Room was a large room with several seating options which was usefull as staying for 5 nights. Nice big bed that was very comfy. Small windows so not much daylight, better lighting of room would have been beneficial.

Fab location, lovely staff, great breakfast. Room was lovely, great nod to the past with the exposed brick and pillars. Thankful discount for Spinningfields car park, took it from £35 to £20, thank goodness!

Stay was great, very relaxing, the only other feedback I’d give is the wardrobe, one half of the hanging space was unusable due to the drawers and safe. Left little room for clothes and coats, and we were only there 2 nights.

The Hotel was excellent, very clean .The staff were very welcoming and very polite .Rooms were stunning we were upgraded to a river view room which was great . All facilities were there . Breakfast was very tasty and hot,lots of choice and its a great price too . Plenty of spaces where you could just chill and relax .

The only complaint we had was , there was a strange noise coming ( we think from upstairs) which we likened to a snooker ball being dropped and rolling across the floor , this happened on average every few minutes, we complained to the receptionist and they said they would investigate but nothing happened, this took the shine off what otherwise been a great stay

Great location for the Opera house. The hotel was comfortable, clean and everything we needed was there. The evening meal we had was good.

We thought the breakfast price was a little expensive, so chose to eat elsewhere. We had evening meal the first night, which was good, however there was a 12.5% service charge on top which we do not agree with, any service charge should be added to the prices on the menu. Let’s have it upfront please, then there are no surprises. Needless to say we ate out the second night.

Fantastic hotel. Very close to the Opera House. We loved everything about it. Great find and will be booking again in the future. The staff were great. The room extremely big, an apartment without a kitchen, but who cares as the breakfast was fabulous and had plenty of gluten free choice which is what we needed. Easy to find. In fact absolutely fabulous!!!!!!!

Room was lovely very traditional considering age of building. Location was perfect for the theatre where we had a show booked.

The staff was not so welcoming. The hotel did not live up to Marriot hotel standards worldwide. The rooms were outdated from inside. The breakfast very average. I would rather recommend to have a good breakfast in City centre cafe.

It would have been great, to be able to set the AC in the room lower than 23c. While you can set the temp, it didn't really have an effect on the room temperature.

We were going to the opera house that evening and it is perfectly situated a few minutes walk away. The room was spacious and well equipped and although busy once inside our room it was very quiet. Breakfast pretty standard but adequate.

Just remember that when you use the blow dryer push the button the little round button above the Heat and turn on controls that's how you get the air to go through hair dryers in Europe apparently.

Unfortunately the air-conditioning unit made very loud running water noises constantly through the first night. We eventually switched it off, but it still continued. We reported it on the Saturday morning & we're offered a room change. We were leaving for a wedding within the hour, so not really ideal ! I'm not convinced that someone else wouldn't be put in the room & experience the same. Staff were great throughout apart from when we were trying to very quickly move room & get ready for a wedding ! The cleaner on floor 4 stood and watched us, looked very unhappy & huffed each time we walked past her. It didn't really help our mood & stress level either !

Stayed here a number of times. Like the central location and the rooms as I have 2 children so we can all sleep in the same room. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.

£23 parking on site per day is excessive with no guarantee of parking. Only a small number of spaces

The history of the area & the building, the amazing and sensitive renovation from Industrial mill to a beautiful hotel. Duplex room is ace! Fantastic location we first stayed 4 years ago and since then the whole area has regenerated, so a great place to stay - especially for a gig at catlefield bowl or aviva studios.

i only stayed for a day or two. quick work trip. i was comfortable, gym was good, no complaints.

when i was there, their entire system failed and remained down for the entirety of my stay. this made things difficult but i cannot imagine it's a regular occurrance, just an unfortunate fluke.

Had a wonderful couple of days at the Victoria and Albert, the rooms were spotless Food was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Especially...Guyana and breakfast Nicola on reception, and in the lounge area Talitha,Anhito and Charlie. Can't wait to visit again

The overall atmosphere created by the building and staff, support... Full facilities in the room for ironing fan, kettle, tea coffee etc. pillows, we a bit difficult. Might be good to have some, memory foam ones for better neck posture, if needed by guests. But even so my sister who has back and neck soreness, did manage ok as was very happy. Small plate meals in restaurant area was a great lunchtime choice, as local eateries were pretty dear with some challenging choices. So we settled back at the Marriott. Concierge staff saved our luggage till we left Manchester which was great. Plus helped us get a taxi to Salford central station, which was good value...overall a very pleasant stay...Thanks to all....

Found the bed moved a bit away from the wall when you sat up in bed to watch the TV. Might be handy to have some little wedges ??? Or device to put in front of the wheel at the foot end of the bed. This wasn't a major issue, when you had sussed it out. Otherwise everything was very nice. Pillows note above. Obviously cost of providing some memory foam pillows might be too much. I understand this ...Thanks anyway

£7 for a can of Guinness. You have to pay an extra £8 for an omelette even when you have paid £15 for breakfast.

My wife and I had stayed at this hotel before and so we knew to expect a pleasant stay: friendly staff, good rooms, good location, fast wi-fi. We were staying to attend a works do at the nearby Barca restaurant and so we did not have an evening meal at the restaurant. But as we had arrived at the hotel in the early afternoon we did have a snack - Brioche Egg Toastie with bacon together with a latte coffee and a glass of Zinfandel and a Guinness 0.0%. The food was OK but a bit pricey at £14.00 as was the can of Guinness at £7.00. The hotel has limited parking at the front but there are NCP car parks nearby if required - Springfields is just around the corner short walk away. We were lucky enough to find a free place - the hotel charges £22 for overnight parking. Breakfast offers a wide range of both hot and cold food in a buffet style format. This does tend to mean that the hot foid food is luke warm as opposed to hot which is slightly annoying when they charge £15 per head. The hash browns were hot but the sausage, scrambled egg and beans were not - a pity as they were of good quality. We also noticed a staff member pouring bean juice that had collected in the ladel saucer back into the bean tray - not an ideal practice. One thing that annoys me about this and many other UK hotels is that you have to pay extra for an omelette - here it is a staggering £8! All the hotels we visit in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Isles have an egg station - a chef cooks eggs according to your liking at no extra charge. Why can’t UK hotels do this? Nothing beats a freshly made onlette or pancake - so come on Marriott - install an egg station and offer more egg based foods at no extra cost.

Excellent, friendly staff, particularly Maryenn and Dimytro on reception. We were upgraded to a suite. Bar and restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful and all staff that we met greeted us throughout our one night stay. Our room was large with a huge, comfy bed.

The bar and restaurant area aren't as nice as last time we stayed, the bar is strangely in the middle of the room and everything looked a bit past its best, especially the area along the waterside. Bar staff were slowly cleaning up after an event and tables were unwiped and masses of dirty glasses were on trolleys and on the bar for the couple of hours we were there. We sat at a dirty table for our little celebration, which was a shame. Our bathroom was clean but the door edge was very grubby and I noticed a black patch on the sealant of the shower and some wear on the tray.

A beautiful hotel with lots of history and character. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast was excellent. A great location especially for the Aviva studios with lots of places to eat & drink all around. Highly recommend 🌟

The room was particular warm, the weather was hot but the AC didn't seem to be particularly effective.

It was in a good location although the car park was full so we were given a discount code to park at a nearby public car park.

The air conditioning in the room did not work. It was very uncomfortable. We rang reception thinking we were not doing something right. Someone came up and said it should start cooling in 15min but it didn’t. It was very hot.

Love the aesthetic of the building, was beautiful, clean and bed was super comfy! Bonus it had aircon in this English heat wave

After returning to this hotel again for a longer stay (roughly 1 week), I have to change my previously positive review. Some of the rooms have barely functioning air conditioning, some have extremely weak water pressure in the shower. As an alternative to air conditioning, I was offered a fan. Getting a room in this hotel where everything actually works is like winning the lottery. There are some issues with cleanliness as well, mould in some of the bathrooms, and a very unpleasant smell of sewage. Some of these issues are understandable as the building is very old, but that's just not a good excuse when you are paying upwards of £200 per night. I would consider staying here again for a very short stay because of its location, but for longer stays this hotel should be avoided.

Poor view considering we paid for upgrade. Noisy extractor fans outside room. Reception wouldn't change. Said they were full. Hotel was not busy. Uninspiring choices on al a cart breakfast menu (not that we were asked) the menu itself has seen better days.

The location is great by the river and near the museums and not far from the center. Exceptional friendly staff , Rafa in reception and Lourent at the restaurant. Congrats Rafael on Spain’s win over France in the semi finals.

Overall, the hotel location was fantastic for a city centre wedding, the rooms are large, the rooms dont have a main bedroom light but enough light elsewhere. Bathroom and shower is brilliant and great pressure. Good prices in both the bar and room service.

Beds are slightly aged and could be comfier but slept in a lot worse. Parking can be an issue but if you arrive early youll grab a spot.

Bathrobes are a very very small size! Breakfast - we where told it was a buffet breakfast; it was only after I started eating I noticed another resident order poached eggs instead of the scrambled eggs on the buffet, it was only when I had finished we realised the paper on the table was a menus on the other side which I would have rather ordered from.

Arranged a corporate senior management seminar over 2days with overnight accommodation for 10 delegates. Very well received by all, conference room was excellent as were the light refreshments and lunch, not to mention the bedrooms. A total success at a very reasonable cost. Daniel (event organiser) couldn’t have been more helpful. All staff encountered by the delegates were equally helpful and friendly. Thank you all so much for making this important event memorable for all the right reasons.
