They staff was very accommodating
It could have been cleaner and was very pricey
Was a lovely inn, the river setting makes it really peaceful for a very busy area, lovely seating area with rocking chairs and seating.. was beautiful.. excellent for families as there is a play atea with lots of toys. Brilliant location. Beds comfortable. Would stay again
Nothing we disliked but rooms are quite dated very dark but very clean and comfortable, the lobby has sofas and a tv.
Breakfast was hot and there was plenty to go around.
Beautiful views of the water. We had breakfast outside every morning. Staff was very attentive. We had our Motorcycle and parking was very trailer friendly.
convenient and on the water
We love this place and have stayed here before. We love the river and location, along with the snacks in the evening!
I loved the staff. They were so friendly and they text you to make sure that everything is OK throughout your stay. I also loved how comfortable the beds were, and I loved the balcony overlooking the river with the views of the ducks and the geese. It was also great that they give you cucumber, water and fresh baked cookies around four in the afternoon and then at night they have fresh popped popcorn.
The property kind of had a musty smell. It would be really nice if they could get a good smell in their lobby like the Westin has. Also, the third floor where we stayed had a weird smell.
Location, amenities and value
Loved our room on 1st floor near the food area. Loved it has 2 pools.
Wish checkout was later.
Clean and family friendly
Very clean love staying there
Very nice stay, staff very friendly, great location, will hopefully stay there again
it was a little humid in room, felt damp,
Very clean the breakfast was very good lots of choices
I enjoyed everything about the place. I liked looking at the river. The breakfast was great.
The mattress was my biggest problem. I woke up with alot of back pain.
The property was beautiful & great location
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and attentive. Loved the popcorn that was offered every night!
Location and accommodating staff.
It was very nice and clean
Decent free breakfast, by the river w/ river view.
Oolder dated hotel, could use some remodeling.
The view. We loved sitting on the balcony watching the ducks & geese.
Could update the carpet but other than that everything was perfect.
The river view eating breakfast.
When I stay in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, I stay at the Inn On The River! It's always immaculate and convenient to everything. The staff is so friendly and helpful...really southern, and when I come home I like that. It is so relaxing to sit out on the room balcony by the river. This place has EVERYTHING that the more expensive "name" hotels have to offer. It's my go to stay.
The Inn on the River in Pigeon Forge was excellent. On short notice we decided to take a couple of days for a last trip of summer vacation. I had seen a few posts of The Inn on the River and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The rooms were nice and clean, at a reasonable price. My daughter loved the pools and hot tub. Definitely will go back!
We have a wonderful experience with The Inn on the River which started with Madison who booked our reservation. She was the kind of employee you would want to clone for her genuine warmth, knowledge and courteous nature. Our whole experience with The Inn ended with our dreading to leave.
Very nice and clean. Beds were comfortable.
Just got back from staying there for 7 nights .We have stayed there multiple times I would still give them 5 stars Great Friendly staff James and Brian and the other crew sorry i forgot names are great to deal with check in was easy. The food staff Daniel and wyatt and the crew worked very hard at the breakfast very good selection of food and very clean great job. Also a big shout out to Nathan at the pool He opened the door so i could get my Grandson shirt he left in there after hours thank you. And last the cleaning crew did a great job on our room all we needed was fresh towels but they made the beds and cleaned daily your crew worked very hard. If you are looking for a nice place to stay that is still family owned this is the place for you it is clean, friendly, Breakfast,2 pools, hottub, close to everything and best of all they won't gouge you on the price what more could you ask for we will be back thank you from steve and kathy king and family 5 stars
Great room literally on the river. A lot of the places say they are on the river, but they're not! Very friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. A very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Great for families! Had some issues with a third party reservation. And Brian went above and beyond to get it, straightened out. Even the manager Barbie who was home got involved. If you're thinking about staying in Gatlinburg. Pigeon Forge is very close and much nicer and spread out. We actually stayed two extra days.
My 7-year-old grandson loved the breakfast as did I. The complimentary popcorn, cookies, cucumber water, coffee, and cappuccino were a wonderful addition to our stay.
The early morning noise of people going down the hallway to breakfast.
All of the property was excellent
Not anything
The beautiful location on the river; the quiet, relaxing atmosphere; the delightful breakfast; the cleanliness and care of our room; the friendly and helpful staff—you get the picture!!
Can’t think of anything
It was great. Loved the breakfast and free popcorn!
All was a good experience.
Breakfast food was good.
Breakfast layout is congested in small area. Menu standard.
Easy check in and check out
The bathroom smelled like mold. In the shower specifically, the weird metal plate thing is trapping mold that clearly isn't cleaned after every use. It's gross and smells horrible.
Beautiful
The river view room with patio was excellent, very clean, comfortable, and quiet. We've been coming to the Smokies for 30 years and this was our first stay there and it was the best place we've ever stayed. We enjoyed popcorn time, the great breakfast, feeding the ducks (proper food) and just the overall family-like feel. The entire staff was fantastic, they made sure you had everything you needed, and greeted you every time you walked by a staff member. For it being right on the main strip of Pigeon Forge, you couldn't tell because it felt so secluded and quiet, but yet so close to everything and you could walk to a lot of things. We will stay here for now on, no complaints at all.
This hotel was excellent and is somewhere we would recommend people to stay. It's located on the river and, although it's closer to the road than we thought from the photos beforehand, it is really peaceful of an evening watching the geese try to get into the seed container. The hotel is centrally located and is around a 15-minute walk to The Island and 10 minutes to the Publix supermarket. It has multiple restaurants within walking distance with the Bullfish Grill being a particular favourite of ours. Positives: 1. The atmosphere of the hotel was really nice. The reception and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful and the evening cookies, hot chocolate and popcorn were really nice touches. The fireplace in reception and the fire pit all added to the atmosphere of the hotel and so we can see why there are so many good reviews on here. 2. The free morning breakfast was excellent with people regularly attending to it to ensure that it was fully stocked. There were variations throughout the week and so we enjoyed eating there every morning. 3. Although I've already mentioned the location, we thought it was really well placed. We had the use of a hire car but didn't feel the need to use it as we could walk to most places and also used the trolley bus service. On mentioning the trolley, we found this to be an excellent service and, although not part of the hotel, thought it was worth a mention. We went to Dollywood a few times and thought the $3 each day pass (and $1 to get to The Old Mill to buy the day pass) was much better than paying for parking on-site at Dollywood. Another option is to use the free parking at The Old Mill bus station and pay the $3 day pass to get to Dollywood. 4. The grounds were very well maintained and there was plenty of parking. We arrived too early to check in but reception were fine with us parking there and exploring The Island whilst our room was getting ready for us. 5. The laundry room was great to use and so we used that a few times during our stay to cut down on the washing once we got home to the UK. Negatives: 1. In the second half of our stay, buses turned up with a lot of loud US kids. We had found the first half of our stay peaceful with mostly older people staying there. However, when the kids arrived, we found them to be loud and disrespectful. They used the pool and left the floor soaking wet. They also ran up and down the corridor at all hours and were very noisy. Whilst this is not the fault of the hotel, we do question them allowing large groups of kids to stay here as it did affect the atmosphere e.g. breakfast went from a nice, peaceful affair to being really busy and loud. 2. Although the rooms were decent, we had two double beds in our room when we only needed one. It would have been nicer to have a seating area in the room. Also, there was a microwave in the room but no cutlery or crockery to use so that felt a bit useless and redundant being in the room. We did see other people using the crockery in the breakfast area but weren't sure if that was allowed. The rooms were also very dark with no ceiling light. This made it a bit difficult to get ready in the morning as opening the curtains (drapes) in the morning sometimes meant you saw people walking passed the window. Overall, it was an excellent hotel which we really enjoyed staying at. If we came back to Pigeon Forge, we'd want to stay here which is a sign of a great hotel. It was also a perfect setting for our honeymoon too.
The inn was decorated nicely, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the included breakfast had great variety and tasted great. Its the best included breakfast I've had. All staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.
Great hotel overlooking the river. They have a great breakfast buffet and the hotel is close to all attractions.
The staff was friendly. They had sparkling cider ready with champagne flutes and flower petals for us as it was our honeymoon! Loved the room and the river and the ducks!!! Will remember it for the rest of our lives.
Very clean , good service and all you need was given with a great attitude and very professional. Enjoy being back everytime.
We have always enjoyed staying at the Inn on the River. Great family atmosphere, nice clean rooms, great breakfast. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are always clean and lobby is always nicely decorated. Just an overall great experience.
The Inn on the River was amazing! The staff was so gracious and helpful. It delivered everything I expected and more. The hotel common areas and ground were beautiful and so well maintained. They had extra little things that made you feel welcome at every turn like snacks in the afternoon, umbrellas and toys at the pool, games and book in the lounge. The room was clean and comfortable and exactly as described, but the best part was that our first floor patio opened up onto a river walk where we could sit and relax, feed the ducks and enjoy stunning views of the mountains and river. Enjoying our patio space and feeding the ducks was the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed it so much we extended our stay, which the staff made effortless for us! I am already planning a trip back and bringing the entire family. The Inn on the River was the perfect blend of fun and relaxing, accessible to the attractions, but quiet enough to enjoy ourselves and relax.
The entire stay was excellent
Na
I thought the breakfast was ok. The eggs tasted like a mix and would have liked bacon other than just one day a week.
The beds were too soft and housekeeping didn't make our beds while we were out and the sheets were old and fuzzy. There was dirt behind our bathroom door on arrival also.
The Inn on the River never disappoints . The staff is awesome, the facility is extra clean. The location is perfect. We love to sit on the covered porch or around the fire pit and watch the fishermen and the kids playing in the river. The breakfast was great!!! Best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. This was our 3rd time staying with you folks and we’re hooked. Thank you for the 24 hour coffee, the delicious cookies at 4:00 and the popcorn at 7:00, my three favorite food groups. I honestly don’t know how anyone that has stayed at The Inn on the River could ever stay anywhere else. We love you folks! We’ll be back!
It was close to a lot of Stuff that we could walk to
We had a little trouble with the key
The room was very clean and every staff member was courteous and friendly. We had a balcony room and enjoyed the peaceful view, especially in the early morning !
We loved our location, which was close to attractions and restaurants. The hotel was very clean and the staff(managers, kitchen staff and housekeepers) were friendly and provided awesome service. We loved everything about The Inn on the River. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for very clean and affordable rooms, good breakfasts and helpful staff. We plan to stay again. Big thank you for Brian, who gave us directions and suggestions to restaurants and attractions.
Love staying here, nice clean rooms and they have popcorn and cookies every evening and drinks.
We love staying here. Always the best experience. They have the best breakfast. The staff are always polite, friendly and welcoming. The view of the river is very relaxing
I really liked my room with the fireplace and jacuzzi tub I also liked the view of the River from my room the evening events were great with the popcorn and 24/7 coffee and tea and drink service balcony was great very friendly and comfortable environment
Housekeeping could be a little more detailed attentive
This is one the best hotels we have stayed. We have been staying here for many years. At least three times a year (total of nine days). The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The lobby is always kept clean. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The patio overlooking the river is very relaxing. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful (specially Christy).
Everthing
Loved the property, everything was nice and clean.
Rooms were small
Beautiful, clean, and friendly place. This hotel clearly cares for guest comfort not nickels and dimes. The attentiveness of the staff, full breakfast spread, views of the river, and the little touches in the rooms is what sets the Inn apart from the mainstream hotels in Pigeon Forge. My husband and I enjoyed our relaxing one night getaway and looking forward to returning with our daughter for our next one.
So much more than a chain hotel. Sitting on the edge of the river, it feels like you are in this wooded area, even though the business of Pigeon Forge is all around you. With all the perks (2 pools, cookies and popcorn to nibble on, huge breakfast bar} you feel like you're really at your grandmother's house, being taken care of by people who love you, and want to make you happy.
Wonderful location, excellent breakfast
I couldn't stay longer
enjoy just being there, sitting by the river feeding the ducks and geese; watching the cranes and herons (birds). I enjoy and appreciate the treats (cookies) and snacks (popcorn) that you offer daily. I enjoyed the craft activity that is offered too. Everyone is nice and helpful. The facility is very clean, quiet, and inviting. The room was clean and the beds are comfortable. The grounds are well kept and landscaped. Offers 2 swimming pools and a jacuzzi/hot tub for your enjoyment. The breakfast buffet is delicious and it has something for everyone. This is definitely my pick for a hotel to stay in when visiting Pigeon Forge, TN; it's centralized to popular shows and activities with competitive rates (great value for the money).
This place never disappoints! The staff is friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was very clean, breakfast delicious, hot tub a Godsend after a big day of shopping. Both inside and outside pools were great. Would highly recommend!!
Room was so nice over looking the river. Staff were so kind excellent customer service.
Stayed 4 days for our anniversary. The Inn on the River was exceptional great breakfast kind staff very clean nice room beautiful outdoors around fire pit and river
We are always greeted nicely and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
Great breakfast, love the location and the firepit
Lighting over the coffee maker
Loved the hotel and the staff were lovely, location was great so much more to do in pigeon forge than we realised.
The room was great. The staff very friendly and helpful. The property was very clean as always and the best breakfast!
The landscaping was beautiful they had several places you could sit by the river and relax. Close to everything,Staff was very pleasant a lot of room inside and out to eat breakfast. Beds were very comfortable ,walk in shower was great. And maintenance was out every morning cleaning up. And one neat thing was the bible was open and had a prayer printed for your stay. Whoever is in charge of this hotel is was great to religious options around. Could of used a comfortable chair in room
Reading people’s reviews said the breakfast was good well it really was just like any other hotel same options no real eggs, sausages every day where’s the bacon and one day we didn’t get down there till 9:30 and everything was pretty much gone and they didn’t even fill everything back up and there was a lot of people still wanting to eat.
Absolutely pleased with our stay. The staff were very friendly. The families and visitors were also very friendly. The lobby was pleasant and the inside/outside seating area by the River was very relaxing and calming to sit and have afternoon coffee while watching a squirrel and a family of mallards. The kids loved feeding the ducks with the food provided. The hotel and rooms are clean and very well maintained. We were pleased with the variety of breakfast selection and the length of time available was great. Coffee being available at all hours was wonderful. We were able to grab coffee when leaving at 5am. I am not crazy about hotels but this hotel was a pleasant added attraction to our vacation.
We were in a room smaller than last time on the 4th floor. That was a little disappointing. The breakfast and the cleanliness were top level. No complaints there. The room was cleaned and the breakfast was hot with a variety.
My room was smaller.
The location and the river
Room size and distance to rooms
The Inn on the River should be on everyone's bucket list when staying in the Smokies. The rooms are very well maintained, the hotel has amazing amenities, and the staff is super friendly. It is within a short walk of just about anywhere you would want to go.
My family and I recently spent two nights at the Inn on the River, and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we've ever had. We were so impressed that we've already decided this will be our hotel of choice whenever we return to Pigeon Forge. What initially attracted us was the river. My husband and I love moving water, and all three of us love birds. While many hotels advertise pools and breakfast buffets (which the Inn also mentioned!), the Inn on the River highlighted the beautiful riverfront setting, and that was exactly what convinced us to book our stay. The reality exceeded our expectations. We booked a river-view room, and it was worth every penny. Throughout our stay, we watched ducks, ducklings, geese, pigeons, squirrels, and other wildlife from our room and the outdoor patios. The hotel even provides duck food, which quickly became one of our favorite activities. The grounds were spotless despite the number of birds, and we noticed staff hosing down the walkways daily to keep everything clean and pleasant for guests. The breakfast buffet was excellent and added tremendous value to our stay. Each morning there was a generous selection including eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, grits, oatmeal, waffles, muffins, bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, and more. Everything was well-stocked and the dining area was clean and welcoming. The staff was quick to refill empty pans, bring out clean dishes, and clean tables after guests. Breakfast ended at 10, and there was plenty of food available until that time! To welcome guests, the staff provided cool cucumber water and cookies on a sideboard just inside the entrance. We also loved popcorn hour in the evening, where the staff provided popcorn and access to fountain drinks. It was a nice way to end the evening, sitting by the fireplace and chatting. I also want to mention how well the staff clean the popcorn machine! It was spotless when they were done! The amenities were outstanding. We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor pools, and the hot tub became a favorite evening destination. We were pleasantly surprised to find fresh towels available at the pool as well as a closet full of pool toys for families to use. It was clear that the hotel had thoughtfully considered what guests might need before they even had to ask. That same attention to detail was evident throughout the property. Housekeeping refreshed our room daily, replacing towels and toiletries, making the beds, and removing trash. There was a small convenience shop stocked with practical items like snacks, laundry detergent, and hair ties at very reasonable prices. It's clear that these items are provided to genuinely help guests, not to turn a big profit. The front desk was staffed 24 hours a day, and guests were provided with a text number if they needed extra towels, blankets, or assistance. What impressed us most was the atmosphere. Despite being located in the middle of a busy tourist destination, the Inn on the River felt peaceful, welcoming, and relaxing. Somehow, the noise of Pigeon Forge just didn't make it into the property. It was very quiet! And we didn't hear a peep from other rooms oe the hall for our entire stay. Inexplicably, cell service is also much better in the hotel than in the rest of Pigeon Forge. We spent hours reading on the patios, enjoying the river views, and simply slowing down. It felt less like a hotel and more like a place that genuinely cared about hospitality. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, and we made sure to tell them before we left how much we appreciated our stay. There is so much value provided for the price. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, cleanliness, thoughtful service, and a beautiful riverside setting, I cannot recommend the Inn on the River highly enough. It was the highlight of our trip, and we are already looking forward to returning.
Very friendly, courteous a d professional staff. Clean room with a calming environment right on the river. Great stay and reasonable pricing for the location. I would stay again for certain.
Clean, quiet rooms with an excellent breakfast each morning. All hotel staff was friendly, helpful and nice.
My husband and I stayed here for our 23rd wedding anniversary and it could not have been more perfect. Helpful and friendly staff. Pretty wood hallways and exceptionally beautiful rooms. We got the King suite with fireplace and jacuzzi with balcony. It was so cozy and felt like “home.” I cannot wait to go back and stay again. 10/10 without a doubt!
We absolutely loved our stay at Inn on the River! From the moment we arrived, the staff made our family feel welcome. My daughter was thrilled to receive a complimentary goodie bag and had so much fun painting a free ceramic craft during our stay. The little extras really made a difference—free popcorn in the evening was a fun treat, and the breakfast each morning was fantastic with plenty of options for everyone. One of our favorite parts was the beautiful river view and watching the ducks. It was peaceful, relaxing, and gave the hotel such a special charm. The combination of great amenities, thoughtful touches for kids, friendly staff, and the gorgeous setting made this one of our favorite hotel stays. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in Sevierville! ❤️ Highly recommend for families looking for a fun and relaxing getaway.
We loved everything about this place. The staff were very attentive and caring. The rooms were clean and the shower was spacious.
The rooms could be a bit bigger because the luggage trolly takes up what little walking space there is.
Close access to everything. Clean and comfortable. Large selection for breakfast and evening snacks. Staff is so helpful.
Nothing
, breakfast were great, hotel clean but location on the river was magnificent
rooms a little small
Very nice facilities
Beautiful view & very friendly staff!
The elevator was broke at the time of our checkout, so we had to take the stairs with very heavy luggage.
Good breakfast
Lighting in room. Too dark
This is the second time we have stayed here. We came back because we had a great experience. The location, the beautiful river, the room the people who work there and the breakfast was all great. We will come back again.
Nothing! Keep doing a great job!
Everything was wonderful. Great Smoky Mountain vibe!
Everything was great!
Everything was great!
We loved the hotel. It was amazing because we was on the river and the shower was amazing. Staff was friendly. Popcorn and cookies and drinks were served nightly 7 to 10. We'll be back
Loved it all
Me and my husband recently went back to our favorite place the Inn on the River. The atmosphere and the rooms are always nice, and they did some new recent updated touches that made it feel even more homey than it already does. My husband has PTSD and feels right at home and relaxed. It is definitely an amazing place for veterans and families. This is one of the best quietest, calming, relaxing, places that we go and stay, and we absolutely love being there have been going for many years and many times in the year. We look forward to many more stays and excellent memories at our home away from home.
