Hotel Villa Carlton - Adults Only

The hotel does not claim to provide breakfast, only coffee in the morning. But "coffee" includes some breads and toppings (both savory and sweet) and was fine for us. The decor is humorous and tasteful. The hotel was spotlessly clean. It is between the train station and the historic center of town. A transit pass is provided via email and there are frequent trolleys leaving nearby to the old town center.

The room was very comfortable, large, the bed was comfortable. The pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. They were able to accommodate my gluten-free needs. Everybody was very kind.

Parking was a bit of a gamble. I paid for the parking and then on my last day there I wanted to go for a hike, but decided not to because if I left, I would lose my parking spot.

Great location, only a few min from the Mirabell Palace and less than 7 min from Salzburg Hbf (train station), and enjoyable walking distance to the Old Salzburg across the river. We absolutely loved the quirkiness of the place. Very tidy place too.

No tea and coffee facility in the room. Neither there was any minibar / fridge. It has only the tiniest tv. Also, only one thinnest pillow per person - they need to spend a bit of money and consider the sleeping comfort of their guests - you can easily give yourself wry neck with such pillows (speaking as a health professional). I hope they take these as constructive feedback. Having said that we didn’t mind it since the weather was mostly in our side and we barely stayed in. Also Andreas was an amazing front desk manager who made sure to look after us with all our needs. So all in all no big issues.

We were late arriving and the male staff member stayed beyond his shift finish time to ensure we got checked in he was extremely helpful and very kind. He also ensured that we had free parking until a space became available at the hotel

I did require some help next morning and found the woman assistant rude and unhelpful which did take from the overall great experience we had. Location was great very close to old town and the male staff was so helpful in finding us parking until a spot became available at the hotel

Great hotel in a great location between the main train station and the old town - both walkable. Quite quirkily decorated which gives the hotel an individual, personal vibe Large room, comfy bed, good shower. Super clean. A delicious light breakfast is included - hot drinks (tea, coffee), orange juice, rolls and croissants. Vending machine just outside the breakfast room stocked with basic snacks, cold drinks, beer and wine

We stayed during the heatwave and the A/C was not very effective. A small fridge in the room would be a good addition

Room was small and felt like a small prison. No fridge, no coffee or tea making facilities, only one pillow each, no overhead room light, had to rely on lamps with harsh filament globes and no shades, getting in and particularly out of the bathtub/shower woukd have been impossible if not dangerous for someone slightly incapacitated, breakfast provided was terrible!

Gute Lage für ein paar Tage Salzburg, zwischen Bahnhof und Altstadt/Festspielhaus, sehr schönes Haus, sehr freundliche, entgegenkommende Mitarbeiter - sehr empfehlenswert

nicely furnished rooms, friendly ambiance, easy to reach location, easy parking on site, good breakfast ( good coffee machine), public transportation quite close ,close to the river , to the park, to the Mozartheum and to the walking paths .

there was no fridge in the room. and we missed that, especially in this hot summer, not just for drinks ( we could get ice cubes downstairs) but also to keep medicine cool. Staff did keep some of our stuff in their fridge but it would have been more convenient to have a fridge in the room.

We didn’t pay attention when we booked, but our bedroom didn’t have a kettle and a fridge and it was really hot so we didn’t have cold water. The pillow was not comfortable.

Ubytování ve vile s vlastním parkovištěm. Pokoj pěkný a prostorný. Podél řeky pěkná procházka do centra. Přesto, že mělo být bez snídaně, podávala se ranní káva a pečivo s marmeládou. Vše čisté, do sprchy doporučuji žabky. Ráda se zde ubytuji znovu.

All in all the stay was good. Our Junior suite was spacious with a small sitting area and lovely balcony. Bed was comfortable and bathroom small but convenient. Service however was spotty. The woman harsh and the man helpful and welcoming. Breakfast as described in several reviews so didn’t expect much. Was surprised they don’t allow coffee to be taken back to the room! The 3 star rating relates to that, the fact that there is no ice available to keep beverages cold, no tea for tea kettle in room, sparse towels, and thought there was no air conditioning as advertised. As we packed up to leave we saw an additional remote that apparently controlled the air. Would have been nice to have been informed! Location is great and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay as long as expectations are checked.

An excellent hotel! The lobby, room, and hotel decorations are fun and quirky. They had a quality breakfast as well. The best part is the service which I cannot brag on enough. Big shoutout to Isabella, she is incredibly helpful.

С улицы звуки очень громкие, если открыть окна, а при закрытых кондиционер с жарой справлялся средне. Было очень душно. Подушки очень мягкие и тонкие, неудобные, кровать тоже слишком мягкая. Завтрака, можно сказать, нет совсем, хотя формально он в наличии. На деле это буквально только чай-кофе и круассан. Больше ничего! Ну хоть бы йогурт в упаковках предложили. В довершении всего накануне дня нашего отъезда сломался единственный лифт, и его вроде бы починили,но в 5 утра, когда мы уезжали в аэропорт, он опять оказался сломанным. И мы с тяжелыми чемоданами спускались по всем лестницам пешком. Остался неприятный осадок.

Sehr zentrale Lage. Wir konnten alle Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen. Das Hotel hat viele schöne Accessoires. Eiswürfel werden für die Getränke am Abend angeboten. Ein kleines Frühstück ist am Morgen hergerichtet als Service. Echt toll 😀

Wir haben nichts negatives entdeckt.

Nettes Personal. Gute Lage. Leckere Croissants und Marillenmarmelade. Matratze gut. Klimaanlage auf dem Zimmer. Gutes und sehr sauberes Bad.

Keine Kaffeemaschine auf dem Zimmer. Doppelbett leider mit getrennten Matratzen. Es gibt Parkplätze, aber es ist sehr beengt.

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Carlton in Salzburg! The hotel has such a fun, artistic vibe that makes it feel completely different from a typical hotel. Every room is beautifully decorated with its own unique style and personality, while still fitting perfectly with the overall design of the property. Everywhere you look there’s something interesting to admire… it truly feels like so much thought and creativity went into every detail. A special shoutout to Andy (I believe he’s the owner), who has the best energy and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. His passion for the hotel really shines through and adds so much to the experience. The rooms were comfortable, had air conditioning (which was very appreciated during our stay), the elevator worked perfectly, and the location was excellent for exploring Salzburg on foot. If you’re looking for a hotel with character, charm, and people who genuinely care about creating a memorable experience, I highly recommend Villa Carlton. We’d happily stay here again!

Ich finde man könnte bei diesen Preisen etwas mehr in Personal investieren. Die Rezeption sollte länger besetzt sein, und es sollte mindestens ein Angestellter rund um die Uhr vor Ort sein.

What a super hotel. Great welcome from the man on reception. Hotel was tastefully decorated in boutique style & the room was amazing! A separate lounge area to relax & a great bathroom with beautiful toiletries. It was exceptionally quiet & we were grateful to be able to park our car. There were no negatives & I would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Salzburg..

Perfect location - close to the railway station and to all the places of interest. Nice villa, quiet street, comfortable room/bed; very clean.

Breakfast could have been better (they do warn it’s very basic - but even so, the choice of bread is not great…) They could do a little bit more to make visitors feel at home - small things make a big difference.

We checked in after hours and the process was very smooth. The room had everything we needed and staff was outstanding! The location was very walkable to shops and dining (as well as the train station). Loved the atmosphere and amenities of the hotel. Should we return to Salzburg, we will certainly stay there again!

Very helpful staff. Room was very quiet and well equipped with plug points - people nowadays want to travel with and charge laptops, mobile phones, etc.. We liked the quirky and immaculate decor.

We understood a minimal breakfast was offered and were happy with that. One minor annoyance was that on the 2 days we were there, the coffee machine was broken; a sign indicated filter coffee was available, but the jugs presumably there for the purpose were empty, so there was only hot water with teabags or coffee granules. Disappointing.

The hotel has a great location, and the staff were very friendly. The room was large and quiet. The bathroom was spacious, with a great walk-in shower. A big problem for me was the fact that there were no overhead light sources in the room, only a number of low-wattage lamps. The room was like a crypt at night. I did not enjoy being in the room at all in the evenings. I could not see anything. Likewise, I would have loved to have had a mini-fridge to store fresh things, but the room didn’t have one. The free breakfast included breads, but no hot items. The biggest problem with this hotel is that the reception is not manned after 7 pm. So, if you forget your key, you’re screwed. They only give you one key during check-in and that key is necessary to power the room. So, if you don’t remember to take your key from the power box, then big problems can arise, as occurred to me. I left for dinner at 8 pm one evening and forgot to take the key out of the box. There is a phone number to call in such situations. As a North American, I had never called a European number before. I tried several times, but could not connect to it. I waited nervously in the lobby for about 20 minutes before some other guests arrived. Luckily, they were Austrian and were able to get through to the emergency number. We were given instructions on how to access a master key from a lock box outside the hotel. This allowed me to get into my room and access my own room key. I suppose that an unethical person might have been able to access all of the rooms with this master key, and so I don’t consider this to be a good solution. In any case, I was only able to get back into my room due the kindness of other guests who I had to wait for patiently in the lobby to arrive and rescue me. This creates a very precarious situation for guests. Despite the hotel’s many good features, I would not stay here again due to the lock-out risk.

A more inclusive breakfast would have been nice. Fruit isn't hard.

This is a theme hotel with lovely paintings and modern art at every turn. The staff were always keen to please and have created a happy hotel. We've been across Europe for the last 2 weeks and this is the best hotel we've stayed in 😁

Nobody mentioned the huge bier Keller across the river until our last night. 🍻

إقامة رائعة في Hotel Villa Carlton 🌟 الفندق لطيف جدًا وهادئ، والنظافة فيه ممتازة. جميع العاملين كانوا خدومين ولطيفين جدًا ويتعاملون باحترافية وابتسامة دائمة. موقع الفندق استراتيجي وقريب من كل شيء، مما سهّل علينا التنقل واستكشاف سالزبورغ بكل راحة. الإقامة كانت مريحة جدًا بدون أي منغصات، وبالتأكيد سأكرر التجربة مرة أخرى. We had a great stay at Hotel Villa Carlton for our city break. The location was ideal, the staff were polite and helpful, and everywhere was clean and comfortable, including our room which was spacious and nicely decorated. The complimentary breakfast is a really nice touch and although it is basic, it is really nice to be able to get a nice/tea coffee and bread/jam before you set out for the day. Overall I couldn't fault the hotel at all - we had a great stay and would recommend for anyone visiting Salzburg.

Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr gemütlich, aber ein so kleines Petit-Dejouner passt weder dazu noch zu dem stolzen Zimmerpreis. Mit kleinem Aufwand könnte man hier einen echten Mehrwert schaffen.
