Is old building and even is cleaned beds updated, mattress can be more comfortable…
Easy to get to every in walk distance to Hollywood area. Concert and shopping
Very regal and perfect location!
The quietness and the location.
There was no ice in the ice machine on my floor during my entire stay. I tried other floors and that was the same situation. It was a little disappointing.
The hotel is in a fabulous location for a quick stay such as ours. Room was lovely and had everything we needed - expect coffee making facilities
I would like to be able to make my own coffee in the room. Especially at night when we would like a hot chocolate and werent comfortable going out at that time
Love staying at the Roosevelt when in LA. The pool is amazing & the Cabana Rooms with direct access to it are a must!
Hotel is in an excellent location with a fabulous pool, and we were lucky enough to have a room which overlooked Hollywood Boulevard and the famous sign. Room was a good size and very clean and beds were very comfy.
N/A
You felt like you were on a real holiday. Had no idea was smack down in Hollywood within the resort.
Nothing
We absolutely loved the hotel! It has character and charm, as well as all the Hollywood glamour. Even though LA is huge and moving around is complicated, its location is great! Another thing I’d like to mention is the staff, they were incredibly helpful and nice. Our room’s AC wasn’t working correctly and they were attentive all the time, we even got an upgrade to a king suite which was awesome!

Great location pleasant stay
Air conditioning was noisy and not that effective but was unseasonably hot
Location Location Location Clean room
No coffee maker in the room!?
Location and old-world charm.
Noisy lobby party that upset the sleep of everyone on the fifth floor!
Felt like a film star chilling by the amazing pool, absolutely brilliant. Right in the centre of Hollywood, all the history and glitz, what a cool place!
Great location right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The suite was clean and cozy, with two beds and a great view from the high floor. The pool area was lovely, and the breakfast served there was delicious.
I expected a more comfortable bed. The on-site parking was also quite expensive, but cheaper option available to park on public parking near to the hotel entrance.
The location was amazing. The property was unique and definitely had an old Hollywood feel. The rooms were nicely appointed and the pool area was amazing. Special shout out to David who gave us a tour of this hotel one evening including the penthouses and the roof. Showing us the cabaret behind the bookshelf was super cool. His knowledge of the history of the hotel and the ‘ghosts’ that inhabit it was amazing. It was a highlight of our stay.
The air conditioning in the room. Our first room the cabana garden view room was 76 degrees when we walked in. It would not cool down. Got moved to a cabana patio room which was slightly better but we could not get the temperature under 72 degrees.
charming, convenient , good size rooms nice atmosphere- but a bit dark if you are old and need glasses in the lobby and foyer.
the only complaint was the scheduling of an extremely loud pool party and Music on our first night. went until midnight and was out of character for a Hotel of this calibre I thought
Food at the pool bar was good, as were the bartenders. Pool was nice and relaxing.
Room was what I expected; however, the thermostat didn't move despite trying to lower the temperature and therefore was uncomfortably warm. Also, people below were on their patio talking till 5:45 am so I was unable to sleep well. Suggest they put earplugs in the room to help guest
Bar staff and bellmen was very friendly. Restaurant and bar on property was good.
Bed bugs. Our bed had bed bug blood stains all over the sheets and the cover. I provided photos. When we brought this to management and staff attention the way they handled it was horrible. I was extremely polite about the situation as I know it’s impossible to never have this issue if you stay at hotels but the way it was handled was very poor. We discovered the blood the next morning after we had stayed in the bed, management said we had to “quarantine” in the room in case our stuff was infested and could not move us because we had check out in hours. I am also pregnant and they were fine with us staying in a possibly infested room. They did not change our bedding and we waited around for an hour for someone to come change it out and STILL no one came so we left. When I called the property to say I was unhappy with the way it was handled I talked to management and he said he was happy to handle a refund and come to find out he lied and booking.com only offered a small credit for the inconvenience. The hotel itself is beautiful with a lot of history but unfortunately with this management and staff I would never recommend.
Excellent location. Perfect location for shopping and strolling where all the main attractions were. No need to take a taxi, it was located in the ideal place. It was wonderful that there was a beautiful courtyard area where you could have a lovely breakfast within the hotel. Real value for money.
I did not like darkness as you made your way to the elevator. The corridor was dark and a bit mysterious. I believe you are creating a romantic feel, but it was a bit spooky. You have certainly created that feeling of old, intrique with the colour of the walls and dim lighting.
Location is great right on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with lots of popular attractions within walking distance. Room is as advertised. The staff is super nice and very helpful in all aspects.
Only complaint is over the few days we were there house keeping forgot hand towels and washcloths and floor mat one day, and the next they forgot bath towels and washcloths.
An oasis in Hollywood with the best staff!
The decor...the atmosphere.
Very slow service in the spare room.
Excellent location. Very clean. Super comfortable bed and pillows
Small basin, no room for products. First day at pool bar ordered two drinks from a less than friendly person. My husbands $26 cocktail was less than half full. She had attitude when I asked for ice. I was annoyed she thought it okay to dump a less than half filled drink at our table, in a plastic cup mind you.
Location, Hidden Studio, Pool
Some rude staff members
A plus to Joselyn at the pool area she really know what hospitality is!! 🙌🏼
Good location, the pool area was very good and well organised
Overly expensive, for the quality of food and drinks that are provided on site.
Location of Hotel in Hollywood and access to the metro. Room was clean and comfortable
The bathroom had a dirty rag smell to it. Facilities like the main room booked to events.
Sengen, treningssenteret var fantastisk
Vasken var tett og dusjen var grei
The pool was epic!
Parking cost was very high but I parked in public parking across the street for less than half the price.
The price was too much high for the hotel quality compared with other hotels in different countries with same price or even less
The too small room and toilet
What a beautiful, historic hotel! Just full of Hollywood glamor and right on Hollywood Blvd. Our room had a view of the historic Graumans Chinese theatre and the iconic Hollywood sign. The staff was exceptional, especially the Concierge, Nicholas. Personalized service and incredibly helpful. Everything was clean and the common areas were spectacular. Did I mention the pool? A great place to start the morning or to end your evening
Nothing! There was literally nothing I didnt like.
Buen restaurante y buenas instalaciones.
todo me gusto

Beautiful building Pool was lovely Great location opposite the Chinese theatre surprisingly quiet inside
I think they should have pos coffee makers in the room. I would expect it in hotels of the standard iffact all hotels in USA we had to order a pot of coffee one morning and it was stupidly expensive.
Lokalizacja w centrum Hollywood-wspaniała- blisko do atrakcji. Piękny basen. Bardzo dbający personel o komfort i kontakt z gościem.
-
Piscine tres bien. Chambre super.
The pool
Quite party vibes but it was 4th July
Iconic hotel with great pool in the middle of Hollywood. Special atmosphere due to its history. Great service, especially at the pool and pool restaurant. The staff was very helpful to find sun beds. Good breakfast.
We had a room with 2 double beds but the beds were quite small. A/C didn’t work well.
Excellent room, overlooking Hollywood Blvd, Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre, Hollywood sign and Downtown LA! Bed was super comfy! Great amenities and will be back to this hotel!

Great location
Rooms are dark , lighting needs to be better .. noisy at night
Location was great - right in the action of Hollywood Boulevard
There's a nightclub in the foyer of the hotel and I had a couple of noisy neighbours who were up late playing music / shouting on the Friday night.
Location
Old hotel, too expensive, the carpet in the hallways is dirty and smells bad, Disappointed for the money I paid for the hotel.
Convenient location right on Hollywood Blvd. Metro station is close by. The strip is pretty crowded and rowdy at night.
The first night we arrived they were filming something on site so there was basically only 1 elevator available for use making for loooong waits to get anywhere. It was incredibly frustrating. The hotel itself is beautiful but very dark inside - could be an issue for those with vision limitations. One more issue - we had 4 people in our room but were consistently left with less than 4 bath towels. Sometimes 0, sometimes 2, sometimes 3. But never 4….
Let me start by saying I canceled my reservation for a pool side cabana room shortly after trying to check in, store bag and enjoy a relaxing sunday afternoon by the pool. The hotel's check-in is not till 3 pm and we got to the hotel around noon. I was hoping to store bags and lounge by the pool until checkin and enjoy relaxing afternoon by the pool. The Hotel was completely understaffed, The car valet was beyond rude and it took almost 15 mins just to get our car parked. Once getting into the lobby and speaking to the front desk / doing a preliminary check-in we moved our way to going to look at the pool for a lounge chair. We walked to the pool where the Hostess told us it was "standing room only" The Hotel was utilizing the only pool for a world cup viewing party with a huge screen and blaring speakers at the one of the pool. Come to find out why this looked more like a night club then a chill weekend pool getaway was come to find out The Hotel was allowing outside pedestrians to pay for access to the pool and bar while not taking into any consideration the guests who have paid nightly rates and whom have traveled from near and far to stay at the hotel for the weekend. No seating or pool space was reserved for hotel guests and there was zero accommodations to those actually staying at the hotel. I was beyond disgusted with the service, lack of accommodation and attention to paying guests. We were told we could get on a wait list but there was no guarantee for any seating or pool lounges. We could "hover" and see if anything comes available. The pool deck was an absolute mess and it was honestly my worst nightmare. I immediately went to the front desk and cxled my stay at the hotel. It took about 30-45 mins after give the valet my car tag to find out they never went to get our car... I will never book this hotel again after the despicable service and lack of apology for how poor the over all experience.
Location and history
Expensive
Fabulous central location in Hollywood. Beautiful decor. Pool is gorgeous. Hotel is immaculate.
Nothing.
Location, history and staff
Le lieu est très beau et agréable. Emplacement parfait pour découvrir la zone.
Propreté très moyenne
Room was not clean sufficiently fingerprints on the mirror stains on the bathroom floor. The shower leaked the entire time. Just not a great experience as this was my first time staying at the hotel definitely will not be staying there again or recommending.
Level of cleanliness in the room and throughout the hotel, very dated old carpet with the smell
Property was in a great location, the updates are wonderful, it was great to have the pool and the pool cafe was nice.
The balcony furniture was uncomfortable and appeared to be there just for pictures. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable and the furniture that they had in the room wasn’t necessarily for comfortable seating. It appeared that it was there for pictures. It looked really good, but it wasn’t really usable as far as just having seats to sit in other than a really low bed.
Everything. The staff and facilities were great.
Nothing
We’ve been staying at this hotel for years and have always loved it but the new management is awful! So many mishaps that never occurred before, most notably, the hotel partnering with an outside company to sell tickets to the pool so guests have nowhere to sit after waiting in a line and finding spots. We were literally told to leave our pool chairs as the hotel sold them to outside patrons who were not staying at the hotel. The only reason why we will even consider coming back is because of the amazing customer service from Ally and Aiden—they should probably run the place.
This was our fourth year in a row with a summer stay here, and this year it was an awful experience. Management sold hundreds of passes to non-guests for a 4th of July pool party. Then they closed the pool from noon to 2:00 and made guests line up to get back in and try to claim a pool chair. Although we were only the 12th guests in line, no seats were available because most of them were marked “Reserved” for the non-guests. I spoke to the manager at the front desk but was told “sorry”. What kind of greedy hotel management does this to their paying customers? Beware if you’re thinking about booking here…your satisfaction does not appear to be the top priority for this management group.

The location is perfect for tourism but is also central for other purposes as well. While I expected such an old building to be slightly uncomfortable, I found the renovations had kept it up to date. They were able to maintain the charm of its history while also achieving modern comfort.
The parking situation is awful. There is no option for self-parking and the obligatory valet parking is 75 dollars. There is a private garage across the street that charges 30 per day, but the hotel should provide options to its guests directly.
Location and ataff
Clean, comfortable and convenient. The pool is awesome
Location Size of the room
Staff telling us we could not use professional camera to take picture Restaurant was closed No in-room coffee set up Cost of on-site parking Hotel was very cold It was my daughter's birthday but hotel did not offer even a complementary cookie!
EVERYTHING! From the time we arrived to the moment we left the staff, food, drinks and our room were just amazing! The pool and pool service was fabulous! This made our stay to attend the Rod Stewart Concert at Hollywood Bowl unforgettable!
Having to leave!
Good parts: Iconic landmark hotel on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Great bar in "Spare Room". But, we arrived and they were filming for Netflix, and hosting a VIP event. So we couldn't use the bar, pool, lobby or restaurant. Basic room has the charm of Alcatraz. Day 2 still filming. But pool open, how're there was another event going on there. So technically open but you are in a strangers event. Out of three days we managed one night in the bar and an afternoon in a corner of the pool area when the main rooms were available to paying guests. The staff understood our issues and gave us some credits for bar etc. But couldn't do the requested refund as we had booked through an agent. So, if your a local going for a party, and stopping one night, it's perfect. If your going there on holiday,go somewhere else and try to visit a bar there to get the vibe of the Tropicana pool or Spare roo m cocktail bowling bar while avoiding the dingy, small, dark, tired bedrooms.
We had an enjoyable stay here. The location was perfect for what we wanted.
Hotel is older so tired in places.
Never in my long years of staying in hotels have I come across such total incompetence. Is anyone with a functional IQ working at this dump? I made reservations on line, but when trying to access them, I get a message saying no reservation exists. This, despite me having a confirmation number on their form. I emailed the hotel twice....NO REPLY. I tried calling them on the phone. THEY NEVER ANSWER. Whoever manages this hotel should be fired and someone with at least a modicum of ability put in place.
Old charm
Bathroom and room were small but that was obviously due to age of the building
The lication is perfect, the building is beautiful, the pool is fantastic with great bar and staff is very helpful
A bigger chest of drawers would be nice
This hotel is so lovely, great location. Take the hike up the nearby canon. Must spend time at the pool and Shirley bar is so fun and great food. Gorgeous hotel.
Posizione
Pulizia scade, molte aree dell’hotel chiuse
The staff was very accommodating, especially considering there were many complaints from us and other guests. I have stayed there before and had a lovely time. This time, things were dirty in the room (like mold in the widows and smudges in the blinds). Most of the hotel facilities were also off limits to guest due to special parties going on. Even the pool was often off limits. I would never stay here again. It was an extreme disappointment. Nothing like it used to be. One bright point was that the staff was impeccable. The beds are still confortable too.
Easy check in, clean room, mostly quiet
I hate leaving a bad review for a hotel that I actually like. Unfortunately, this particular stay has been a significant disappointment. I traveled here for business meetings and intentionally planned to host clients at the hotel because the lobby and pool areas provide such a great environment for informal meetings. At no point before arrival was I informed that the lobby would be closed during my stay. I only learned about it at check-in, at which time I was encouraged to use the Tropicana Café by the pool instead. Everything else on the property was unavailable: the bars, restaurant, the historic lobby etc. Based on the recommendation from the front desk that the pool bar and seating area was open, I moved my meetings there. However, when my clients arrived, we were informed that the pool area and Tropicana Café were closed for a production shoot. This left me scrambling for alternatives in front of my clients and created a very embarrassing situation. My frustration is less about the closures themselves and more about the lack of communication and the fact that the staff was quite dismissive of my concerns. I got the usual “we apologize for the inconvenience but you should have known” Just wow. To add insult to injury, I was charged a daily “amenity fee” even though the amenities were not available. The hotel has two opportunities to communicate these closures: prior to arrival and at check in. They failed on both accounts. Had I known in advance that both the lobby and pool areas would be unavailable, I would have simply made other arrangements before arriving. It’s too bad that a place I like left me with such a bad impression that I likely will not return.
My partner and I stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt in August 2025, and we honestly couldn't fault it. From the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The building itself is stunning and has that iconic LA glamour and atmosphere that makes you feel like you're truly experiencing Hollywood. We stayed in a Cabana Room, which was beautifully decorated and the perfect size for two people. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay, always happy to help with anything we needed. My partner is a personal trainer and made good use of the gym facilities. He was really impressed with the quality of the equipment, which says a lot as he knows what to look for in a gym. The staff also went above and beyond on his birthday by bringing him a birthday cookie and singing Happy Birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made his day extra special. During our stay, the air conditioning in our room stopped working. However, the hotel dealt with the issue immediately and upgraded us to a Cabana Room with a poolside view at no extra cost. The upgraded room was absolutely beautiful, and we were extremely grateful for how quickly and professionally the situation was handled. The pool area is one of the highlights of the hotel. The atmosphere is incredible – everyone is relaxed, having fun, and enjoying themselves. The hotel regularly hosts pool parties, which added to the vibrant LA experience. One evening, they even set up a large projector by the pool and screened a movie under the stars. It genuinely felt like something straight out of a film and was one of our favourite memories from the trip. The location is also fantastic. It's right on Hollywood Boulevard, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions, yet we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet our room was. We loved our stay so much that we've already booked to come back. If you're looking for a hotel that combines luxury, history, fantastic service, and an authentic Hollywood atmosphere, the Hollywood Roosevelt is the perfect choice.
Goede locatie
Very good loved the atmosphere. Staff was warm and friendly. Food was awesome,

Half of a week we were here, the pool and area is out of bounds due to events. This is a huge disappointment so be careful if booking this hotel. Hotel guests are not even to,d about this. The rooms are ok but lack storage. Location is central. Won’t be coming back.
Good location, some nice areas
Booking obnoxious private parties by the pool for 2/3 days we were there so you couldn’t enjoy what you paid for! Mixed experience with staff, some lovely, some couldn’t care less, same with food there were some decent dishes but others were trash. It feels tired in certain areas and certainly feels like it is struggling compared to previous years. Short sighted cash grabbing rather than making great experiences for guests. Will not be returning!
Location and pool area
Lack of restaurant/bar facilities
I’d be careful when you book. If there’s an event (like FIFA, Hollywood Bowl, etc.) they will close the pool (to guests) so they can generate revenue from “special events” around the pool several times a day. $200-ish a head for events and “watch” parties (10am-noon, 2:30-5:30, and 7:30 til whenever). Guests need to get wristbands from surly security types stationed around the property. What are they watching? Mostly each other, drinking, and absorbing at least 100dB of beats from banks of 1500W speakers. Hearing loss anyone? You’ll be leaving the property to get away from it. Our 4th and maybe last visit - we basically had no time around the pool to enjoy the usually excellent service and F&B. Which anyone will tell you is a big part of THR experience. Bummer.
I've always wanted to stay here and did so last weekend. Pros: Beautiful, vintage hotel, great, helpful, friendly staff, price not too insane, great a/c and comfortable bed. Cons: No signage for parking while checking in, no signage for front desk, most chaotic check-in ever of my life, HUGE cockroach in the bathroom, no bedside lighting, valet $75.00 daily, food so-so, automatic 18% fee added to all food and bar tabs without any notice, $35 destination fee (not noted anywhere on making reservation or at check-out), promised e-mail of bill that never arrived (had to call accounting to get one). At check-in lobby ,filled with tons of people waiting for a third party event at the pool. Gate keeper for that wouldn't let me go to my room after check-in (it was by the pool) despite having the front desk clerk with me. (He finally relented after I showed my room key and he banded me!) So, probably not again.

The historical charm
Check-in and check out service poor
The room was very nice. Love the character of the hotel
Unfortunate that there is no self parking
We have stayed at this Hotel 3 times before and enjoyed its elegance and fabulous service. This last visit was a total shock and we will not be returning. One of the best features, aside from its historic relevance, is the pool. We were not able to access the pool. It was sold out to third party vendors Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you wanted to go to the pool on Sunday, you had to buy a chair ranging in cost from $200-$1000 from the outside vendor! It was bottle service only. It was 11:15 in the morning. I spoke with the food and beverage assistant director and she said, “What? Didn’t anybody text you about these events? No…nobody texted us about anything related to being shut out of the pool during our stay. She responded with, “ Well, this was just booked this week.” I assume she was referring to “bottle service Sunday” hosted by a third party World Cup Vendor. She pointed out a cushion, part of a display bench, that we could sit on if we wanted to stay at the pool. There were two more “events”. We were asked to leave the pool at 2:30 on Friday, no access on Saturday and Sunday was previously discussed. I thought about the families who could not play in the pool. It was hot this weekend. Not a hotel anymore. It is now an event center and there is no warning. Room service was fabulous. The food is good. The bar is good. The pool is a nightmare and you can’t use it anyway since it is sold out to third party vendors limiting guest access.
Perfect!
