This was my second visit and I still can’t say enough good things about this place. Westwood is no longer a place that has any reason to visit. However, its proximity to Beverly Hills and Century City make it a great choice. Service, security and accommodations are outstanding.
Location close to ICLA; and terrific staff — from Hina and Philippe at the front desk, to the maintenance gentleman who is right at your room, day and evening, in 2 minutes if you need a light bulb changed, or help operating an appliance or TV.
Stayed for nearly 3 weeks in June / July. Plaza La Reina is in an excellent location in Westwood, making it easy to explore the area while still feeling like a peaceful retreat after a busy day out in LA. Good security. Plenty of good restaurants, supermarkets, cafes and bars nearby. Perfect for UCLA and Ronald Reagan Medical Centre. You must visit the wonderful Hamer Museum of Art across the road and the cool restaurant there. Our suite was huge (honestly, it was bigger than many apartments), scrupulously clean and very well equipped with an excellent washer and dryer, a good kitchenette (but no toaster) and plenty of storage — all particularly useful for a longer 3 week stay. Good ducted A/C (took a few days to figure out its idiosyncrasies, but all good eventually). In fact, the suite was better than we expected and much larger than the pictures on line suggest. There’s multi-level parking below the hotel but we didn’t use it so can’t comment on functionality. The rooftop garden terrace is fabulous, with huge olive and cumquat trees and plenty of comfy seating. We took wine and take-away dinners up there and enjoyed the sunset views. There’s also a large ground level courtyard with a gorgeous collection of potted plants. There is a real sense of character throughout the property, with the Spanish Mission style carried through very consistently. Not to everyone’s taste, but we found it all charming. The "gym" is just a treadmill on the roof, and there isn't a pool. You can visit a gym nearby and a couple of places for Reformer Pilates, so it wasn't a big deal for us. Staff members Hina, Eyrie and Vivienne (apologies for missing out one other lovely lady whose name has escaped me) were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, always happy to assist and genuinely interested in making sure everything was right. Philippe, the owner, has created a property where that personal level of service is clearly part of the philosophy. We had an issue with sink drainage in the bathroom. Mentioned it to Reception and it was fixed within hours. The only minor downside was that our particular suite was a little dark, although that was due to our novice choice of room. The bed wasn’t a king size, so I would book another category next time. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. You can’t beat the location and would happily return but book a different suite with a more open outlook. We've previously stayed at The W nearby , but Plaza La Reina will be our new go-to for future visits. Recommended.
Location and quietness. Love the hardwood floors and the bathroom tile.
The pillows were too soft. There was an old smell to the room not sure if it was because of the furniture.
Plaza La Reina is a gem! I lived in Los Angeles for years and my friends and I had not heard of it. I was very happy to find it on TripAdvisor. It’s perfectly located in Westwood. I was in LA to visit clients in Brentwood and DTLA. My daughter joined me to visit friends. She was able to walk or take a short Uber ride to meet up with them. Walking into the lobby reminded me of entering a boutique hotel in Rome. The rooms are perfectly appointed with high quality construction, full kitchen complete with dishwasher, nice sitting area and bathroom. Very comfy King bed. Our only issue was parking at check in as the meters and loading only spaces were occupied. The hotel’s garage is convenient although the spaces are small. It was warm during our stay and the AC was a bit complicated to figure out. I usually stay with friends when in LA but definitely will stay here again!
Good location
Too dark in the room and not so clean The furniture and decorations are too old to upgrade. The door of bathroom is too noisy when open it.
This property is amazing! It’s quiet, it feels like a sanctuary in the middle of the UCLA area, it’s safe. The staff is great, responsive. It has all the amenities for a peaceful stay
Na acomodação gostei de tudo

Excellent staff / first class concierge services especially by Hina and Phillipe
Hidden gem and great location n Westwood. Very walkable to restaurants, campus and very quiet
Please please please get new tvs which allow for better streaming and integration with smart phone capabilities.
The room is spacious and comfortable. The cleaning staff replenish supplements very quick. It is very nice to have washer and cleaner for long stay.
hope the foldable bed in the living room can be sturdier as my back hurt a little bit. Putting some cooking oil in the kitchen will also be great. Other than these minor things, I'm absolutely satisfied with the experience.
I like the location, its proximity to the UCLA campus, and the building's and guest rooms' charming architecture. This was my third stay; the staff told me about the rooftop terrace, which I wasn't aware of. It's a fantastic outdoor space to relax with a drink.
Likely due to the old architecture, there are not enough electrical outlets in the room to charge your devices. There is no charging station next to the bed, so I had to charge my phone on the kitchen counter. Not a dealbreaker, but I wish this issue could be addressed for modern travelers.
Small boutique hotel. Room with kitchenette. Comfy bed. Good location, close to UCLA. Appreciated the 10% off at Toranj across the street - good Persian food
No breakfast but understandable given size
Quiet, elegant, secure; excellent concierge
Location is good, and bedroom design very good, easy for parking
We booked 2 nights, but no house keeping during our stay period, and no breakfast in this hotel, no free parking
Spacious rooms which are well appointed. Great location, quiet but close to Westwood center and UCLA.
Mixed experience with staff. Continuous leak from the bathroom basin which was reported twice and not attended to. We had to order additional towels to mop the floor and create a walkway. Eventually we used kitchenware to catch the water and then had to continually drain it. Although paying for parking is not novel for hotels, paying for dedicated parking in the building when the charge for the room is already exorbitantly high, is excessive. Amenities fall short of expectation.
Rooms were spacious, quiet and with convenient refrigerator, sink, cutlery, glasses etc. We hosted a few family members after graduation for champagne prior to going to dinner. The room was comfortable for 10 people for a couple of hours. Perfect! The garage is spacious and super convenient for drivers. Westwood Village location perfect for UCLA family visitors. We love the Inn @ UCLA and the Luskin Center on campus, but for my wife and I, this hotel is by far the best off campus hotel and pretty much the equivalent of being on campus.
Great Westwood location, spacious suites, excellent washer and dryer in suites, plenty of storage, fabulous roof top garden terrace, super friendly and helpful staff.
Suites are a bit dark, but the theme is fully committed to Spanish mission style so be prepared. Beds too small for us , but I think that’s our fault for the room type we booked ?!

Great Location in Westwood village . Walkable to restaurants , coffee shops and groceries . Helpful staff and large rooms
The location was beautifully close to UCLA
Needed some refresh and updates- for the price we had a torn comforter, damaged tv and inconsistent linen (nice and soft or thin and scratchy: no in between). The rooftop terrace was nice, but once the sun set creatures were active.
Loved the homely feel. The location was fabulous
No breakfast option
It was much bigger than the picture suggested. Well decorated, well equipped (beside the lack of espresso machine).
The cleaning lady did not clean in depth.
Clean rooms and awesome location.
I spent 3 nights here at the hotel for a business conference in early May. This is by far the most pleasant experience I had ever had. Hina was fantastic, pleasant and willing to help. The environment and location were perfect. It is not located at the busiest street thus you can get plenty of good night sleep, yet it is within 2 or 3 blocks from many eateries since it is so close to UCLA. The room is very roomy, with plenty of room to stretch out. I would definitely recommend it.
Location and uniqueness
Not having breakfast or snack area but many food locations nearby
Everything was perfect Location you can walk to restaurants. Me and my family had an amazing time. We will definitely come back and stay at this place again.
Everything was very nice.
Just no activities, gym, or snacks. It was more like a service apartment than a hotel.
Parking was great. Rooms are large.
The location was great, especially if you're visiting UCLA or spending time around the area. The room was clean and you could really feel the attention to detail in the design. What stood out most was that the room felt unique and had its own character and personality. It felt almost like staying in a place with its own soul, rather than in a typical large hotel chain where rooms often feel the same no matter where you are in the world.
One area that could be improved is the fitness space. The rooftop itself has an incredible view and has the potential to be a really special amenity. There are a few pieces of equipment there, such as treadmills and dumbbells, but they felt quite outdated and weren't very practical to use. A small, well equipped gym, especially if kept on the rooftop, would make the experience even better and would fit very well with the hotel's unique atmosphere.
I have stayed at Plaza la Reina on numerous occasions during visits to UCLA, and I am never disappointed in the quality of the stay. Given the cost of lodging in Westwood in general (unless you need a pool) -- you are getting extremely gracious accommodations for the price, with none of those added resort fees. You have a kitchenette if you must, but there are so many great restaurants in walking distance. Note: You can either pay to park in their garage, or there is metered street parking.
Quiet, comfortable and a nice rooftop patio.
I always enjoy staying at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and feel much more like a home than a typical business hotel. The location is nice and I can walk to the cafes, restaurants and UCLA campus in Westwood. The staff are friendly and helpful and I especially want to recognize Hina, who goes above and beyond to make sure everything is taken care of. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfortable stay.
Location
Bathroom was super small . Shower and toilet were broken. Left 1 small tube of body wash.. never added on day2… I didn’t have time to call them. Never mentioned that the only way room was accessible was via stairs
the hotel is great, like the room and service here, especially Hina, very dedicated in her work.
We had a very pleasant and extended stay at Plaza La Reina in Los Angeles, where we spent 18 nights while looking after our two sisters-in-law who were hospitalized as a result of a horrific car accident. The location was ideal for our needs—quiet, safe, and yet extremely convenient. Within a short walking distance, we found essential facilities like Trader Joe’s, Target, and a variety of restaurants, which made daily errands and meals effortless. One of the main reasons for our visit was to see our two sisters-in-law, and the hotel’s proximity to Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital and the California Rehabilitation Institute was incredibly helpful. Being so close allowed us to visit them daily without long commutes, which made a meaningful difference during our stay. The service was another highlight. Receptionists Hina, Helen, and Nadia were consistently professional, attentive, and warm-hearted, always ready to assist with any request. Their kindness truly made us feel welcome. In addition, the janitorial staff did an excellent job keeping our room clean, tidy, and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel is also conveniently located about 45 minutes from LAX, making travel easy. Overall, Plaza La Reina offers a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and thoughtful service—we would gladly stay here again.
Situated only a couple of bus stops (and walking distance) from UCLA, this was a very convenient location for my son’s college visit. The signature one BR suite was spacious (65sqm), and we appreciated a free extra bed for our growing son. It was a bonus to have a laundry machine and a dryer at the end of our two week trip across the states. The staff were always available and helpful. This 10 year old building is made to look like it was from the old Spanish era. While we can definitely enjoy that feel, it doesn’t come with all the inconveniences that would normally come with those historical buildings.
With a bathtub, this would have been a 11 start stay.
Loved the bed, the living room, the bathroom, and appreciated the laundry and washing appliances. The staff coming by each morning were very patient and helpful.
Not many frills. Did not have any non-caffeinated beverage options besides water. Not a big deal, but there was no gym or meaningful public area.
Beautifully appointed. Loved the room. Very old world Spanish.
there were very few outlets and no modern plugs with places to use charger cords without an adapter. For a fairly new hotel this seemed like poor planning.
Parking below. Wonderful concierge. Very nice large room with good bathroom amenities
Room was excellent; concierge staff — particularly Helen— were first class; kitchen in room and close-by take-out restaurants was great.
Cozy and big room. Really nice patio. Very helpful staff. It is really hard to find 9/10 hotel in LA. This one deserves for this rating.
Location/neighbourhood is not interesting. Quite close to Beverly Hills by car. Really cold floor in the bathroom and shower. It is impossible to stand bare foot. I had problem with hot water by it was fixed immediately.
Plaza la Reina never disappoints. The rooms are spacious and livable, with excellent sized bathrooms. Having a kitchenette and laundry facilities are a huge bonus. Most importantly, the staff is top notch. Hina at the front desk does an amazing job keeping clients happy and helping with any small details. Ruben, the resident Handyman, is always smiling and can be counted on to handle even minor issues. Highly recommended this property. You will not be disappointed.
Nice place and location. Big rooms with a nice charm and amenitites. THe location to food and stores was great and walking the area was a bonus.
The parking is nto great and expensive. THe exercise facility is a joke. Two machines, one not working and rusty weights all outside under a cabana. The ortuside part is fine, but not if it destroys the equipment!
It was very cozy hotel, equipped with kitchen, coffee machine, tableware, and shower with hose. You find Trader Joe’s and Target within walking distance. All staff were free and supportive. Uber comes within a few minutes.
Deluxe suite which I stayed didn’t have laundry machine. However, if you want to use laundry machine, the staff would manage to let you use vacant room’s laundry machine upon availability.
Big rooms.
Friendly staff immaculately, clean room very comfortable bed
Everything was great
The location of the property is perfect close to Trader joe and lots of restaurants, it is also so cozy and feels like your own apartment, having laundry and dryer in unit is the best key point.
Event though the rooms are clean but Unfortunately the furnitures are old and teared, it is time to change them at least the Sofas!!! Also if they place a small toaster in units it will make their kitchen complete. Btw the roof top needs some restoration and upgrades. It is beautiful though.
Friendly Front Desk Concierge Helen and Hina at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. They even assist with receiving packages, making your stay more convenient. Clean The cleaning team is very diligent, keeping both the room and common areas neat and tidy. Fantastic Location! Just a 6–8 minute walk to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Ranch 99. Only a 10-minute drive to Century City, LA’s biggest mall. Great for Long-Term Stays The place has a full kitchen and a washing machine, making it super convenient and comfortable for extended stays.
The furniture is a bit outdated, and the mattress isn’t as comfortable as my last stay.
The location, size and aesthetics were my favorites
The bed was too soft
The configuration of the bedroom was excellent as it was partitioned between living room and bathroom, so will not be disturbed by sunlight. Also the linen bedding was so soft that I didn't want to leave. The hotel is very quiet as if no one is living in it but all the rooms are full.
The parking lot was very empty. wish I knew about the overnight parking on campus and near Target.
It’s a studio with a kitchen and laundry. Beautiful and clean with a nice view and plenty cafes around.
A bit pricey.
It was like an apartment. Small balcony. It was very quiet and relaxing. Eventhough it is older place, it has been kept up great and was very enjoyable.
Nothing.
Large living space and quiet atmosphere.
last time we stayed in the signature queen suite. There was no sound whatsoever. This time we stayed in the standard suite, also very quiet but there was some movement upstairs. It faces the street, but very quiet. Very good quality construction.
Beautiful and very clean. Own private balcony, staff very nice , right across the street from Dennys. Close to UCLA. I would recommend this hotel very highly.
Nothing
We have stayed here for several years. We like the location, and the room size. Unfortunately, the hotel has started to slip.
Towels are now thinner, “leather sofa” has started to peel. Closet light did not work, when we arrived safe deposit box was locked ( needed engineer), wake-up call was 20 min. late the first morning. Treadmill upstairs needs to be replaced with a new model. We understand Troy, one of the longtime receptionists was taking a long sabbatical, but would return. This is unfortunate as Troy added a degree of professionalism and graciousness to Plaza La Reina, which in now missing.
Great location. Absolutely beautiful room, spacious and with a washer/dryer and kitchen.
No food service onsite.
