Gorgeous property right next to the river. Lovely and helpful front desk staff, modern bathroom and good amenities. A few minutes walk from the town, which was convenient. 5 minutes drive from Henley Business School. Lush and green.
Immaculate interior , polite staff , very comfortable
Bedroom was a little small ( although the bathroom was perfect)
What a fantastic find, although essentially a members club, hotel guests are treated equally. Friendley and helpful staff and a fantastic breakfast. Located adjacent to the town centre, which was marvellous and better still on the banks of the River Thames. Look forward to returning...
The bedroom felt a little dated and didn't have much of a view.
The staff, the architecture, the atmosphere..
Rooms a bit pokey...
Beautiful setting and location
Lack of air con and the room was exceptionally hot and uncomfortable because of that. The rest of the hotel wasn't as hot
Great location. Very traditional! Good bar. Good breakfast. Used pool which was very pleasant.
Bathroom and breakfast including breakfast staff who were friendly and attentive
The room had a very large leak in the roof, and staining to the carpet below. It rained, and we had to place a waste paper bin to catch the drips The furniture and door frames were heavily chipped. The digital clock in the bathroom mirror was flash, but had not been updated to BST: this should have happened in March. The room should not have been let out at the price charged. We felt that we had been ripped off. Reception staff were unresponsive to our complaint and the manager did not make the promised follow-up call.
IT was very original and all the staff were friendly and happy to help as it was my first visit
Very good condition
The location was fantastic
Nothing
Beautiful location with the highest standards throughout
Not something I've ever experienced before, bur piano tuning woke us up!
The happy ambiance of the public spaces where women felt comfortable sitting either by themselves or with a companion.
I don't have any complaints

We loved the outdoor space and the lake view. We also loved that it was only 10 minutes walking distance to the town and restaurants.
Fiestly, We were refused access to the pool and spa. We arrived early and asked if we could use the facilities while we waited. The answer was no. We were told we could only access the facilities after the 3pm check-in. Only to then be told at 3pm that the facilities closed at 4pm. Considering check-in took about 29 minutes, that left no time at all. We were only there for 1 night and were leaving early the next day, so we did not get to use or relax in the pool or spa area. Secondly, there was a fire alarm in the early hours. That would have been fine, except the alarm kept going off at intervals throughout the night. We did not get a wink of sleep and were exhausted by the morning.
Excellent breakfast, all freshly made on request. The dining room is a beautiful room with wonderful views over the River and the Club. Excellent service.
Location, phenomenal
Room 3 was brilliant but room 11 was basic.
Staff are attentive & excellent. The grounds are stunning and on the river with only a short walk to the high street. Breakfast was superb with a great view of the lawns and river too. Beds were comfortable with big modern bathrooms. Plenty of communal areas to relax in.
No air con in the room and some of the areas are dated. It's an old building though so I guess to be expected.
Location is excellent. Buildings and grounds are beautiful.
Not able to get a drink at the bar at 20.30 as all the staff had finished.
Excellent, look forward to staying there again.
A nice quality beer. Maybe have a word with the member's CAMRA club.
Beautiful hotel, great location, helpful staff
Our 2-night stay at Phyllis Court Members Club was a genuinely first-class experience. The beautiful, riverside setting and the stylish public areas in the Main Clubhouse were matched by an extremely comfortable bedroom - and a fabulous, traditional English breakfast menu. Without exception, every member of staff smiled and was both polite and extremely helpful. The bonus was a back gate that offers a much sorter route into the centre of Henley.
We were there to attend a wedding 15 minutes away - and only wish that we could have stayed longer, to explore everything else that the Club has to offer.
Food and room were excellent. Staff were very helpfull
Beautiful setting
Food poor in restaurant in evening
Excellent location and very very clean
loved facilities and location
room was tiny and way over priced
The proximity to Henley, the ambiance throughout, the food and especially the staff. The reception ladies (especially Rebecca) managed to move room for us, as the room we were given (no. 16) had a vent behind it which was a bit noisy as the weather was super hot. We were given a balcony room which overlooked the garden and river, it was wonderful. All the staff seemed to have the time to help all of the guests.
Nothing
Very central
Breakfast was lovely, but service a bit slow. Forgot to bring toast with my breakfast and by the time i got it, I had finished eating
Extra hot weather for the 4 nights. AC is an important need for these frequent extemes. Ceiling fans may also be appreciated in dining and outdoor areas.
Location superb, food was great breakfast was exceptional and staff very friendly and polite and attentive. Loved the pool great facilities very clean room was comfortable and very clean.
nothing it was all great
Staff . Food . Location . Rooms
This is a members club.and that's the feeling we got . Nothing is signposted. Even the toilet. Couldn't tell you where the pool and gym was . There was another building in the overflow carpark. Snooker Croquet Members only . I would have enjoyed a supervised hour to learn the game . Reception said we could apply to the club in an email . Bit that would take a few days . Nothing to do . As I say staff were excellent. No Airton. But fan provided . And we are going through unprecedented temperatures.
Everything, service was first class, location amazing. Room was perfect and food really good
Nothing
the food was excellent. The area to the centre was very good. The location ,next to the river was beautiful
the bar and restaurant were closed Saturday, due to setting up for the regatta, which was inconvenient for us and other older guests. Our room needed some renovation. There was a large damp patch on the ceiling. There was no air conditioning and the weather was 36 degrees?
Location, atmosphere
Hesitate to state anything negative, maybe the service at dinner was a bit lengthy - 2 hours
Location was excellent.
The temperature in our room , with two fans on continuously, was 35C. When we opened the windows, we were plagued with hundreds of tiny flies hopping all over the bed and room. The service in the dining room for the evening meal was very slow -an hour for the first course. Not asked if we wanted drinks.
Exceeded my expectations and very impressed with the staff. Food was great and the shower was the best shower I’ve ever had.
Le cadre, le personnel très sympathique, le confort, l’emplacement, le petit déjeuner.
Rien.
Location, facilities, all just beautiful. Situated by the river.
Room was lovely but very small so beware if you have a lot of luggage.
Lovely location
We asked for a ‘quiet’ room but were put above the bar! However it hasn’t put us off staying again
11/10 place. Lovely staff, super clean and very ordered which we love. Evening meals were tradition English to a very good standard and very reasonably priced for the location. Short walk to Henley.
Nothing - place is perfect.
Great location for Henley Royal Regatta
No air conditioning & just a small fan in a small room was pretty unbearable to sleep in, hence needing to stay out later & up earlier to get out, than we wanted. Wouldn’t stay again for this reason!
Beautiful property with good facilities but we weren't able to use the pool beyond 10am and there weren't any dining service in the evenings
Good position and gardens
Location. The staff. The atmosphere.
Nothing
The hotel was immaculate room bathroom was Good.
The mattress was like hard board we had a sleepless night which wasn’t great. Also when we went down to be served breakfast we was left last, Other guests came sat down and they was attentive to. Me & my partner was just left sitting there. After going to speak with them twice over we managed to get our breakfast. Al round not a great place to stay.
Great location, great staff and a lovely hotel.
No aircon in the room and 2 fans from the stone age didn’t help. The bedroom was like a kiln.
Nothing
Because half the hotel was shut off due to ongoing building works we chose to cancel. Can’t believe they still try to continue to be open under the circumstances as it was dangerous
Phyllis Court has a fantastic setting by the Thames, friendly staff and great food and drink
All good
location
Room , no air con , felt like the guests were a nusisanxe as the hotel was focussing on the Regatta, 7 am lawn mowing . No simple cocktails offered in the bar when we went ( again as focussing on the Regatta )
Beautiful location, eating on the terraces
No safe in a premium room It was very hot, one fan per room not enough
Great location on the breakfast was fantastic
It was all very good
Location, staff and breakfast
No air c9n and restaurant was closed
Excellent location, very good service, comfortable surroundings.
Beautiful location on River Thames. Very quiet & peaceful.
It was VERY hot while we stayed there and the small fan wasn’t quite enough to keep us cool.
They did not provide a room to us.It was very stressful for us.
They did not provide a room to us.It was very stressful for us.
One of the best places we have ever stayed in. Excellent breakfast The terrace is a beautiful place to enjoy lunch or a drink. It’s a while since we last stayed and had forgotten what an elegant classy place it is , will not leave it so long to return It
Room very hot but that couldn’t be helped in the exceptional weather conditions, fan was much appreciated
Location staff service
Nothing
Great service. Nice variety of food . We had different meals and all were excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly
We had dinner at the orangery the second night it took 45 minutes for our order to be taken. The next night service was very good. Both nights the food was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. No air conditioning anywhere. It is a must. Safe in the room would be nice for international travellers.
Everything is great from location to the quality and cleanliness throughout
Nothing not to like
Location
Breakfast was an absolute disgrace, Bank Holiday Monday on a lovely day, should have been a pleasure for your hotel guests and regular members. But it was a disaster. Horrible experience. Arrived before 9am, noone to welcome you, eventually someone came over, a sullen young girl who is not fit for this type of work. She was unpleasant, unhelpful and sweating profusely. Not organised, not communicative, simply a joke. The tall lad was pleasant and helpful but only so much he could do. They only had 20 covers maximum but somehow couldn't or wouldn't clear tables or reset cutlery or make the customers welcome. It turned out that breakfast orders were 45 minutes behind, something wrong int the kitchen apparently. SO BE TRANSPARENT COME AND TELL THE CUSTOMERS WHERE ON EARTH WERE LEADERSHIP!? Noone was managing the young workers, they couldn't cope and had no skills or experience. I did report all this to reception to pass on and get help with the guidance that there needed to be an intervention. There was none. Some bodies were thrown at the problem from the bar to help out, they were ok but by then everyone was upset and felt completely let down across the board. This and the dirty building site environment. Disgraceful.
It was gorgeous. Very British. Attention to detail second to none. Loved it.
Location was unbeatable and the breakfast was of the high quality we expected.
No air conditioning in the bedroom but we were able to open the door into to the terrace (which I did during the night to allow in a cooling breeze).
High standard of service and very friendly and helpful staff. The location and interior is beautiful especially since it has been recently refurbished. The restaurant, bar lounge and outside terrace provides a very ambient atmosphere during the day and evening and the menu offers a good selection of very good quality dishes.
Room was very warm due to high temps but a fan was provided. Could possibly benefit from air conditioning during the summer months. Bathroom was beautiful and very clean.
The location is incredibly special right on the edge of the river. Great fitness centre and pool too. Lovely friendly staff.
Nothing
The staff and facilities at Phyllis Court are superb, dinner and breakfast very enjoyable, and the location ideal for a visit to Henley.
Location - fantastic view of river, lovely grounds and near the centre
Room was smaller than I realised
Breakfast was beautiful, stunning location and we had a balcony on our room overlooking the River.
Nothing
Lovely site on the Thames
Uncertainty about facilities availability and dress codes
Everything
Excellent location in beautiful grounds and we had a room with a view over the Thames…Wonderful. The waitress served breakfast and the evening meal in the restaurant were first class, as was the service. Friendly staff. Was able to walk into Henley and look round the lovely town
All good
Wonderful location in Henley exceptional grounds spacious suite and fine food
The burgundy wallpaper in our room
Everything and everyone perfect.
Nothing
The staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful
Great location, comfortable room and fabulous garden and views. Restaurant staff service was exceptional.
Undergoing renovations when we visited so the reception area was a bit messy.
The location and facilities available
When we arrived to book in to the Hotel we were not told the pool closes on Sunday at 4pm, we went out and came back later as we were too early checking in and the pool was closed. We paid the extra to use the 🏊♂️
Excellent
Amazing setting and so secure. Perfect for the town centre. Great pool and facilities. The Stafff were tremendous, nothing was too much trouble. Members were very welcoming too.
Little things: Only enough shower gel for one person. Nowhere to eat if you had room service except the bed. No charging points for usb’s. At this price point one might have expected robes and slippers perhaps.
Location right on the Thames walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants. Food very good
Service was a bit slow. Rooms a bit dated but doing renovations at present
Beautiful Location. 10/10 breakfast. Clean and spacious room.
When we have been there it was under construction.
The location, our room overlooking the river, 5 minute walk into Henley. The place, just wonderful. The staff friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Parking was great, all very secure. Pool and sauna exceptional. Breakfast room was just perfect. A great coffee and food. Bed really comfortable and the room immaculate. A really, really special place to stay.
Nothing ! All perfect.
The luxury, the Room, the Balcony, the Location, the staff quality, the Orangry, the River side, friendly staff, the Views, the Sports, the Town Centre,
We love this property having stayed 3 times before.
I think we should have been told about the refurbishment going on. This spoilt our stay as building work was not expected.
The breakfast was excellent. We got everyting that I asked for. Not rushed and service very good.
There was nothing that we didnt like
Location is great just a 5 minute walk to town Beautiful gardens and surroundings with a view of the river. Even though the room was very small it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Powerful shower.
The gates to the hotel are locked for security reasons - fine in the day when there is a member of staff to let you in and out, not so much at 9pm when they’ve all gone home. We couldn’t get in, had to google the hotel phone number and call reception to get walk down and unlock the gate. Room and en-suite were compact. Building work going on so it was a bit of task finding our way into the hotel as the main door was blocked, and then navigating around builders to find reception was interesting.
Breakfast and evening meals were excellent Fantastic location would stay again
No safe in the room No electric shaver point in bathroom
Location and overall standard of hotel
Lovely brekkie (bit slow). Lush grounds & amazing to be by the river. Friendly staff- just need hooks on back of bathroom doors! Good value bar prices.
The breakfast was amazing, staff very friendly, just a little more information at check in, ie breakfast time etc....
The weeds on the balcony need a little attention, room could do with a bit of paint!
A lovely clubby atmosphere with great staff and astonishing good value.
View from our bedroom over the The Orangery, although to be fair, we were warned as all the balcony suites had booked.
Perfect breakfast wonderful location and service , All staff very helpful any problems delt with quickly . Service in lounge superb .
I could not get a booking in the evening , I was alone and elderly so did not want to go out I would have booked ahead if I had known. Also my bedroom at the back had blanked out windows which was quite depressing .
Everything was walking distance, and the grounds were wonderful for a morning stroll. I was disappointed we could not get a dinner reservation, so do book in advance. As a couple eating early, we have never had this at a hotel before. And we were not advised upon booking to make the dinner reservation. The breakfast was outstanding! And our room was spotless! Toiletries and tea/coffee in the room were minimal, so you may want to bring your own. I would highly recommend a stay at this beautiful hotel 🌟
Above
We have stayed many times and always enjoy it. This time the period between Christmas and New Year was quiet but staff were attentive and we were very well looked after. Breakfast was very good.
The welcome, the room, the WiFi and breakfast, all superb
Small niggle was the water temp. It was only just warm, and not hot for a bath, which was disappointing. Would not stop us staying again though.
Great location, lovely Christmas decorations, attentive staff and good food
Nothing
Great location
Quiet location Excellent restaurant Great service
Relaxed atmosphere Good parking Close to town centre
Great location. Very relaxing and beautifully dressed for Christmas.
Very good
Service
Location is amazing
Staff at the bar can be a bit to chatty with each other and not overly attentive
Fabulous location on the river in Henley and five minute walk into the town centre
Staff at the bar could have been abit more attentive to the guests, liked chatting amongst themselves and ignoring the customers I had to do a it of chasing around to order a drink!
