Location is great. Super near airport and Mall of America. 15 to 20 minutes drive to most other popular places. Hotel is out-dated even though it was renovated, but reasonably clean (not perfectly clean). Air conditioner is super noisy. Furniture is old, but acceptable. Room is large, especially good to have that sofa area for our long stay. (My main reason to choose this hotel). Free breakfast was ok, but choices are limited. $11 parking for member + 2 free bottles of water per day. Asked for a room not facing the freeway, so noise level is fine. Staff are very nice (both front desk and housekeeping).
Location to the airport and rental car dropoff was wonderful. Mall of America was very close! Desk clerk took our postcards for the mail service. The room was spacious and comfortable. Even as close to the airport as we were we were not disturbed by airplane traffic.
This hotel is run down. Broken furniture, exposed subfloor in rooms, dirty walls, and furniture. Even a few ants in the bed. Was just looking for a quick one night stop, but was really grossed out..enough to write this review which I don't normally take the time to do. On a positive note, the staff was nice and helpful.
The room had a lot of road noise. The curtains did not seal out the outside hotel lighting. The breakfast was better at The Hampton. They had construction and still charged for parking like it was an exclusive experience. Same parking as anywhere else.
The room was not as expected...Not Clean! Carpets were disgusting and dust everywhere. Bathrooms were not at a standard....We requested for a vaccum but no one came and cleaned the room
Location good for MSP Airport. Atmosphere: smelled of bleach & dirty. Rooms: bed was comfy and clean but OLD, floors walls and bathtub dirty, AC loud and bright lights shinning in 1st floor windows from accent lights outside. 4 people did not sleep well. Should have drove the 3 hour drive at 2 am instead of paying for a room. Plus they charge extra to park!
If you need a nice, clean, reasonably priced hotel, this is the place to go. Plus, the fitness room had basic equipment but just what I needed - a regular bike rather than a Peloton.
The hotel staff was possibly the friendliest I have experienced at a hotel. The room was clean and very spacious. The location to the Rail service is just a 5 minute walk which gets you to the Mall of America and all the way to Target Field. The Breakfast was the only thing I wish was better, such as being able to make our own Waffles, fresh and hot, but nothing major. I would definitely select this hotel again.
Pros: close to the airport, the front desk was super nice, the food we got from the bar was okay. Cons: this is probably the grossest Hyatt I’ve stayed at. There are stains all over the carpet, some on the couch. It’s obviously old. The mini fridge is leaking. The phone doesn’t work. The chair at the desk is too tall for the desk they have (even with the chair at the lowest height) so they just shove it under the desk so it’s almost impossible to get out without almost breaking the crappy desk. The shower is old and not appealing. My husband and I throughly checked the bed for bed bugs as this is probably the grossest hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time, luckily I don’t see any evidence of bed bugs or any bugs in the room thankfully. Conclusion: Will definitely not be staying here again.
My stay at the Hyatt Place Minneapolis Airport was not one I planned, but if I had to have a layover, it was the best place to be. The staff right from booking the room, to welcoming me to the hotel, to my room being bigger and quieter than expected was all exactly what I needed. The included breakfast had a lot of variety and the coffee was excellent. The price was excellent and Vick the shuttle driver provided the perfect end to the stay with his warm personality and safe driving. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Pros: Great pillows, friendly staff, clean bathroom, convenient location Cons: They are working on a remodel, if you get an older room it is TIRED. Rooms not very sound proof- heard neighbors (and a very loud argument in parking lot). Housekeeping tried to enter at 8 am on a Sunday (I had not put sign on door, but didn’t think I’d need it since we were leaving at 9)
Have stayed here 2-3 times now before/ after flying out of MSP. As a family of 5 the sofa bed is great for additional sleeping area. Wish the beds were Queens instead of Doubles. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Bathroom is across from the beds, separate shower/toilet room which is nice for getting ready. Additional sink by the microwave/coffee pot. We've used the airport shuttle in the past which is great. Would recommend hotel if you are OK with double beds.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. We were put on a renovation floor without being told, and the paint fumes were overwhelming. The front desk staff was rude when we asked to move. The second room was dirty with hair in the bathroom, stained carpet, and damaged furniture. Completely unacceptable and not what I expect from Hyatt.
I used to love come and stay here at the Hyatt Place. Everytime manageemnt from India takes over a hotel property it goes horribly. I run away from those hotels chains. Unfortunately this has happeded here at the Hyatt Place. If you have ever stayed in a ptoperty managed or owned by Indians you know what I mean. This is my last stay.
Room not clean and had others clothes still present next to the couch in the living room area of studio suite. Rooms seemed outdated
I am very disappointed. My husband requested an airport shuttle so I could sleep in as I needed to drive 4 hours home. When he got down to the shuttle there were more people waiting than the shuttle had space for. After he was told he could take the shuttle, they then told him they wouldn’t go to terminal 1, only 2, then back to the hotel for the rest of the guests. He needed to have his bags checked an hour before, since he was traveling internationally. I then had to wake up at 4:15 to take him to the airport, so he wouldn’t be late. This caused me to miss breakfast and leave the hotel at 4:30am. Why pay for the room a second night when I couldn’t use it or the breakfast. I was running on a few hours of sleep and had to drive back to Madison after I dropped him at the airport. Horrible experience and clear signs of incompetence by the staff. We specifically requested the shuttle the day prior to avoid this situation. Definitely did not feel like we were treated as globalist members.
Not what expected. Hotel in need of a major renovation and makeover. Room was heavily worn down. So many options near the Mall of America and airport and ended up being unlucky with my choice.
Very little support from staff, we were locked out of our room after unloading luggage and their door battery died. We were promised a complimentary room and drinks for having to wait almost two hours at night to get back in with a sick child and another one who needed their medication in the room. We were told to call a manager 'later' when we checked out in the morning and have had no follow through. We stayed one night prior to a flight for Christmas with family. The hotel room was clean but very worn out. Carpet torn up by bathroom door and furniture was scuffed and worn out as well.
Had an unexpected stay at the Hyatt due to weather coming in. Breakfast was good, complimentary. Parking was a little tight. There is construction happening at the hotel but no major noise from that. The pool temp was a tiny bit chilly but acceptable to my teenage boys. We enjoyed the proximity to the Mall of America.
We should have been told about construction when I called to book the hotel very inconvenient and no hot tub should be on the site page also my family all missed breakfast maybe extend that a little more. People bouncing up and down in the elevator next to ours scared my 6 year old. Also we are in a double room and my kids blankets are thicker then ours I had to ask for another blanket for our bed. Need more parking!
I had a great stay at the Hyatt Place South, located close to the MSP Airport. Spacious rooms that were quiet and clean. Really nice staff too. Great shuttle service to and from the airport. I was there for just the afternoon and it worked out perfect. I’ll be back! Thank you.
Work is being done on the outside of the building, and crews start at 7:45 am including the weekends. Impossible to sleep once they start.
The good first: The hotel room itself was bigger than it looked, 2 full beds with a sofa pull out. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was decent. Scrambled eggs, fruit and some sort of bread item was a daily offering. The bad part was outside, the elevator and the halls ways constantly stank of marijuana. People smoking close to the doors and in the elevator. Do whatever but not where people who don't partake have to walk through it. The hotel is under construction/renovation. Be prepared for the noise and even less parking. There is not enough spaces if the hotel is busy. People were parking on the side of the driveway between the front and back lots. Half of the disabled spots are taken up with pallets of building supplies, the workers are parking in other disabled spots without placards or license plates indicating disability. When that was reported to the front desk it was pretty much ignored.
Early morning stay. I got lost looking for the “hotel shuttles” at MSP. The driver called to make sure everything was ok, as he was expecting us. Check in was very easy. The staff was gentle with my sleep deprived brain.
Needed a room last minute very happy that I picked this hotel. The location to the airport was nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a list of places to eat and also places that would deliver to the hotel. We ended up getting pizza delivered and it was very good. The best thing was our shuttle driver Vic he was so friendly and helpful. He was took us to the Mall of America and the airport. He was always so friendly. I definitely recommend staying here and if I ever come back will stay here again.
Staff was wonderful! The shuttle to the airport and proximity to MSP were our main reasons for booking there. They serve fab drinks at the bar and everything was very clean. 10/10!
My partner and I stayed for a night after my sister’s wedding- we had an amazing stay! The receptionist was kind enough to help us check-in at 11am. Richard, the lovely bartender, gave us incredible service, recommendations, and quality conversation. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to MSP.
Nice room
Pool under condstruction
La ubicación y tenía una habitación bastante espaciosa , los shuttles al aeropuerto y al mall de América fueron muy útiles
A la llegada nos dieron una habitación que estaba sucia y después de hablar con el personal la cambiaron, estaba en remodelacim
Very nice and comfortable room. The shuttle to the airport was excellent. Departs from the hotel on the hour 24 hours. Return was as simple as phoning the hotel and the driver was there within 10 minutes.
$14 per day parking fee. It would be nice if it was just included in the rate with more transparency.
Staff was friendly. Every person that I came in contact with from front desk to shuttle driver.
Everything was perfect.
Close to airport and had shuttle service
Messy lobby and breakfast was not good.
Location and shuttle
Good was terrible Bathroom light did not work Debris were on the floor
La habitación muy cómoda y limpia
Excellent shuttle service.
地點非常好,有免費的機場接送,房間很乾淨。
Close to park and go. Better parking system now. Did not like the app parking system. Miss when we didn’t have to pay for parking. Staff is always wonderful. Love that the coffee is ready at 4 am for those early flights out. So close to Terminal 2.
There is no soundproofing at this hotel. The noise from the jets was unreal. I've stayed at many airport hotels that have much better soundproofing. Why doesn't Hyatt? The breakfast was terrible. Dried potato wedges, Plain eggs. No meat. It was awful! Not even a waffle machine. This is Hyatt! I expect much more from a Hyatt?
The customer service, room comfort, bed comfort were great!
Nothing I can think of.
First room they gave us was not made up. Second room was fine. Breakfast was ok.
Clean room. Shuttle to airport on time. Nice staff
Good for the price
My son and I stayed here overnight to catch a flight out of MSP the next day. Since I booked through a third-party site, I was not aware that the hotel was undergoing construction/maintenance. The pool was also closed for maintenance as well. Had I known, I would have booked elsewhere. Other than those issues, the room was spacious, check in was fast and easy, and the staff was friendly, The room was spacious
Room was very comfortable, clean and nicely furnished. Appreciated the Airport shuttle. Staff was very friendly and helpful!
The front entrance was under construction, so we had to enter thru the back of the property. Though it was inconvenient, it really wasn’t an issue with us.
Had a great stay!
Everything was decent but the place was looking rough at least for the Hyatt name
I wish i had booked marriott .It was my first and last time with Hyatt , terrible experience .
Friendly staff
Its close to the airport but its very sound proof so you dont hear any noise. Bed is comfortable. Room was clean except for some random hairs in shower. But i know that happens. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and will definitely stay again if needed.
Friendly service
Place was clean, comfortable, and great for a one night stay. We truly just needed a place to lay our heads that was near the airport and this place was perfect.
In-room phone did not work. You couldn’t even dial down to the front desk. Breakfast was subpar. They could add blankets for the pull out couch as it is considered a place for someone to sleep. Had to go down to the front desk and ask for some.
Clean room
This is a great hotel for a family that is traveling. It's close to the airport, has a great breakfast, the rooms are comfortable and quiet.
They were so wounderful. It was so clean. Kind people. Just a blessing to the service they give.
Building under renovation yet staff were terrific.,
Shuttle, bar and my room, oh excellent staff
A bit noisy with the construction going on
Hotel was very clean and welcoming! Breakfast was good! Transportation to airport was welcomed and comfortable!
For a Hyatt, I expected better over all.
I love having a living area and bedroom !
Loved Noel as a staff
Helpfulness of staff
Construction
Some lights didn’t work. Microwave didn’t work. Request for wake up call not honored. Won’t stay here again if I can help it.
Yes
It was nice. In the middle of construction.
Construction onsite was not disclosed at time of booking.
Clean spacious room!
Needed a place to stay prior to an early morning flight! The Hyatt was close and offered a shuttle!
Excellent price, staff great, the check in was fast she the service was wonderful. Rooms are spacious and clean , carpet was dirty but didn’t smell bad .. overall Excellent hotel
Good location. Business friendly
Wonderful! Really appreciated the shuttle to the airport.
We are very disappointed to arrive to find that the entire front entrance of the property under construction. We had to enter and exit through the back door which was poorly lit and needed a room key (hard to have a room key until registered) and go past the laundry. It was an overall very unpleasant experience. I have stayed at this property several times and normally it is quite nice.
All Great Thanks 👍
Shuttle was great, front desk staff were very friendly. I was starved and ordered some food. My meal to go was ready in 10 minutes and was absolutely delicious. . There’s some construction going on to make some improvements, but they had a makeshift entrance at the back so no big deal.
The room was really big! And I was so happy to hear that the airport shuttle ran 24 hours.
The room was comfortable and spacious for our family of 4.
We spent 3 nights at this typical Hyatt Place property while attending a wedding in Minneapolis. Room was a great size; all was clean and everything worked as expected. Shuttle service to/from the airport was prompt and fast. It is now available 24 hours a day, which was great as our inbound flight was significantly delayed. The exterior of the building is under rehabilitation, which surprisingly continued even on Saturday & Sunday. During the day guests entered the lobby from a back door. The property offers Park & Fly packages which appear to be (perhaps too) popular, as parking was at a real premium later each evening. We made out OK, but I'm not sure what others did who arrived after we did. Note: Despite there being a clearly advertised $10 per night parking fee, we were NOT charged! Breakfast was fine and of an adequate quality & selection as can be expected at a Hyatt Place (having stayed at Hyatt Places for many years, the breakfast buffet is never as good as the pictures show it on their websites). All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful.
We did the park, sleep and fly at Hyatt Place and will definitely do it again! The shuttle service was a 5 minute wait leaving the hotel and maybe 5-10 minutes waiting at the airport. The hotel is going through some renovations inside and out but it wasn't bothersome. Our room was beautiful and the staff was very nice!
