Novotel Coventry

All, great room, two lads on the bar were super friendly and professional, i use to manage a hotel restaurant in my younger yrs and reminded me of then, all staff were great.

Paying for parking. Next room talking could be heard loud and clear - poor soundproofing in room. Pillows not comfortable. Coffee at breakfast was terrible.

The bar and restaurant was nice and clean with plenty of space and TVs for the football. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

We ordered the queen beds which turned out to be to singles attached together. The joint in the middle turned out to be annoying as a lone sleeper.

Couldn't sleep all night as there was a lot of noise within the room.the fridge was very loud knocks and bangs from pipes and ac .as well as outside the room.

We had dinner in the hotel and it was average. The salad garnish with dinner looked and tasted liked it had been under a heater.

Overall the poor cleanliness let this hotel down. Grubby carpets, scuffed doors in communal areas and a couple of small issues in the room - although bedroom was generally clean. It all looked over-used and in need of renewal. Food and bar drinks were fresh but again furniture and stained carpets in poor condition.

The room was in a terrible condition blood stained curtains, stains across the sofa, armchair, there was holes in the mattress. The carpet was filthy with hair, crumbs and dirt. The room needed serious TLC

The place was spotless. The car park was very well lit. It was peaceful. Will definitely be back.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. There were a couple of suggestions that could have made my stay more comfortable. I struggled to see the TV as it was on the desk. With my husband on that side of the bed he blocked the view so it being on the wall would have been far better. We were on the ground floor facing the car park, which we loved. But we had to keep the curtains closed because it was quite busy also serving the Toby Carvery. A roller blind or a net curtain would have been really helpful. Other than that i couldn't add anything to it at all.

Enjoyed my stay here and would recommend. Was a bit further away than I wanted from the venue I was going. But in no way is that the hotels issue.

Nice comfy little if you want a drink when getting hime. Food available when you wanted. And staff wete very good.

The staff are rude the only member of staff that spoke to us was the person that checked us in. Someone was on reseption every time we came in or out of the hotel and never made eye contact or say hi bye or anything . Dont know how long you have let people bring dogs to stop at the hotel but we seen 2 and one was on the same floor as us and was barking (not good ) And someone was shouting at them to stop the dog barking ! Over all does not make for a good stay .

Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was very clean and the water from the shower was so pleasant and perfect temperature. We didn't hear any noise and the bed and pillows were so comfortable. Room temperature was cold when we arrived but after we switched off air con, it was nice. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. Parking space a bonus. We ordered deliveroo because we arrived late and the guy at reception was very attentive to bring us some napkins. Staff were very polite and always helpful when we asked something.

Shame coffee machine was not working during breakfast. We ordered Cappuccino at the bar which it was good but double espresso needs improvement ☺️. I don't need to ask for sugar and teaspoon. It should be served automatically with coffee. Unfortunately I'm Italian and for me coffee is very important but not the end of the world. overall it was a fantastic stay.

Staff (receptionist + night manager) were helpful when I made inquiries. I asked for a room near reception because on my last stay I was close to reception room 140 I think as I am disabled but I was put halfway down the corridor in 153. The standards have dropped. No fridge in room, safe broken + unusable, QR code did not work, no shower mat, no phone to call reception, no room service. Nothing about the hotel + what is on offer in the rooms. The hand soap, shampoo and shower gel were amazing. I would buy these if I stayed again and they were sold at the hotel.

We stayed at the Coventry branch last Sunday and were very disappointed. Our room on the 3rd floor smelled strongly of bad drains and became worse over the evening. We decided it was the shower drain so my partner put a towel over it and by morning the smell had gone (or we had become used to it!!). We did not dare to shower, but left quickly as the room was also shabby and depressing. We will not be bothering with any of these hotels again

I’ve gone to other novotels and it had better options on the TV. The other ones I’ve gone to had screen share, Netflix so was easier to keep the kids entertained in the room. This one didn’t. There was also limited plug points

Great hotel I have stayed here for the past 3 years. Staff are very friendly as well as the fact that the bathroom is so beautiful.

Location was good and overall the hotel was nice. Easy to get to and shops were close by.

The bathroom situation - the toilet was in a separate small room next to the bathroom, no sink in there just a toilet on its own. Had I known this I wouldn’t have booked here. The bathroom also had a strange smell which we reported but nothing was done.

Rooms, shower, bed, reception staff, iced water at reception (As it was 38 Degrees outside, nice touch.) Did not eat at the hotel so cant comment. Staff were friendly. Fridge in room was very handy due to the hot weather. Able to have room service if required. Gym on site. No Noise from traffic despite location.

Aircon unit in room turn off after 10 minutes. Had to keep turning on. Other than that nice stay. Paying extra for car parking.

The hotel was clean and bed really comfortable and it was a really good location for our trip.

We requested a walk in shower and got a bath and shower gel empty.

1. The British young lady catering to the breakfast counters was extremely courteous and enthusiastic to offer help whenever needed. She even went out of the way once to ask the chef what exactly what were the ingredients in a particular item of food (sadly forgot to ask her, her name). 2. The keys (card entry)were always functional - at some hotels, we have experienced the "entry card" needs to be recharged every now and then. 3. A very quiet and clean place to settle down - with or without family - extremely quiet - wonderful! Beautiful trees around, with a well kept garden - beautiful view of the neighbourhood outside the window. 4. The room service (cleaning) by Ms. Tatiana (from Romania) was exceptional. She is indeed meticulous and very good in her job. Everyday our towels were changed and new toilet rolls put.. the tea bags/coffee/milk were refilled daily. 5. Mr. Surya, at the bar counter was also very helpful. Even though I do not drink and do not frequent the bar counter except for soda or water. 6. The breakfast is very good. All counters are neat and very clean. The breakfast is very good - we are foodies and we enjoyed. Lunch/Dinner may not have a lot of choices but is not bad. I like the Club sandwich with french fries and salad!! 7. They have a gym facility too. 8. 50 or 55-inch flat tv with 62 channels - I counted. Comfortable bed, sofa seater, bed-side table, all lights working. 9. There was an ironing table with a big Murphy Richards Steam iron in our room, with a mini fridge, a kitchenette, a very clean toilet and a well-equipped bathroom. No clogging of the drain in the wash basin/ shower or any drain or toilet - wonderful and peaceful. 10. The check-in and check-out was very quick. 11. If we get an opportunity to go to Coventry again, Novotel Hotel will be our first choice, indeed (We came from Kuwait for a few days). We stayed for 5 days.

1. The tall Gentleman (from France as he introduced himself) who supervised the food counter during dinner times was a bit of an authoritarian - not feeling comfortable - but it is ok!! 2. Our calls from our room IP phone to the reception went unanswered by the reception and after a while, it used to go to an auto-email inbox which was already full!! There was an issue with the intercom system on the days of our stay and we were told that it was being updated - could be a temporary problem which would be fixed hopefully in our next visit.

Foul smell in the hall way and noticeable in the bathroom / toilet in the room. Breakfast didn’t agree with us and caused us food poisoning symptoms.

Property is located near the Motorway with good parking space for the guests. Good open space with 2 - 3 amenities for the kids to play with a digital screen with different games to play. Room was clean and the staffs very nice and friendly.

1. Not enough air-conditioning and when requested for additional fan or cooler, they didn't have it. 2. Water pressure was low in the toilet while flushing. 3. Breakfast seemed to be plain compared to the breakfast in Novotel Birmingham.

Staff very friendly, very accomodating. BREAKFAST was a great selection. Very easy to book.

Next door had a dog, he was barking , the family were out in the hall way chatting loudly till after midnight. In the morning the dog was barking , and someone was knocking their door constantly for 10 minutes, so I was woken up.

The room was small, the cot for the baby was awful - the mattress was very thin and could feel the poles through the base. Far too hard to be slept on so had to have baby in bed with us which wasn’t ideal. Air con in room wasn’t great so was warm at night. Slightly worn / dated property and walls. No charging spots for electric vehicles.

Its a bit run down in halls and rooms . Carpets are dirty walls are tired. The shower had loose fittings in the bath/shower was a bit dangerous and awkward. Picture set a higher standard than reality. Also saw a rat outside ran past the outdoor seating area

Basic, comfortable bed, and spacious room. Staff were pleasant and happy to help. Not too expensive either, good value for money. Breakfast was decent, nothing particularly fancy, but cheap and cheerful!

Really needs a good update on decor. A lot dated and covered in old stains. The bathroom had and odd smell too.
