This place just felt like home. I booked for 5 days at first for a vibe check, then extended for another 11 days. I took the full advanted of the free salsa and bachata classes (every day except for Sundays) and also signed up for the private lessons with Valeria (I miss you so much!) and Nico - both excellent! There's a small dance studio with mirrors, speaker, talk etc - all you need to practice your dancing properly, which you can use whenever it's free. The room was great, with a fan, light and plugs for every bed. Cute common areas with lots of beautiful plants, tvs, sofas, armchairs, hammocks and what-nots. But most importantly, the volunteer team was what made my stay so awesome. Especially Felicia, Jinli and Juninho were all just incredibly kind, fun and lovely. Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
The hostel staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, especially Emma, who was always so helpful and warm. 💛 There were salsa and bachata classes every day, and the atmosphere was full of joy and energy. Such a happy and unforgettable experience!
Das Personal ist super nett und zuvorkommend
Comfy beds, breakfast was included and the staff were amazing, especially isla who checked us in. Free salsa classes were so fun. Thanks so much for a great stay - would highly recommend :)
Atmosphäre und Lage ist großartig!
Aardig personeel, open ruimte en relaxte sfeer. Elke dag werd er schoongemaakt.
-
Very good location, there are free dancing courses, very clean, the breakfast is included
It could be a bit noisy as the dorm door doesn’t keep the noise too much. A bit racist, but there were simply too many french speaking people…
The vibes are great, I made loads of friends
Quite often there was no toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms. The room was advertised as a 4 bed but it's a 6 bed
The atmosphere in the hostel is great! It’s a very social and friendly place, where group activities are promoted a lot and it’s easy to meet people and make friends. Location is also great, very safe neighborhood. I would really recommend to anyone going to Cali to stay here. I booked 4 night and ended up being there one week
The hostel already offers, tours, group classes and so on, but I would maybe try to have additional activities, such as proposing day trips/hikes for Pance/Cristo Rey/Tres cruces and maybe others. Just because like this it’s easier for the guests to join a group. Also in the hostel is mainly volunteers from other countries, nothing bad about it, but to keep in mind if you’d like to have Colombian hosts
The staff all were super nice and helpful. The hostal has a friendly vibe and easy to meet people from all over the world.
The firm was a little stuffy but livable
This was a wonderful hostel where I met some beautiful people. We hung out, ate together, watched movies, and went out dancing in the streets and on a party bus! A perfect ending to my time in Colombia. Also, free daily salsa classes
Chill and super friendly had the best time here and ended up extending my stay by 8 days
This place is great. I had dance lessons with Carlos and he was amazing! There are a lot of cooking items in the kitchen. There are quite a few hangout spots inside and outside and the hostel is quite social which is amazing for a solo traveller.
The personal is very friendly and there is a good vibe in the hostel
That for some services we need cash
Friendly, helpful and good to connect people. Nice area. Salsa Class is definitly a highlight.
Amazing stay!! I would absolutely suggest this hostel. For anybody on a budget: even though it’s a bit pricier than other hostels, this one offers a wonderful included breakfast and everyday salsa/bachata/dance classes! So I think it’s very good value for money. The staff is suuper friendly too. And the salsa instructors are the best<3 shoutout to Valentina!!
It’s a very friendly hostel, they run fun activities, the free dance classes are great, and the location is good.
The hostel could do with some TLC. The first and second bunk I was assigned had black dust all over the sheets and dirty sheets (I think it was dust dirt coming down from the ceiling). They did move me to another bunk (twice) and were the staff were really kind, and the third bunk I was in was spotless - but I think this is something they need to look into. It would also be great to have some pegs in the bathrooms, as there is no where to hang your things. The plates in the kitchen are all a bit worn and dirty, and could do with a refresh.
The property itself is very nearby a square that’s very lively in the evening! We took the salsa class in the hostel which was nicely organized and went to test our “skills” in the salsa bar recommended by the staff. I also recommend doing the street food tour that the hostel offers. All in all, great staff, great place! Would’ve loved to stay longer if it was in our schedule.
Nothing.
This hostel is among the nicest I have ever been to. It is clean, it has a good breakfast, it is cozy and feels like a home, great common spaces, adorable staff and amazing salsa teachers!
the dorm close to the terrace is really hot at night
The volunteers and staff were fantastic, very helpful and so friendly it felt like family. The most welcoming atmosphere I have ever felt in a hostel it was super easy to make friends. Good range of activities especially the free salsa classes which are very fun. Well equipped kitchen, nice social areas and plenty of space for luggage in the rooms. The hostel is very well cleaned and in great condition. Nice location, safe and peaceful with convenient amenities nearby and about a 20 minute walk from San Antonio and 30 minutes walk to the city centre and you can also quickly and easily get Uber’s everywhere.
The 4 bed female dorm can get quite hot. This didn’t bother me and I slept very well but I know it did prevent some people from sleeping. The other dorms have more fans and windows so are cooler.
Free dancing classes were fun, the area is quiet but a touristy square with bars/restaurants just a block away.
Our double room smelled of mold and the only window was giving into the common area- it was busy during the day but damn impossible at night, when everyone comes back from partying at different hours, always very loud and inconsiderate, well we never slept well. Asked to switch for the free room next door facing inner courtyard (double with the same shared bathroom), was denied. The room stayed free the whole time. 5nights out of 6 there was only icy water to shower. For two consecutive days we found several bugs (!!) in every bag of breakfast cereal that each of you receives in the morning and even though we pointed it out to the staff immediately, they didn’t do anything about it and served us the same stock all again the following day. Actually there was no real staff available, only volunteers all the time, who were very nice when you were wondering where to go to party but clueless and useless when you presented them with a problem. The place could use a manager.
Comfortable beds Nice common areas Dance classes Basic breakfast
Not enough bathrooms No reading lights Fringe was warm
A friend recommended Oasis and I couldn't be happier to have stayed there! It is located in a very quiet neighborhood, the hostel is spacious, clean, tidy and nice, plus the staff is super friendly. It has a billboard with varied activities that you can do every day, it is very easy to make friends there and to learn salsa, as they offer lessons. They have a spacious kitchen, plenty of areas to chill at and a terrace with a bar. Without a doubt my favorite place on this trip, I hope to be back soon!!
Amazing hostel, the staff is just amazing. Really great if you want to dance salsa and find other people to go out dancing Salsa at night. They suggest also a lot of activities.
Small beautiful hostel with excellent salsa classes. Highly recommend going there!
Amazing hostel, couldn't recommend this place enough! Great value for money. Amazing staff and loved the free dancing classes. 10/10
Oasis Hostel is great - social, but not a party hostel. Several common spaces to hang out in. I also enjoyed the salsa/bachata classes they offered. Staff was awesome and very helpful.
Nice stay with some very friendly people. Very good facilities
Only two male bathrooms, breakfast was OK and rooms get very hot with heaps of mosquitos understandable
Good hostel beds, dance classes were fun and the dance teachers brought the vibes.
Absolutely forbidden to have a conversation anywhere in the hostel after midnight (enforced by but not followed by volunteers). Kitchen also closed to get water at night. Every single day of our stay the hostel was full of tradesmen with no heads up or acknowledgement of the inconvenience from the hostel. Some days the bathrooms had no doors, sometimes rooms didn't have doors, bathrooms were then out of order for paint to dry, furniture was on the daily relocated.
The vibe there was really nice and staff was really friendly. The dancing classes were the reason I came and they were excellent.
Great place great vibes great people
Best hostel I've ever stayed in! Such nice people, staff and guest, very clean and well organised, cheap, exceptionally great salsa lessons. Everything was perfect - felt like home as soon as we arrived. Not a party hostel, but a sociable and relaxed vibe.
As always, very good Hostel
Nothing
The place is good, they organise activities every night. One of the receptionist/volunteer was great
The vibe of the hostel is not the best.
It is a very lovely place to stay. Everyone is very helpful and nice. There are a lot of activities that you can do :)
It would be nice if there are some hooks in the bathrooms so you can hang your towel and clothes.
The staff was super friendly and made sure everyone was included to go out in groups if you feel unsafe. The hostel had a lot of places to just hang out and have some alone time if needed .
The kitchen closes at night
The property was clean, and comfortable, I felt safe in the surrounding areas although I checked in after midnight, the staff were polite and accommodating.
It was a very well organised hostel. Good facilities and group activities.
It was slightly loud at night
The staff was very helpful and nice. And the free salsa lessons were so much fun! It's a great hostel all around
Nice to meet people, very social place with good common areas! Also organized activities like salsa classes. Room functional and clean
The private room with my own patio could not be more comfortable for some remote work and exploring the city. Entire place is very well run and operated, and very easy to stay there long term. Cleanliness is maintained throughout. Staff is very pleasant and kind (including not rushing with the payment the moment I arrive). The private room is above and beyond in its comfort, even an office chair was found, which made working even more comfortable. Overall the entire hostel is tastefully decorated. Location in my view is the best for staying in Cali. A little bakery 50 meters away was very nice, and a lot of restaurants/supermarkets accessible within 10-15 mins walk, in what feels a very safe area, day and night.
What surprised me is that the kitchen is literally closed until 8am, but staff were kind enough to let me get my fruit/coffee before that time. The crowd is on the younger side and a bit party-oriented. Generally not a big deal, having earplugs helped sleep through the late night party one of the nights.
staff, rooms
that they make you wear a wrist band
The quality of people you meet here will make your trip 10x better. The facilities are clean, I work online and had no problem taking video conferences, and there was always things to do with people you meet here.
There was no negatives.
Loved the dance classes! And the staff was nice too.
The social areas were great and I met some really great people that I continued to travel with. The volunteers and staff at the hostel were really helpful and took us all out for a great night and the salsa clubs are incredible - as are the salsa lessons at the hostel! The street food tour from the hostel is also 10/10!
Nothing - really great place I really recommend it!
salsa classes were fun and free
could be much cleaner, staff tried rushing us to leave before it was time to check out
You instantly feel at home! I was travelling alone and the atmosphere of the hostel is perfect to meet people ! All the staff was super nice, the kitchen was perfect to cook, the bathroom was big and convenient. Overall I had an amazing stay! The only thing I would say is that this hostel is made for people who want to go out, I think it would not be appropriate for someone looking for calm and going to bed early :)
The people are awesome and the atmosphere is great. Everyone is just really welcoming and you can tag along with all activities, but you can also have the privacy you like (we had a private room).
I hope they renovate the terrace. It's a beatiful space but it looks a little shabby now. Was not a problem though.
The room was nice as were the bathrooms. The hostel has some of the best social areas we have gone across in South America (not just Colombia) and we absolutely loved our stay meeting new people. The staff are fantastic and the hostel offers lots of activities and hostel events (eg 80% of our hostel went to La Topa after a free salsa lesson provided by the hostel)
Breakfast is free but you have to make it yourself, the fan in the room is loud!
Loved it all. Great social vibe but there are places to have your own space too. Great staff and volunteers who are friendly and make you feel welcome. Kitchen to make your own food. Free dance classes! Close to Parque del Perro where there are loads of nice restaurants and bars. The hostel is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood
Nothing!
Had a great stay at Oasis! Clean, and the staff were very friendly. Good kitchen and liked the breakfast. Professional dance teachers. Would definitely come back! 😊
Minor thing: Small dorm without any good place to place your luggage, so the room got a bit messy with everyone's stuff. Not a problem though
This hostel was definitely one of my favorites. The breakfast was really nice - wasn't based on the cheapest items in the supermarket - nice brown bread, eggs, good granola and spreads. Lots of nice communal areas to enjoy. Big shower with hot water. The staff really go out of their way to help you (literally).
The only thing was the ladder for the bed was really uncomfortable to get on and off the bed from, but that really isn't such a big issue.
Everything was really good , service food. N nice people
Its ok
