Reviewed Aug 8, 2026The establishment was close to to Tulbagh, but out on a farm which gave it a country feel. Lovely spacious room. The room was well equipped. Beautiful views from the farm. The personalised olive oil from the farm to buy was a nice touch to remember our stay. We only stayed one night but we will be back.

Just a suggestion. Please check with Kim about good restaurants in the area. Some look very smart but do not provide good food in the off season (winter).

No DSTV Internet poor Toilet did not drain properly. When reported was fixed asap. Shower drained slowly. Fire to heat jacuzzi outside would not take so we abandoned that. Inside fire was wonderful.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026We had 2 brilliant cosy winter nights at Duikersdrift with my 2 small kids. Farm was perfect for some short bike rides and walks to feed the adorable donkeys and to look at the cows - cute play area too. It was too cold for the lovely looking swimming pool and hot tub (it rained) but we hope to use them next time. Kim and Justin were super accommodating and communicative and friendly. The meal add-ons were lovely as well. Brilliantly located close to town but close to other wine farms. AC very helpful in the icy winter mornings. Highly reccommend.
Helpful/friendly suggestion: A few more items of crockery would be helpful for preparing food and eating - had to do lots of washing up!

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026We were back after 8 years to stay at Duikersdrift and loved seeing the growth of the trees and plants around the cottages. They are still as fabulous as ever with the indoor fireplace, aircon and new addition of the kitchenette. The beds are amazing, i almost couldn't get up in the morning because they are so comfortable! Lovely breakfast delivered to our room each morning, including fresh bread, quiche, yogurt and fruit, granola, cheese and ham, fresh juice and milk!! We loved setting up our table outside and enjoying the view while eating. The Kolkols were just the cherry on the top. Late night stargazing and conversations over wine are so much better when sitting in the hot tubs. Thank you to Kim and Justin for being so accommodating and kind before and during our stay. We cant wait to come back!!

The continental breakfast that was delivered to us the next morning was very nice and such a good idea to serve it in our room, which meant that we could enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains for a while longer.

Reviewed May 5, 2026We hadden heel slecht weer: elektriciteit was uitgevallen (storm). We zouden verblijven in cottage 1, werden verplaatst naar cottage 3 ( zelfde type), omdat er wateroverlast was. Door uitval van elektra konden we niet eten in het restaurant en hebben we geen gebruik kunnen maken van de hottub. Maar ze hebben er alles aangedaan om het ongemak te minimaliseren. David bracht extra hout voor de kachel, kaarsen en zaklampen. Het restaurant bakte pizza's voor ons in de steenoven. Heel veel dank daarvoor!!!! De kamer was schoon en sfeervol ingericht en het uitzicht was fantastisch. We hebben daar heel erg van genoten, ondanks het slechte weer. Het ontbijt was ook erg goed.
Het weer helaas, maar daar kunnen ze niks aan doen.

Kim war jederzeit, auch für Wünsche für den nächsten Morgen, per WhatsApp erreichbar. Nebenan gibt es ein Restaurant, so dass man den Abend auf dem Gelände ausklingen lassen kann. Auch schön ist der Pool im Garten-
Die Terrasse könnte sauberer sein. Bequemere Stühle wären fein.

Reviewed Apr 3, 2026The views, wow! The birds were incredible too so many different kinds. Was so chilled and quiet. The spot was chosen for the view and the braai and the pool. All of these were amazing so the stay itself was just lovely. Such great memories and such a comfortable stay. We didnt try the restaurant but it seem quite popular on the Friday eve and the park run happens every saturday from there too so nice get up and out activity around the farm too with some locals. The hot tub was also great with the night chill that moved in, we were in there for hours. Aircon worked well and they had a fan when we felt less 'cold' was needed. Nice and close to the wine farms we wanted to visit (actually all are very close) and oakhurst for the olive tasting. Town was not even 10mins away (although depends on how fast you drive on a dirt road :) All in all an wonderful experience. Would definitely go back.
The shower was super high...strangely so but the pressure and hot water was great so dislike only for the height. The outside braai area needed a light to see what you were braaing at night, we used the loadshedding light we found in a cupboard to sort that problem out. Ants were a little bit of a problem but then that said you are in the country side. All food needed to be put in the fridge to avoid the ant trail. They should try some blue death just behind the counters etc to curb it a bit.

Reviewed Feb 27, 2026Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön, sauber und alles ist sehr gepflegt. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war lecker.
Wir befinden uns in der Natur. Entsprechend viele Insekten. Wir hatten viele Ameisen und Mücken im Haus. Auch einige Spinnen. Sobald die Klimaanlage aus ist, wird es unerträglich warm im Haus, sodass die Klimaanlage eigentlich dauerhaft angeschaltet sein muss, wenn man sich im Haus aufhalten will. Bungalow 2 hat, im Gegensatz zu den anderen Bungalows, noch keinen großen Bewuchs auf dem Terrassendach, was dazu führt, dass es abartig heiß ist und man dort erst wieder sitzen kann, wenn die Sonne langsam untergeht. Dass das Restaurant nicht jeden Abend geöffnet ist, ist schade.

We struggled with communication via the app and our hosts. Would suggest that more emphasis is placed on ensuring guests know beforehand that the on-site restaurant is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays and that wine tastings are also only available over the weekend.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Tolle Cottages mit Blick in die Berge und eigenem Hot Tub. Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal hier und wieder begeistert. Außer uns schien niemand in der Anlage mit den vier Cottages zu sein, so dass wir auch den Gemeinschaftspool dieses Mal ganz für uns alleine hatten. Es war einfach wieder toll!
Wer Berührungsangst mit Insekten hat ist hier vielleicht nicht ganz richtig. Letztes Mal hatte ich eine kleine Spinne auf meinem BH in meiner Tasche sitzen und dieses Mal flitzte eine recht große Kamel-Spinne (ungefährlich) durch unser Zimmer. Außerdem hatten wir eine Ameisenstraße über eines der Betten, die wir nicht benötigten, da der Raum für vier Leute ausgestattet ist.

The cottages are perfect, beautiful views, and so comfortable. The view is amazing! Totally delivered on all expectations. (Getting your breakfast delivered was also lovely.)

Reviewed Nov 9, 2025Das Frühstück wurde zum Chalet geliefert und war sehr gut. Allerdings fanden wir die Zeit ab 8.30 zu spät, besonders am Abreisetag mit dem Check-Out um 10.00 Uhr. Das Chalet ist nach wie vor wunderschön.
Im Vergleich zu unserem ersten Aufenthalt hat sich einiges verändert: kein persönlicher Empfang, kein Frühstück im gemütlichen Frühstücksraum, nur noch italienische Küche, offensichtlich kein Shop mehr.

Reviewed Sep 28, 2025We had a lovely stay! The lodge was spotless, spacious, and had everything we needed. The hot tub was perfect, service excellent, and the pool just a short walk away. I also appreciated the body wash and lotion, and housekeeping kindly ironed my dresses. We went with a toddler and an adolescent, and both enjoyed it too.
There were some moths and mosquitoes at night and no hot shower on the last day, but those were minor. A couple more serving bowls, extra crockery, and some insect repellent outside would make it even better.

Great breakfast is serves in a little basket to your room every morning. Great restaurant on the property as well that is open Wednesdays to Sundays.
All was great nothing to complain about - If you have to nit pick the WiFi is a bit slow - But that is not why you breakaway from city life - The views the mountains and the wines are more than enough.

Very upsetting, for the money paid we could have eaten a proper breakfast at a restaurant. When I made the booking i was under the impression we would eat at the restaurant which was next to our cottage.
My positive criticism is: The water to the cottage is not filtered, there was a lot of sand in the bath and the drinking water. The areas around the cottages needs attention , it can be made nicer
