Portland. Easy to walk to all the main spots. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast on site was delicious. Happy hour always great with Kimpton. Rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely stay here again
Damm near killed myself slipping on the slick wet tile in the bathroom exiting the tub. Very poor and dangerous design. Injured.myself and could have been killed. Definately going to doctor. Tub and floor in dire need of adhesive surfices
All staff members went above and beyond in terms of support over our family’s five day stay - even while attending to less predictable needs. Nik was particularly helpful and generous with his time. We’ll be back!
Great walkable location with friendly, helpful staff. Special thanks to Nick and Nate for their excellent service.
This may have been my favorite visit to a Kimpton ever. Outside of just the great location, centrally location to nearly everything we wanted to do, we rarely felt pressure to even leave the hotel because the service was so fantastic. Ely, the GM, checked us in and set the tone for the entire visit. It was easy to see by just the way she interacted with her team and the other guests how the experience was going to go. Nik with the Front Desk was always a great conversation and a huge help. Then Bradley and Jono with the bar/restaurant always kept us entertained and taken care of. All in all, really wonderful trip and stay here. Will absolutely be my go to when we come back.
Room was kinda small, and the water pressure was low.
The only thing was that you could tell it was older. Paint was peeling from some areas of the walls and the furniture was old. Otherwise amazing.
I loved hanging out with Jono and Bradley!! They were so sweet and fun to meet while I was staying in a brand new city.
Jono and Bradley give you such a personalized bar experience. They make you feel right at home and make an incredible paper plane!
Had a great time exploring Portland & this hotel was a big part of it (very centrally located)! Shout out to Nik at the front desk for his hospitality & genuine attitude in helping us & others! We tried both restaurants on the premise and the food is fantastic. Bradley at the bar was a fount of knowledge & made great drinks as he engaged with the patrons. We would recommend this hotel & will def be back!
GREAT hotel with phenomenally helpful staff. From making suitable shopping suggestions for my daughter, to fixing my mistakes with discounts, everyone was so helpful. Room was big, beds comfy, curtains worked! The food in their restaurant (Il Sostro) was superb. Had great breakfasts and wonderful dinners. Games room (pool table, shuffleboard, giant Connect 4) was also perfect for after breakfast and after dinner activities. Delighted I chose this hotel.
We stayed here on the 16th of March and from the very beginning I couldn't believe how exemplary everything was. From check in (shout out to Cody!) and valet parking (shout out to Nik) Things just got better and better. We've stayed in quite a few hotels and this one stood out for how truly stellar in every way it was. We were traveling with our cat and had forgotten a bowl. Guest services brought a spare up. Couldn't figure out the bath. Again, guest services to the rescue again! (Thanks, Enrique!) Take out for dinner bc we were completely knackered. The food was really good! Courtesy of the Bacchus bar menu. Breakfast @ El Solito was a pleasant surprise. Delicious, wonderfully prepared food. Our server, Sam was super helpful and friendly! (Shout out to her cat - Oswald!) This hotel could go toe to toe with any five star hotel, and then some! If you have the opportunity, avail yourself of their vibe, bc it is the absolute best! They know how to treat you right.
This place was Amazing and made things super easy for us. Big shout out to Ryan the front desk manager. He helped with everything we needed like late checkout and set up a birthday surprise for one of our guest staying. Couldn't recommend this place enough, the vibes are amazing and room was great. Definitely staying here again!
Jono and Bradley made my weekend. I love them.
Gorgeous hotel, good vibes. Jono and Bradley are great bartenders that are willing to deal with my friend’s nonsense
Everyone here is so lovable! Shout out to Ms. Aki, Jono, and Bradley!
We visited bacchus bar during the PM Sandwich Week. Elegant but relaxed vibe. Jono and Bartender Bradley were exceptionally friendly and respectful. We ordered the SW special, which was a delicious, savory and complex Southern Katsu and our cocktails were excellent pairings and well-executed. Will definitely return!
I had such a great experience and wanted to specifically recognize Jono and Bradley for making it memorable. Jono and Bradley were both incredibly personable and welcoming — the kind of team that makes you feel instantly at ease. Bradley made me a fantastic French 75 (perfectly balanced and refreshing), and I had such a great conversation with Jono that it honestly elevated the entire evening. During the complimentary wine hour (5–6pm), Ryan was also wonderful to talk to. I learned a lot about the current state of Portland and really appreciated his thoughtful perspective and local insight. It felt less like a hotel wine hour and more like an engaging conversation with someone who genuinely cares about the city. Experiences like this are what make a stay stand out. Thank you to Jono, Bradley, and Ryan for the hospitality — I’ll absolutely be back.
Jono at the Bacchus Bar was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay delightful. We will be back!
We love the Bacchus Bar. Jono & Bradley always take good care of us with excellently made cocktails. We enjoy the food, tasty & filling. We look fwd to coming back next wknd while we're in town for wknd #2 of the Portland Winter Light Festival!
The location was great. The room was large.
I booked a room with a view but did not get any windows. Also, the food was terrible,
I checked into the Kimpton early, which the staff easily accommodated. The check-in was simple, and the staff's attention and efficiency was outstanding. The room was well laid out, and very clean, which is exactly what I expected. One problem immediately arose, the room was very hot. The thermostat was set at 72°, but it seemed even warmer than that. I adjusted the thermostat, and that seemed to work. So problem solved it seemed. Unfortunately throughout the night the heat kept coming on in the temperature in the room rose. Because it was the middle of the night, I was not about to get dressed and call maintenance to fix the problem. So that was problem number one with the room. A second problem arose when I opened the window to cool the room down. When I attempted to close the window it would not close and it was necessary to have maintenance come up. They came up promptly and fixed the stuck window immediately. So that problem was solved very quickly. The third problem was that there were no robes in the room. When I asked for a rope to be delivered, it was delivered very quickly by housekeeping. This particular problem with the heat and the thermostat was unusual, and because the problem was greatest in the middle of the night, it was annoying. I did reported to maintenance of following my departure and they said they would take care of it. Based on my other experiences with maintenance I believe that is probably true, I would probably give the Vintage Portland another try if I return to Portland on business. This is based on the fact that with the other two relatively minor problems, they were rectified almost immediately.
Had a great stay right in the heart of downtown Portland within walking distance of everything you may need. Customer service was extraordinarily. They really made me feel at home 💕🙏
We had a really great experience here... Downtown Portland has amazing restaurants and lovely shops (we felt very safe, do not let the national news fool you!)...The hotel is perfectly located near all things Portland. The room was lovely (and wonderfully pet friendly!) and the Valet Service lead by KC & Carter was top notch!
Room was great size for us and a dog, bed was comfortable. Check in was quick and easy. Valet was quick, KC Carter were helpful
This was my 4th staycation in the last 3 months, I would like to thank the staff at the front desk for their hospitality especially Cody who checked us in and out. The two ladies at Il Solito were professional and friendly in the early hours for breakfast. One thing I noticed is the freshness of coffee in the lobby which I have an issue with many other hotels during my road trips across the USA, great selection of top brand tea. Todays afternoon Hot Apple Cider was superb, don't miss the Nightly Social Hour in the lobby. I had the corner room which I do recommend. We enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful building and room, excellent location and amazing value

RJ and Joni were phenomenal! Helped us enjoy our dear friend’s bachelor party to the fullest 🙌 Kept the space cozy, well lit, and well stocked!
Staff were great! David, Gabby, Theresa and Ben were professional kind and courteous! Misaki was so helpful and kind and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was fabulous. Thanks to the outstanding team you have!
Bradley and Jono were the best bartenders I could have asked for at a property like this. Would come back just to holla at them.
Love the location and the vibes.
I booked this property based on my credit card which offered excellent incentives for Edit properties, I'm ever so glad I took advantage of this opportunity. The Kimpton was wonderful and had a warm cozy feel. From the cleanliness and comfort of our room to the wonderful staff and social hour in the lobby we felt right at home. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts at the restaurant and great drinks at the bar meeting many friendly people throughout our stay. We will definitely return whenever we come to town. Highly recommend
Our experience was a great one. We stayed overnight for a business trip and had the best experience at Bacchus Bar. Excellent service from Jono and RJ! Very pleasant and friendly, their knowledge of wines is outstanding. I highly recommend this hotel!
This was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve ever had. Everything here is extremely slow — every request, every service, every interaction. The staff constantly seemed overwhelmed and uninterested, and there were never enough people working to handle guests properly. The valet was a mess: no available spots, not even onsite, and we were left waiting with no guidance. Even breakfast was a disaster. There were plenty of empty tables, yet we still had to wait around 10 minutes just for them to “set up,” which made no sense. It felt like the staff simply didn’t care about the guest experience at all. For the price and expectations, this hotel failed on every level. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
Stayed for 8 nights while visiting family in Portland. A special acknowledgement of Bradley at the Bacchus bar and our many evening conversations along with RJ and Jono. Additional positives included free morning coffee and happy hour wines, solid meals at Il Solito, and the Thursday night trivia contest with prizes. I did have issues with the valet parking so ended up self-parking across the street for half the price. I also was a bit disconnected when it came to having my room serviced but not a terrible inconvenience. I appreciated a call from the hotel mid-stay soliciting my level of satisfaction. Lastly, the hotel’s location was fine as it was within walking distance of many restaurants and shopping.
We always have such a wonderful stay at the kimpton hotel vintage in Portland. It's close to everything we love to do there while being beautiful, fun and very welcoming. KC the valet took great care of our car as always, so we did not have any worries! We'll be back.
I’ve always been a fan of Kimpton hotels and this one was one of my favorites. Especially with my 8 year-old in tow, it was a perfect getaway for my whole family. My husband and I enjoyed the vibe, hospitality and the spacious room, while my son was in heaven in the game room. Would definitely come back!
Bacchus Bar is great! Very friendly and creative bartenders Jono and Bradley made me feel at home, and the drinks were interesting, well-crafted, and tasty. Good also is very good. This is one of the rare bars that is at a hotel that I would go to even if I weren’t staying at the hotel.
Lovely experience with amazing staff at the front desk and the Bacchus Bar inside the hotel, especially Jono and Bradley who helped us find great local spots.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind and accommodating, and we were greeted with free water from Tristan Misaki. Our business trip stay included free breakfast at their brunch restaurant, I’ll Solito, which was wonderful! There was also a happy hour from 5-6pm with complimentary wine!
Fantastic experience, Jono and Bradley were informative and friendly and lots of fun to chat with. We didn't want the night to end! Best margarita I've had in a while!!
Back again for my usual stay when I’m in Portland for business or to see friends and this hotel never disappoints. It’s a highlight every time especially with the in-house restaurant and my fav bar that opens for their social hour and the best & coolest bartender, bar back duo each night with Bradley & Jono. Great convo and outstanding old fashioned every single time. As an IHG Diamond Elite member that stays in hotels all the time, this place with all the amenities are in my top 5 list. Come by and check it out and say hi to my friends at the bar - you won’t be disappointed.
Great experience! We had the place to ourselves! We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service! The short rib was fantastic.
I stopped by Bacchus bar Halloween night and had the most wonderful drinks made by Jono and Bradley. They were knowledgeable and easy to talk to. This experience really set my night off in the right direction! I would definitely recommend this bar for tasty drinks and high quality service!
Great atmosphere and the Bradley was awesome! The drinks were great, the food was great! The service was awesome. Very comfortable atmosphere
I found the reserve spa suite online at the Downtown Vintage Kimpton Hotel when I was looking for something special to surprise my girlfriend with for her birthday. It was pretty magical and the room was the nicest room she had ever been to before. The price was pretty amazing for the luxuriousness of the hotel. It was impeccably clean and rhe service provided was friendly and attentive.
The front desk team is exceptionally customer-oriented and always helpful. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is welcoming, and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. I always look forward to returning. While there, visit Bradley at Bacchus Bar he’s an outstanding bartender with extensive local knowledge and always has great recommendations for things to do and places to go.
We went on a girl's trip (mom/ aunt/ sister) to Portland from Seattle for a couple nights, and had a small dog with us during our trip. Kimpton not only allows dogs/ pets but also has treats, water bowls around the lobby. Our room was very comfortable and cozy, offered complimentary wine tastings late afternoon in the lobby (perfect as an aperitif before another at dinner!). What stood out most for us during our stay was the incredibly kind and thoughtful staff at the front desk (Eric and Tobby). They made us feel welcome right away, made the checking in and out experience seamless. We'll book here again next time we're in town!
Tentative and professional, also very personable. Great service! Bradley and Jono are a great team!! Highly recommend
In town for a wedding with the family. Had a great time at the Kimpton and specifically the Bacchus Bar. Service was fantastic, thank you Jono and Bradley for making a fabulous evening even better.
What a great little Hotel. I loved my room, the location, the breakfast and the bar. Most importantly the staff was wonderful, especially RJ who ran the bar. He was the kind of bartender you came to the bar for, which is rare in a hotel bar. Definitely would stay again. Highly recommend.
Enjoyed our cocktails and food in the bar before a show at Living Room Theater. Jono and Bradley are friendly and shared their smiles and had a good chat. Excellent chips and only in rice bran oil!
Great room, light, spacious.

Everything was great. The rooms were nice and clean, staff was exceptional, and food was great. I loved the valet service, it was very handy. I really cannot brag on the staff enough. They were so nice and gave us ideas for places to go in our free time.

Ben and Tristan were excellent. They were quick to respond to any requests and were extremely helpful. Definitely will look to stay here whenever I’m in Portland.
Misaki had great restaurant recommendations and was very kind!!! Brooklyn and Whitney were very helpful and nice!! :)
I had a great stay at this hotel, and it's the second I've done in a year. The service was impeccable. Misaki took care of me from the check-in, and was there checking in on me every day. She's a great addition to the hotel. I'll always use the free bikes at Kimptons and this trip was no exception. It's a great way to explore a city and I'm glad they had them there. My room was perfect, which for me means it was very quiet, dark enough at night, and there's nothing I was missing. I'll happily stay there again.
The hotel made us feel special. Great central location as we walked to restaurants and shops.
The hotel was so clean and beautiful. Misaki was so helpful with food recommendations. Tristan was so helpful and answered all the questions we had.
Typical hotel lobby bar but with exceptional cocktails. The bartenders, Jono and Bradley, were super friendly and made great drinks. My partner and I had a great time talking with them over a couple cocktails.
Stopped in on my birthday to have a couple of Old Fashioned cocktails. . Both Jono and Bradley were both professional and fun with great energy! I don’t get downtown often but the next time I do I’ll be visiting The Bacchus Bar. Thank you for the great experience. It was a great way to start my birthday Joseph
Everytime I stay at Kimton Hotel Vintage it is amazing. That is why i always stay here when I visit Portland. We had a goodie bag waiting for us at check in and Whitney, the person at the front desk is probably the friendliest person I have ever met. They have social hour every day with from 5-6 with free wine and Ben did a great job serving and making sure our glasses didn’t stay empty. David also helped with our bill a little at checkout with some Raid the Bar discount. Ask about it and definitely stay here.
Jono & Bradley the bartender & Barack’s were a pleasure and great at that they do. Made us feel welcome and very courteous.
Jojo and Bradley helped us greatly. We arrived and the wings had a delay but we waited ~30 minutes happily. The wings were incredible!!! Thank you

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.7/10Rooms described as clean and comfortable in multiple reviews, though a few guests noted worn areas (patched walls) and some bathroom issues (slippery tub, awkward sink) that lowered the score slightly.
Service
9.3/10Staff repeatedly praised by name (Cody, Jack, Misaki, Ben) for friendliness and going above and beyond; one report of a check-in arrival with no valet and limited help with luggage represents occasional inconsistency.
Location
9.4/10Consistently called a great, central location — easy walk to Pearl District, Powell’s, Union Station, with good skyline views and convenient access to downtown.
Room Quality
8.6/10Rooms have excellent beds, big windows, and comfortable furnishings (beloved robes), but some guests reported worn fixtures (falling shelf, patched walls), limited counter space, and outdated shower fittings.
Amenities
9.1/10Strong on amenities: lobby bar (Bacchus), Il Solito restaurant, welcome amenity, breakfast vouchers and property credit; robes and thoughtful touches were highlighted positively.
Value for Money
8.7/10Generally fair value given credits and included amenities, though valet parking was described as pricey and parking logistics caused anxiety for some guests.
Food and Beverage
9.2/10Food was described positively across stays — breakfast at Il Solito and bar dinners received favorable comments; overall 'pretty good' to 'good' assessments.
Overall Experience
9/10Overall very positive stays with multiple guests saying they'd return; strong service and location balance a few maintenance and parking/service inconsistencies.
