Having to pay for car park as a hotel guest. There was WiFi in the room but entertainment was zero - just basic TV. The iron in the room was faulty. The sink in the bathroom was faulty- water took several minutes to train so the sink was left with residue and dirty after use . Hotel guests had to pay to use the swimming pool…we were put off by that

We have been visiting Coventry family and had many celebrations from here over 20 years. Always top for us.

I did have a little slip on the bathroom floor. Filled in an incident form. Senior staff member was very helpful and I did go to hospital to get myself checked.

A very large but slightly dated hotel. Massive reception and dining areas and an easy check in. A very calm hotel. The deluxe king room was very large and airy and clean, but quite old fashioned. We had a nice meal in the restaurant at night, but there were limited options as only the bar menu was available. The drinks were also limited, as they only had one choice of beer. The service was very good though and we did enjoy the food. Car parking was secure and easy but there was a ten pound fee even though I’m a Hilton Honours member. Probably would stay again.

They were short of staff, no porters to take our luggage up to the room, allocated us a room with no Ac and was trying to replace with a fan instead, I had to complain and was then upgraded, which was really inconvenient., we checked in at around 10.30 pm a d requested if we could check out at 12 pm instead of 11, they o ly Llowed this for one if the booking when we had 2 room booked. Poor customer service.

Very clean and comfortable, no issues with check-in or out, staff very polite, helpful and friendly. We spent a long time in the lounge area after returning from our evening out on most evenings during our stay, and the staff were very accommodating to our needs and very friendly. I would happily stay here again I would like to add that the review about the rat in the lobby was incorrect, it was a tiny field mouse than ran through the front door and got scared and confused, I was actually the person trying to catch it, to release it back outside where it obviously wanted to be, not being chased around and terrified by people 100 times it's size, until some disgusting guest stamped on it...not the hotels fault, and the hotel was immaculately clean

Only 2 small things spoilt it a little. Firstly a group of us brought in a takeaway one afternoon, which we were eating it in the lounge area together, half way through a member of staff approached us and said it wasn't permitted to eat food from outside in the public lounge area and that we would have to move, one of our group refused as we were clearly half way through eating, and didn't want the remaining food to get cold, that member of staff went away, and then returned saying that the duty manager said we would be able to finish our food, we said thank you and that we had no information about this policy before bringing the food in, and that we'd clear up any mess before vacating the lounge area, which we did. In my opinion, that situation would have been handled better if the person approaching us used a little common sense and informed us of the policy and kindly asked us if we could finish our food as quickly as possible, and please refrain from eating take away food in the lounge area in future as it's not usually permitted. It was obvious we were not going to uproot having gotten halfway through our food already, and we were totally unaware that this was a policy of the hotel. Secondly, on the last evening of our stay there were two members of staff on the night desk, one of which was a man mopping the entire reception floor area and the other a lady on the main desk, the man mopping got very disgruntled with us and commented about us walking over his mopped floor to get to the lift to our room and the lady behind the desk looked at us and pulled a face like she was disgusted that we'd walked over a tiny slither of the floor to get to the lift. I have worked in hospitality, and the only thing that would have been said, was please mind that you don't slip, as I've just mopped the floor, and then when the customers had left the area, simply re-mop the small area walked on. These are the only issues we had.

On the website, it said they had EV chargers which were not there when I arrived. The shower had very poor pressure and went from cold to hot very quickly without me changing the temperature. There was a loud noise throughout the night of some kind of generator near the door to my bedroom. Doors were slamming throughout the night and other guests were noisy. Wallpaper was peeling in my room and the bathroom had hairs in the bath and seems to be dirty.

Excellent room, and extremely comfortable bed. We travelled with a dog and the hotel was completely pet friendly. The Bar looked really nice although we didn't use it and the Gym and pool and other facilities in the Health Club were excellent. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Maybe the location however that is being very picky. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I can honestly say that the price point for this hotel is unique. It’s weekend rates are some of the best you can find anywhere, the restaurant is outstanding, really outstanding, and the spa is offered to guests without any additional charge. All this believe it or not for less than £60 a night at weekends. I have no criticism whatsoever of this hotel.

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry on June 20, 2026, and had a shocking experience. Upon waking, I found a LIVE maggot in my bed...a serious health and hygiene issue that is unacceptable. I didn’t want to write this review, but after receiving no response to my complaints and the poor handling at the front desk, I felt compelled to share my experience. When my husband reported this to the manager at checkout, we received an apology but no meaningful action. Despite showing evidence, the manager simply noted our room number and dismissed our concerns with a "sorry you feel that way." They have made no further contact since. This lack of genuine response is disappointing for a Hilton property. Hygiene should always be a priority in any hotel. Until I receive a satisfactory resolution or even response, I cannot recommend this hotel. The communication is almost as bad as the incident. *also it advertised pool which is very small and they gave us bath mats to dry ourselves with. Very odd.

The rooms had air conditioning

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, my experience with the service did not meet my expectations for a 4-star establishment. The main issue was with room service. After attempting to call room service for approximately 15 minutes with no answer, I walked to reception to place an order for food and drinks. To be fair, the duty manager was very helpful and personally walked me to the bar area to ask the staff to take my room service order. However, once the manager had left, the barman he had spoken to also left the bar area, despite having acknowledged the request. I then approached another member of staff behind the bar. She appeared stressed and somewhat frustrated while taking my order. I requested a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc but was informed that they only stocked one type and that it was not available behind the bar. I politely pointed out that the room service menu listed three different Sauvignon options and explained that I was happy to receive whichever one was available. Unfortunately, I was simply told that I couldn't have any because she was unable to leave the bar area. Overall, the staff throughout the hotel appeared to be under considerable pressure, and there seemed to be complaints from several other guests at the time. The duty manager was doing his best to assist, and I appreciate his efforts, but it felt as though the hotel was understaffed or struggling to cope with demand. In the end, I decided to abandon the room service order altogether and drove to Tesco to purchase my evening meal and wine. For a Saturday evening in a 4-star hotel, being unable to order food or drinks seemed quite unusual, particularly as there was only one customer waiting at the bar after me, so it did not appear to be exceptionally busy. Check-in was also very busy, so perhaps staffing resources were focused there. However, overall, the level of service did not meet the standard I would expect from a hotel of this rating.

We’re both seniors and would only eat cereal or toast Also I think the price for a small packet of biscuits available in reception was daylight robbery at £6:50. Do you think that everyone is a millionaire. I expect to pay slightly above supermarket prices but that’s ridiculous. I would think that they go out of date before selling any

The beds were very comfy and a good size. The food we had was very good too. We particularly liked the spaciousness of the dining and bar area and the reception area.

Signage back to reception could have been better. We were on the third floor and finding our way back down to reception using the stairs could have been clearer - a couple of more signs with an arrow would be great.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was so spacious and comfortable, the pool area was a lovely facility with really friendly, helpful staff and the hotel restaurant served good, fresh food. We'd be very happy to stay again.

It was not far from the motorway, was 2.8 miles from the Arena which we walked. The hotel was nicely decorated and the room was spacious, clean and aired, the bed was comfortable, loved the shower. We would stay again

Ill prepared. The busiest day with take that in town and not al all prepared. People still at the end of a long line queueing out the door to check in at 4.15. Doors opened 5pm at concert. I've been to basic hotels who are prepared and are checking people in down the queue on hand sets. Promoting hilton honor to check in digitally but it doesn't work. Only one hand and bath towel for 2 of us. Check in late so didn't notice till the morning. No plastic toothbrush beaker. Nearly twisted my neck trying to swill under a badly placed tap. Clearly rushed the room change over. Poor front of house staff, poor English speaking. Had to seek out cutlery for our meal. Also did the same to another couple so clearly not learnt after forgetting ours. Breakfast ok, orange juice is either watered down or very cheap, rubbery eggs, latte out machine is just like warm milk with barely any coffee. I disliked the hash browns but that may be just my personal taste. There's better places to stay I'm sure.

* I checked in late at around 10:00pm and booked a room on the understanding from my confirmation email and that room service was available 24 hours a day. I was informed upon checking in that the kitchen was closed and only cold sandwiches were available. The room service menu on the TV said hot food was available too... * The self-service shop is extortionate. * The bathroom smelled of damp (no extractor fan or window) * The duvet cover was as thin as a sheet of paper and the bed was also lumpy.

I had disabled access room which I booked by mistake but was not a problem.lovely bedroom and very large bed everything I needed.The bathroom by my standards was not good very dusty especially chrome fittings and floor and a smelly shower curtain overall the bathroom didn't seem very fresh which is very important. No shelves in bathroom to put anything on which is important for disabled room. I would definitely stay again but not in that room.Overall very nice hotel just a bit disappointed in bathroom.All the staff were most helpful and welcoming yours Shirley mitchell
