Bellissime camere con arredamento di design. Bagno spazioso. Un po’ fuori ma servizio navetta molto utile
Colazione alla carta pagamento, un po’ cara. Pulizia del bagno non impeccabile
I liked the hotel and transportation into the main beach and shopping areas. I didn't like the pool closing early on our last night as I thought I'd enjoy it and they closed at 8 pm which was earlier than other nights of our stay. We thought we could go swim on our last night but they were closed. Communication when you check in on pool hours for different nights of the stay would have been welcome.
Restaurant was pricey for bringing a family to eat. We had to find other places after the bill for the breakfast was so high.
the restaurant
room was difficult to access with luggage
Provided a shuttle to and from town, which was very useful.
Wonderful staff, great rooms and loved the shuttle.

I love that there’s an outdoor pool with great food , staff is friendly, cool vibe, love that they have bikes to borrow
The rooms were a bit stuffy, I did not like that I could not adjust the AC to my liking
Precio alto.
Gode faciliteter, meget venligt og hjælpsomt personale, rolig stemning overordnet!
The hotel and restaurant staff were all very friendly and did a great job. The restaurant and coffee bar were very convenient and had solid menu options.
The cleanliness wasn't to standard. The wifi was unreliable during work calls, when it was connected it worked well but there were several instances when the signal dropped.
The location of Wayfinder was convenient for us, we had a family member graduating from the Officer Development School on the Navy Base and it was very close by which is one of the main reasons we chose this location. It was also a very convenient location being close to Downtown Newport and the Shuttle was a very nice feature we really liked about the place. Chucky was THE BEST shuttle driver. He was the best staff member we came across during our stay. We really felt welcomed by him, he was very personable and offered us bottled water, snacks and even waited for other passengers who were not yet at the pick up location. Chucky went above and beyond for the passengers and was the most friendly staff member at Wayfinder.
We did not like how loud the doors were constantly opening and closing at the end of the hallway right in front our room. The sound of the AC unit, the doors constantly slamming, and the sound of people made it very hard for us to sleep during our stay. The noise from the pool coming straight through our window at 8 am was also something we did not like. I think it would be a lot better with quieter doors at the end of the hallway or no doors at all. We also did not like how long it took for housekeeping to finally clean our rooms. We were there for a week and did not get clean towels until we had called the front desk multiple times and that was multiple days into our trip. When we finally got the towels, they did not clean the room but just gave the towels. The room was not cleaned until the following day and the dirty towels or trash was not taken either. We also had trouble getting responses from staff when we requested or needed something.
Staff was very friendly! I really enjoyed the shuttle into town every 30 minutes so I didn’t have to pay for parking. The room was very clean and I loved the fact they use local shampoo and conditioner.
Our room was towards the back of the hotel and there was no elevator access so we had to carry our bags up and down stairs.
Friendly staff, thoughtful room amenities
Cleanliness was just okay (stains in carpet) and no shelf or place to put anything in the shower
Big rooms, and very pleasant with a little kitchenette and seating area. Lovely friendly staff in reception and the restaurant attached had fantastic food. Easy parking and little good gym.
Location was ok, needed to drive or get the shuttle into the town.
Pillows and bedding smell like fried food. Didn’t get adequate towels one day. Beds were uncomfortable. Gave canned water second to last day made me wonder about the other days. Drain was not working in the bathtub so I couldn’t take a bath. Last year tipped on line. This year unavailable. Very confusing. Pool size inadequate for size of business.
Staff, Shuttle to town, breakfast
Rooms. very musty, pillows and smell
Clean, cute, nicely decorated, nice lobby, nice bonuses like use of bikes, free candy machines, complimentary drinks at happy hour. Food at restaurant was really good
The Little Clam Restaurant is very good for breakfast and dinner both. The Cafe has very good coffee at reasonable prices. The hotel is very clean with a mid-century modern vibe throughout. The pool area looked nice, though we did not partake. The location is not special, but it is quiet. There is a park with some nice paths across the street. The Otel offers bikes to guests, first come first served. Good quality city bikes in good condition, and there are bike lanes at the hotel entrance that will get you downtown with a 5 minute ride.
they charged a an extra fee for the pool and the bus service to the jazz fest. The pool and gym should be included. Furthermore I did not use the pool or gym or shuttle service
The property provided easy parking access.
Not all floors are elevator accessible, carrying baggage in and out was not so easy.
Disappointed with breakfast. It took more than one hour before it was served.
Room was clean
Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Convenient location and shuttle service.
Amenities listed online included a refrigerator. That is false information, as the rooms only have small coolers in them. We had medication that needed refrigeration unfortunately. Toilet kept running and running. We were never given enough washcloths. The carpet was stained in a few places. AC did not run cool enough and thermostat kept changing what we set it to.
The ladies at the front desk were extremely rude and unclear when giving instructions and at checkout felt like I was being a burden to them. The guy at night was absolutely amazing! He was friendly and went above and beyond when simply asking for extra toilet paper
Loved the decor and general feel
Too far from town center, no shops within walking distance
No closets just hanger on pipes for a few jackets and pants. No drawers at all for shirts or underwear - had to live out of suitcase. Poor a/c
Nothing
Nothing elevator and my room was on the third floor, the pool was filthy, no room service and the picture that is advertised of the hotel isn’t the hotel.
What a total rip off. This was just rebuilt after a fire but the place is basically the same as a motel 6 - just 5-10x the price. I love Newport but I’ll never make this mistake again.
The WAY FINDER is a great option for visiting Newport Rhode Island. Although the property is NOT located in the historic district, it is close enough for access to all the events of Newport. The property provides a shuttle service and bicycles to guests for use during their stay!

The retro feel was so great. Loved the whole esthetic! The staff were so accommodating and friendly! It feels like we left old friends behind.
We had our do no disturb sign on the door handle and when we left our room around 11 removed it. When we came back at 3, our room had not been cleaned. We requested to have it cleaned and were told it might be able to be done. Even though the lady was only 2 rooms past ours, it never was. No big deal because we just requested clean towels and coffee.
The building is shaped in an odd way, I got lost every time I left the room.. whether I went to the pool or the lobby .. the building has a weird layout with dark hallways. The pool was dirty .. had a lot of leaves and dead bugs floating in it.
I stayed at the Wayfinder with my son during FIFA World Cup 2026. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
cleanliness of the room and bathrooms. Comfortable bed.
My stay started with disappointment and only got worse from there. To be sure, though, this hotel is OK. It’s clean. The staff are wonderful. It is just fine when you’re a part of a large group for an event, but I’ll never stay there out of my own interest again. I want this to be a fair review, and I hope it is. Again, the hotel was “ok” but fell so far short of my expectations. It seems the staff try, and I truly felt bad for them. They just can’t get out in front of an awful building. The building is probably one that should have been completely torn down after the fire and rebuilt. The company spent a LOT of money redecorating what existed, but it’s 90% form and 10% function. Even the parking lot makes no sense. It’s not very obvious for the first timers arriving and pulling into the lot. And then you find that there are two “rows” of parking separated by a grassy median. But when you drive down one and can’t find a spot, you make a u turn to try the other row, and you quickly see you’re driving the wrong way. Both sides of the lot are one way, going THE SAME WAY. I’ve never seen anything like that before and I’d be surprised if I’m the only one to notice that. Next: on a Friday, you should wait until 5pm or later to check in. Trying to check in at 3:30 or 4pm, I waited in a line for 35 minutes (at one point the line wrapped around the painfully small lobby.). While a nice touch, a F&B manager had a table set up, giving out samples of food and beverage to market the restaurant. Well, that only further complicated the too-small a lobby and the wait for check in and made it very challenging to even walk through the lobby, let alone manage being in a line to check in with bags. People. Carts. Luggage. Dogs. Bags. Laundry bins all tripping over each other. Be extra careful if you are wearing flip flops as your toes are sure to get stepped on or rolled over. When I got to the desk, the nice lady did her best, and I knew she felt awful that my room just wasn’t ready yet. But it was a lot of unclear messages, trips to the back to the “manager” and saying she doesn’t know what was going on. After several minutes, I was asked to hang around the lobby while she waited to find out what was going on. So no details. Just “wait for more details.” So I took my bags and sat in the lobby. Looks nice, but so completely poorly designed for flow and a normal lobby, I just sat there to watch the cluster going on with maybe 12-15 people waiting in line, crowded lobby. With staff carts, guests, everyone trying to get through. The only word I could find to describe it was cluster. People trip over the ottomans and furniture items in the lobby even when it’s not crowded with people. After about 30 mins I approached again and the lady stumbled through trying to think of something to say to me. But she got me a different room. And she was very apologetic and gave me a $26 f&b coupon. We both knew it was not her fault and again I felt bad for her. I travel enough to know I’m no one special. I know things happen. I’m patient. But the whole experience of seeing staff try so hard and just being “cut off at the pass” by the logistics and design of the building. and unable to succeed was frustrating. I got to my room it. it looked nice. Newish. But just didn’t feel right. It looked like more time went into making it look good than functional. Awkward. One light near the bed was so far away you couldn’t turn the light on or off while in bed. The light switch at the door does nothing. The weird wall mounted metal sculpture that was supposed to be the closet looked flimsy and was weird to use. Very weird. And your clothes covered the thermostat for the HVAC. The hangars on that “closet” will surely scuff up the wall in no time if it doesn’t already. The rest of that wall was bare. The opposite wall had a comfortable looking chaise chair, but the opposite corner had a small table with one chair, cramped into the corner by the window and HVAC. One chair? The bathroom sink had no towel rack, so you could only leave your wet hand towel on the sink. The towel bar in the bathroom shower section was right over the toilet paper roll. Every lamp was a plug in cord that was too short for where they mounted the light. So the cord was taught and at a weird angle. The hallways are dank dark and dreary. And the rooms are so beyond loud that you can hear conversations from the hallway. From next door. Footsteps from above you. I do believe this hotel does have a lot of large groups and a lot of weddings, so be prepared for partygoers to wake you up at 12am and 1am and 2am. I left comments on an online form you’re presented with when you check in on the WiFi and have not heard any response yet. But given how busy they are, it might take a while. I can tell the hotel staff genuinely care and want to give the best possible experience to the guests. But they can only do so much. I was also disappointed by my check out experience. I was asked by the staff how was my stay. I replied, “ok.” She asked, “just ok?” And I said yes, just OK but no follow up questions for details. Just an awkward nod suggesting she wasn’t surprised and some reference to maybe my next stay would be better. Frankly, I was really ready to leave and get out of there. I don’t know when it was originally built, but it’s just wing after wing of rooms separated by closing double doors. I felt like I was walking the bowels of a submarine and passing through one door lock after another. To be clear, though, kudos to the staff. Nice. Friendly. Smiling. Polite. Professional. If only they had a better-organized and laid-out physical structure to work in. If you’re part of a group, you’ll be fine. But I’d never stay there and never pay the resort fee on a personal vacation. I hope that’s fair.
Great decor to the rooms with high quality products in the bathrooms. The free bike hire.
A bit far out of the main action of Newport
We liked the cleanliness, the coffee we could buy at the coffee stand every morning, the shuttle service from the hotel to the marina, the décor of the room and the lobby, and the pool. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel despite a few shortcomings. The staff was always friendly and helpful, assisting us with our room cleaning requests and helping us when the shuttle from the marina to the hotel failed to pick us up.
The rooms are not soundproof. Although we stayed on the top floor, which helped reduce the noise from inside; our window faced the road, so the sound of passing cars woke us up in the morning. The restaurant service was very slow, so we gave up and didn’t try eating there again.
The shuttle into town was so convenient!
Great location, shuttle to Bowens Wharf, loved the decor, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
This is nitpicky, but the coffee in the room was terrible. Other than that, nothing.
Beautiful clean line furniture and decor. Comfortable bed and room layout and friendly staff and great food.
Unfortunately the person working at the cafe wasn’t skilled to make good espresso drinks. As a coffee enthusiasts we were disappointed.
This hotel has recently been updated and the rooms are lovely. We didn’t use their shuttle into downtown Newport but instead drove our car in (and paid for parking). I’m sure that mid summer the shuttle would be a needed benefit. Very nice stay.
Older hotel with personality.
I stayed at this hotel for the second time. I love that hotel. The staff is very professional and helpful.
Location is perfect
Hot mess. Clearly they've invested in great marketing/photos/sales and not in the actual in-person service experience. So disappointing. Hotel was mostly empty, yet our room was super far from the lobby, down a dark cold hallway, adjacent to the maintenance team door that slammed endlessly, with the pool filter system directly outside our window kicking on at 5 AM. The website has a "Happenings" calendar which is complete BS. The calendar lists daily "wine tours" and when I asked to book one at the front desk, they had no idea what I was talking about (FYI they do NOT do wine tours despite the website literally listing that they do). There is a shuttle to the main warf area that we were told leaves the hotel on the hour and picks people up downtown on the 30 min... spoiler alert, it doesn't follow a schedule at all and we were late for our dinner reservation both nights and then couldn't get in touch with them for a ride back.... leaving us stranded until we called an uber. Finally, there is a "pool shack" that offers food and drink by the pool. You order via QR code on your pool lounger. We sat by the pool, placed an order, and after waiting almost an hour I went to the front desk where they told me the pool shack was closed (ahem, turn off your online order system then, which auto charges the bill + tip) -- the front desk told me they'd refund my order. It's been 10 days, and still no refund in sight. The have been so difficult about it that I've resorted to having my bank dispute the charge. Normally I wouldn't sweat over a small charge, but I was so disappointed in this stay I refuse to give them more money for food/drink/tip that never happened! Save yourself and stay elsewhere. Newport is amazing! Wayfinder is not.
Had a great experience. Appreciated the van taking hotel guests to town and picking us up. Very good people. Highly recommended
The location is good and they have a shuttle to the wharf.
We stayed in a queen suite, 2 queen beds and a couch that turns into a bed, no where to put your suit cases, one tiny closet no racks or dresser. Coffee maker didn’t work, there was no microwave in room, one chair at the eating table.
Room and amenities were great. The Little Clam was awesome.
Hooks on the bathroom door were improperly installed causing them to fall off. For the size of the bathroom (huge) they could have made the shower much larger. Facing the shower head I couldn't extend my elbows out without hitting the wall and door. Water pressure in the shower was very poor.
The rooms were clean and updated.
It was in a trashy area and it was ridiculously overpriced. Absolutely not worth $400 a night.
Staff was great!! Nice rooms
Lovely property and staff. Good value
All was good
Great room, staff and chef
Room was cute, clean and liked the balcony.
The outlets on the bed side of the room did not work. The pillows were flat.
The individual staff members I interacted with were very nice and helpful, but the property itself is poorly managed and suffers from a non-stop laundry list of administrative and technical problems. This is absolutely not how you welcome a guest paying $325 a night. The Arrival Disaster: After a grueling 16-hour door-to-door journey on zero sleep, the front desk agent kindly offered an early 9:00 AM check-in, but then walked me across the property and dumped me in the wrong building entirely. After searching down a hallway for a room number that did not exist, the exit door locked behind me, forcing me to hike through the exterior parking lot back to the lobby. It turned out my actual room was just 10 feet from the reception desk the whole time. To top it off, the room was missing a basic "Do Not Disturb" sign, meaning I had to hunt down housekeeping the next morning just to get some uninterrupted rest. (Though the housekeeping staff themselves deserve an 8/10 for cleanliness, as the actual cleaning job was good). Dead Technology: The technology setup in the room was incredibly frustrating. The room phone was completely dead because it wasn't even plugged into the wall. Even after plugging it in, it still did not work and required a tech guy to come down and fix it. Because the phone was dead and the Wi-Fi wouldn't connect on its own, I had to physically walk back to the front desk just to get help. The tech guy ultimately had to manually configure the TV to get the guest Wi-Fi working. While I eventually got my own phone connected using their password and router info, a guest shouldn't have to deal with unplugged equipment and technical support just to get basic internet. Dining & Billing Headaches: We were here for a wedding block arranged by my sister. The breakfast food at Little Clam was good, and the pricing was exactly what you would expect at a hotel restaurant. However, the front desk initially refused to honor the $15-a-day food credit that was explicitly part of our wedding block, insisting their records didn't show it. We had to get the wedding organizer involved to fix it. The Checkout Bait-and-Switch: Departure completely ruined any remaining goodwill. My 2-night reservation was explicitly quoted at $586.08 including taxes and fees. At checkout, I was blindsided by a total charge of $648.24 due to a hidden "urban destination fee" tacked on by the hotel. Sneaking in an extra $62 after booking feels completely deceptive. The people working here are pleasant, but management needs to get their act together. Between the hidden fees and the broken room amenities, the value just isn't there.
Very welcoming and helpful staff.
It was great.
Having to walk up to the 4th floor when the elevator didn’t work.
Fantastic check in and welcome. Room large and comfortable. Free car park which is fab in Newport!!
Bit out of town so you will need an uber to get to main area.
Super clean and cozy! Friendly amazing staff. Shoutout to Shelly for being so accommodating and insightful and knowledgeable about the area and providing recommendations. Super close to everything!
N/A It was perfect.
Great staff
Paper thin walls
Remarkably clean and pleasant.
Wish they weren’t cutting the lawn on a Saturday morning.
Amazing staff willing to help you get the right room for your needs
Bed was firmer than I cared for
Wonderful location for our work conference! The staff were attentive, the rooms were spotless and large, the food was great and everything went smoothly.
Loved my stay at The Wayfinder! I really appreciate the hotel's efforts towards sustainability and to avoid single-use plastic. I loved seeing the water refill stations, the Open Water cans, and the provided soap from a local Newport company. The shuttle was also a convenient way to get downtown without parking. It was also cool to see the EV charging stations in the Wayfinder's parking lot. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - especially Kevin at the front desk! The rooms were clean, spacious, and relaxing. Really loved the overall vibe of the place - which felt hip and fun. My only complaint was the noise of the hallway doors - and there are a lot of them. I had to go down three separate hallways to get to my room and each hallway starts and ends with a very loud door that people let slam at all hours of the day. During the week, it wasn't so bad, but the weekend was crowded with people. I normally sleep like a baby but not with so many doors slamming in the night. If you are a light sleeper, you will need ear plugs and possibly a white noise machine to drown that out. Overall though, it was a great place to stay and I'd love to come back when the pool is open!
The location, staff, and dog-friendliness were all great! The room was quite spacious and well-appointed, and there was plenty of parking and grassy areas to walk the dogs.
The rooms, especially the doors, were not sound-proof at all. Additionally, 1-2 more hooks or racks for hanging towels in the bathroom would be great.
Shelly & the others at the front desk were so friendly, helpful & welcoming!! Room choices are great. Restaurant is Very good! Shuttle is very convenient to downtown to avoid parking fees!
Staff was outstanding
Beds nor so comfortable
The Wayfinder Newport Hotel was a great place to stay. The property felt clean, updated, and well cared for throughout. We stayed in a king suite, which was comfortable and nicely laid out with plenty of space to relax. The staff really stood out. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend it.
Love the breakfast options, and the views outside my room.

Cooler stopped working, bathroom outlet stopped working,
We loved our stay at The Wayfinder in March 2026. When we first pulled up, we were worried we might have picked the wrong place to stay due to the closed casino across the street and location near the highway, but once inside, we loved the immaculate interior with retro design. It’s a renovated old/school motor lodge with a full restaurant/bar. All the staff members we interacted with were super friendly, helpful, and professional. They upgraded us to a suite which was nicely appointed and had everything we needed. It was so clean and bright- we especially loved the comfy bed linens. We had delicious drinks and shrimp cocktail at the bar (yum!) and had brunch there the next morning too, which was excellent. Our server, Ashley, was sweet and accommodating, carefully checking with the chef about my food allergy. The hotel ran the new shuttle for the Saturday night of St Patrick’s Day weekend and provided free service into downtown, about a 7 min drive. Van driver, Eddie was great- positive attitude and kind. For the rest of our stay, we used Lyft to get to downtown which was simple and inexpensive. We will definitely stay at The Wayfinder again!
The staff were so friendly and approachable, hotel was spotless, room was a great size, had ample free parking, overall excellent hotel. Also very close to shops and some restaurants
Distance to town, was not possible to walk to town would need to use some form of transport.
Great experience at the recently renovated Wayfinder hotel
This was meant to be a relaxing weekend trip while visiting colleges with my son. After a lot of research, I chose the Wayfinder and our first night was honestly wonderful. The room was larger than expected, stylishly decorated, spotless, and shockingly quiet. Anyone who stays in hotels often knows how rare that is. No hallway noise, no slamming doors. It felt peaceful and restful, exactly what we needed. Unfortunately, the second night could not have been more different. After a long day of college tours, we returned to the hotel after dinner hoping to unwind before an early drive home. Instead, there was a loud party happening in the room next to us. When I stepped into the hallway to locate the noise, I found two women holding balloons, waiting to surprise a birthday guest. When I mentioned the noise to the front desk, the response was essentially that they were already aware and had seen the balloons come in. I was told they would keep an eye on the situation, but 30 minutes later the noise was still going strong. I knocked on the neighboring door to politely ask them to be mindful of the very thin walls. When the door opened, the smell of marijuana was overwhelming. I returned to my room and called the front desk again to explain what was happening. Their solution was to slide a note under the door asking the guests to stop. Shortly after that, I went into the bathroom and realized the smell of weed had made its way into our room. At that point, we decided to pack up and leave rather than spend the night surrounded by noise and smoke. I understand marijuana is legal in Rhode Island, and I fully respect people wanting to enjoy themselves. It just was not what I expected or wanted during our stay. The front desk clerk was kind and did what she could within the limits of the situation, and the two stars I am giving are for the excellent first night and for her professionalism. That said, I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet or restful stay. If, however, you are looking for a hotel that doubles as a party spot, the Wayfinder may be exactly what you want.
Great location and a wonderful hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and so pleasant ! We were addressed by 1st names by the staff and were always asked if we needed anything. The restaurant was really good !
Very helpful staff. Very clean hotel. Would stay again
Loved the boho beachy vibe.
The “park view” balcony was disappointing as it overlooked the parkING LOT!
Clean and welcoming
They were doing a bit of construction outside our door around 8am and it was pretty loud

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.
Our room wasn’t what was pictured on the website. There was paint where wainscoting should have been, laminate flooring where Berber carpet should have been, and only one chair (which was broken) in a room that slept four. It felt more like a hostel room than a hotel room. We were glad we brought earplugs because it was very noisy. And there was no mention of stairs that must be climbed. We will not recommend it and won’t likely stay there again.
Comfortable bed. Soft towels. Easy parking.
Not a great value. Very high price. Barking dogs at night.
