We stay here when the disabled room 2 is available, we know the room the staff the bar etc . All good . The Manageress is always on hand if we need help , great team . New member of bar staff this week and did not catch his name but fitted in very well . Thanks team
Not a big enough selection of whiskey
Location centre ov town Friendly staff
Rooms... up very steep flight ov stairs.. although the building is an old building i expected a little more for the 130.00 price tag... Marks on head board Sloping room had to sleep back to front Toiletries in pump dispensers Breakfast additional charge Car parking close by in a very small pay and display car park
Didn’t have breakfast, Staff were good and helpful, but understaffed, location excellent
The room was tired, paint peeling off ceiling above headboard, couldn’t have a shower, shower head not operating properly, sweet papers and grime around bed tables, hole/rip in lining of curtains to charge £140 for that room was and is ridiculous, worth £70 at most.
Awesome breakfast, friendly staff
Price of alcohol
Location
Some of the room furniture was dated and showing its age, worn chairs and headboard
Location
Room could have benefited from a deep clean. Don’t like to find hair on bathroom tiles and floor.
Great Hotel
nothing
I liked that there was a fan provided in the room.
Lots of large spiders in our room. the floor was tilted which wasnt really a problem but was surprising.
Breakfast was very good ,porched eggs excellent. The where very good
Everything was fine
Very nice and polite staff at reception! Definitely will stay again! Thank you
Stayed the night for Brecon Jazz festival. Ideal location in centre and totally silent after 11pm, as promised.
There’s no parking but paid for 24 hrs at cathedral car park & easily found free street parking thereafter.
Staff were friendly, clean room , comfy beds
Could do with a couple of sockets in the room
Great location great staff highly recommend
We left everything about the property
Central location Comfy bed Creaky floorboards
The location is excellent as it is right in the centre of town near to all shops. The room was clean and the bathroom comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs. Tea and coffee with kettle were provided in room.
The room felt quite basic - just a few small touches like supplying tissues, biscuits, nice scatter cushions on the bed, some more paintings on the wall would have made it much more pleasant. We had shampoo instead of handwash in the basin. It seemed overpriced for what we got. There is no parking which is a bit annoying for unloading but nearby car parks are free from 6pm-8am. The receptionist was quite unfriendly.
It was in a good location and clean. Fine for a one or two day stay. Helpful staff
Bar price for a thimble full of orange mixer. The stairs were steep. Light fittings missing in the room.
Location
quite tired in places
On the Saturday the breakfast was served too late for me to stay for breakfast.
When booking there was no mention a bout the nosey boiler and air conditioning unit out side my window. This let the stay down.
The staff
Not clean decoration needed updating throughout especially stairways and rooms
Convenience town centre
Poor breakfast

To be honest the location that was about it .and staff where very helpful
The room was dirty .had dirty stains on carpet . And general dirty The breakfast was cold . Didn't feel like it was freshly cooked . In general it was not great experience .abs Def not worth the money
Staff were fantastic especially the young lad and girl wo was confronted by rude customers
Nothing it was lovely
Centre of town. Good bar. Efficient and friendly staff.
Room clean but needed some tlc. No easy parking.
Friendly staff, bike storage with a plug to charge an e-bike and lovely breakfast
Lots of stairs to our room on the top floor
Convenient location, exceptional staff who were very helpful. Supper and breakfast were good.
Tired decor, worn and stained carpets in places. Lugs in the bathroom were loose, a struggle to unplug once they were in use. Bed a bit hard.
Location was excellent. The breakfast was medicore.
There was no lift at the property. We were staying on the top floor and the stairs were very steep. We were not offered any help to carry our luggage up the four or five flights of stairs. The rooms were extremely hot and there was no air conditioning. As per notices in the bedroom we asked for a change of towels and some toilet paper and we were told they would be delivered the following day which was not said on the notice. The staff did put them in our room that day. The shower was in the bath and there were no safety rails to assist getting in and out. The shower itself was very poor. The floor in the room was sloped so unsafe at night. On the night we arrived we tried to order bar food and were told there was a one and a half hour wait and the kitchen would be closed by then. We were travelling for a wedding and the remainder of our party 3 more rooms arrived the next day and they were also very unhappy with the rooms.
Très bon emplacement. Personnel sympathique.
Good service and breakfast
No wall mirror bath and sink plug no attachment to remove shower unable to move up or down as attached to the wall
Wahl"?
Close to jazz festival venues - minimal walking required
The location
It wasn’t very clean bathroom sink had hair in it , the glasses by the kettle were dirty , too many stairs , trying to attract the night porters to be let in, net curtains are torn,
Accueil, emplacement, possibilité de garder la Moto. Bar plus restaurant. Petit dej super copieux
Toujours le tarif anglais des hôtels
The location was good
The bathroom and bathtub were unclean, with no floor mat in the bathroom, and there was no car park.
The room was nice, the staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was good, we used it to stay for a visit to Portmeirion, but the town itself was very cute with nice shops and restaurants.
Great location and value for money.
Location is ideal and breakfast is a worth while booking additional! Staff were friendly downstairs in the main building what very nice modern and looked after.
We stayed in room 24 only one light worked one left without a lap shade the whole room was on a slant which felt dreadful to walk around. Tv didn’t work even with the broken controller provided. Bed side tables are about to collapse. Very poor standard of room. Bed was very uncomfortable poor mattress.
Location was brilliant
Cramped bathroom. Im a tall chap though, but my partner is short and she struggled a tad.
Great location, excellent staff
The floors in the bedroom and bathroom were a bit uneven, so not great for anyone with mobility problems
Food was excellent
Small room no bedside cabinets
Great staff
Really hot room small fan. Tatty curtains
Staff were friendly ane efficient, luggage storage
No parking, elevator, our room was noisey about some ac units
We had evening meal which was very good as was the service. The hotel was convenient for our stay in Brecon.Staff, particularly on reception were extremely helpful Will stay here again
Posizione, comodità, buone camere, buona colazione e ristorante
Piatti mancanti pur presenti sul menù
We are travelling on a motorcycle and the property provided excellent secure overnight parking for the bikes, The location is excellent for exploring the area, must admit though ,,staff are a credit to the company
Because of recent pedestrianisation of the area , roads have been built and satnav is inaccurate, can be a bit frustrating finding the hotel,
Looked an impressive building in the centre of town .
Didn’t have a personal feel too it . Not the property’s fault . It’s a pub after all The quality of breakfast wasn’t the best but adequate.
Staff really friendly and helpful. Light breakfasts available on request.
Drinks a bit expensive.
breakfast was good room were fine.
I stay when the weather was red hot room was to hot air con would have been good but understand it is a very old building
Very good location being right in the centre of Brecon. The staff were polite. The pub was cosy and spacious.
The hotel rooms upstairs really need a refurb. Everywhere looked dated and tired. There were no plug sockets by the beds as these had been covered up. The headboard was scratched and marked. The walls needed repainting. Our room was on a slope bizarrely which made the travel cot we had pretty difficult to use as baby was slanted - some people might find it quirky but was no good for us! The bathroom was pretty poor. The shower head needed replacing, hot water was intermittent and water pressure was rubbish. Whilst it was clean, the taps etc were old and so just looked pretty bleak. Another room in our party had black mould all over the bathroom ceiling.
Great staff, very welcoming
Lack of on site parking, although parking nearby
Visited the wellington in Brecon last weekend for a weekend away with my partner. We wanted somewhere in the centre of Brecon on our visit and was recommended to book the wellington. Service was fantastic, rooms were clean and great value for money. We also dined in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Delicious meals, great service from all the staff. Would recommend anyone to visit the wellington when going to Brecon.
BEWARE Good central location. Note, no hotel car parking. Great quick easy & informative check in & nice clean spacious double room with recently renovated bathroom. We didn't eat in the hotel as we were out exploring. We did have a drink in the bar later that evening, served by a friendly young man. But when we returned to our room, at the front of the hotel, We were met by a very loud noise, a hammering from a pneumatic drill/breaker digging up the road meters from our window untill 23.10 . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this even allowed in a town centre with hotels & accommodation ? I would have expected the hotel or company to have put a warning on their website & to inform the guests when they arrive & at least offer them a room at the rear, or a discount or then allow you to cancel the booking if your not happy. We know that the noise problem is temporary & would only bother guests who want to sleep before 23.00. If you do it would be worth contacting the hotel to confirm that all work,s are completed. Apart from the external noise a nice one night stay.
The spacious ground floor areas, the food (and the fact that the kitchen was still open mid-afternoon), the friendly, efficient staff who knew what they were doing.
The grubby top floor staircase, lack of power sockets by the bed
The staff were friendly and efficient
The hotel has seen better days and the bathroom needs attention. The smell of drains was strong and unpleasant.
Old fashioned comfortable and conscientious staff.
Sat outside as we had our dogs with us and ordered on the table app it took some time for our food to come out. We questioned the drinks we ordered on the app and the manager rolled his eyes and re-took our order and returned quickly with the drinks .food was ok but it did not feel warm and welcoming was not over impressed would not visit again
Location
It was basic but that was what you pay for
Great central location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great location and the room was well-appointed.
The staff was fairly short for all but one of the interactions. I tried to avoid them as anytime I interacted, they seemed annoyed — especially the man who was often at the front desk.
Location

Central position for theatre
Nothing
We booked a table. Upon arriving, a young lady went to take us to said table, then stopped without a word, then went to find a colleague. They had a conversation and then said that we shouldn’t have been able to make a booking and needed to sit in the bar. I’m not sure, even now, that I understand any of that. The starters were good, the mains were at best average- soggy fish and chips, watery risotto which really required more cooking. The deserts were ok. The young folks you had serving were all pleasant, but not very organised. As an example, my wife went to the bar and ordered - and immediately paid for- tea. The asked her table number. The tea never arrived. She went back to the bar and found it had been placed there and left there.

Everything went well good Hotel and location
Continental breakfast we stayed at the Wellington many times the breakfast seemed to get worse with each visit so now we skip breakfast
Great location, rooms were clean and exactly what you needed for a few days away. Staff were extremely helpful and the food was amazing in the restaurant.
It had a vacancy
Generally low rent and grotty
Worse breakfast ever it advertised as 2 eggs I had 1 2 sausage I had 1 the mushroom had been chucked in to deep fat and was soggy and cold the bacon had bee pre cooked and solid the sausage well look at the photo ?? Informed the waitress of not happy breakfast returned but asked to pay for it because I hadn't pre paid
We stayed here for two nights at the start of our Wales road trip. The Wellington is central to Brecon, and in a great location for exploring the surrounding Brecon Beacons National Park. They served a great Welsh breakfast and the staff were welcoming and friendly, good value for money.
Very central . A lovely comfortable hotel and helpful staff.
Nothing.
the room was very comfortable and breakfast was perfect
everything
Breakfast was good, but if down late, choice was limited for continental.
The floor was not level in our room (no,9), it may have been a grade 2 listed building but to have a 1 in 6 slope was not good and very uncomfortable for walking around on. As you have no parking for the accommodation, maybe you could consider issuing parking passes/permits for guests, as it is not clear with the carpark signage that you can park in a majority of carparks overnight, and not all guests use Apps on their phone for paying for parking!
Central location and room was a decent size. Cooled breakfast was good but is subject to an extra charge.
The window was single glazed and the room was noisy. We weee disturbed by drunk people walking about late at night. It’s a good 10 minute walk from the nearest car park and no parking at the hotel.
Ottima posizione. Bella struttura esternamente.

Hotel was superb, great location and rooms were exactly what was needed for a few days. Staff were absolutely brilliant from check in to check out, the food was amazing on Saturday night. The chef is to be highly commended. A big shout out to your manager, I didn’t get her name but while she was running around on Saturday night she took time to make sure we were ok along with everyone else, a real whirlwind of a lady and I was tired just watching her. Will definitely be back again.
Very central location, lovely helpful staff and very dog friendly.
Some of the facilities are a bit dated
Checkin was quick & easy. Our room was great, beds were comfy. Exactly what we needed.
During checkin was enquired as to when the kitchen stopped serving food. Only to be informed that despite being 20:15 on a Friday night the kitchen had already closed. We checked the website which says food service should stop at 22:00. Rather than question this, we headed elsewhere. Very disappointing.
Lovely staff - working very hard but with smiles! Central location comfy bed and I had lots of hot water for the shower.
Room was crowded with furniture and dull. The food wasn’t great. My burger was overdone. Breakfast “smashed avocado” was a smear of paste on toast But lots of options to eat in the town.
Breakfast amazing ,location great
Windows were old and mostly couldnt open as were sealed with paint over the years. Ones that opened, only opened about 2 inches, unbearably hot in bedrooms .
Good location in the middle of Brecon, good food options on site, fantastic breakfast
Room was a little bit tired, signs of wear and tear all over the hotel, but it was clean so not that big a deal
Location, price, good sized room, comfortable bed
Very hot needed Aircon. Lack of openable windows in the hallways and landings meant that our room on the second floor was very hot. Meal prices were unrealistically expensive for such a modest establishment. Free parking was a long way away which was inconvenient - in general the whole town has a very rundown dilapidated feel to it now, which is sad…
Great spot in centre of town, helpful staff, perfect for a night away, complimentary breakfast bits was great
I like the Wellington, the price is right for an old building. I prefer an old building as there is less plastic and the space in the bathroom feels uncluttered. I have been before and will go again. The staff have a good attitude and they work so hard.
very hot but the fan in the room was already there. staff very helpful.
parking is an issue in the centre of town. Lots of stairs.
Location right in centre of town. I was offered a larger room, with a large electric fan, as my original room was not prepared, in time for my arrival. Lovely breakfast. The bar and restaurant very convenient.
Finding my original room had not been cleaned, but credit to staff, who offered me an alternative room.
Comfortable room. Helpful staff
Breakfast was very poor. Wouldn’t take a lot of effort to improve this.
Doggy friendly and central location
I did not get the room i paid for..and hotel blamed booking.com fot this... a much smaller room was not adequate. Also the hotel is very tired and needs urgent work to bring it upto standard. And the we have the construction site outside the hotel, meaning no parking, dropping off .Would not stay here again
Staff are friendly and welcoming, room was comfortable and clean. No complaints
Great location, nice property.
Maybe some more fruit and nuts for breakfast.
Location
Cleanliness, tired decor, small rooms, grubby, tv didn’t work, rooms not cleaned, beds not made, no new towels, even when requested.
Comfortable and clean room. Helpful and griendly team.
