Had to pay for parking, the other Hampton inn by the university no charge.
Pay for parking, room was dirty and the blinds didn’t work.
Proximity to stadium, quality restaurants and interstate couldn't have been any better. 10 minute walk to the game and dining options. 2 right turns leaving the hotel parking lot and we were on I-40 West heading back home.
Parking is a bit high to not be valet.
Friendly staff. Location was good.
Charged for parking and breakfast.
We had a studio suit which was very comfortabel. Lots of room to relax.
Had to pay for parking which was very expensive. Bathroom in our room was in desparate need of update. Breakfast was very average.
Location
Paid parking
Rooms had cold ac, and was cleaned well
Having to pay $83 to park on lot when I rented 2 rooms for 2 nights and spent over $800 at this hotel for 2 nights
Good
Every thing good
Really enjoyed the stay just wish it was on different circumstance.
I really DID NOT like the idea of paying to park on property .It wasn’t gated and vehicles still could have been broken into.
Room was clean and AC worked well
Front desk staff was rude. When we checked out at 5am the person who came from the back office was barefoot and loudly on the phone. They tried charging me for 2 stays after failing to update my dates on the first one. The front desk staff when we first arrived were very unprofessional and talked about us in front of us saying “as long as we get paid I don’t care” talking about the room mix up. The hotel had 2 elevators with one always being down and the only one up taking 5 minutes to work. The hallways were constantly dirty.
Loved it all
Close to hospital.large spacious rooms with kitchen and cooking area with seperate bedrooms
Nothing
Breakfast and main entrance was very appealing
My room ac unit was leaking. My bed made noise all night. It was rust and hair everywhere and the toilet ran for what seem to be 10 whole minutes
1. You would think paying $40-$50 a night for parking would get some sort of sense of safety or security. Random people loitering around the parking lot at all hours, asking for money I would not expect. 2. I had to bag up my own trash and ask for towels twice during a 4 night stay. 3. The rooms are in desperate need of an update. One of our light fixtures didn’t have a shade on it. Just an exposed bulb. Tubs stained, cracked bathroom sink. Bathrooms are dark. 4. After spending 4 nights here, only 1 of the 2 elevators worked 95% of time. After reading past reviews, this was also mentioned . Long waits for elevator. 5. Ice machines were on each floor. Only a couple of them worked. Also noted in past reviews. 6. Washer and dryer in laundry DID work for $3.50 a load each. 7. Multiple people complaining at front desk noted when passing through lobby. 8. As far as location, in general it is good. Vanderbilt directly across the street. Quite a few restaurants within walking distance. Taco shop right across street was good. BBQ place across street was good. Starbucks and McCallister’s a block away. Centennial Park with the Parthenon is very close. We visited around early evening and there were many people playing soccer, frisbee, etc. in the outskirts of the park near the road, there were a few homeless bedding down for the night. I wouldn’t stroll around after dark. I understand that things break down. But it doesn’t seem that anything ever gets really repaired. Hilton needs to take a look at this location and make necessary changes.
The outdoor pool and breakfast
No inside/outside jacuzzi
Computer system was down. No wifi. Reserved a king bed and had two queen beds, bathtub had no drain plug, only one of two elevators worked. No hair dryer in room. One queen bed had frame broke. Had to pay for on-site parking.
This hotel is tired and definitely needs an update. First impression walking into the lobby was depressing - furniture was worn, check-in desk was cluttered and associate was slouched over the computer. Guest room had stains on carpet and in the bathtub, but bed was comfortable, AC worked well and there was plenty of hot water. Coffee in the morning was cold and I reported it to the front desk, but associate didn’t appear too concerned. We didn’t eat the breakfast, but it looked very poor. There was some sliced bread and bagels, but no muffins or pastries and no fruit. There are better Hampton Inns in Nashville. Would not stay at this one again! Parking was $35/ night!!
Beds were soft
Shower was dirty. Only one elevator working at a time. Breakfast wash trash and worker comment to other guest that she has other stuff to do was unprofessional when items were low. Staff was not helpful at all, stayed on their personal phones.
Location. The room was dirty and had mold. Normal things, like having a ice bucket in the room, no luggage cart to bring your suitcases in, Having to pay for parking even though I was there for a procedure at Vanderbilt (I has told because I booked the room though Booking.com and not Vanderbilt they couldn't allow it. I didn't know that Vanderbilt could book hotel rooms for patients and come to find out, they don't). This room was no better than what Motel 6 or Super 8 would have.(truth be told, their rooms are probably better). Not happy with this stay at all and to think that all my other stays at Hampton Inns, I considered you one of the better hotels around. Gerald R. Lang, Tennessee Valley Forest Products
Everything.
Two star experience at a five star price. Very much in disrepair. Only one elevator working and super slow. Broken tile in elevator floor. Walls gouged near elevator. Paid $84 for two nights parking, yet observed a street person sitting on the trunk of a parked car. It’s understood that because it is near Vanderbilt it will be more expensive, but there have to be better options than this. Disappointed in this Hilton property.
The bed was comfortable
Elevator didn’t work, pool closed
Bathtub was chipped and had grime inside. Non working ice machine
Safe and clean tub shower. Overall run down looking.
I would be hoping for free parking bcoz this is property parking I shouldn't be paying $42 extra for parking. I didnt like that part at all.
I had to pay extra $42 for parking which i didnt like it all.
Convenient
Needs updated
My experience was not good. The parking fee was ridiculous—$47 including tax for one night, which was almost 40% of the cost of my room. I don’t like that the hotel charges such an excessive fee for parking, especially when guests are already paying to stay there. This should either be included in the room rate or clearly disclosed before booking. The high parking cost left a very negative impression of my stay.
the excessive parking fee made the stay disappointing.
Clean
Parking fee
A lot of space and staff were very friendly
good
i love it
staff was great. rooms clean and breakfast was good.
Close to my destination
My room was located next to the laundry room and it was loud with constant talking and miscellaneous noise. I think it’s ridiculous to pay $42 to park at a place where I am supposed to be a guest.
Have to pay to park
Helpful staff and quiet room
Having to pay to park. This was not revealed until I booked the room.
did not have to pay parking with handicap card
Bed not comfy
Hampton Inn is one of our chains of choice when we travel, and we're usually pretty happy with our stay. This one came up a little short. First off, they have their own parking lot but you have to pay (a fortune) to park. When we got to our room, we discovered the entire floor was a little damp, like it had been shampooed recently. And closer to the air conditioning unit, the carpet was downright sodden. There was also a lampshade missing from a wall sconce. We got multiple texts asking how our stay was so finally I mentioned the wet carpet and the lampshade. The manager said to come by the desk "for compensation." So I did. When I identified myself, the manager said brusquely, "Give me 5 minutes." I waited while he worked on his computer. But then another couple came up to him and he proceeded to help them rather than helping me since I'd been waiting. Not sure what the compensation was, but I didn't want to waste my time standing around so I gave up. My husband ended up having a horrible allergy attack from the damp conditions in the room, I'm sure that mold or mildew was starting to grow. While in the lobby I heard another guest complaining about the same wet carpet issue in their room, so obviously they have some maintenance to do! Just not the caliber of stay we're used to at the Hampton Inn!
Front desk clerk (can't remember his name, I believe he was Jamaican?) was wonderful - he didn't have the room we booked, so he offered us free parking for our trouble and found us a comparable room. Overall a great experience!
The room was great and well accommodated. Bed pillows were lacking, but other than that, bathroom and bedroom were very nice!
I was very disappointed that I had to pay $42.53 to park in the hotel parking lot. The bath soap and conditioner were either not working or out in the shower. The bath towels you dried off on smelled sour.
We stayed 6/13 weekend. My first thought walking in the lobby no one greeted as we walked in.Hospitality definitely not there strongest. As we got in the room and opened the door , the smell was just horrible.Smelled musty, and like urine. We thought maybe lowering the ac would help.I sprayed air freshener Thinking maybe it’s that the room wasn’t in use for a while. After turning the ac on.The cold was like wet .I looked up at the ceiling definitely they had water spots and chipping of the paint . So I wouldn’t be surprised it had mold in the walls somewhere. Water or urine spots in the carpet. The mattress on the bed was horrible! You could feel the wires from the sides.Seem like the mattress was picked off of the side of the road!We had an extra fridge sitting on the floor in the room. Not sure why? If you get this #308 just know the ice machine doesn’t work. But makes noise all day all night. Not sore why they don’t just unplug it. Walls are definitely thin.Wall paper peeling. Now the shower! You will get hot water! But the bottom of the tub was horrible it was ruff had to shower with my crocs on! The food basic bland and boring. Barely consumable. 1 waffle maker for entire hotel. The lobby was hot no ac blowing. So enjoy your food while sweating! Being, that the area is in Vanderbilt. You think it would be decent!Since we were out in about just needed a place to sleep. We sucked it up.As we were packing I looked over and seen the tall dresser have mold on it. Makes sense why my throat was becoming itchy. Wouldn’t be surprised if the ac unit has finding of mold! This place definitely needs a remolding A.S.A.P! I believe as long as they have some customers they are happy with that. With a big name “Hilton” this is embarrassing. I think our stay would have been better at a motel 6! “Definitely will change to Marriott!” If you see any good reviews I’m sure it’s family and friends of the employees!
We stay at Hampton Inns most of the time when traveling. I thought this would be a nice hotel since it's in the Vanderbilt/West End area in Nashville. This place is not that old, but it's worn out. My guess is there's been too many rowdy football fans coming through. The staff is not that great, either. I get the impression they are doing the bare minimum. When I checked in, the clerk was unpacking a lot of boxes out in the lobby. There were also a number of boxes piled up around the back of the check in area. It just wasn't very neat looking. A stack of souvenir T-shirts were wadded up on a shelf, which desperately needed attention. I know there may have been a reason for the poor state of the lobby, but I just got a bad feeling the moment I stepped in the building. There was a huge rip in the wallpaper next to the elevator. The elevator floor indicator lights also didn't work. Now for our room. The 2 queen beds sagged so bad we thought we would roll onto the floor if we got close to the edge. There was no drain stopper in the tub and water still backed up. There was only 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper and no spare. I'm glad I brought my hair dryer as there wasn't one in the bathroom. I had to ask for a plastic laundry bag and the head housekeeper practically threw them at me as she ran past. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special at all. It just wasn't laid out in a very welcoming manner. I didn't know until I arrived there was a fee for parking. I did see that it's listed on the website, but it was waaay down the page, plus I just wasn't expecting to have to look for the price of parking. It also seemed to be done through a separate company, not the hotel. I found that strange. It was outrageous. It states $35 per night, but after taxes, etc. I was charged over $42. I've never understood why this is not included in my price to stay at the hotel. Needless to say, we will never stay here again. We will be making numerous trips to Vanderbilt Medical Center in the upcoming months, but we'll make sure to get a better hotel with stellar reviews. I'm sure there's one nearby that can certainly beat this Hampton Inn.
Nothing.
Had to pay for parking I. Their parking lot
Close to down town
Parking is not free
Nothing
I didn’t like to stay at all room was not clean pillows had mold on them. Phone didn’t work dirty walls. Dirty vents sheets had a funny smell.
Checked in at midnight after a long day at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital dealing with my son's serious injury. Parking lot was very dark and only had one spot left so I did not notice the signs for paid parking. When I came out to leave at 7am, I could then see the signs about paid parking and subsequently found a yellow "parking invoice" from ParkHappyLLC on my windshield which said "You were parked in violation of our Terms and Conditions". I scanned the QR code to find that my bill was $76. The hotel clerk later said the normal fee was $42.50 (which is only posted in the fine print of the hotel website with no details on how to pay, penalties, etc.). I left my phone and email on the ParkHappyLLC contact site but never received a reply. The signs do not declare any "terms and conditions", fees, penalties, or any other info. Turns out the LLC is being sued for myriad illegal and unethical business practices in a class action case filed in November 2025 and which I am not a party to as well. I complained to the hotel manager and cannot believe Hilton would be associated with such a nasty, predatory business. It's not like there were roaming guards, valets, or anything worth freaking $42.50 to park for 7 hours. Oh, and the hotel needs upgrades and some serious cleaning.
I like the location and the property. Staff is very nice.
This time around the breakfast was a bit messy and lacking basic items. The one waffle machine was broken and the station itself was extremely messy. Garbages were full.
Location, sq ft of room, bed was firm.
Shampoo was the same as soap, all drawers in the room would not stay closed. Parking on the property is expensive; I understand gated parking, but for the cost, I would not have expected to have my center cap stolen and another car's window busted out. Shower was the worst I have ever been in - no pressure or stream.
Close to the hospital I needed to go to
Adjoining rooms
Your staff was A-one.
Great staff.
Proximity to event we were attending and close enough to walk to place and not have to worry about paying to park.
We were required to pay for parking. We were told it was $35. However you have to do it through an online service that's charged extra fees increasing that to over $40. Disclosure about parking never stated that it wasn't a flat $35. Common areas like hallways and elevators were not cooled which caused it to be very warm within the hotel if not in your room.
Across the street from Vanderbilt, very convenient.
Highly overpriced. Its essentially a glorified Hilton-family motel, with decades-old carpet, popcorn ceiling, mediocre breakfast, squeaky beds, a dead stinkbug on the carpet. No restaurant onsite or within walking distance. We paid more than $400 a night, two nights with taxes was over $900. Nashville is overall extremely expensive, I guess they dont have a ton of hotels so the price gouge especially during graduation. Other than graduation and for attending country music events (not for me), theres really not a whole lot of reasons to visit that city. On top of those prices, they charge extra for parking ($35/night). I dont expect to go back anytime soon if ever.
Plenty of choice for the breakfast. The place is convenient for Nashville.
It is pretty nonsense that the parking has to be paid, especially $40 (including the taxes) per night. It is ridiculously pricey especially when the night at the hotel is already expensive. Other than that, my bed sheets had many stains. The soundproofing was very bad, we felt like we were in the same room than our neighbors.
Location
Strong Oder in the room was terrible at first. Whatever cleaning supplies were used is overkill. Rates were inflated for a busy weekend, but it was expected. Soap bottle in shower was empty, good thing we brought our own. I don’t like that the parking situation is third party managed and that the staff just simply point at sign leaving you figure it out.
Location! Also, Tammy the breakfast supervisor, is wonderful! Very friendly and kept everything stocked up before anyone had to ask!!! Coffee included!
Very expensive, felt gouged because it was graduation weekend at the universities!!
This hotel gets two stars and that is only on account of the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (everyone was lovely during a very busy weekend) and its convenient location for Vanderbilt University. The accommodations otherwise would get zero. My hotel room on the 7th floor did not have a phone, a clock, an iron or a hair dryer. It had towels and bedding (of questionable cleanliness) and was otherwise dirty and looked like it had been forgotten in time. I had to put towels on the sofa before I could sit on it or put any of my belongings on the furniture. When I walked in, the desk/table had remnants of chapstick or some other sticky substance all over it. It definitely had not been cleaned between guests. I used my own antibacterial wipes to clean it and every other surface in the room. The bathroom had water damage surrounding the shower and the ceiling and also looked like it hadn't seen a cleanser in quite some time. But all of that would have been forgivable had the room come with a blackout shade on the window. Instead, the room only had a roller shade for privacy and I woke up with the sun on each morning of my stay. It was graduation weekend and the hotel was at capacity as was the staff, who all tried their best. Unfortunately, the crowded hotel meant that waiting for help at the front desk took forever. When the hotel was busy, waiting for the elevators could also take as long as 10 minutes, which was not okay. The crowds that would gather during that time meant that sometimes you would have to wait for another empty elevator so up to 15-20 minutes. In general, this property clearly lacks oversight and is in desperate need of either a full room renovation or at least some basic updates. Even the lobby furniture is gross. Our family members staying on the 3rd floor had similar issues (not a single working phone) and found bugs in their rooms. This is the third Hampton Inn I have stayed at in the last 3 weeks and was by far the worst. I am a Hilton Diamond member and paid $872 for two nights at this hotel. I would never stay here again (for convenience stay at the Holiday Inn across the street!) What a mess, Hilton. Do better.
Your typical Hampton stay. Front desk were friendly. Breakfast was borderline cold (it's free, whatever). Breakfast hint, it gets crowded. Go out the door near the waffles and sit outside. The room was fine but upon closer look the fridge cabinet was all funky and delaminating (it got wet at some point). The iron stopped working. The bed was fine. It was clean enough. The price was steep given the appointments. Typical Nashville weekend rates.
Location is close to Vanderbilt. Hotel was clean and quiet as it's not on the main street. Staff was helpful. Would stay again.
Breakfast was very good, though I would have enjoyed other fruit besides apples. Coffee and tea water could have been hotter.

Having to pay to park in the hotel lot and the lot has potholes to boot; homeless people hanging out on the property; not the best side of town.
Frustrating experience. The pool and jacuzzi were closed. Many high school students stayed there so it was noisy and crowded. THEY OVERCHARGED ME. I used Booking.com for $1363.30 and they charged me $1547.78.
I used Booking.com and the price was supposed to be $1363.30 and they charged me $1547.78. I called the hotel and I try to contact Booking.com. So frustrating for being overcharged by $200. Terrible service. No one wants to help RESOLVE the $200 overcharging. :(
They overcharged above Booking.com quoted rate.
Paying for parking
The hotel is in need of renovation — it feels very outdated. The rooms were clean, and it’s clear that the cleaning staff do a good job maintaining them. However, the condition of the rooms has aged significantly, and it’s difficult to keep them looking fresh. In particular, the carpets, sofas, and armchairs are very worn and clearly need to be replaced. Overall, while cleanliness is maintained, the hotel would greatly benefit from a full update.

Hidden $70 parking fee for one night
Rooms and clean
Paying for parking and them taking 30 dollars that was to be. For if damage we only slept there still took 30 out of my account will never stay again believe it is a rip off. There was no way to dry hands in lobby bathroom. My daughter got a yellow ticket and was there just long enough to get me to my room. I would never recommend this place because of all that and had a friend come get me and since we figured would be there about 2 hours cost friend 16 dollars to park have to be rich to stay I heard others complaining about paying to park. It's asham e since rooms are nice. But I'll be staying somewhere else. Guess back to where I was staying a little further from where I want to be but much cheaper when booked they forgot to tell about paid parking and that people had to pay just to help you to room. 731 819 2358
Location to Vanderbilt Hospital
Staff were scarce when needed
Room was clean and comfortable.
Commode was to low. Parking was way to expensive!

Having to pay for parking and the shower water didn’t get warm.
Excellent staff, breakfast was good. Room was cozy and clean
Great location- easy to drive to Bridgestone Arena - Friendly and accommodating staff
3rd party charging for parking - since no shuttle is provided to Arena - have to pay to park on property and then have to pay to park downtown - very expensive parking per day
I am shocked this is a Hampton Inn as it is not up to standards. Lights in bathroom did not work no door knob on door to the bathroom. Not clean - this Hotel needs to do major renovations ASAP!!!!!!
Very clean, beds were hard but everything else was good. Read my What I didn’t like.
Someone was smoking in the room next door. The smell could be smelled in the bedroom of of our suite and the bathroom. I have asthma and it was a miserable night. I told the staff and they said they could move me. We was late and we were already settled. Nothing was done and when I asked about a small credit and was told no.
Convenient location for my needs
Having to pay to park my car, no valet. The room was the farthest away from the elevator and I have difficulty walking distances.
Great staff and location
No notice when booking parking was $40 a day
Breakfast was good, and the location was awesome,
Our room had BUGS, had to pay extra for parking, request for mor towels and rags which was never provided. Was unable to use guest laundry room due to appliances not working. Maintenance or management wasn’t notified to fix the problem.
Before staying here please understand you’ll have to PAY to park here by a company Park Happy. I stayed there for two days and paid for my room but then I had to pay 85$ for parking for that 2 days! I am a 100% disabled veteran and can park downtown for free but not this lot EVEN renting a room! I contacted the parking lot company for refund with no vail, and well Hampton won’t entertain my concerns on it as well. I could understand if I was parking to have a good ol time but my brother was having heart surgery at Vanderbilt so I had no choice but to pay it! These companies are unpatriotic, rude and greedy..
Great location, about a 10 minute drive to downtown. The suite was especially large with a great view of Vanderbilt. Overall we were very pleased with our stay!!
Nothing negative to say
The breakfast was fine. We were up at Vanderbilt fir my husband to complete a week’s worth of tests to qualify for a double lung transplant. He is now having to use oxygen. When we were loading the car to leave there today, a young man named Edward helped us load our suitcases into our truck. He didn’t have to do this, but he was kind, thoughtful and very helpful. I appreciated this so much since my suitcase was very heavy. Edward deserves a promotion or a raise!! People nowadays don’t seem to ever want to help anyone, but Edward did. Thank you, Edward for your kindness and much appreciated help!! Jennifer Owen
Stay Away - Book Elsewhere! This is the worst Hampton Inn in the brand family system. The hotel is very run down, dirty, and smells. Furnishings, flooring, chairs, etc. are all badly worn out. Lobby is uncomfortably warm because not running the AC sufficiently or it is broken. The hotel is badly understaffed in all areas. Room was not ready at 3pm and only received a room at 430pm because I called Hilton corporate which intervened. Then the room they gave us smelled and was super warm 78 degrees despite thermostat set to 65 - obviously a broken AC for that room. We left immediately and switched to Homewood Suites across the street which is 1000 times better. And AMEX helped obtain a full refund from the Hampton Inn.
Absolutely disastrous hotel. 1st they said no early check-in because all the rooms were full, and they were blatantly lying about the rooms being full. After we check in our room is terrible! There’s mold on the bathroom walls, and you can see everything is very old. Staff was generally unhelpful. Finally while checking out, they said that we could not do late checkout because once again the rooms were full, we checked online and to no one’s surprise there were tons of rooms available, so in other words they were blatantly lying again. Not worth 300 bucks.
It was close to the medical center
Paying $35 per night parking, the heating in the room didn’t change temperatures, the heater had flashing lights all night long, had to ask for room to have garbage emptied and new towels. Had to ask for glasses as well.
Staff very friendly and helpful. They went the extra mile to help me with a couple of issues and I really appreciated it
The property was showing signs of wear and tear.
The location was close to our next stop.
Doors to parking lot in the morning we were leaving didn’t work and staff was rude about it.
$85 to park
