There was nothing I disliked. I would have liked maybe a bottle of water in the room but I guess thats more of a hotel experience. The room was very nice and a comfortable bed.

It was exactly what I wanted

Christine, the owner, was very helpful in recommending where to eat and also regarding parking arrangements. The location is excellent. The bedroom was very spacious.

The tiny bathroom and very small hand basin is challenging but not a deal breaker. I suggest having background music or radio playing in the breakfast room. The people at each table were whispering for privacy and respectfulness. Listening to people eat and scrape plates isn't pleasant.

Excellent location and Christine was the perfect host: helpful and with great local knowledge. Breakfast and facilities were great, the room and bed were very comfortable.

The room was on the small side, but perfectly set out and very comfortable.

The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. Safe storage of bikes was appreciated.

The shower room was very small and the hand basin was tiny. Having to order breakfast the evening before did not work so well for me.

The staff were absolutely lovely. Christine in particular was incredibly helpful recommending places to eat. She went above and beyond for our stay at the guest house. Fantastic location too - lots of places to walk/hike but also perfectly situated for the town!

A great price and very clean We were made to feel right at home from the moment we walk in we had a great stay and would recommend a visit if you're looking for a great stay in the Brecon area very close to town centre and all amenities

We were lucky to get a parking spot out side of the hotel but that's not alway possible but in saying that it's really not that far to the car park

The location was excellent with only a short walk to the town. The atmosphere was very friendly and quiet. My room was beautifully furnished with Christine’s new cushions!!! It was very reasonably priced and very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious.

Nice welcome, fresh w.elsh cakes a nice touch. Appreciate the fresh milk in the fridge. Nice breakfast.

Great B&B and service. Wonderful breakfast and really appreciated the friendly hospitality. Parking in front from 5pm or across the street. Otherwise there are parking places nearby.

Excellent breakfast, host keen to provide exactly what we would like to eat, happy to accommodate a vegetarian. Location is very close to the centre of Brecon and yet quiet enough for a good night's sleep - also a very comfortable bed. Host was a generous source of local information, friendly and kind.

Good location in Brecon to visit the park and the mountains. Ty Helyg is a warm and cozy guest house and Christine makes everything that is humanly possible to make you feel at home. The room is clean, comfortable and has everything you need for your stay. Great breakfast in the morning and good value for the stay. Would certainly recommend to stay at Ty Helyg.

Echt heerlijk verblijf. We werden super hartelijk verwelkomd en kregen meteen heel wat tips voor de omgeving. Het ontbijt was ook top! Kortom: niets op aan te merken en we kunnen ty Helyg guesthouse alleen maar warm aanbevelen 🤩

Fab host Christine. Went above and beyond for us- putting our wet clothes in the wash and storing our bicycles safely indoors. Lovely breakfast

Christine has a lovely and homely guest house. The rooms are well presented, spacious and clean. Breakfast is delicious and there are lovely options of homemade things. This guest house is excellent value for money and it's next to lovely pubs, cafes and shops. Christine's guest house is also dog friendly. Christine is very attentive, friendly and ensures that her guests feel welcome and well looked after. We'll be staying there again next time we visit Brecon.

We had such a wonderful stay and couldn’t recommend this bed and breakfast more highly. From the moment we arrived, Christine made us feel completely at home! She's super friendly and kind :) And she has a great sense of humour too! The place itself was spotlessly clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable – we slept so well! Every morning we were treated to a delicious breakfast, which was the perfect start to the day. Christine was always easy to contact and responded very quickly if we needed anything, which made the whole stay feel effortless and relaxing. She also gave us fantastic recommendations for local food and drinks, all of which turned out to be excellent. One of our favourite touches was the cosy living room with a fireplace, which guests are welcome to use – it really added to the homely atmosphere. Overall, a truly lovely experience. Bathroom is a little cramped. The basin is so narrow it's difficult to use without bumping against the wall. Other than that, no problems.

Superb hosting by Christine. Rooms are lovely and clean. Location is excellent a 1 min walk into town centre. Would definitely return in the future.

Our breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Christine and her staff were very pleasant. The location was perfect for us. It was quiet at night and the beds were very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay and when we return to Brecon I would not hesitate to book again with Christine.

Everything was perfect. The house was very clean and warm and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was beautifully cooked to individual taste. Christine is a super host. Highly recommended for an overnight stay if you are visiting the theatre.

The breakfast was lovely, they had asked what I had wanted when I had arrived and make it promptly when I had sat down. The location is wonderful as I could reach all of the sights in Brecon easily.

Ty Helyg is in a great location in Brecon - it’s comfortable, friendly and does excellent breakfasts. If staying g in the area I would definitely recommend it.

This guest house was perfect for my stay in Brecon. Christine is a wonderful host and my stay at her guest house was super comfortable. I had a lovely spacious room with comfy bed and en-suite. Breakfast was delicious and there is a super snug bar/sitting room where we could enjoy a night cap:) I will definitely be back on m return to Brecon. Highly recommend. Thanks Christine

A real gem of a bed & breakfast. Stayed a night while visiting Brecon Baroque Festival, and was made to feel very welcome by Christine. Clean, comfortable, good breakfast and excellent value. All I could want really. I'll definitely be back if I stay in the area again.

The location is great for exploring Brecon and the surrounding area. We stayed here then had a short drive to Hay-on-Wye for the festival. Beautiful old hotel that has been renovated to high standard. Comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful owner who was friendly and helpful.

We arrived late and were directed to room 1, firstly the room was tired with 2 single beds, furniture a little tired and the smallest cramped en suite bathroom. I’m sure the other rooms were lovely but room 1 was disappointing. Breakfast however was delicious and saved the day.

Great B&B in a characterful building in Brecon. We were there for work, but the town is a perfect base for a range of activities, and I enjoyed an early morning run along the canal nearby. Christine, our host, was incredibly accommodating, communicating key information with us beforehand as well as providing guidance on places to eat that evening.

Great little B&B, ideal for us working at the Royal Welsh Show in nearby Builth Wells. Owner was very accommodating and helpful.

Well situated for Brecon, the canal and the theatre. We were given lots of help and advice about our stay. The beds are comfortable and the rooms well laid out. Breakfast was very tasty and lots of it too. There is limited parking right outside but the guest house has an arrangement with the theatre carpark round the corner which we found more than satisfactory. Being an old building there are changes in level throughout upstairs which we did not find to be an issue. The guest house has a comfortable guest lounge with honesty bar and coffee machine - a definite plus.

Christine was warm, friendly and extremely helpful from the point of booking until we left. Will be back again at some point!
