The parking is a bit of an inconvenience very little parking spaces
I loved everything, especially the buffet dinner and breakfast was exceptionally delicious and I'll most definitely come again.
Just the noise of construction work but wasn't too bad and some guests who made lots of noise and loud laughing in the corridor for 5-10 minutes at 2 in the morning and banging their doors, but myself and my 12 year old daughter enjoyed our stay.
some Rooms upgraded . others need attention. halaal restaurant and room service a big plus. in hotel musallah for prayer was great advantage . breakfast was good .. area was clean and quiet
lots of noise from renovators on other levels
The rooms were clean, and staff were courteous
comfy stay with hreat breakfast .
aged room in need of renovations
The room was big, neat and comfortable. The first day hot breakfast options were not great. However, the second day was much better. Pastries and light options are consistent and excellent.
The noise from ongoing construction in and around the hotel was very annoying. Lift only goes to 11th floor, we stayed on 12. We could not sit in the balcony on 2nd night as water was running through from the other balconies. The staff could be a bit friendlier and more engaging. They don't acknowledge you unless you engage them first. Less time talking to each other and a bit more effort in smiling at the guests.
This is the best hotel for muslim travellers. It is halal hotel. Room is spacious. Parking is abundant. Highly recommended
Nothing
Problem with the shower drain - flooded the bathroom. Shower drainage problem made the bathroom smell.
The staff was so friendly from the door to the kitchen
The bed was so uncomfortable the carpet was so dirty
the welcome & service
room service i did wait long for what i ask
The location and staff was friendly
There were strands of hair everywhere and I do no have hair. The lighting in room 1010 was bad. Light bulbs were dim. The black tiles in the bathroom were dirty.
We were received in a friendly manner by Reception and our check in went smoothly. The room was spacious and comfortable. we slept very well on the bed and the linen was nice and clean. The breakfast was more than sufficient and there was a large variety of dishes to choose from.
The Hotel is busy upgrading and renovating and there was a bit of noise .- which is understandable.
Amazing breakfast
my room was not clean more spacial bathroom
Breakfast,location
I had booked a suite for my birthday. The room was dusty, they had 2singles pushed together which was not done properly. No fitted sheet on. We could feel the single beds separating in the middle. Even the mirrors were not cleaned properly.
Everything about the room. I had booked a suite because i thought would be up to standard.
The restaurant and location was great
The room was in desperate need of upgrade, carpets and curtains dirty and out dated. Bed was old and needs to be replaced. Old box type aircon could not be switched off at control button and had to switch off by main power.Tv outdated and no Supersport channel 201 for rugby. Bathroom a nightmare, no walk-in shower, you have to stand in a small bathtub to shower, entire floor is wet once showered. Parking limited and had builders working on floor above till about 6pm on. Saturday, aswell as other building works around the hotel throughout the night. The hotel is in desperate need of a complete revamp.Only great experience was the restaurant.
Good location. Quiet. Good breakfast. Spacious room. Beds and pillows comfortable. Linen white and clean. No alcohol and no smoking policy. The lifts are new.
Hotel is busy upgrading which we were informed about 2 days after making the booking which was fine. It is run down. It needs a touch of class. The doors and frames in passages and on room cupboards are very old and tatty even with new paint. Curtains and carpets are just bearable. No friendly space in reception to facilitate coffee/alcohol free drinks and snacks. A coffee bar with a machine which could make proper coffee (filter/beans) would enhance the experience.
The beds are super comfy..lovely linen. The jamaat khana was a real plus. Staff was exceptional- so accommodating and always happy to ensure that our needs were met. In fact- I would also compliment certain staff who went above and beyond. The in room dining was also great..compliments to the chef for the delicious sticky wings . Absolute value for money. I love the No Alcohol policy. Will be back InshAllah
Very clean and friendly staff
Everything was excellent I can’t complain
Halal food
Rude receptionist. Provide accurate information but it was AT me instead of to me.
The food was good and rooms with lovely view.
The noise at bfast because they hosted schools. It was crowded too.
It was fine
Nothing
Their breakfast is great with a wide variety and the staff are friendly.
Now we didn't choose to upgrade our room, but we did not expect a room that had such a bad draft due to holes in the wall around the aircon... the wind swept through there all night and sadly made the entire experience a rather awful one. When we told reception upon leaving the next morning, they were very disinterested. I used to rave about the Capetonian, I won't be raving anymore and doubt strongly that I will be back.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was exceptional!
Nothing, everything was great!
I like the staff friendliness from Reception to morning restaurant reveivers. The space was very clean and location was very convenient 👌 👏
The carpet in the room due to my sinus problem
Prices
We had the old room
I liked the breakfast
The carpet in the room wasn't completely clean and the dstv didn't work on the first night.
Gostei de tudo, bem localizado, café da manhã maravilhoso, funcionários super simpáticos
De ter que ir embora, kkkkkkk
The location of the hotel is great. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The food is Halaal. The staff are friendly and welcoming.
The shower edge on the floor was a bit rusty and could be cleaner.
Location excellent
Nothing
Friendly staff and good food
The staff and their buffet breakfast
The bathroom facilities were old...and no extra blankets it was a cold night only throws
Spacious family room, refurbished and great breakfast
Tiny bathroom and location can be risky at night.
Great stay
I like that everything was halaal and that the facilities were modern and clean.

Renovations on a Sunday (unplanned), load guests in parking lot till early hours of the morning
I like the convenience of the location. The staff is mostly nice and always friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very good.
I didn't like the fact that the TV remote didn't work properly the TV itself was a little old. The bathroom and shower was terrible. The bath shower combo is terrible. Hardly had any space to move in the shower. There was only 1 bath towel when we arrived and I had to call for extra towels on both days of my stay. I also don't like the hard floors the carpet floors they had before was much nicer.
The restaurant
Nothing
Very convenient n safe.
I have to say da bathrooms need an upgrade but da rooms n lovely.
Loved everything, especially the new renovated rooms. We stayed there about 2 times previously. I asked for one room for single bed and it was done quickly.
There's not really something that we didn't like.
The bedroom was spacious and met our family's expectations.
Whilst we were made aware of the renovations being done, the noise factor was quite off putting, especially when you wanted to get an early night's rest.
Its a great location, good value for our locals to afford a hotel experience. Breakfast was good. The waiters are eager to assist.
The rooms can be updated. The laminate flooring is worn, the bathroom looks worn as well. The pillow on the bed had a bit of lipstick stain. Otherwise it was overall clean
Excellent service, spotlessly clean, good breakfast
The location was perfect.
The room was old , the bed was (2 single beds pushed together) uncomfortable. The bath & shower was old & unsafe . No tissues in the bathroom. Small Television with inundated channels. The remote was taped. Very noisey with construction in progress. Not sufficient parking . This must be upgraded asap.
Food, staff, rooms, private location, accessible
Excellent location, friendly staff, parking space, amazing food

The breakfast 👌
The noise from the drilling n banging
We had a wonderful girlz trip as our overnight was at the Capetonian Hotel. We had an issue with the first room however with the help of housekeeping we were able to get a bigger room which met our needs. They were so helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was the best. Will definitely book with them again in the future.
We made arrangements via booking.com for a third bed however we had to wait for a bit which was not the issue but it was annoying that it the arrangements were made prior to the stay.
Location
The plugs on the wall are outdated you need to carry your own pin plugs etc
The breakfast buffet was really good and staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the location of the hotel and the bed was very comfortable.
Room needed some work, using the shower flooded the bathroom floor, there were wires running across the wall that were really untidy and the safe was broken. The floor was also not swept properly, it was extremely dusty. It did get cleaned by room service the day after check in though
It was a great stay. I particularly enjoyed the comfortable and well-maintained rooms, the welcoming atmosphere, and the overall service. The location was also convenient, making it easy to get around.
There was very little to dislike. The stay was generally comfortable and enjoyable. Perhaps a wider breakfast selection and slightly faster service during busy periods could improve the experience further.
The Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful 👌 Lovely breakfast
Hotel was busy with renovation but the noise was very disturbing 😳

Real cape town style . excellent menue.
The sausages with eggs
Good location
The Food
The rooms where not up to standard the Capetonian way
the food
the bath, hair dryer and aircon was broken
The restaurant was good and that's about it
This was my second time. So the bathroom the shower head was shooting water from all angles. Cockroach in the shower head coming out, because the shower was so broken the floor was flooded with water. It just didn't meet my expectations at all.
All is good very clean and staff is helping any time
Breakfast
Na
The room was spacious and clean. The shower was nice, but it definitely needs a rail for in and out of the shower especially for the older people. Food was good, we just didn't see that it was a halal hotel.
Because it is a halal hotel, we will not visit it again as we missed the bacon at breakfast. The lounge area is very noisy as it is right in the middle of the reception and dining area. Would prefer a lounge that is more separated and quiet
The staff absolutely friendly im a regular atleast 4 times a year and everytime I just want to come back
It’s old and needs to be upgraded
The bathroom, the cupboards, the bed and the carpet
Perfect location
Plugs in the room were not easy access
Breakfast, room size, value for money
Its a halal hotel, should have provided the prayer mat in the rooms
Excellent stay
I booked for 2 , but they provided towels and soap for only one .
Buffet sowohl morgens als auch abends war sehr gut. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Die Zimmer hätten etwas sauberer sein können.
The staff was amazing! Really friendly and helpful. We where there with about 80 school kids, plus some other school groups, and the staff handled it so professional, calm and friendly!!
Our bathroom door couldn't close - seemed like the door was recently painted and now too thick to fit in the frame. Pillows where to flat.
Reception moved us to a clean, neat room after complaint
Initial room allocated, in poor condition
Cleanliness, very welcoming staff members Ronald welcomed us with a smile and assisted us with keeping our luggage safe before check in.Breakfast was excellent.
The ironing board was too old with stains 🥲, needs to be changed but that ddnt spoil our stay.

ALL ROUND GOOD
Food was nice, bed slept nice, room was cosy
I planned my sister's 50th surprise party at the restaurant, and booking at the hotel. We had a few guest that also decided to stay over and hotel was able to assist with accommodations. Overall a great experience
Inattentive staff. The frontline staff definitely require more training. Hotel's dated but being refreshed while we were there. Buffer breakfast and dinner was exceptional. Restaurant staff were very good. Convenient location and parking. Would I stay there again? A resounding yes.
Very convenient location and good Halaal food. Note that website prices may be better than reception prices so check the website before confirming anything at the desk.
Staff so friends 😁
They lie about some of facilities they say they have but they don't have
Prayer place was my attraction. Staff members are all friendly and humble. Very neat Potraying high level of proffessionalism. I even tip some, not sure if its allowed but their staff is amazing. The rooms are spacious and spotless with lovely set up.
Not really discomforting but the aircons needs be upgraded. Add small cussions and a trow on the bed and by the couches just to brighten up the room.
I asked for the newly renovated family room and was very happy with the room, especially the comfort and the 2 separate bathrooms. The Halaal breakfast was also very good.
I used a rental car and was just not happy with the parking as I often could not find parking when I returned. I think that you should have a separate basement parking for guests staying at the hotel or a separate parking for visitors and day visitors using the restaurant or functions
Everything
Only that there was no smart to , so was not able to use the television but it was no big deal
Exceptionally clean and great value for money. Very close to the CTICC
I will defiantly recement this to my family and friends. We as a family had a excellent stay at the hotel. The breakfast was very good. The only problem we had was that the people that stayed in the room above us was a bit noisy and we had asked the reception to send someone to make them a bit quired so that my wife could get some sleep. Other than that, we had an enjoyable time.
Friendly staff, cleanliness, great breakfast, superb location.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing everyday. I liked that it was so centeral and we could walk around the CBD .staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and iam sure once renovations are completed its going to be awesome.
We did not have hot water twice . The place is under renovation and could get noisy but we were told this when booking.

Room was lovely and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. I loved the fact that you could hear any noise from outside or the other rooms.
Switching between the bath and shower was difficult because the tap selector didn't work properly. It was also disappointing that there was no DStv or Smart TV. Even standard hotel rooms usually offer a good selection of TV channels. I asked reception for some ice but was told to go into the busy restaurant and request it from the kitchen staff myself, which I felt was poor service. At most hotels, ice is delivered to your room. I also requested a two-point plug adaptor because there wasn't one in the room. It was supposed to be brought to me, but no one arrived, leaving me unable to charge my phone.
The location is very close to the CTICC. The staff are fantastic 😊. The food is also fantastic and halal. As a Muslim I also valued the fact that they have a Masjid on the 3rd floor is a plus. Free luggage storage is also a major plus. I'll definitely stay again.
The lack of ambient lighting in the room I stayed in. I'm not a fan of white bulbs.
Loved being close to all amenities and the breakfast was great
Upgrade the bathroom
The hotel is located in the centre of the city so approaching any corner of CPT is easy. They provide lovely and spacious rooms..
Comfortable clean rooms with new working amenities Friendly staff. Sumptuous breakfast Good dinner variety buffet
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had everything we need. The bedding were great and we slept well. The breakfast was delicious and a had wide variety.
The overall cleaning lacked in the room. The sofas had dirty spots as well as the carpet. The shower floor got very slippery when wet, we had to throw a towel on the floor while showering. The street noise was keeping us awake, but that comes with the location.
The Capetonian Halaal, I visited a few days ago. Compared to other Hotels I have to admit that this is one of the BEST Hotels visited. The Staff is absolutely AWESOME, Friendly and Customer Satisfaction Orientated. The Guests are welcomed and made to feel at ease.. One of the cleanest kept Hotels by far... The Susperior Room I booked was and is Spectacular with a great view of the ocean as well as Table Bay Harbour.. Then we get to the Resturant, the Food (Strictly Halaal), The Vibe is beyond words.. The Chefs are of Top Notch catering, well Prepared Food. The Buffett is Exquisitely prepared (Even if you are not a Guest, I Recommend you grab your family, love ones or friends and Visit The Capetonian Halaal restaurant) Satisfaction Gaurenteed... To the female Ashleigh in the Restaurant, you are appreciated. You made our stay as easy and awesome as possible.. I call her Ashleigh The Coffee Girl, keep up the awesome service.. Guys, this establishment is highly recommended.. You have to go and visit even overnight and you have to meet Ashleigh The Coffee Girl to experience it for yourself..

What guests love
Areas to consider
Cleanliness
7.6/10Many guests describe rooms as very clean and neat, but several comments note spots missed (e.g., behind bathroom door), a strong disinfectant smell in one bathroom, and some outdated bathrooms reported.
Service
8.6/10Service repeatedly praised: friendly and welcoming staff, helpful with extras (e.g., adapter), surprise amenities (cake) and generally described as excellent by multiple reviewers.
Location
9/10Consistently highlighted as a major positive: central location, excellent proximity to CTICC and city centre, repeatedly recommended for location.
Room Quality
6.8/10Mixed: some newly upgraded executive rooms are praised, but many reviews mention unrenovated/vétustes rooms, old beds, dated bathrooms, shower/bed issues and an elevator not reaching the top floor.
Amenities
7.6/10Breakfast and halal restaurant are strong points, but parking is limited/inconvenient, the gym lacked cleaning wipes and there were some security/parking concerns.
Value for Money
7.6/10Not frequently called out explicitly; generally acceptable given central location and strong breakfast, though occasional food or room-condition issues temper perceived value.
Food and Beverage
8.8/10Food is often praised (excellent breakfast, varied offerings, strong halal buffet), though there are isolated complaints (repeated dishes, one poor chicken schnitzel and salty sauce).
Overall Experience
6.4/10Overall positive for many guests (would return/recommend), but noise (construction and loud guests), parking/security concerns and inconsistent room/food experiences lower the aggregate overall score.
Enjoy complimentary on-site parking during your stay, a convenient perk for exploring Cape Town from The Capetonian.
Set in Foreshore with easy access to CTICC and city sights, all just steps from your door.
Friendly staff speaking Afrikaans, English, Xhosa, and Zulu are ready to help you explore the area.
