Valley River Inn

It was clean inside and outside, I stayed an extra night for work and even though check in time for my new room wasn’t until 4 they got me in at 11 the next day.

Beautiful property and the rooms were nice and big. The breakfast staff was amazing.

The “park and stay” for the airport did NOT work out at all. First, the shuttle service to the airport didn’t start until 6 am! Our flight was at 5:30 so that didn’t work. We thought the rate we booked at included parking there for the time away…come to find out this not! They were going to tack on an additional $12/day for parking. Sao….we ended up having to drive and park the airport anyway. Pretty disappointing

Very well maintained for an older facility. Looks like new in many respects.

The room was noisy in that you can hear voices next door and footsteps above the room (we were on the second floor). This is due to the age of the infrastructure and orginal construction, difficult to remedy without taking it down to studs. The only other complain was the shower control. Loose and difficult to control water temperature. Needs replacing.

We liked everything about the Valley River Inn. It's location is excellent next door to neighborhoods with great cafes and proximity to the airport. Everything is modern in the facility and in the spacious room that had lots of little nice touches and free amenities. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in town

Good service too slow

Spacious room, comfortable bed (I didn't want to leave!), the grounds were also nice. I didn't get a chance to try the breakfast.

I wasn't able to take the shuttle to the airport, because I needed to get there a half hour earlier than the shuttle operates. Yes, I know I should have booked sooner!

The location was great being really close to restaurants, the mall, University of Oregon. The on-site restaurant has amazing food and the staff is super friendly.

We are seniors, they sent us across the property to a corner for the elevator but you had to take steps up to get to it. Also no luggage carts. Went back and found a cart and determined we could avoid stairs by using walkway cross over that was never mentioned to us by staff.

It’s lovely setting. Rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated in minimalist style. Very relaxing.

The gym facility too small

The room was very clean, comfortable, & spacious. Elmers nearby was good & I liked the walking path by the river. The hot pot for tea & coffee is a good idea & the AC worked well. Overall a nice experience.

The coffee bar was nice but there was no breakfast. The rooms were very pricey & breakfast would have been welcome. The place is a maze & it was difficult to find our room unless you are in the interior. . Elevators were far away. The Sweetwater restaurant in the hotel has slow service & my Cobb salad was sparse & lettuce was brown. Find a better place to eat.

The man who checked me in was not friendly or neutral. Acted annoyed to have had to check me in. Not a great interaction but not terrible either.

Super comfortable room. They were very thoughtful to include a white noise machine and earplugs to help account for the noise. The river access was lovely, and the hotel itself was in great condition.

I personally didn't like the cost, but we just happened to be there on a busy weekend. My room individually was around 280 at night.

The staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The bartender made one of the best Old Fashioned cocktail I ever had. Ellie, the restaurant hostess, is truly an asset and keeper.

A little confusing trying to get those the 3rd floor.

The staff is amazing: Tommy, Josh, Mike, Adam, etc. They treat every guest as royalty.

It was clean and nicely renovated.

Just a couple little misses in the fit and finish of or bathroom. Mainly the shower door was off balance and didn’t stay closed a few in inches.

The location was awkwardly at the end of a mall parking lot though the river view was nice (though many rooms appear only to have a view of the parking lot).

The place was clean and quiet even though it was busy. I didn't use many of the property's amenities, so I can't comment on them. I would stay here again.

Beautifully renovated, rooms were spacious and lovely. The restaurant was outstanding, the food was fabulous! The service was exceptional. Highly recommend this lovely gem.

It was secure and it was quiet. The room was a good size and I like the privacy in the bathroom.

It’s kind of inconvenient to have to go so far to get some ice for your room. I wish they had more ice machines more readily available.

The property is beautifully kept up. It’s obvious that care has also been taken with the guest rooms too. It appears that all rooms have a patio (on the first floor) or balcony (on the upper floors). The staff was exceptional. The shuttle service was wonderful. We spent a week at the hotel and never needed to rent a vehicle and only used a ride share service a few times. Dining and a shopping were within walking distance. On site dining on the river was great.

The only complaint was that our bed was a bit more firm than we like but that was easy to overlook considering how nice everything else was. The restaurant was great but it is a bit on the pricey side for daily dining so just be prepared.

I liked the free parking

This is not a inn. You have to go through several buildings with luggage & all the entrances have stairs unless you walk allll the way to the front of the building they gave you and then you walk through a hallway outside that you need another key card for and the doors were outdated. The handicap parking area does not have a ramp inside or up. It had stairs. I pulled my luggage up the stairs to save time in a rush. Walking around is exhausting and cost me time. There’s no fridge, no microwave, or any vending machines in the building I was in. They put my room next to the ice machine & I could hear any time someone was getting ice. My sleep was terrible. The bed I could feel the springs. It was wonky. The pillows are so small and bunched up cotton balls. There was no support. I actually barely slept at this place and considered getting my air mattress. I only stayed for 3 nights. Immediately when I arrived at this location I regretted booking it. It is far from an Inn. A inn has private separate doors. Not multiple buildings that all need a key. Even though parking is free there’s barely any parking. The lot was so full I parked so far away from the building I was in. I had to carry my luggage, dog, and my wagon i had to pick up the stairs instead of walking for another 10 minutes to get through one building out the other and then PULLING the door open again and dragging my stuff inside. If you are handicapped, disabled, or impaired this place should mention this. I am disabled and I found this place super ableist. Also, upon check in the front desk receptionist gave me the dirtiest look when I arrived and her coworker helped me. Overall this place felt far from a hotel and I can’t believe I spent so much expecting a 4 star hotel. Its more 2 - 3 stars at least.

The location is excellent, with many shopping and dining options nearby. The rooms are modern, spacious, and well-equipped, with a large TV and very comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the outdoor pool. After a long drive from Crater Lake, this was a great place to relax and rest. Overall, the property offers very good quality at a reasonable price.

The microwave in Room 143 was almost broken and did not appear safe to use. After cooking mac and cheese for 3:30 mins it overheated and stayed hot for a while. It took three calls to the front desk before our concern was taken seriously, and unfortunately, the maintenance person never showed up. This left us concerned about the safety of future guests if the issue is not addressed.

Clean and convenient

Evidently housekeeping came in our room without notice. We had a large trash bag that we needed to use for our event. The trash bag was taken , we weren't aware that housekeeping was coming into our room. I looked for a please do not disturb sign but there wasn't one. Very curious

- big room - layout, with fridge and coffee maker near the sink - large counter space under the TV - beds were extremely comfortable - impressed with the different types of lighting - balcony! - cleanliness - amenities offered - location was amazing, close to shopping and freeway - restaurant onsite, great food/atmosphere, on the river - lobby is amazing, enjoyed spending time there

- price could be a bit better but it was understandable given holiday weekend

Was our second stay here in 7 days and this time they gave us a room on 1st floor in North Building. They gave us a room facing the courtyard instead of the parking lot which was greatly appreciated. Comfortable room and bed . Front desk employees friendly and helpful

The shower didn’t drain that quickly

I loved the warm and cozy decor of the lobby, the cleanliness of the entire hotel including my room being perfectly cleaned, the location being right on the river makes it sooooo peaceful and the free shuttle service. The front desk staff was nice too and it’s located in a nice convenient area. Lastly, the restaurant ambiance was great with its beautiful river view, and the servers and hosts were absolutely delightful. They were so friendly and courteous. One of my favorite things was the tea pot in the room!!! It was adorable and there was a great selection of teas. As a tea drinker, I don’t often get that luxury in hotel rooms. I loved it so much that I want to return for a vacation with others and stay in Valley River Inn again.

The restaurant servers and hosts were absolutely woooonderful but the food was not great. My medium well burger was not not medium well. It extremely dry and not well seasoned. But I was very hungry and don’t sending food back. I did inform the server and she was apologetic.

The Valley River Inn is amazing: 1) the staff understands customer service by always being helpful; 2) the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean; 3) the hotel provides daily refresh rather than the common every second or third day (or upon request); 4) the towels are large and soft; 5) the lobby and grounds are immaculate. In addition, the cost is competitive. I’m a Marriott rewards member. There’s a Marriott next door; however, I will always choose the Valley River Inn since their costs, quality of rooms, and staff are superior to the Marriott property.

There’s absolutely nothing to complain about at the Valley River Inn.

Shower was good and bathroom products great .Hallway noise minimal and can’t hear the people in the room next to us. Easy access from highway once you figured out the turns and a short ride to downtown .

I like how the staff was constantly cleaning and sanitizing the hallways, elevators and stairways. All the staff members were very hospitable. Our stay felt more like HOME than a stay in an Inn..

Hands down the best dog-friendly hotel I've ever stayed at. The river walk right nearby was perfect for morning dog walks, and the location couldn't be better — a mall, shops, and restaurants all within easy walking distance.
