AVOID. Absolutely dreadful reception staff. Just didn't want to be there, or for you to bother them by checking in. Very miserable and surly bunch. (29th Aug 5pm - 7pm approx) They messed up check in (wrong room type). 1st trip back to reception. Pointed out error casually. No apologies and quite aggressive over what was their error. New room and then the nonsense of entering my name and room number wouldn't let me log onto WiFi. They will not answer repeated room phone calls to reception. Back to reception I went - again. Politely asked for guest code as my name\number wasn't working. Very bluntly told me to sign up to the hotels 'club' to get a free code. Told them I didn't want to join, I wanted the free WiFi promised and nothing to do with a spam mailing list, asked could I kindly have the code required. Man blunty told me I was told what I could do or I could do without WiFi. That was enough for me. Said I would just leave, take a full refund, and check into proper hotel - walked away for you can expect nothing but grunts from pigs. Walked across street to Hampton Inn, used free, easy to connect WiFi to write this review from my far superior room and joined not one mailing list. I would sleep rough - as most of Dever's population seems to - rather than stay here. They then refused my refund - so more lies. The general manager 'Jason' sent an appology email via Google reviews but no refund was mentioned. Really, why would you stay in a place that would treat ypu like cattle?

The hotel is in the centre of the city, everything is clean and we had the room with a nice view.

The convenience of everything being walking distance.

We booked it in the summer time for the roof pool and it was under construction. There were hotels right next door for cheaper price and open pools. We could have been accommodated something for the inconvenience.

We were so close to where we needed to be we walked everywhere. It was so nice to not need to worry about a car rental and it was in a safe area

You have the bare minumum for a hotel of this price range: tidy and clean room, clean bathroom with amenities provided. The rooftop swimming pool is particularly beautiful. The location is also excellent (downtown is 5 minutes by foot).

Expensive middle-range hotel in Denver, but I can't explain why, since: 1) the breakfast is not included; 2) the parking fee is not included; 3) the staff is rude; 4) the gym is ridiculously poorly equipped. The diversity hires at the front desk could use a little less bluntness and a little more smiles, while the hotel in general could provide a free parking lot underground instead of making people pay 50 additional dollars every night randomly like thieves. If you don't want to pay the hotel, prepare to spend the night looking for a parking space nearby.

Right in the heart of downtown! You could walk to 16th street to enjoy everything that has to offer. Coors Field just a short drive away.

The free WiFi is extremely poor, forcing you into a paid WiFi to do anything. The TV’s don’t have capability to browse streaming sites. Instead they offer $30 movie rentals.

We hadden graag de mogelijkheid gehad om eten op te warmen opd e kamer in de vorm van een broodrooster of een magnetron.

They give complementary water per stay, not per day, according to the staff. That means 2 bottles for a 6-day stay. If you care about this, please consider booking other hotels for better overall experience. Other than that, it was fine.

The pool area is much smaller than how it looks in the pics and there are only about 6 pool lounge chairs total for the whole pool.

$55 valet for a ghost town downtown ? You don’t even pay that on the water in Newport Beach. The Restaurant food is awful. Pool is shaded a lot of the day in August. The hotel it self is totally fine. Comfortable, and location is good and walkable.

The location was very convenient. We only used public transportation to get to our destinations. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The breakfast is very expensive. The booking shows $21, but I was charged $25 per person, and for two people, including taxes, it came to almost $55.

There is a property next to it that has huge external fans wurring 24/7 that are quite noisy so even though we were on the 20th floor we had a constant noise to contend with

Quite pricey for only 1 night. And i had to cut a day off my trip cause I wasn’t going to be allowed to check in when I got in at 2 am.

Excelente ubicación, los cuartos muy limpios, cama cómoda y el personal muy amable, es una gran opción si se quiere estar cerca del Centro y el museo de arte. Todo lo hicimos caminando, así que volveré si tengo que regresar a Denver, sin dudarlo.

Well let’s see. All you can eat breakfast was a $100 for four of us with only cereal, yogurt, eggs available. No options for dairy or gluten free. The bathroom was old and disgusting, unclean and the door wouldn’t even shut. So privacy for us four was not a thing. It was incredibly loud and could hear everything g in the rooms next door. I was told parking was included and then charged $55 a day after I was told on day two of our stay that I had to use valet. Staff could not give any recommendations on restaurants in the area. Pool area was just disgusting and unkept. Dirty towels everywhere I asked for extra towels as we had 4 people staying in the room but only 3 towels, called down to the front desk and it took them well over 24 hours to bring up extra towels.

Location was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. I loved having a coffee maker in the room allowing me to use k-cups.

There was no storage or drawers for clothes. There were big clunky side tables taking up more space with no other function. You couldn't store anything in the side tables or put anything under them because they were solid. I had to live out of my suitcase for six days because of the lack of functionality of the room. Be prepared to wait a few to several minutes for the elevators even though there are three of them.

The room was a nice size and comfortable, the A/C worked great, the TV was fine. The location is very good.

I asked the hostess at the restaurant a question and she snapped at me. Ok, I made sure not to got ot he restaurant. The cleaning staff did an ok job, though left dirty glasses every morning.

Except for 2 things it is a 4. Hard to get to. Hotel sign it not very visible if in traffic, I saw it in my side mirror as I turned past it. Silver sign on silverish background. Secured parking way overpriced. There is a lot, low security, for 1/3 the price down the street. Personally I found the bed way to hard and the pillows barely filled. No hot tub Mini fridge froze water and pop solid Bar opens at 10am. Nice rooms. OK AC, but blows on the bed. Great staff, good outdoor pool. While good, the only reason to stay there, or downtown, is the restaurants on 16th st mall

The pool and the room

Most of the staff we talked to was very rude. We got the package that said breakfast included and when actually getting breakfast we were still in our pajamas as one does at 7am on vacation and we got told “ I don’t know where you came from” and the same lady rolled her eyes at us when we asked about it so we just went somewhere else for breakfast. We asked for extra blankets and pillows as well and never received them. And when checking in as well the staff did not seem to be having a good day. We were trying to be really nice and understanding the whole time but I feel because of our age they did not want to accommodate us on the same level as everyone else.

No me agradó que 2 días no resurtieron las botellas de agua que están incluidas en el costo, tuvimos que ir recepción para solicitarlas, además un día no hicieron el aseo de la habitación y es incómodo llegar a descansar y encontrarse con una habitación a la que no se le solicitó la limpieza.

The entire facility was lovely, and the valet parking was super convenient (and not outrageously expensive either).

The location is the best! So close to shopping and restaurants and museums. We loved the valet parking! The valet parking staff were so professional and friendly. We didn’t worry about the car at all. We also loved that the car was safe and no stress finding parking when we decided to walk and hop on the bus.

No complaints about the property! Clean and stylish.

The roof top pool and bar a d restaurant are awesome. Being so close the 16th street mall is even better.

I wish the room was clean and kept up more. Very dusty and the bathroom had hair everywhere including in the tub.

Kade and Ortiz / Cortez were attempting to ponder money from me and harassed me followed me out of the building made me feel unsafe and when I asked for a superior Cortez told me they didn’t work in the building just Kade and then Kade came around the desk and was very rude telling me I am not a guest and that she doesn’t have to give me her supervisor information. This was in July 1st around 8pm I was exhausted from a funeral and was met with rude unprofessionalism I reached out to booking.con and still have yet to get a response. I would greatly appreciated a follow up and for this matter to be taken 100% serious. As I did not get a refund or stay at your hotel due to the actions of your staff. Kade also followed me to my car. It’s should all be on your security footage .

The whole experience

We had a great stay at Sonesta Denver Downtown. The staff was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was varied every morning, and the team made the experience even better with their kindness. What impressed me the most was their excellent customer service after our stay. We had an issue with the deposit refund, and despite the time difference, they replied to every email within about 24 hours and helped resolve the situation. This level of support is rare, and I really appreciate it. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

We called to see what time the pool was open on our way be cause that is what we booked for, the nice pool. They informed us it was closed for remodel. No notice of that the month prior in an email at all. We plan where we stay based on pools for the kids. They love that. So we didn't go and found another hotel that was way more expensive for the pool. Lack of communication of what was going on at the property.
