Near the public transit, many food options surrounding the hotel, our room was very clean, bed was very comfortable

Check in time was 4pm. I think they overbooked because there were lots of guests waiting for their rooms. When I checked in , they told me no rooms available yet and they would call me once available, around 5.23 Pm I went back to check and I told the front desk that I’ve been waiting for their call but never got one, that’s when they gave me a room, only then I got a call from them around 5.28 PM. When I got the room, the whole family was so tired from driving 4 hours so we didn’t have the energy to go out to eat so we decided to request room Service our food. We ordered Caesar salad, steam,chicken and sandwich. To my dissatisfaction, there was a hair in the caesar salad, i didn’t complain, i didn’t have the energy to complain anymore.

Check in was 4pm but they said room wasn't ready. Waited for 1 1/2hr to be checked in. I was so tired and I wanted to rest but nobody could tell me when I can check in. After getting a call to check in, I still have to fall in line (which is very long) to do the process.

Dog friendly had a place on the second floor for her to play. We didn’t have to go outside of the building

The drinks in the lounge were so expensive.

The hotel was clean and stylish. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff were professional and kind. The food in the restaurant was delicious and far exceeded my expectations for a hotel.

The terrace on the 2nd floor could definitely use a makeover. It had artificial turf rugs and weird looking furniture. It is dog friendly but doesn't feel like a welcoming place for a dog or a human. The ice machines are not conveniently located. There are no vending machines and the pantry could be stocked with more variety of items since they have enough space.

Everything is fantastic! The staff is friendly and there is a restaurant inside the hotel with great food and rooms are always immaculate. Will only stay there anytime we head to Oakland!

I did not eat breakfast. The room was clean with 2 trash bins and 1 recycle bin. I liked the tub because i love to have a bath when traveling. The hot water and water pressure are good.

The check-in clerk over charged me $200 and created a money access issue for me. I specifically told her 2xs I paid with Booking.com. She still charged me after telling me she only charged for the valet. The lighting was strange. The bed was kinda lumpy. I did not like the location. The ceiling in the room was old and dingy.

Really easy to get to whether you're driving or using the public transit, as it was only about a 4-minute walk from the BART station. They also have valet for an extra fee which is nice when you're coming from a fair distance away. Everybody was very friendly the room was super comfortable had a great view from the high floors. Would stay there again

Fast check in. Never had to wait for an elevator. Good location. Comfortable bed.

Lighting in room not optimal. Needed a light in the closet and the light near the couch was not in the right place for reading. Also room had an odd sofa not comfortable for 2 people. Breakfast at the restaurant wasn't good and was expenisive. Overall the decor wasn't attractive.

The elevator noise that was very loud in our room, we have stayed in rims near elevators but have never encountered that loud noise

Staff were excellent, courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was great and everyone efforts to make the trip great.

Although I ran into booking issues, I was happy with my room.

I pre-paid my stay through booking.com, however, when I checked in, I was told by the front desk that no payment was showing for my stay. I showed my confirmation email from booking.com but the front desk clerk told me I needed to pay directly to the hotel in order for me and my wife to stay and to call booking.com to resolve any issues. I was very upset because there should be better communication between the hotel and any third-party booking facility involved.

They charge too much for parking. They don’t allow guess whom are handicap with placard to park in the handicap there employee’s who aren’t handicap park there instead.

Great hotel for staying. The metro station and ferry are close to visiting SF. A lot of cafes and restaurants around.

Rooms needed some TLC. Ceilings and some minor details were aged. Shower was not very hot early in the morning.

The parking when booking it stated the cost was $45 but it was actually $75 so I felt a little mislead.

The location was great. Nice part of Oakland. High walking index score. Near historic Swann's. Near Jack London Square. We went to the Fat Lady Bar and Restaurant. GREAT comfort food and drinks.

Valet was slow as molasses. They need more staffing. I hope Marriott Bonvoy doesn't think the valet service at the Oakland Marriott as acceptable. The coffee maker in our room was more appropriate of a budget hotel. The cord on the coffee maker was SO short it would reach the floor to the outlet. If you moved it to the nightstand next to where it was sitting, it barely fits bc the lamp is in the way. The parking lane labelling is confusing: rideshare left lane, drop off right lane. So we went right lane, told the door man we're checking in and using valet. The door man responded, you need to be in the right lane and seemed upset that we were in the wrong lane. Then, we'd left some toiletries in the car. We asked could they bring the car so we could fetch them. The valet said they were too busy and gave me instructions on how to go get them myself! Is this on brand Marriott Bonvoy??? I think the better approach could have been, "Would you mind coming back in 30m when we're less peak and I can assist you." Then when were checking in the person spoke so quickly and softly I couldn't make out what he was saying. I said "I really can't hear a word you are saying." He did not speak any louder or repeated the information until I asked.

I was very unimpressed that WIFI wasn’t free with my room (it was a suite)

We really liked our room. It had a great view of SF. We loved wine in the lobby for Happy Hour. And we liked the staff at the restaurant. Overall excellent experience. We were there for 5 nights. Very comfortable.

We didn't like that we would be charged for internet of we weren't members of Marriott Bonvoy. We were, but really. It's 2026. Who. charges for internet anymore?
