Position in LA
Is an hotel or a roof top for party every day? Noise in the room until 3:00 AM !!! Need really to be renovated: not at the level mentionned by Booking. Carpet outdated.
The vibes were constant at Petite- excellent staff guests were incredible and it was an absolute blast. I highly recommend Petite for people who understand hospitality and boutique hotels and know that this place is a one of a kind absolute gem.
I had zero issues-
Central location
Staff were not friendly and the rooms were outdated
The positives list is short: I’m very confused by the gushing reviews from expert platforms. Excellent mattresses, some of the bread I was served on a charcuterie board was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the bathroom toiletries are lovely.
The negatives list is long. We stayed for three nights in a Demi Double, which was extremely dated and well past needing a refurb. Marks, damage and ingrained dirt on the walls, carpet, curtains and shower tiles are unacceptable, and in no way is the room aesthetically pleasing. Shabby chic went out of fashion in 2001. It was also concerning that the room had a gas fire with the pilot light permanently lit and no trace of a carbon monoxide monitor. Other guests were mainly drunk or high, with a permanent waft of cannabis around the roof terrace, corridors and lobby. I know it’s legal in California, but I can only assume people are smoking in their rooms and not being challenged. There is no free water or milk for coffee in the rooms, and ice has to be sent for rather than being self-service. The food and beverages are very inconsistent. There were a few nice bits, but also lots of inedible, cold dishes with very high prices. An average burger is 30 bucks and a Negroni cocktail is 77 bucks. The crockery used to serve food is also shabby chic, with pieces chipped and cracked. My biggest bug with the food was a pile of wilted brown leaves served with my wife’s omelette. California is dripping with fresh produce, so this should not happen. I’m also still waiting for some ice water from day one of our stay. The F&B nemesis was a pain au chocolat. On one occasion, I was sent a panna cotta, and when I told them, they asked what a pain au chocolat actually was, even though it’s on the menu. The second time we ordered one, it took 45 minutes to arrive, possibly from a local supermarket rather than the kitchen. We travelled with two teenagers, who aren’t allowed in the pool after 12, and I would advise against staying here with children due to numerous amorous couples on the sunbeds after the sun goes down. The hotel should change to adults-only. It is NOT for a family.
Great location.
They have a rooftop pool, bar and lounge on the 4th floor. Our room was directly underneath and didn’t get any sleep. After the music stopped at 1am the clean up crew was there until 4am.
Chambre - piscine - yoga
Le personnel est vraiment désagréable - réception - piscine - restaurant
The location can’t be beat, and the service was wonderful. I felt safe, the value was excellent, and the area is so incredibly walkable..tons of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and more! The poolside service was also great, and there is a beautiful view from the roof top pool as well.
Had a wonderful holiday weekend at the Petit Hermitage. The location of the hotel was so perfect as it was tucked away in a residential area but still very close to Santa Monica boulevard where there were many great options for food and entertainment. The room was charming and clean and the rooftop pool and restaurant/bar were stunning. Shout out to Trin working up there! Would definitely return here on my next visit to the area.
The vibe
They lost my washing
LA is great but massive and no parking so we had to use the hotels valet which costs $65 a night so a bit cost . This hotel also charge a massive $300 for any incidentals upon check in and we didn’t get this back for 10 days after we checked out . However the hotel was great and staff very friendly . There are free cookies at the desk and they give you a metal bottle of water which we used to refill afterwards from the tap.
Absolutely amazing vibe and design, hotel staff are great and we liked everything!
Zimmer, Rezeption sehr gut.
This place is old overpriced supposedly the members only but if you stay there, you’re obviously don’t have to remember. The rooms were disgustingly old. The walls are paper thin you can hear every single thing outside I would never stay again
I could leave a long review of all of the things. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. Between the theft, feckless staff, and general circus....you will regret it
I understand character but this was very dated and needs an update. We got a suite. It was so dark in the kitchen and very old. The steamer in the bedroom was filthy and stained my clothes. At this price, it needs modernising.
Very good staff, hotel room is very cozy and fun
Nothing
.. sexy
We loved the boutquie rooms and asthetic of the hotel, rooftop and restaraunt. It was a pleasure staying at this hidden gem.
Lovely hotel in a quiet and safe residential area the location is spot on. Hotel is quirky and staff friendly ( shout out to the tall English man on front desk who kindly phoned us a taxi to airport ) 100 % service many thanks for a great happy stay .highly recommend .
A magical place indeed, the views from the rooftop are breathtaking, the ambiance and feel is relaxed and luxurious, always a beautiful experience here. Dinner was incredible and the restaurant is one the top in LA in my opinion.
Great size rooms. Excellent roof terrace. Good atmosphere.
all good...especially JULIO and LUKE
no creamers in the rooms for the coffee
Character and good fun. Refreshing compared to bland branded hotels.
This property is like no other in LA. It’s a French boutique hotel and transports you into the sexy vibe that the rooms and rooftop bring. The staff is amazing and the most accommodating I have ever experienced in LA. They go above and beyond to make you feel like your home.
I like that they have a bar and a pool
They charge $150 if you ask for courtesy key checkout in a sunday when there is NO PPL and it's another way to milk $ from people. Huge turn off to stay there again. I checked in 11pm and asked til 12! Left a bad impression. Staff was not super warm but more like our policy too damn bad you checked in 11pm.
Todo
We got charged for the room a second time on the property and no one is answering the phone or replying by email/message. The staff seem like they are on another planet and it’s not entertaining to me. I went to art school, this feels like they are trying too hard to be acting otherworldly.
The rooftop patio and pool were lovely areas to enjoy breakfast, lunch, drinks, etc. -- and the food was delicious! Really enjoyed the cool vibe of the hotel (decor, guests, etc.) and the room was spacious.
The poolside staff service could have been better. Wait staff could have checked in more frequently to capture food and drink orders.
The roof terrace and food were both excellent, the waiting staff upstairs were very nice.
The reception staff were a little unfriendly, I was there for two weeks and not once did any of them acknowledge me. There was a three hour power cut and no one came to check if I needed anything or reach out to offer advice.
I've had the pleasure of staying at Petit Ermitage several times now, and I am constantly drawn back to the hotel as it never ceases to amaze. The reception staff warmly welcomed me, as did the tastefully decorated lobby and hotel. Upon getting to the room, it was quite clean and a lovely stay. The bed was comfortable, the allure of a fireplace added to the atomosphere, and the bathroom was also clean. Don't get me started on the rooftop! It is GORGEOUS! I found myself taking calls by day on the roof, and sipping a cocktail by night by the pool. I would absolutely recommend anyone to stay at the Petit Ermitage.
tech difficulty, no keys and no computer services of reception.
Cool vibe
Property is a bit dated.
Arrogant personal, vi förlorade småsaker i vårt rum efter städning, det lades upp saker på vårt rum från minibaren som vi inte tagit.
Loved the location and the sense of whimsy you feel staying here.. the rooftop was my favorite late night escape for a night cap by the fire.
The rooms were a little outdated and the hotel could use some upgrades. The addition of a spa would really make this place the perfect West Hollywood sanctuary for a little debauchery and relaxation.
Nothing
Carpets were dirty, couches also, it seems that they never sanitize the carpets. It looks very very dirty. Reception told me I only had a room when I booked 2. Then at 9.30 pm when we were all sleeping they called to say I had a second bedroom. I need my refund on that. This place is expensive for what it is. Not for families. Pool is too less after 12.
The vibe and the community
Nothing
My girlfriend and I stayed in a suite for two nights and the room was great. Between 6:00 and 7:00 am our first morning, the toilet kept us awake with very loud gurgling sounds. Around 9:00 am, my girlfriend sat on the toilet in the dark, without realizing that water and feces erupted onto the toilet seat and surrounding floor. We spoke with the general manager, Maria, who did not seem too concerned that my girlfriend sat in feces. Maria offered a food and beverage comp and was not willing to do anything more, insisting that since we booked the rooms on Expedia, this was all they could do. It’s hard to imagine a more disgusting hotel experience. We were very disappointed about the way in which the general manager treated this situation as if it was a minor inconvenience rather than a significant health hazard.
Petit Ermitage was an absolutely lovely stay in LA. From extraordinarily kind and welcoming staff to wonderful amenities (fantastic water pressure in the showers!!!!) and a convenient location, this was my favorite hotel in LA that I've stayed in so far. The rooftop pool and bar is a wonderful addition, allowing for lots of rest in WeHo if Santa Monica is too far a journey. I found everything I needed at the Petit Ermitage and cannot wait to come back on my next trip to LA.
Stayed at Petit Hermitage with a few friends on a trip to LA. The vibe was incredible. Cool without trying too hard, has this eclectic, artsy feel. The rooftop was definitely the highlight. The pool area especially was a great place to spend an afternoon. Staff were friendly and low-key, not overly formal but always helpful.
I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. On this stay, there was intense bass noise from an undisclosed basement club that went on until nearly 4:30–5am, followed by loud hallway disturbances involving individuals who were later confirmed by security to not be hotel guests. Despite multiple calls, the issue was not handled in a timely or effective way, and I did not get meaningful sleep. The following day, I was told a room change would be arranged, but no update was provided well into the afternoon. When I contacted Expedia to explore options, a front desk staff member escalated the situation by repeatedly calling my room and then opening my door without permission to confront me over billing. There was no emergency, no notice, and the interaction felt unnecessarily confrontational. Another staff member was brought to my doorway, which made the situation feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I ultimately left the hotel early because of how the situation was handled. While some nights were refunded, the staff conduct and lack of de-escalation were deeply unprofessional. The hotel may look charming online, but when issues arise, guest comfort and safety are clearly not the priority. I would not stay here again.
Magical ambiance, warm staff, exceptional service from the welcome champagne and cookie to the rooftop bar, pool, and lounge/restaurant create an inviting world of its own.
Staff was great and breakfast was delicious
The style, the space, the staff.
The cost of the bar/restaurant.

Charming Hollywood spot and super amenities! While it's a little older now, it's still a great spot and has lovely touches such as an extensive mini-bar, great art, fab customer service and a fun rooftop hangout. Would go again.
La posizione e architettura edificio
Lo Staff passivo è poco presente oltre al fatto che si sono presi 750USD dalla cauzione versata a Durante il pernottamento e che non hanno ancora restituito.
AC didnt work, light switches didnt work, broken furniture, wardrobe door broken, gym is for 1 person at a time!
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but what happened at this hotel absolutely must be documented for the safety of future guests. During my stay, a patron stole $800 from my daughter’s purse. What followed was even more shocking than the theft itself. The manager on duty, Joe, admitted it was his last day and was overheard saying he would delete the surveillance footage because the woman who appeared to have taken the money was someone he knew. Instead of acting professionally or taking even basic responsibility, he downplayed the entire incident and offered zero assistance. The level of disregard was so alarming that we had no choice but to involve the police. A hotel should be a secure environment where guests are protected. This property failed on every level. The combination of theft, attempted cover-up, and complete lack of accountability from management is unacceptable. Until there is a serious overhaul of their security and leadership, guests are putting themselves at risk by staying here. If you value safety, honesty, and basic integrity, stay elsewhere.
My go-to escape in West Hollywood. It has that chic, European vibe, cozy rooms, and it’s impressively quiet for being right in the middle of everything. The pool deck is priceless. Super clean and The staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the overall experience is such a good value. It feels like a mini-vacation every time.
Stayed here for a weekend staycation! My wife and I love this place. We call it the honeycomb hideout! The staff is amazing, the food is amazing, all the vibes... Amazing and the rooms are sexy and comfortable. Well priced for such an amazing experience and stay. The location is close to some great restaurants which adds the sexy to staycation. Book this hotel... You will NOT regret it!
This hotel is sexy! Everywhere you turn there is a new surprise, don’t forget to checkout the staircase to the rooftop ;). The rooms are spacious, the bed is divine..the rooftop is a scene at night. Ages that range from 20’s to 70’s, it’s a vibe. Oh, also checkout the breakfast croissant…YUM..and pair with a Bloody Mary. Enjoy the stay!
Perfect location, excellent food and cocktails, great ambiance. Lots of choices for gathering locations within the hotel - poolside, fireside, restaurant. We were psyched to stumble upon a rocking band in a side room - sooo goood. Will be back for sure.
I was picked up at the airport as soon as I stepped outside. My driver was like family. Checked in, within 5 minutes and was enjoying immediately. The staff on the rooftop were friendly and made excellent suggestions. The food was awesome. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had!!! The rooftop pool was heated and perfect. The live entertainment was unique and sexy!! My room was classy and comfortable. Loved the water pressure of the shower. All the details were accounted for, including, the best artwork of any hotel I’ve ever stayed!!!
The Best hotel in LA! I went with friends and family where we booked several rooms so I got to see how much love and attention the curators put into the space. The vibe is on point - from the rooftop pool / restaurant / music lounge to the large rooms with living rooms and kitchens. It felt like home away from home with dope art everywhere. It's a members club as well and we met some of the coolest people in LA (I've been coming to LA for 28 years) I'm looking forward to exploring their other property, Elsewhere, in Topanga. If boutique hotels are your thing you are going to love Petite.
Petite has a sophisticated vibe, gorgeous decor, quality food, beautiful crowd, good taste in music and the performances there are a high level. It's the best place to stay, party, dress up and meet people in LA. And the bed is amazing.
A little slice of burlesque heaven, impeccable hospitality service team, loved the music and vibes. Can't wait for my next trip to LA to spend the stretched out day there again. ♥️
I loved the room, the rooftop & the exercise room. The staff was exceptional
1. My room smelled like smoke 2. There was a peloton bike, but no cages (who travels with their Peloton shoes??)
I love the property and go very often
A lot was closed. Pool área so dirty still at 10am. Felt like i was crashing at a friend who threw a house party. Elevator did not work. Staff cares more about the party clients of the evening than the guests
Amazing
