Restaurants were way too expensive. We were charged 268chinese dollars for a small evian bottle of mineral water in the Chinese restaurant... thats $56 australian dollars ...wont be going back

ON SYNDAY 19TH APRIL AFTER I HAD BREAKFAST AT YOUR RESTAURANT I FELT STOMACH PAIN AND HAD DIARRHEA. I STOPPED EATING AND FELT TERRIBLE FOR TWO DAYS BUT WANTED TO COME BACK TO GREECE BEFORE I WENT TO A DOCTOR. NOW BACK HOME, I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FOOD POISONING, AM ON TREATMENT WITH ANTIBIOTICS ETC. I CANNOT KNOW WHAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE POISONING BUT YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE HYGIENE OF THAT RESTAURANT.

Excellent Stay at the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing . Our recent stay at the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing affirmed our earlier stays in this same hotel as a very pleasant stay, excellent service and care for details and needs of guests. This made the difference. While the hotel is no longer as young as before, it makes up the difference by having an excellent staff, good operational management, cosy environment and away from the noisy bustle of downtown location . It's proximity to two very important sights -- The Summer Palace, and the Great Wall at Mutianyu makes the Shangri-la Hotel Beijing an excellent location.

I spent 6 nights at the Shangri-La. I have nothing but compliments for the the staff and the hotel. From the time I arrived, my experience was positive. Beautiful and spotless facility, efficient and helpful staff, excellent bar and a la carte menu options, beautiful guest room - it was a complete experience. I loved the garden. And the location was ideal for the sightseeing I did in Beijing. Everything was within about 30 minutes using the DiDi ride app. I treated myself to Peking Duck at the Shang Palace Cantonese restaurant onsite, and that was excellent. BTW, the breakfast buffet is excellent. I mistakenly didn't include it in my reservation, and I quickly upgraded when I realized there were no other appealing breakfast options locally.

The hotel itself was lovely if a bit dated! Staff were nice and helpful. Unfortunately the room smelt strongly of cigarettes even though it was meant to be non smoking! Internet was a problem as we couldn’t connect often and it is absolutely necessary in Beijing. Breakfast was great huge buffet choice.

Stay couple times at the hotel. Very warm welcome from the staff since arrival. Room was spacious and clean although a bit old furniture. Breakfast buffet spread was great a lot of choices and egg tart is not to be missed. Huge thanks to staff name Daisy Wong who helped me to secure the booking even the it was fully booked. And special thanks to all the staff at the concierge who helped me with my parcel. Will recommend others to stay at this hotel due to their great hospitality.

I had such a great stay at Shangri-La Beijing and honestly can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment I arrived, every staff member I met was kind, polite and genuinely attentive. They really made me feel welcome and taken care of throughout my stay. I stayed in the Circle Tower, which is the newer and more exclusive part of the hotel. My room was large, beautifully decorated and very peaceful, with access to the executive lounge. It was the perfect place to unwind, have a drink or enjoy some snacks during the day. A real highlight was dinner at Shang Palace, the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant. The set menu was amazing, and every dish tasted fresh and full of flavour. The service there was also excellent, just like everywhere else in the hotel. Overall, it was a lovely experience, combining comfort, great hospitality and a touch of elegance. I left with wonderful memories of Beijing and would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing is well balanced between affordability and luxury. Located at the core location of West 3rd Ring, there are many shops and restaurants that meet your requirements. The room is a bit small and outdated (particularly bathroom), but the service is unbeatable. I love their garden the most!

Alice Zhang is super friendly, helpful and caring. She arranged a playhouse for my kid and lovely panda biscuits in the room. And a birthday cake for our celebration ! It was such a wonderful hotel that we stayed in Beijing !

Mir wurde zunächst ein Raucherzimmer (angeblich ein Nichtraucherzimmer) gegeben; die Lösung des Problems erfolgte zwar, war aber enttäuschend. An der Concierge wurde so gut wie kein Englisch gesprochen. Es gab einstudierte Sätze, aber keine adäquate Antwort auf Fragen.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und oft war jemand in der Nähe der auch Englisch verstand. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr umfangreich und hat keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Trotzdem fehlt ein kleiner Pfiff, aber dies wäre nur das Sahnehäubchen.

Das Hotel ist in etwas in die Jahre gekommen und könne einen Generalsanierung vertragen. Es war alles in Ornung hat funktioniert, aber im Detail sind dann doch die jahre abzulesen.

Trop grand très impersonnel et tout très cher dans l’hôtel : lunch dîner par exemple Personnel parle peu ou pas anglais donc on ne nous a pas explique qu’il y avait des interrupteurs pour dire de ne pas faire la chambre et on n’a pas vu qu’il était allumé donc chambre pas faite pendant deux jours, donc pas de serviettes ; quand on a appelé on a été servi très rapidement mais bon

The location is pretty far from tourist attractions but easily accessible via didi rides. Staffs are helpful and polite. The breakfast venue is always packed with people but staff always tried their best to help. Food almost never change for the 7 days stay there so if there are more variety it will be nicer.

Few staff members speak reasonably well English. I think I was the only non- Chinese guest. Also, I do not like the carpet everywhere. There are tons of more modern hotels in Beijing. Airport pick up was great.

The rooms need renovation

This is an amazing property that works very hard to please their guests (as most Shangri La hotels do). I was here recently and Zoe from the hospitality staff was amazing. She learned it was my birthday and arranged a complimentary cake, inviting the friends I was traveling with, altogether a pleasant surprise

Lovely, lovely hotel. The rooms are large and spacious. We had two inter connecting rooms Ona high floor and we felt like we were in an apartment. The buffet breakfasts are brilliant. Plenty of choices and the food is great. Separately, a special mention to the Shang Palace. We had dinner there on our first night and the food was fantastic. The Lounge has live music- Wednesday to Saturday. The lady playing the piano on our first evening- 4 July was amazing. My wife and I sat with our drinks and listened to her hoping the music would not end. Service at the hotel is great. Special thanks to Faye at the check in who helped with the currency change. Freddy at the Shang Palace who was super helpful in getting my points added even after I lost the receipt and Marianne who was our server at the Shang Palace. There were several others too, I did not note the names. Thanks Shangri La Beijing. We hope to be back one day.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Shangri-La Haidian Beijing. From check-in to departure, every detail was handled with warmth and professionalism. A special highlight was the Executive Lounge — the staff there treated us like royalty. The service was attentive, the food and drinks were always replenished promptly, and the atmosphere was calm, elegant, and inviting. It made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued throughout our stay. Thank you to the entire Shangri-La Beijing team for delivering such an exceptional hospitality experience. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Beijing.

Location is No good. Far from shopping areas, far from life ; far from other restaurants coffee shops, stores, services. Needs Taxi back and forth for any need.

Breakfast or meal in restaurant is OK, but it would even better if there is more option for halal food. The staff is incredibly friendly attentive and care. English speaking staff is very helpful for us who didn't speak Chinese.

The property is easily accessible by Beijing Metro subway line. Close to food shops.

Unfortunately, our experience at Shangri-La Beijing did not meet expectations. While the hotel has a good reputation, several issues made our stay frustrating. The biggest problem was the air conditioning in the room. It was fixed at 24°C, making the room uncomfortably warm, and there was no way to adjust it, despite two visits from their engineers to 'fix' the problem. We requested a room change, but the new room had the same issue, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Service was another major letdown. While some staff were initially polite, we noticed a clear change in attitude when we spoke English—they became less interested and less willing to assist. It felt as though English-speaking guests were not given the same level of service, which was disappointing. Check-in was slow, and communication was difficult. The dining experience was also disappointing. We had booked the seafood and lobster dinner, but when I requested a salmon sashimi at the sushi station, the chef made an annoyed face, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. For a high-end hotel, we expected better service and a more welcoming attitude from the dining staff. The room, although spacious, felt outdated, and cleanliness was not up to the standard expected from a Shangri-La hotel. There are no tea and coffee in the room. Housekeeping was inconsistent, with amenities not always replenished. Additionally, despite the hotel's luxurious branding, certain areas felt in need of renovation. Overall, for the price and prestige of Shangri-La, we expected much better service, comfort, and hospitality. Sadly, we would not choose to stay here again.

Great stay at the Valley Wing. Staff very nice and helpful. General Liang is so thoughtful and kind. I was having my birthday and she even sent a cake to the room. The new airport sendoff service is a godsend. It includes a staff member at the airport carrying your luggage to the counter and helping you get the boarding pass. I’ll use that service next time I visit for airport pickup, too. The hotel is a little old. We all know that. But the staff and service at the Valley Wing sparkle.

The hotel's chinese garden is very nice and neat. This is a beautiful hotel, vast, grand and artistic. Room and bathroom are a bit old-fashioned but clean and no smell of smoke. Breakfast is excellent for an elderly person like us. So much choices and taste like home. The heated 1.2m swimming pool can be crowded during the day. The changing room and the jacuzzi are very good. The hotel is near a subway station which lead us to Daxing Intl airport without suffering the heavy unmoving traffics. This hotel is just 8.5km to the Summer Palace but it is closed every Monday.

First class customer service. All staffs speak some English. Communication is smooth and simple. If you're first timer to Beijing, this is the place to stay .

The services and room facility was great!

When we arrived at the hotel, Ms Zoe of the GRO dept was already waiting for us. She invited us to the club lounge while we were checking in our rooms. There we were greeted by Ms Queenie and Ms Lynn, the manager who took the initiative to invite us for breakfast. Throughout our stay, Ms Phyllis the assistant manager and the rest of the team, like Hugo, Cary, Alexander, Annais, Eve, Aili, Alex, Leon, Celia, Chloe, Yumi, Alice, Lily, Grace, Freda and Kenneth took such good care of us that my family commented that it was one of the best Shangri-Las we have stayed in and that is an extremely high compliment. I was also surprised to know many of them were just interns, because they were efficient and yet the heart to serve guests well was evident. The food in the lounge was also fantastic, Zhang Lei and Yang Shuai did a very good job. The concierge and door man Chris and his other colleague, I couldnt remember his name, big and tall standing at the entrance of 景閣 were also very helpful. It was also nice of Ryan to pop by and say hi. Thank you Shangri-La Beijing for making our stay a memorable one!
