While the staff were fantastic (4/5), the rest of the experience fell short of Kimpton standards: Room Quality (2/5): The room showed serious wear, with chipped tables, rusted mirrors, and stained sofas. First-night cleanliness was poor. There was dust on the furniture, dirty sinks, and hair on the chairs. Property Fees (3/5): Charging $10 for bottled water (even for Elite members) with refillable water stations only on two floors feels unnecessary. Additionally, asking $45 to bring a microwave up to reheat last night’s in-room dining, which already included a 20% service fee and $6 delivery charge, is far above standard 4-star Beverly Hills guest service practices. I usually prefer Kimpton’s modern vibe over InterContinentals, but this was unfortunately my worst stay with the Kimpton brand.
Renaldo at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! He gave us an upgrade and made sure that we had a great stay at the hotel. We really appreciate it!

First up - Felicia - the manager is incredible. She rescued us when we were starving after a 14 hour work day and fed us burgers and beers when the restaurant was closed. So thank you hugely. Made such a difference. The Palomar has a nice feel - great cocktails when the bar is open - nice pool and lovely lovely housekeeping staff . You have to time your eating needs to the restaurants precarious hours but there’s a great front desk shop selling crisps wine and tequila if not. One uncomfortable policy is that they take $ 150 from you a NIGHT on hold for accidentals. Even though there is no mini bar. So for a three night stay you’re down nearly 500 dollars. This is clearly a racket and needs calling out. I don’t want to under write the hotels debt restructuring issues with a major deposit. I just want fo stay the night and pay the bill.
Amazing service! I want to give a big shoutout to the host Serena. Excellent customer service, she made us feel welcomed and explained the menu with patience. The food came quick and it was delicious, my husband and I will definitely be returning. Thank you Serena!
Very good food and drinks, I got the wings and flatbread. The setting was lively and very welcoming. The service was also great, the host Serenah was very accommodating.
I came here for the first time with my friend last week for my birthday and overall it was a really nice experience. The space is beautiful and has a great vibe, definitely a chill spot to hang out. We weren't super hungry so we just got tacos and the cauliflower, and both were really good. Service was great and everything came out pretty quick. Thank you Rosa, Serena, and Miguel for making my birthday experience memorable.
Fantastic Clean Safe Hotel with Great Service! The restaurant/bar has amazing food and specials! And the bar staff is top notch. Thank you Nick, Miguel, Matthew, and Serena for making my stay a treat. Also a big thank you to the housekeeping staff (especially Katherine)!
Can't rave enough about the service, everyone from check in, housekeeping, waiters, bartenders, management... all of it was five star plus! I can't wait to come back. I took my mom here before she was flying back to Europe as I wanted us to have an amazing experience and memory to share. We went for dinner at Doubletake and had the best time. Our waiter Serena was truly a ray of sunshine and took such good care of us.
The Kimpton is a great place to stay. Very comfortable, friendly staff, and a warm atmosphere. I always feel like I’m coming home when I visit. The employees truly go above and beyond. In particular, Miguel, Nick, and Mathew make the restaurant a welcome place to spend the evening. Whether you are the only patron or in a crowded room you are never overlooked. Truly a great place to visit. Reminds me of Cheers.
The entire staff was very attentive, especially Miguel at the restaurant. He was very knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. Most of all, he made me and everyone feel very welcomed!
The Kimpton Palomar is a lovely hotel. I especially had a great time at the Double Take restaurant. The bartenders Nick, Matthew, and Miguel were incredible, very personable and professional. I had the Crying Tiger Steak, which was excellent as well. I will definitely be back!
Matthew, Miguel, and Serena were absolutely amazing! Best customer service I have ever experienced!
I had the best experience at the bar. Happy hour was amazing. Not to mention the bar staff was incredible. I’d like to shout out Matthew Miguel and Serena! All three amazing and hold a great conversation!
I had such a great time at this hotel bar. Watching sports and happy hour!!!! The bar staff were super helpful and made my experience top tier. Matthew Serena and Miguel were just the best!
It is well worth a stay. The grounds were well kept. The property was well maintained. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room service was excellent, Serena made great recommendations for food. The view from our room was fantastic. I would love to come back.
If you’re staying at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Beverly Hills, do yourself a favor and spend some time at the restaurant and bar. Nischal and Matthew are the kind of hospitality professionals who make you want to come back. They strike the perfect balance between being attentive and letting you enjoy your evening. By our second visit, they remembered our preferences, made thoughtful recommendations, and created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that felt more like visiting a favorite neighborhood spot than a hotel restaurant. Their genuine conversations, attention to detail, and passion for what they do elevated every meal and drink we had. Great food and cocktails are important, but it’s the people who create memorable experiences. Nischal and Matthew are the heart of the restaurant, and they turned what could have been a standard hotel dining experience into one of the highlights of our trip. We can’t wait to come back and see them again. 5 stars!
I’ve eaten at plenty of restaurants where the food was great, but a week later I couldn’t tell you much about the experience. Double Take was different. While the menu definitely impressed us, what has stayed with me most is how welcomed we felt from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere strikes a balance that’s surprisingly hard to find. It feels stylish without trying too hard, lively without being loud and comfortable enough that you don’t feel rushed to finish your meal and leave. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy good conversation, and lose track of time. The biggest reason our evening stood out was the incredible service from Matthew D. and Nischal. They have a natural way of making guests feel comfortable that can’t really be taught. They were attentive without hovering, offered thoughtful recommendations and seemed to genuinely care that everyone was having a great experience. Every interaction felt sincere rather than rehearsed, and that personal touch made all the difference. It’s easy to find a restaurant with good food. It’s much harder to find one where the hospitality is just as memorable as the meal. Matthew D. and Nischal created the kind of experience that makes you want to come back, not because you have to, but because you actually want to. We’ll definitely be returning, and next time we’ll probably plan to stay a little longer. Double Take has earned a spot on our list of places we’ll happily recommend to friends and family
Another Kimpton Winner! We have stayed at many Kimpton properties, including this one in the past, and we have had the great good fortune of positive experiences every time. The Kimpton Hotel Palomar on Wilshire Blvd is located very nearby UCLA. The parking attendants, bellhops, and front desk people are all courteous, professional, and available. The lobby area looks good and smells good, and they have flavored water available in large containers. The decor is sophisticated and also fun with the nod to Hollywood's movie industry. At night, our room was quiet and dark, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom door did not make noise, and the shower had very good temperature control and water pressure. The room was very clean, and towels were fresh and soft. Prices are on the high side. It's Los Angeles. The room had everything we could hope for in a hotel room, and we would absolutely stay here again.
Nice hotel, peaceful and clean room, good amenities (pool, gym, restaurant). Parking is $50 for self parking or $70 valet. I booked an all fees included package and still got charged a $37 resort amenities fee along with $25 worth of tourism taxes at checkout.
The view
Although it looked cleaned, the shower had a unpleasant musty smell.
Solid and attentive service throughput my stay. Grest neighborhood for walking. Quiet room on Skyview side of building. Uber helpful getting to snd from LAX and appointments near jorrl. Would stay again ...tho Suite needs a little refresh.
I have already filled this at once. Monika at the front desk was superb and professional, and helped me get my room for an early check-in. I went to the California restaurant in the lower floor and the staff of Carlos, Edgar, and Fernando were fabulous. Everything was great at the hotel!
😊I did not have any complaints. Everything was great.😊
I like the fact that they offered coffee and water in the lobby. Offered a 2 mile radius Uber.
I was disappointed that they did not have a hot tub. We had to ask for a coffee maker in a room and usually that’s just standard in other hotels We had to pay for a microwave $45 because my friend has allergies and needed to bring her own food. I was surprised that there weren’t more restaurants close by.
Excellent hotel. Very well located (straight shot to Santa Monica, short ride to Getty Center, about an hour from Disney). Very nice room, helpful staff, decent bar/restaurant (but walkable distance from a few restaurants), parking. The one and only thing I did not like was the low (and unadjustable) showerhead. I'm just 6' and I had to bow to wash my hair.
hotel itself was great and location.
My husband found my diamond hoop earring on the bed and set it on the bedside table right before we left. I called housekeeping and front desk immediately and, instead of going to room to get it, they asked me to fill out some random on-line form and never heard back. Called Front desk several times and they forwarded me to housekeeping and it never picked up. You guys owe me a $1000 earring.
location
hidden costs that we had no idea about which we're evidently in the fine print!!!
Miguel, Matt, Felicia made my time here so amazing. I love the staff
Expensive , no hot water in shower , no plugs by bed, no coffee facilities in room , the “complimentary” foyer coffee wasn’t available, check in staff said due to my status I had $15 credit , I was charged fully for the two waters I had … WIFI was slow … Ton of hidden charges Very disappointed !!!
Clean great location friendly staff
Expensive restaurant No kettle in room although can request it - good to have in room team and code with milk as a standard
Clean, reliant, professional staff. Delivered as expected.
Parking fee is too high. Price per night is not low, and LA is not a public transportation friendly city. Adding an expensive parking fee is a bad first impression after a long drive.
Location matters, and Kimpton Hotel Palomar Los Angeles/Beverly Hills delivers in a way that makes your entire stay easier and more enjoyable. It was perfect for being near UCLA and West Hollywood, which made getting around simple without sacrificing comfort. I absolutely loved this hotel, but what truly made it stand out was the staff and how they consistently went above and beyond for guests. That level of service is what separates a good stay from a memorable one. The rooms are sleek and well-designed, and I specifically requested a room with a tub, which made it easy to unwind after a long day. There is plenty of space, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The rooms are also equipped with mini fridges and very fast WiFi, which made a difference for both convenience and productivity. I also loved the gym. It is well set up, and the added touch of fun, photo-friendly details made it feel more engaging than a typical hotel gym. Overall, this is a standout property that combines location, comfort, and service at a high level. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and elevated experience in the area.
Good location
Ridiculous fees on top of booked rate
It was good - not as good as WeHo hotel but still OK. The food was actually quite good and service a bit over friendly but that's better than the alternative.
Parking situation needs to be made clearer - I valeted and could have easily parked self - not sure which was cheaper - an abiding mystery :)
Had a recent fantastic stay at this hotel! I had initially stayed here a few years ago and didn't have a great experience. I spoke with leadership and they immediately made it right then and there and for a future stay. This time around was PERFECT! Check-in was easy, breakfast was enjoyable, the room was spectacular with views and everything you could ask for, the fitness center packs a good punch for a hotel gym, and it's conveniently located. Highly recommended and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Room was nice and clean and big
Breakfast was expensive. Service was poor. Front desk staff struggles with perks and promotions that’s being offered and had to be reminded by me. Also mistakes on billing for breakfast that too 1/2 hour to resolved
Too expensive for value
Location, friendly staff and restaurant with a good vibe
1. Limited vegetarian options in the menu. Preferably having more gluten free and vegan choices will be much appreciated 2. Water pressure could be better in the showers
Stayed here for 2 nights through New Years and I enjoyed it. I made my reservation through Amex and was able to score a room upgrade to a suite. The location is great in a safe area and I'm really a fan of the self-parking option and the price isn't too bad. Definitely a much better place to stay than West Hollywood and it's now my preferred hotel on my visits to L.A. I used my dining credits to order room service and picked it up from the restaurant. Everything was tasty and fresh and the service was friendly. In fact all the staff I encountered were very helpful and friendly. Great Proximity to WeHo, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica not to mention Westwood. Looking forward to my next visit.
Chose this Kimpton hotel for convenience to Santa Monica and Downtown. Minutes to LAX. Fairly quiet especially rooms on backside away From Wilshire. Very convenient to UCLA. Hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and responsive via text and in person. Extra pillows, minor engineering call all handled promptly Rooms are spacious, yes we were upgraded to a junior suite and that’s appreciated for a 5-night stay. Thank you front desk for recognizing AMEX Platinum reservation and benefits. Really no serious negatives. Restaurant and bar is limited but friendly helpful staff make up For short menu. Self parking is reasonable and this visit plentiful low floor spaces. Would stay again again.
Everything! This will be our home away from home. The staff is excellent. food was great. Loved the fireplaces, the coffee and wine was such a nice touch. The atmosphere generates happiness. Customer service seems like a thing of the past but not here.
No complaints
Staff was amazing!
Lack of knowledge about fees.
This was our first stay at this hotel but definitely not our last. The room was very comfortable. We were even upgraded to a suite without asking. The bed was perfect and there were multiple outlets on both sides. The TV was very nice but packed the basic ability to stream any content. That was our only disappointment in the entire stay. There is free coffee in the lobby each morning rather than a coffee maker in each room. We texted the front desk and a Keurig coffee maker was promptly delivered. The restaurant was great for dinner. The salmon entree was perfectly cooked with a sweet glaze. The fish tacos were also delicious. No need to go anywhere else for dinner! The best thing about the hotel, however, are the employees! Everyone we encountered was very friendly, helpful, and appeared to value us as guests.
I paid the full reservation amount through booking, including taxes and amenities. I only booked for three nights. When I arrived at the hotel, they told me I needed to pay a temporary deposit of $400, which they said would be refunded after check-out. However, they only returned half of my money. When I called to ask why I didn't get my full refund, they told me I had to pay almost $200 more in taxes and amenities—costs I had already paid during booking—and they did this without informing me. Be careful with this hotel.
