I didn’t like the bathroom. It was cramped and no hooks anywhere.
The shower needs another grab bar in the long wqll! There is nothing at all to grab on if you slip. Also the toilet feels like sitting on the ground. It needs to be chair height.
We enjoyed every single moment. I wish we were still there
Not one thing. Everything was perfect
How close it was to the beach. Rooms were large and comfortable and clean.
Just while we were there the ocean currents were not the best for swimming and very windy. Which are not the resorts fault.
Booking.com charged us premium price for poolside view. Significantly over what Sonesta resort charges.
Everything was clean from the parking lot to the room, and the pool area, all of the dining areas. The staff were very nice and respectful. It is kid friendly. Walking distance to the beach. Good breakfast and dinner buffet. I most definitely plan on going back for another vacation.
I would say let the pool stay open longer, at least until 11:00 when it’s quiet time. But other than that there isn’t nothing not to like. Everything was good.
The pools are wonderful, We enjoyed the relaxation pool as well. The beach access was great too and made for easy days of both beach and pool. The rooms were very nice and always kept cleaned.
We would have liked for more spa day availabilities and more variety in breakfast buffet options.
Staff kind
Rooms loud, dirty balcony, horrible chairs balcony, food expensive for mediocre quality
The location is fantastic, just off the beach. We hired chairs and an umbrella from the hotel every day for $30. The pool areas were both great, plenty of sun beds available when we were there in late August. The best thing about the hotel though were all the lovely staff, so friendly and so helpful.
Great staff, great beach Will definitely return.

Wasn’t as clean as I would have expected, dusty floors, slight mould in shower

Everything we needed was basically within the facility
Loved the location and the amenities. The staff was very pleasant. Very clean resort and we enjoyed the private beach access.

I was supposed to have ocean view and I didn't
Poor lighting at night leading to the premises.
Service and staff were amazing and very hospitable.
Everything was perfect
Very friendly staff. Beautiful resort with many food and beverage options. We loved the activities for the kids!
Really enjoyed the location on Hilton Head Island. Only stayed for a work trip, but with the quick beach access, I would recommend it to any travelers. Very convenient on-site pool and food access.
The star of this show is the staff. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The front desk made checking in and out fast and easy. The customer service was consistent throughout the stay. I did not have even one bad or average experience with staff- all went above and beyond. Smiles all around. The facilities were nice with a wonderful location. There were several great amenities like a coffee/supply shop, gym, bars and restaurants. The food overall was great- lots of options. Beds slept well and room was cozy. The room had ambient, low lighting options that I loved. I have astigmatism so most lamps are very bright for my eyes. The room lighting was perfect. Quiet hours were observed and made the stay very pleasant. Pools and outdoor areas were well maintained.
I felt the breakfast buffet was very expensive. I did not like kids sitting at the bar. The gym is a bit small for a resort of this size. I would also like to see more interactive entertainment options. Maybe karaoke or a guest game like Family Feud or Trivia.
This was my second time staying there. The remodel is a big success. The location is great and the staff was friendly.
The lights in the hallway were not centered. But everything else was great.
Todo está muy lindo 😍
Que se tiene que pagar por cada cosa que ocupes , sillas para la playa , sombrillas , pienso que eso debería de ser parte del pago por la estadía .. pero aparte de eso todo está muy lindo lo recomiendo 🫶

Walls/floors seemed thin didn’t get much rest for the noises of other guests that didn’t follow the quiet time rules. Could t get a drink at the bar for less than $10. Pressed for gratuities after an automatic 15% gratuity on everything in the place.
We loved our time at the Sonesta for an end-of-summer trip, just my wife, daughter and myself. We noticed the rates in August were much lower than peak season and it wasn’t too crowded either. We stayed in a terrace king room with sofa bed on the second floor and had a nice view of the pool. The room was immaculately clean and a good size for 3 of us. We spent each morning with a coffee from Sea Glass, then the day at the pool. The mini fridge in our room was perfect for storing food for lunches, as the on-site restaurants can be quite expensive. We’d spend the afternoon in the pool or explore the beach. They have blue beach umbrellas and chairs setup for rental through a third party and we used that for our last full day to enjoy the beach. Each evening we’d drive to local restaurants and highly recommend Sandbar, Hudson’s, Carolina Crab Company and Quarterdeck (in Harbor Town). There are paved trails in Shipyard (where Sonesta resides) and they have bikes to rent. All the staff at Sonesta were so friendly and professional. This was the first time we’d been to Hilton Head in 20 years and our first time at Sonesta. We’ll be back next year!
The location
Just an all around nice place!!
Pool is great, Jason by the pool is always the best!!!
The hotel had a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere with a convenient walk way to the beach. It has two nice pools. One which is family friendly with games and activities in the afternoon and one quieter adult pool. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable with a modern feel. It is very convenient to activities and attractions in the area.

Celebrated our Wedding Anniversary with our children and grandchildren, 21 in total. The staff is outstanding and very attentive. Amenities were great, pool, food, room and overall facility. The facility is on the beach and it was a very short walk to the water. The grandchildren loved the activities and the nightly movies. This was our second time staying here and we will definitely be back. The concierge, Jeff, was very helpful and very easy to work with.
Beautiful & perfect for walking & walking your dog!
The signage for finding facility could be better
Relaxing and peaceful
Fire pits had to tell at the front desk to turn on. No knob they could only control. And they were slow about doing so!
I really liked the adults only pool and the property was aesthetically pleasing.
Most of the staff we encountered were not friendly. However, my biggest reason for rating so poorly is that I was charged during a night audit for $449 that was not a part of incidentals or charges I made to the room, and I did not authorize for such a charge to be made on my card. They attempted a second time to charge my card again this time for $520 (unauthorized and thankfully my bank declined) and when I asked 3 different people at front desk about this charge, I never got an actual reason as to why this was done and was told that the money would be refunded 2-3 business days after check out. Which has yet to happen. I also advised them the card on file was not the one I would be checking out with and that my friend and I would be splitting the cost of the stay between us both on different cards and we were assured at check in and during the stay this would be ok. We finally ended up paying for our stay the night before check out so that another "night audit" charge would not be attempted. If this is something they are going to do, they need to be transparent with people, and also give a logical explanation as to what this is for. It never showed up on my receipt when we paid for the stay and I had to file a claim with my bank to dispute the $449 charge. There were also miscommunications about the shuttle service and customer service was just not on par. Very disappointed and will not be staying at any Sonesta Resorts again.
Staff was great, the ass manager in the front desk SHE WAS AMAZING
The price is way too high for the kind of place , very normal resort, and the area of the beach was sooo dark , I think it was too expensive for the type of resort, you can stay in better places with better pools more amenities and better price. We walk out as soon we check in
Just arrived for a family vacation was planned 4 months prior. Arrived to hear that they had double booked my reserved room, so had to accept a lesser room. Not a good start so far - will see how the rest of the stay goes.
Gorgeous, easy to get to, safe
Walls could use more insulation. Could hear dogs barking and kids playing
The ac was not working properly in our room. It was 76 in the room during our entire stay.
Very nice rooms snd beach front! There’s an adult hot tub and adult pool besides the regular pool. Access to the ocean. Bikes available to rent and great bike paths. Fresh towels daily plus unlimited pool and ocean towels.
The food was expensive and there was no complimentary breakfast.
It was a wonderful experience! Everyone was professional and pleasant. Sonesta Resort was absolutely beautiful!
The staff are the most friendly staff aywhere. So accomodating. I wish I could tell them all personally just how nice they all were. I will definitely plan to visit again. As a totally blind person in an unfamiliar environment, I felt so comfortable and confident that any needed assistance was at my disposal.
Man! If the balconys were close enough to th e beach to h ear the waves...
The property ground is very beautiful! I love the location, as it is in a secluded area. The staff were nice and pleasant, especially in the dining areas. The food (especially the breakfast) was delicious, and it was nice to eat breakfast on the terrace twice.
This property is overpriced. I booked a premier view room with a balcony/two queen beds, and the bed and breakfast package for 3 nights. Our room was newly renovated, but very basic with no microwave. Although we had a nice view of the pool area and grounds, I was expecting a view of the ocean for the price we paid. The room was not as clean as we had hoped as there was hair on the floor on the floor, and hair stuck to the walls and shower in the bathroom. One of the beds was sunken and uncomfortable. The bed seemed too small for a queen, more like a double.
After calling to request an extra bed, the resort confirmed it. When checking in, the request was reiterated and confirmed by the receptionist that she knew it. But when I got to the room, there was no extra bed. Disappointed and unwilling to repeat the request. The family of six had to lie on two queen beds. The others are all fine. Slightly disappointed and will look for another place
location.
Room was not clean, all facilities paid, too expensive and its not resort level
I love it
Nice facilities Great adult pool Close to the beach Nice staff Relaxed atmosphere
Slow internet
Great spot, great beach
WiFi issues all week. Dirty pool area Very disappointing
Everything..
Staff should be trained for better/kinder behaviour....
First off, everyone we encountered in person was lovely. Our experience in this aspect reminded me of the type of customer service we had 20 years ago. The front desk, the pool staff, the bell hop, the employee at the little store by the pool were all lovely. Well done, especially on a crazy holiday weekend. The grounds are gorgeous. We were happy to lounge by the pool for hours, which isn’t something we typically do. It was very clean. They have an AI assistant, but it was actually pretty helpful! There is an absence of a book in the room that explains checkout procedures, etc. I think I would have still liked the old school physical book, but the AI is a good bot. We had a whole conversation about the (spoiler alert) bathroom fan issue. My only complaint is the room. This is my first experience renting such an expensive room (~$700/night for 4th of July weekend). Room 3115 is as far as I can tell the most expensive room type. It’s the Signature Sonesta King Room. After we unpacked, someone in my party took a shower and noticed how muggy it got and how moldy the grout was. Right after, someone else then used the restroom. Our room filled with muggy bathroom smell. We realized the bathroom fan wasn’t working properly. I called guest services and the young girl who answered was very sweet but didn’t really seem to know how to remedy the situation. She said she could bring a box fan up. I re-explained the problem and how a box fan wouldn’t help the situation. I asked if we could be moved and she said no as the hotel was full. I wasn’t offered any compensation, but she did apologize. She did end up offering to send the engineer up. I told her they could come in while we’re at dinner. We went out and came back a few hours later and no one had been in our room. My husband looked at the fan a bit more and you can see it spinning but almost no air is being sucked in. It’s not broken. It’s just terrible and given the mold, this is probably a known issue without an easy fix. Therefore it’s unlikely to be remedied while we were staying there without great disruption. With that information, he called guest services back and asked them to cancel the engineer request as we were going to bed. During our 3 night stay, we needed to close the bathroom door in between use, which made the hot box miserable to reenter. That led to the “mommy says you can’t go #2 in this bathroom unless it’s an emergency” rule. (We used the pool bathroom when possible. Up and down 3 flights of stairs). We all skipped one day of showering too. We did open the bathroom door when we would leave the room periodically. Shout out to the room A/C. It worked HARD at cooling and dehumidifying. This bathroom appears to have been updated somewhat recently, but as mentioned the tile grout is molding significantly at the bottom (probably due to the trapped moisture issue). I wouldn’t count this against housekeeping as I know how difficult that was to clean in my own shower at home that needed to be retiled. It’s not reasonable for a housekeeper to address that in a same day turnover of a room. The bed was not comfortable. Felt like a cheap box spring or base. Every centimeter my husband moved woke me up. Every night for 3 nights. Cheaping out on that was definitely a choice for a $700/night room. I’m so conflicted about this stay. The room experience was terrible. But the resort is amazing and has a rare, hardworking, amazing staff (who probably take some grief from hotel guests about issues like this outside of their control). All in all, it was not worth the very high cost. We probably won’t be back.
Beautifully maintained and separate pools for kids and adults.
All the extra charges for service, tourism, etc.
If you want dogs barking all day and night in other guest rooms then this is the place for you. Seems to be that the hotel staff doesn't care enough for non pet guest.
Nice location great amenities love that they have hard wood in the rooms and multiple pools.
Could update some things but overall still good
Pool was great
The food and food service was lacking.
One thing that really stood out, aside from the amazing property, was the great service. Upon my arrival, Dianne was one of the employees that left a mark with how she handles her guests. Interactions with her really shows the type of service you get when booking resorts like Sonesta! Hoping to come back again soon!
I love this place! It’s Beautiful!

Loved it
Parking if anything
Beautiful and clean property
I wish they had more activities or live entertainment for adults. A lot of stuff for kids
Everything was very nice. The property and room was very nice and clean
They had a convention and the people in the convention take over - you can not go to the Lobby the convention people are on the speaker phone and you can not get near the bar or a place to sit. They should have their own Lobby.
The staff , the cleanliness , the location was perfect . Distance from the beach was great !!

Location , breakfast,
The Price was too high for the value delivered. , inconsistent in Service ,
It was our first time staying at Hilton Head and a warm welcome from Dianne at the front desk was totally amazing which made our stay incredible.
Clean and friendly
Too long to the beach
It was beautiful
So much to do and relaxing

We spent 4 nights at the Sonesta while attending a family event in Hilton Head and had a great time. The staff was professional and courteous. The atmosphere at the resort was very relaxing, we had direct beach access and there were several food options available on-site. When we experienced an issue with our room, Jermaine promptly brought it to the attention of Michael Insua, who went over and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this resort.
Everything
Oasis
We liked the proximity to the beach.
Our room was boiling hot. our bed was sandy when we checked in. The room smelled. The staff didn’t clean the hallway - we saw a cockroach that was sitting outside our room for 3 days and people’s glasses and plates were outside their rooms for the same amount of time. The staff were miserable. The front desk was not helpful. The food was terrible. For $500 a night, even given the location, you should expect more.
Great pools, easy beach access. Yoga on the beach , firebird.
Food by the Pool needs to be better.
The Patio food and service was great. The grounds were beautiful.
Room temp. Motion sensors on thermostat turned up AC during night, Woke up hot, threw covers and couldn't sleep. $40+ a day for parking and amenities when the room charges are already high was ridiculous, Called as soon as we arrived to get a pedicure. Already booked for our entire stay.
Our room was excellent. The breakfast was delicious. The location by the beach was wonderful. The staff was mostly pretty helpful.
We used the laundry facilities and the stunk up our load so badly we had bring it elsewhere to wash. No help with that when I spoke with someone. The halls stunk like sweat and needed cleaning.
Great property but a few things to note. First, we picked this hotel because needed a hotel where the kids and I could bring our one year old cat. We booked the Garden Suite and were surprised to find that it is perfectly situated facing the pool. The garden suite was perfect for three people - my daughter and I shared the king bed, and my middle school aged son slept on the sofa bed. The suite is large - lots of room and a large bathroom. All rooms with animals are on the first floor, so we could walk right out the patio door to the pool, it was great. The hotel staff did an excellent job of keeping our cat safe while the room was cleaned. I was very surprised to learn that they didn’t charge me the pet fee for my cat. We went to the beach and booked chairs and an umbrella for our stay. I didn’t like that the rental chairs were behind all the pop-up tents from people coming in from the public beach access. It was fine - just annoying. If I did it all over again, I would have brought our beach chairs and umbrella to set up closer to the ocean. Our only issue the entire trip was the Patio restaurant. The food is overpriced and basic, and the service was really terrible. We had a night when only one item out of five arrived as it was supposed to, it was comical what was coming out of the kitchen. The manager took care of it but he seems very weak. Because they allow pets, I would probably stay here again.
Place was very clean and family friendly.
The only thing I didn't like was that the breakfast buffet was for Elite members.
Few issues kept it from 5 stars. I really liked hotel and Hilton head and wish could have stayed a day longer but had other plans. I was surprised they had rooms available the Thursday before memorial weekend. They did have conference coming in Friday. Start with the bad. Worst being they had hood issues in outdoor kitchen. They used runners to bring food from other restaurant but oddly would not bring alcohol from same so had to get Chardonnay to go. There was some small wear and tear including water stain on our room ceiling. Also while great has shuttle they were not well organized in running it though that might have to do with how little used so unless request have to find someone to run. Hotel in good shape as one thing care about is Peloton and their bike worked great. Gym is small but functional. Has two pools as one is adults only and while right next to main pool was quieter. Pool had waiters to bring food and drink or could go to bar. Had food at Patio, coffee shop and seacrest. Nothing was great but was not bad either. I assume my breakfast was sane food they use in Buffett. One good thing is all the restaurants have different menus. Bartender at run runner and pool bar was good, spotty service at patio. Had massage and pedicure at spa. Small staff as seems only two people. Massage was good m. Pedicure was passable. Used to having callus removal and other treatments. Room was comfortable. Neither room or hotel set up for work as no desk in room though do have table. Hotel also has no business center if need privacy outside of room. Beach looks good though did not use.

This was our first time staying at the Sonesta Hilton Head, but it certainly will not be our last. This resort is one of the best my wife and I have ever stayed at, and we travel all over the world. First off, the resort is clean and very welcoming. From the moment you walk through the door it is impressive. The check in process was first class, the room was clean and spacious, the staff was friendly and polite. The pools were awesome, the grounds were well kept, and the food at all of the restaurants was delicious and well priced. It was a very short walk to the beach which was nice. The resort is within the Shipyard neighborhood, so it is kind of tucked back from the ocean with trees surrounding it. If you are looking for a resort right on the beach with views of the ocean, this is not it. Not their fault, just the placement of the buildings. Overall, I would give this resort an excellent rating as this will now become a once a year trip for us moving forward.
The amount of pets on the property.
We love everything about Sonesta. This is the only place we stay when we come to Hilton Head.

The beach access was great!
We had difficulties with the water pressure staying consistent and with the water draining. Also, where our room was located all the festivities from the lobby area could be heard well past their “bedtime hours.”
