Reviewed Sep 16, 2026Deze ryokan is een mooie ervaring als accommodatie om te verblijven. Alles is heel schoon en proper! De onsen is zeer schoon en fijn om te gebruiken. De locatie is prima, 15 minuten lopen van het station, dichtbij de kabelbaan en enkele eettentjes. We werden terug naar het station gebracht met de auto, erg lief!
De gastvrouw is zeer beperkt aanwezig, dat maakt het minder persoonlijk. Op zich geen probleem maar het is leuk om af en toe een gezicht te zien als je binnenkomt. De futon bedden zijn wel even wennen, maar dat weet je als je dit boekt.

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Het hotel en de kamer is mooi in traditionele Japanse stijl maar het is toch modern en schoon. De hot spring/onsen die bij het complex hoort was erg mooi. Goede locatie ook, mooi uitzicht op het meer. Je moet je schoenen uit doen in het complex. De kamer is behoorlijk groot, en er is een koelkastje.
Er is geen douche in de kamer zelf, er is een gedeelde douche. De gordijnen zijn erg dun en laten veel licht door in de ochtend. De matrassen zijn een beetje dun.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026I booked this room for a friend and her young son and they couldn’t speak highly enough of their stay! - we were so well looked after by the lovely host, including transfers between train station & accommodation, lift to the shop for sleeping nappies -onsen was amazing -room was large and clean -Lawson convenience store was close by -panoramic ropeway was a short walk away -loved the traditional room, it was a great introduction to first timers in Japan -restaurant onsite was convenient -position on lake was really nice -excellent pre-trip communication from host

Reviewed May 27, 2026It's not the newest hotel and it might look a bit outdated, but that's what makes it possible to get a hotel at a reasonable price in a perfect location just next to the lake, while still having all the equipment you would expect from a hotel. We liked the public bath with small sauna, cold and hot pool. Especially we liked that the hot pool was not that hot as in other places so it was actually comfortable to chill in it :)

The property is dated, reception is mostly unattended….we also had a massive huntsman spider in our room. The amenities at reception were empty and I had to ask staff to replenish them. The cafe that we were advised to have breakfast at was overpriced and poor quality.

La chambre traditionnelle japonaise était au top, tous les produits nécessaires étaient fournis, il y avait de quoi prendre le thé, le ménage était fait tous les jours, les lits étaient confortables (possibilité de rajouter un futon pour plus de confort) et ils nous on même fournis un kimono et un Haori donc l’immersion était totale. Le gérant et sa famille étaient adorables. Nous avons pu aller dans les onsens (même mon copain qui est tatoué à pu y aller), il y avait des produits pour se laver et pour se démaquiller et s’hydrater après le bain. Il y avait également un sauna ! Merci ce séjour et votre chaleureux accueil !

Reviewed May 3, 2026フロントは22時までですが24時間外出可能だったので、星を見に行くのにはロケーションも最高でした。 すぐ近くに美味しいパン屋もちょうどいい公園(広場)もあり、ロープウェイも少し歩きますが近いので河口湖周辺を回るにはちょうどいいと思います。 夜も23時まで、朝も早くから9時までお風呂に入れるし、きれいで良かったです。 部屋にもドライヤーはありますが、大浴場のドライヤーの方が使いやすいと思います。
壁が薄いので隣の部屋の笑い声などはよく聞こえます。 気にならない方は特に問題ないと思います。

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026We stayed in a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and futon bedding with a beautiful garden view and a small cherry blossom tree just outside the window. The host was very helpful and arranged luggage transfer for us. I highly recommend renting a bike and going around Lake Kawaguchi or taking a walk, as there are many great viewpoints of Mount Fuji nearby. You can also see it from the terrace upstairs. The onsen was excellent too. Wakamizusou is a perfect place to relax and experience Japanese culture.

Reviewed Apr 13, 2026It was a charming stay. The room had a toilet and a sink. Showers were shared. Everything was very clean. Water pressure was great, wifi strong. The staff is super nice and helpful.
Note that there is no lift and rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor if stairs can be an issue for you.

What we liked most was the traditional Japanese tatami room, which gave the experience an authentic and relaxing atmosphere. The facilities were very clean, including the onsen and public spaces, which were well maintained and comfortable to use. The location is excellent, right in front of the lake, offering beautiful views and a peaceful setting. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay, even though their English was quite basic—they still made a genuine effort to assist us whenever needed. One thing to keep in mind is that if you are tall (I’m 193 cm), you may need to be careful with the low ceilings in certain areas. Aside from that, it was a wonderful stay and a great place to experience traditional Japanese hospitality

I walk to the hotel from the train station, but there is also public bus to a nearby stop from the hotel. didnt take bus as it is too crowded when i first reach the train station. it was easier to walk here. there is also washing machine and dryer too

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026工作人员很情切，因为没有预约到两天连着入住的房孑所以预约了两天不同房间，工作人员非常友善的和我们说箱子可以直接放房间里到时候帮我们直接放到第二天的房间里真的很贴心。 地理位置虽然离河口湖电车站有15分钟步行距离但是就在湖边上，距离天上公园很近，离bus站也很近出行很方便，泡汤的地方不大但是设施齐全很舒服。
泡汤的地方吹风机只有一个有一点点不方便

Reviewed Dec 7, 2025Extremely comfortable rooms, very alpine style to get you in a mountainous mood. Location is obviously spectacular, there's a bike rental store literally 1 minute up the road and many others within a 10 minute walk. The listing accurately describes that you shouldn't expect a view of Fuji/lake Kawaguchi, so no worries there.
This is an onsen hotel, which was a surprise to me on arrival (admittedly I should have realised from the name). I'm personally not comfortable with onsens, but thankfully there is a single regular shower on the top floor which I found was always free. Final note, there was a sign at reception saying "If you absolutely must speak English this is not the place for you", which gave a somewhat unfriendly tone. Personally I agree with the sign, in that you should of course learn & use Japanese as much as possible, but stating this in such an outright fashion may be off-putting to some. This isn't really a negative for me, just something funny to mention (Please use Japanese though haha).

Reviewed Nov 14, 2025La ubicación está muy bien. Puedes ir andando desde la estación y muy bien para hacer un recorrido en bici por el lago. Alquilan bicis normales y eléctricas. Buen sento. Habitaciones un poco anticuadas pero la cama muy cómoda, buena calefación y un edredón gordito. No dan desayunos pero al lado está "Le pain du Daniel" perfecto para eso.
Habitaciones algo desangeladas y decoración anticuada. Necesitaría renovarse un poco.
