Very very disappointed with the room considering the price we paid. We didnt go for the cheapest option because we wanted something special but it was very budget and cheap.

Terribly badly insulated there were footsteps walking above and could clearly hear the people talking, unfortunately they kept going until 3 in the morning. They didnt remove their shoes until then either.

Nothing it is over hyped for no reason except the views and since it is on an island the views were good

Loved the facilities and the water taxis and shuttles. The lady bartender in the fine dining was great!

Bad service from the front desk and housekeeping. Had to ask three times for a luggage rack! Housekeeping was very loud cleaning the rooms next to us and we had to call down to get service the first day. They didn’t replenish our shower soap and when we checked out we were charged $70 for self parking instead of $35. For such a beautiful resort not impressive.

Long weird walk to end of hall to the only elevator that services those room. It was quiet tho so that was nice. Wedding taking place at hotel made check in chaotic. Not the best trained staff for check in 1000/nt rooms - I’d expect better. They need to hire more housekeeping so they can get people Checked in on a busy weekend. Did not have the room we reserved four months ago (2 queens) for us. Tried to give us king with pull out sofa, which wouldn’t work so they did end up accommodating by giving us two kings instead, but it’s not rocket science. It worked out but was annoying and I convenient. Lastly, loud DJ playing VERY LOUD techno dance music on Sunday at noon by the pool made eating casual lunch outside nearby on the deck at the outdoor restaurant awful. We had to eat fast to leave - the noise was unbearable. Gave us all a major headache.

Check-In Process war sehr schlecht. Zuerst mussten wir 4 Stunden auf eines der beiden Zimmer warten und danach haben sie uns eines gegeben, welches schon belegt war. Generell war das Personal an Reception eher unfähig.

The property was great!!

Wish the pool closed later, one of the queen beds in our room was dirty, no communication to reach the front desk didnt work.

Front of House and Bar staff were very welcoming and did what they could to make our stay a good one. The bar games were great including darts and pool. Views from the rooms over the water were excellent.

Indoor pool a little limited and dark but those with young children seemed to enjoy it. A bit frustrating that the free shuttle left 10 minutes early to take a party who couldn’t fit on the earlier bus (good in a way) but it meant that when it returned for us (10 minutes late) we were late for our dinner reservation

Location is good, hotel facilities are not bad.

The hotel seemed old and less comfortable than our last stay two years ago. And it’s extremely pricey/ expensive. The pet fee was $ 150 / night, crazy! And it charged very high amenities fee and sales tax.

The hotel was perfect for our baby moon! The hotel staff was super friendly the minute we got there, the rooms were very clean and spacious, the restaurant on site was delicious and the pool was perfect! The location of the hotel is also perfect, right on the water and within a 10 minute walk to the downtown area.

Had to hunt down housekeeping to clean room. Waited a whole day. GeForce they refreshed. There are too many weddings and events going on, so they prioritise cleaning wedding guests rooms in order to get the next round of wedding guests room ready. A constant cycle.

Starting with Brian, the parking manager, the staff was friendly, personable and efficient. Check in was easy and again staff were friendly and helpful. Lunch was great with Del, who remembered a guests dietary needs from a lunch at least two weeks previously. Pool attendants again were helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable on a very busy day. The Handicap Accessible room was spacious and had good grab bars in the bathroom.The family enjoyed using the complimentary shuttle van and the water taxi. The outdoor pool was perfect especially for a last swim on the day we left when the clouds had rolled in and I had the pool all to myself. Brian saw us off with the same pleasant friendly contact and as always name recognition. Impressive.

The handicap accessible room had a tub rather than a roll in shower. Please think about changing this next time you remodel. Tubs and wheelchairs don’t mix!

The place is sprawling almost too disjointed. Reception staff was incompetent - placed our family in several different areas.

Room was comfortable. Cleaning staff were good. Food in restaurants was very good.

Extremely expensive with no amenities. No concierge. Everything had an additional cost added to exorbitant room rate. Pool was so hot that you couldn’t cool off . Filled with young kids so an adult couldn’t even take a swim.

All Staff and food were great! Outdoor area at the bar on the deck and pool were incredible. The views were incredible.

The outside of the hotel is very dated. Could use a fresh coat of a different color paint or siding. The yellow looks terrible. It doesn't do the inside, which is beautiful, any justice. Pineapple bar area is run down and could be updated. We stayed away from there. The cushions on the chairs on the deck near the upper outdoor restaurant/bar area need to be replaced. Many rips, seagull stains and fading. We had a captains room and all of the cushions on our deck were stained and faded. For the price I paid, there should be updated cushions or at least make an effort to have them cleaned. There was also no large mirror in the upstairs suite for the bathroom. Had to go up and down stairs to get ready.

The king room was much smaller than expected, and the bed wasn't actually king-sized. It was also missing some of the listed amenities, such as slippers, and felt very cramped. Our air conditioning didn't work when we arrived. We reported it to reception, and someone came to fix it, but it stopped working again shortly afterward. Even when it did work, the AC unit was extremely large and very noisy, making it difficult to sleep.

The swimming pool is very small and always overcrowded with kids, making it almost impossible to swim. The staff is friendly but unprofessional and understaffed for a hotel of this size. As a result, the common areas aren't kept clean, and the restaurant tables are often dirty.

Property is pretty and quiet

We were given a moldy, recently flooded room with a bad smell in the bathroom. I had to complain to be moved. The management had some clothing I left behind I the move and it took over 2 hours to track it down. All I got was a sorry. I expected more from a resort. Staff are nice but management is lacking

Location and general set up of the property is nice. A few team members truly stood out: Allison in the restaurant, who provided exceptional service, and the friendly, customer-focused valet staff.

The resort felt significantly overpriced, especially considering its size, amenities, and overall experience. During our stay, the pool area was dominated by unsupervised children who were constantly jumping, splashing, and being very loud. Many parents did not seem to supervise their children, and there was no visible staff member or lifeguard present to help maintain a relaxing atmosphere. The lobby was also overcrowded due to multiple wedding events, and tables were often left uncleared after guests departed, giving the common areas an untidy appearance. Given the premium holiday weekend rates, I expected a much higher level of service. Unfortunately, the staff generally seemed disengaged. We were never approached to order drinks while relaxing by the pool or even while sitting at the bar, which was disappointing for a resort of this price point.

The room was spacious, with a very pleasant sitting area and large windows overlooking the water. The staff provided things not normally in rooms, such as a kettle. There is a drinking fountain to refill bottles in every room. There was a problem with our bathroom sink and it was sorted quickly and efficiently.

There is a charge of USD 35 per night for parking cars... for hotel guests, who are already paying around USD 400 per room, it seems an exaggeration. The bathrooms are very small, when the overall size of the room allowed for larger ones. There is very little space for hanging / storing clothes.

Each time you park the car or take it out, you have to pay 20-40$ depending on how long your parked the car. The hotel is on another island, goat island, it also provides shuttles but for people paying for the most expensive room, $250 in parking charges is ridiculous and would never stay here again,

The igloo experience was truly enjoyable! From the beautiful views of the harbor, to the warm & inviting atmosphere. The best part was our waiter, Pradeep! He was extremely friendly & attentive. Would love to come back for this.

Beautiful resort. Went in March so it was a little cold, but the grounds are still beautiful and resort was not overpacked giving it a very quiet laid back feel. Booked through my Capital One card and received a $50 experience credit and a complementary bottle of wine. Had breakfast at the hotels restaurant on my last day which was delicious. Enjoyed the views of beautiful sunsets from the deck. They also upgraded my room to a balcony which was much appreciated and provided us alate checkout. The shuttle into town was extremely convenient and an added plus. Overall, a positive experience. Would like to come back in a warmer month and experience, the pineapple club and pool!

Everyone was very welcoming, beautiful views throughout the property, rooms were spacious and very clean. Even though it was cold outside it was great to have a bar with activities.

We had a ladies lunch in the igloo on a Sunday in March. It’s was a sparkling day with the water as the backdrop. Our server Pradeep was awesome. He kept a steady flow of cocktails and snacks coming. The igloos are both unique in decor with heat and blankets although we didn’t need them.

My husband and I recently stayed over night…. We had a great time! The room, the view, the service and entire staff were fabulous! Shout out to Natasha in the Torpedo Bar!

Had such a great experience at Restaurant 1639! This was our first time in Newport, and they really set the bar high. Natasha was our server and she was absolutely amazing—super friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful with recommendations. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure you have a great experience. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was spot on, and it made our first visit here feel really special. We’re already looking forward to coming back next time we’re in town!

Natasha was a wonderful server. My girlfriend and I had a lovely dinner at the 1639 Restaurant and she waited our table. Can’t say enough nice things about her. She was personable, knowledgeable, and kind. Her meal recommendations were a hit. We’ll be back for the food and request to have her serve us again. Thank you, Natasha.

Has everything you need to enjoy your vacation. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t an indoor hot tub. I wanted to relax my back with jets. The food was very good and hotel was clean.

The Newport Harbor Island resort is a lovely place to get away. The rooms are comfortable & have a beautiful view. The property is well maintained. You can’t beat the location. My husband and I enjoyed the walk over the small bridge to downtown Newport. Downtown has a plentiful supple of restaurants of varying ethnic cuisine and price points. We enjoyed the Family Life conference in the spacious room which was well equipped for our needs. The resort staff was courteous and efficient. We will gladly book again.

This place was absolutely amazing. Hector was great. Allison in the restaurant was amazing. I really had such a great experience that I’m gonna actually come back tomorrow with my husband and family. Definitely a must stay. Cheers to the staff.

We had two rooms for a family of six. The location was beautiful. The facility was clean and family friendly. The staff at front desk were accommodating. The food at the restaurant was great. We would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Our room was spacious and well appointed. I was disappointed with the food however, and while it was an exceptionally busy weekend, there were very few staff working. The food was subpar for the price.

We love Newport Harbor Island Resort! The entire property is beautiful, even in February! Hector at the front desk was amazing and helpful along with Dave with Bell Services. We stay annually for a Irish Step competition and it is our favorite stop of the year! Thank you!

Beautiful, clean and wonderful hotel. We had a great time and we will be back. Chris M, the bartender, was very helpful in one evening to help figure out reservations with the wait staff. Additionally, Hector at the front desk was warm and welcoming. He was willing to help to any point and was a great person to meet.

My husband and I visited during Valentine's Day. It was a very rare getaway without our children. We spent well over $3000 on food, beverages and the hotel itself. We experienced multiple issues while there. I believe that this was a result of severe understaffing during Winterfest. I have been at the hotel on my own in the past and it was excellent. So excellent that when my husband suggested a getaway, I immediately thought of this hotel. I wanted to share the magic with him. Well, this trip was not magical. There were too many housekeeping issues to list, including waiting for body wash for over 4 hours and missing half of our day sitting in the room. We literally asked 5 times before finally being brought the body wash. We also had stained linen and restaurant wait times (with reservations) that simply did not make sense. We left the restaurant one evening, hoping for better service in the lounge and literally witnessed the waitress running around the room trying to serve everyone. She seemed to be working alone. It took us two hours or so to actually order and get our meals. Breakfast was equally as challenging with the waiter dropping items as he struggled to meet the needs of all of the diners and a host with zero smiles on his face and a firm "go elsewhere attitude" to customers who complained or asked how long with respect to the wait. We left disappointed as this was our only opportunity for the year to be without our kids and we had to waste so much time due to the hotel being very short staffed. A waste of our hard earned 3 grand.

Wow - what a makeover! First time back since it was Gurneys and I have to say I am impressed. The decor was updated, the ambiance was a vibe and the staff was knowledgeable and could tell they were trained to get things right. The bartender at “Torpedo” (their cocktail bar), Chris made some great drinks and even better conversation. My wife ordered a “lavender lemon drop” but they were out of lavender.. with it being newports off season - totally get it. Chris stepped in and made some suggestions for an augmented lemon drop - which she absolutely LOVED! For a hotel bar where most people our tourists - this guy made us laugh our asses off and feel like true Newport locals. Will be back 100%

The hotel is nice and inviting, the staff for the most part was very nice. I was not too crazy about my room If felt cramped I asked for an upgrade but they couldn’t accommodate till the 3rd night When I got to the updated room, it was very nice however there were rose petals under my bed. Which tells me that the cleaning crew were not too thorough. I told the front desk and they were very accommodating. Something else that buggged me in the other room was that once the room shuts down the AC kicks in which was majorly annoying because I would wake up freezing. The opposite in the new room, upstairs was 85 degrees no matter what we did and we couldn’t even crack a window. They have nice restaurants but they didn’t have enough staff on hand for the amount of patrons they had for the weekend. Some of the staff were overwhelmed. Twice we had to clear our own table to have lunch and the poor bartender had to come assist us. He was very nice about it though. Overall I really enjoyed my stay and would love to come back but the staffing needs to be better Dishonorable mention was the spa, my cousin and I went to inquire about service. They were completely booked which I fully understand since it was Valentine’s Day weekend but the tone and affect of the spa front desk attendant was very off putting and condescending. If I were to go back I would not spend my hard earned dollars there.

I was there with a group and everything was wonderful except for the food. There were only 35 -40 of us and we were provided four meals. I would be hesitant to return if this is the caliber of food in the restuarant. Food that should be hot, was not. One meal chicken was the main dish---dry, dry, dry. That meal there was no salt or pepper anywhere in the room until we asked. There were two salads served to us--both times my salads were gritty and did not have any kind of dressing on them. The potato stick thing was awful. I was excited when I saw the Valentine's dessert, thinking cheesecake--no--white chocolate-no almost the same terrible thing we had at lunch panna cota---terrible. I learned from lunch not to eat the cake part or the gelatin. It was just gross. I had my had on my water glass and a waitress tried to clear it off the table---I had had to go to the bar to get more water. Really need to improve the food

The hotel seemed nice enough but the heating system in our room made a horrendous buzzing noise every time it turned on, waking up me and my family in the middle of the night. I took video of it and reported it the next morning. The lady at the front desk apologized and said she would get maintenance on it. But the racket continued on the second night. The noise was so bad that we decided to turn off the heater and would rather just suffer through the cold. It was pretty awful. The next morning, I asked the same front-desk lady if the maintenance crew had taken a look at the heater. The same lady said maintenance had told her the noise was normal, which is ludicrous. How is one supposed to sleep with such awful noise? If you want to get a good night sleep, don’t stay here.

Nice and friendly staff but the experience was missing details in several areas of service and cleanliness for a resort especially. I had four salads during my stay and all were gritty with soil bite after bite, I waited quite a while for help in the bakery with no one around just a back in a few minutes sign, the touted 30 minute shuttle times and availability were not as promised and vague about when they were going to start so I eventually just left on foot once and then later called an Uber. The room was nice but it was obvious it had not been used or perhaps cleaned fully in a while with dust on many surfaces, two large full handprints and smudges on the waterview window, dusty glasses on day 1, hardened sugar packets, and water stained coasters, and a mattress that is starting to feel worn and sinking. The sweet staff are the only reason I didn't rate it much lower, but my stay did not make me feel like returning in the future.

The room was nice; the spa was great. The staff overall show signs of stress and overwhelmed and it is valentines day weekend and alot of activities but not enough staff. The Topedo was packed and people were cleaning their own tables. 1639 was great for breakfast on sunday and Hyechong was friendly and kind, as there were 8 of us!

For the price, I thought the rooms would have been nicer. Wood work was beat up, staining from water intrusion on ceilings in lighthouse tower hallways, no locks on exterior doors from outside, so anyone can come and go on property without keys to rooms. Front desk staff not overly helpful or friendly, when asked about getting clean coffee cups for our room, she said I needed to wait an hour or so for housekeeping to get me cups, even after I said they didn’t show up the day before, that’s why we didn’t have any. White scum/debri in pool everyday, no one seemed to know what it was.

We had a wonderful time at the Newport Harbor Island resort! Even though we only came for drinks at the torpedo bar, it was excellent. They have a wide selection of handcrafted cocktails, and the expert bartenders will make you whatever you’d like. Extra shout out to Timothy as he is very knowledgeable and kind and super fast with making drinks! I was very impressed with his speed and accuracy. If you can brave the Causeway, Newport Harbor Island is definitely worth visiting.

Juielle was fantastic. We loved our stay and the hospitality down at the Torpedo lounge! We will definitely be back for future family gatherings.
