They lost their hot water and pressure on my second day and we had to take cold showers for 3 days. It was disappointing and unfortunate.

I've stayed at this hotel the last 4 years annually and it has really gone down hill. My room had a musty smell, the phone nor TV worked in the room upon arrival. I called the front desk and was able to get the TV fixed by maintenance. The tub was peeling and appeared dirty. I went to buy a tub mat as I didn't even want to step in the tub with bare feet. In addition, the elevators are extremely slow.

Water damage in bathroom, shower shelf coming apart from wall. Not enough linens provided. There should not be a charge for breakfast buffet. Comfort inn and cheaper hotels have better continental breakfast for free that is better.

As a frequent traveler who spends countless nights in hotels for business, I can say with absolute certainty that my recent weekend stay at the Norfolk Waterside Hotel on Main Street was nothing short of spectacular. Words truly cannot express how impressed and relaxed I was from the absolute moment I checked in until the second I departed.First and foremost, a massive thank you goes out to the housekeeping team. Walking into a room that is genuinely clean and completely spotless set the perfect tone for a stress-free business trip. Their flawless attention to detail did not go unnoticed.The dining experience here is on an entirely different level. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, but what truly blew me away was the world-class service. The Manager on Duty, Ms. Brandy, possesses a rare level of warm hospitality and sharp professionalism that instantly melts your heart and makes you feel valued. On the line, Mike and Hanna were absolute stars at the grill—they were incredibly kind, helpful, and you could taste that every single item was prepared with genuine love. To top it all off, our waiter Avion provided elite-level table service. He was prompt, exceptionally kind, and deeply respectful. I was amazed when he remembered my exact order from the morning prior!The entire staff deserves endless thanks and gratitude for orchestrating such an amazing, relaxing, and seamless stay. They have mastered the art of customer service. Whenever I touchdown in Virginia for future business, I already know exactly where I am staying. I have officially found my home away from home! We stayed for 5 days at a convention. Every interaction with a staff member was terrific! Our housekeeping service for room 2322 was excellent, and staff members were helpful and friendly without exception. The lounge (we are platinum) was on the ground floor and had fine breakfast in the morning and snacks in the evening. Drinks were well stocked. There are some fit and finish issues, and the elevators were very slow at peak times of day, but overall it was a good stay.

I attended meetings in Norfolk for three days in July. Although the conference staff (folks who attended to the buffet and cleared plates) was amazing. Super friendly and they did a great job. The hotel! The towels are the thinnest, cheapest towels I have ever seen at a Marriott. They resembled towels at a Motel 6 (no exaggeration). When I noticed one of the clean towels had a stain, I asked the front desk for a new set of clean towels. They never brought the towels. I asked at a time when there was no one else at the front desk. It should have been taken care of in minutes. My room was fine and it was clean. I liked the couch in front of the window. However, no one told me that they don't clean daily. I was there two nights and never had my room attended to. The conference center bathrooms were also not very clean. The garbage cans didn't get emptied until later in the day, when they were overflowing.

Mr. Joshua was an exceptional young gentleman. He exemplified a very friendly and professional demeanor. You need more employees like him. He deserves a promotion.

We are attending a music conference at the Waterside Marriott in Norfolk, VA. From the valet service, when we arrived, to our front desk experience the staff has been very courteous and helpful. The valet reps particularly Kris, Jamar and Alex were on point finding me a cart to help unpack then, helped register our car. Kris went the extra mile, after our car was parked, and went back after I left a bag on the car floor in back. Airriana, at the front desk, was equally helpfu getting us checked in and has such a lovely disposition. You can tell that the staff takes pride in what they do here. I look forward to the remainder of our stay knowing these young people are on staff.

Literally one of the WORST hotel stays I've ever had. Marriott should be ashamed of this property. I'd give the room a B and everything else F-. Incredibly run down. Breakfast was terrible. Power surges knocked the AC, elevators, and escalators out. I WILL NOT be back and DO NOT recommend this hotel to anyone. Norfolk is in desperate need of nicer, new hotels. This whole experience really made me angry.

I want to follow up with a final review of our stay at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. In spite of 2 nights of sleep deprivation because of a noisy neighboring room the front desk staff were very understanding and helpful. They offered to switch rooms for us to the top floor. A special thank you goes to Caroline, the front desk supervisor and Victoria. Both were sympathetic and apologetic and addressed the situation. After moving rooms it was PERFECT! We didn’t hear a thing and slept like a rock. Lastly I would like to also recognize the Parking attendants who were always ready and hustled to assist us. Kahil and Temzel were pleasant and had a smile and helped us on more than one occasion. Overall after a rough start we finished on a good note and I would recommend this Marriott. Great location and friendly staff who want to help.

They did not have the room we booked through Booking.com even with a confirmation number. Substituted a disappointing room.

I did not complain that night, but the guests in room 1628, right next door to me were extremely disorderly! Around 12-2 am there was something happening that caused my walk and the mirror on the wall to constantly shake!

The view and the bed

The valets were not reliable, the ac was not cold, the shower pressure was not very good, and at one point whether on hot or cold water became hot/scalding, lost power to half the room.

Valet service was nice. Everything else was okay. Front desk wasn’t that friendly.

Brody was great. Very polite and friendly.

The cafeteria was well-lit and clean. Staff checked with you periodically. My egg white omelette was perfect.

Great restaurant! Wonderful view of the harbor. Rooftop patio was perfect for fireworks viewing. Friendly staff.

On site Parking lot was full due to Tall Ships festival so we had to park farther away. This was quite inconvenient.

The only thing that was annoying was the sliding glass, barn door opening to the bathroom. While it was esthetically beautiful, it was very noisy when opening and closing it.

Since it's a Marriott Hotel, I anticipated modern toilets rather than low ones that feel like you're sitting on the floor. Additionally, the molding around the shower stall needs to be replaced.

Fantastic location, parking garage accessibility was a nice surprise. The best part may have been the pool and the pools rooftop views of the Elizabeth River.

Great check in experience. Jacqueline Davis checked us in at desk. She was very efficient and cordial. Check in was seemless. Marriott fortunate to have her. Temzel took care of my luggage. He was new on the block but done a great job. We had a cordial talk going to my room he was very respectful and efficient. We have stayed here for several years and he is right up at the top taking care of us. Great job guys. Marriott should be proud.

GREAT LOCATION Lobby Atmosphere was worn down for the price furniture Stained. Line and wait time to long. Rooms were not very clean and curtains were ripped Pool area was Worned chairs outside and inside was gross and really Stained No WOW factor...I.was surprised for the Value it was way over priced.

Location has great views of the military ships on service. Close to cafes and bars. The local restaurant - Capo - is good Italian food and the bartenders are knowledge. As I use this location to get to the airport it is also convenient without being a remote airport hotel.

I want to commend Arianna, whonwas a deligjt and an absolute joy upon checking into the hotel. She made the process smooth and was the epitome of what should happen at the front lines of hospitality. If you have Customer Service Employee of the Month, she is deserving of it. I didn't give a 5 because I had a connecting room and was right at the elevator two things that are a no as my preference. We were there in VA to plan the funeral of a loved one and we will be back next week to attend the services and have already booked to stay here again. Nonetheless rooks were clean and service satisfactory.

Nice location and looks ok from the outside. People at the desk were pleasant. But once you get into the hotel the shine comes off. The elevators are ridiculously slow, and wallpaper is peeling off the walls in the hallways. Our room had an odd floor plan, but I kind of liked it. Bathroom had a low ceiling with 4 or 5 different access panels. I could overlook all that, but the thing that both of us immediately realized and commented on was that there was no soap by the sink. Only a pump container in the shower. So imagine an entire hotel worth of people with poopy fingers because there was no easy way to wash your hands after using the toilet. Needless to say we didn't eat buffet breakfast either morning. Using common serving utensils that bathroom fingers have been all over. No thanks. Won't be staying at this location again.

Jacqualine was very pleasant and helpful. She explained all aspects of my stay and the lounge and amenities that came with my room made me feel welcomed and worth the cost of my 2 day stay. The room was spacious and clean.

We loved the location. Just a short walk from the cruise port, great local coffee, and an awesome Irish pub. On top of it, I forgot our luggage tags for our cruise, the front desk hooked us up with zip ties so we could tag our luggage. 10/10 great above and beyond service!

Visit to the Marriott was very good. But we do have an exceptions. The hospitality to the guest was minimum. No one greeted us professionally nor either responded when spoken to a pleasant responded when spoken to a pleasant way . However, two exceptions the front desk reception by Carolyn and the valet assistant by the name of Chris both of them wrapped. I think the corporation need to give some Customer Service courses for the majority of the other employees.

We love this hotel. Lots of fun things to do for families and great restaurants at night. We had an issue with the TV in our room and Santana came very quickly to work on the issue. He was super friendly and helpful. We definitely are looking forward to coming back again.

Other than the hotel being immaculate, the staff as well were really great. Chris in valet was prompt and was very helpful in my time of need.
