Kawaguchiko Hotel

Das Hotel hat Charme, obwohl es sicher bessere Zeiten gesehen hat. Das Onsen ist hervorragend und auch das japanische Frühstück. Die Lage an Der mit dem Blick vom Zimmer im japanischen Stil hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Foyer, das Kaminzimmer und die Bar sind einladend.

Viele Details zeigen, dass eine Grundrenovierung überfällige ist, z.B. die rissige Deckenverkleidung im Frühstücksraum, der ansonsten einen tollen Blick aus den See hat. Wie von anderen angemerkt ist auch das WLAN praktisch nicht verfügbar, insbesondere abends.

We had a great stay in Kawaguchiko. The place is right by the lake, and our room was a traditional Japanese-style room, which was a nice experience. It’s a little far from the train station, but the hotel provides a small shuttle bus around check-in and check-out times, which was very convenient. There’s also a small bar with billiards and social activities. It closes at 10 PM, which is a little early if you’re looking to spend more time there in the evening, but it was still a nice place to relax and meet other guests. The onsen was excellent, with great hot baths and a sauna. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the location was great.

The only things we found a little inconvenient were that our room had a bathroom but no shower, so we had to use the onsen upstairs. It wasn’t a big issue for us, and it actually turned out to be a fun and unique experience. The traditional Japanese bedding was also not the most comfortable for us, but that’s probably just because we’re not used to sleeping on this type of bedding.

Amazing views of the lake and Mt. Fuji, along with great hospitality. You can really feel the care and love that the staff put into making your stay special. The gym could be cleaned a little more thoroughly, but the equipment is brand new!

מלון יפה, עם עיצוב מיוחד של פעם. חדרים מסורתיים, נוף יפהפה לאגם. ארוחת בוקר מסורתית, מאוד טעימה ומיוחדת. המיקום של המלון נוח ומרחק הליכה ממקומות נחמדים באזור. הצוות נחמד ואדיב.

שינה מסורתית על מזרנים על הרצפה, נחמד אבל לא תמיד נוח. מדובר בבניין שנבנה לפני 80-100 שנה, ולכן הבידוד רעש בחדרים לוקה בחסר. כשהלכנו לישון שמענו רעשים מחדרים ליד, טריקות דלת, צעדים, ואת הטלוויזיה של השכנים שלנו. למזלנו ארזנו אטמים, אבל בלי זה כנראה שלא היינו מצליחים להירדם, אז לקחת בחשבון למי שרגיש לרעש.

Magnifique ! Le onsen est incroyable avec une vue imprenable sur le Mont Fuji et le lac ! Charme complétement désuet - kitsch mais tellement charmant ! Nous avons adoré ! Petit hic, certaines chambres sont fumeuses et nous avons hérités d'une chambre anciennement fumeuse. Pas évident l'odeur.

Hôtel magnifique et super bien situé! Les chambres sont belles et grandes (nous avions opté pour les chambres style japonaises) avec une très belle vue sur le lac. Super onsen au dernier étage et chouette salle de jeux (kicker et billard) + bar avec une belle déco ancienne très élégante.

Great location overlooking the lake & Mt Fuji behind the hotel. Good facilities including traditional onsen, observation tower to look at Mt Fuji & the lake, also have a bar with pool tables & other games. Rooms are neat and tidy, nothing glamourous but simple and comfortable. Excellent traditional Japanese breakfast.

Piękny hotel z historią. Wzięliśmy tradycyjny japoński pokój i to był strzał w dziesiątkę. Hotel ma łaźnię (uwaga dla kobiet i mężczyzn osobno) z widokiem na Fuji. Hotel posiada też bilard, bar i inne gry. Fajne zaskoczenie z bezpłatnym shuttle busem na stację.

Nie są zbyt elastyczni jeśli chodzi o późniejszy check out (nawet 30min).

7人家族旅行で、急な予約でも宿泊できた。

コテージ宿泊となったが、お風呂は隣のホテルまで歩いてゆくロケーションであった。 豪雨の中移動が必要で、風呂上がりに宿泊コテージまでゆく間に、足下、浴衣が汚れた。 コテージの作りは木造で古く、階段を歩くとギシギシ音が鳴る。 二階のトイレは鍵がかけられない。

Overall, we had a very positive experience at this hotel. Yes, the property is somewhat outdated, as other reviews have mentioned, but this did not bother us. In fact, we found it comfortable and charming. The location by the lake was absolutely beautiful and perfect for enjoying Kawaguchiko. We loved our large room, which had a wonderful view of the lake. The futons were also incredibly comfortable, and we slept very well. The onsen was another highlight. As a female guest, I often had the women's onsen completely to myself, which made the experience even more relaxing. We also really enjoyed the breakfast—it felt homemade, traditional and authentic.

The only negative was our first impression when we arrived before check-in and wanted to leave our luggage at the hotel. We had to walk for around 10 minutes from the station because the shuttle service only runs after the 3 p.m. check-in time. Unfortunately, the young man at reception was not particularly friendly when we arrived. However, after checking in, all the other staff members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming. Despite the slightly outdated facilities and the less-than-warm first impression, we really enjoyed our stay and loved the overall experience.

Staff explained how everything works around here. Great breakfast experience. Multiple dishes of good food served in a hall with a nice lake view. Vintage decor. Bathhouse with a view of Mt. Fuji. I enjoyed the traditional room.

The location and the view were excellent. The hotel is right on the beach, so it's possible to go for a walk or a swim. There are shops nearby, and the gold mine museum is only 5 minutes walk away as well. The hotel looks like it's been newly renovated and has western-style beds. For such a small hotel it even has 2 (private) onsen baths, which are amazing after a long day of sight-seeing.

Booking.com's details on the hotel were incorrect, which caused a lot of problems. The room DOES NOT have 2 beds, it only has 1 double bed, which was not an option as I was travelling with a family member. Luckily the hotel staff were very fast to reply on LINE app (LINE contact details stuck on the front door) and could bring a futon. The hotel staff were SUPERB in helping to sort out this problem! Booking.com on the other hand were atrocious! The only way to contact them (in english) was via an international phone number, then it was 20 minutes arguing with the support person, who, at best, promised a response from the incident team in the next 2 hours. This is simply not good enough - it was already very late in the day and there was no way to know if a solution could be found. They also refused to issue a refund on the spot so that we could find alternative accommodation. If it wasn't for the hotel staff, I don't know what we could have done. I WILL NEVER RELY ON BOOKING.COM AGAIN IF THERE ARE ISSUES!!! I have trusted this site to help support me in english if I ever have an issue, and the first time I did, I felt extremely let down. From now on I will use alternative sites as a preference.

Tylko budynek główny z zewnątrz ma wygląd klasyczny. Cześć gdzie są pokoje to z zewnątrz zwykły budynek, ale wewnątrz pokoje są zaaranżowane na ryokan.

非常復古的舊式洋房，不過非常乾淨，這次是為了河口湖花火節訂的，位置非常好，就在飯店門口看就可以了，非常滿意！早晨面對河口湖，天氣好也感覺非常舒適，出發前在大廳吃自帶早餐還額外提供咖非，服務非常到位。

Our favorite thing at the hotel was the communal onsen spa, with mineral hot spring bath, sauna, and cold pool. The rooms are large and we had a view of Fuji. You can also see Fuji from the men’s onsen and the observation deck. Free shuttle took us to and from station. Blackout shutters on the windows.

Room smelled a little musty, like maybe it used to be a smoking room. Some reviews say the restaurant has a good dinner but when we tried to have dinner there the guy at the desk said they don’t serve dinner and referred us to a nearby bakery/restaurant. Bed mattresses less comfortable than at other hotels we stayed at in Japan but we slept pretty well.

El Onsen es espectacular, tiene unas vistas impresionantes al lago. Las instalaciones son de los años 50 pero muy lujosas. El futón y toda la experiencia completa ha sido muy positiva. Habíamos reservado una habitación con baños compartidos y nos dieron una habitación con baño en la habitación por cortesía.

El olor de la habitación, quizás es porque antes estaría permitido fumar. Las instalaciones antiguas.

Beautiful property. Covenient location, close to many restaurants and convenience stores. Ample parking space. The hotel overlooks the lake and has scenic views of it. They have a deck to see Mount Fuji. But if it is cloudy, the mountain would not be visible from anywhere in the town. They serve a lavish Japanese breakfast which you have to reserve in advance. It’s worth the price, experience and taste. The staff is considerate and hospitable.

The cottage was spacious and worked well for us as a group of six. The location was convenient, and having a separate cottage gave us plenty of space. We also appreciated the traditional Japanese atmosphere, which was charming and gave the stay a more authentic feel.

Unfortunately, the overall experience was much worse than we expected. The biggest problem was the extremely strong smell throughout the cottage. There was a very strong chemical/mothball-like smell, combined with an intense musty and stale odor. Even the bed linen had a noticeable chemical and musty smell, despite appearing clean and white. The cottage also did not feel properly cleaned. The carpets were visibly dirty and stained, and there were several areas of discoloration on the walls and around the floors and corners. Overall, the cottage felt poorly maintained and insufficiently ventilated. We were travelling with two young children and arrived very late, so we decided to stay for the one night we had booked. Had we arrived earlier and had a realistic opportunity to find alternative accommodation, we would not have stayed and would have immediately asked for another room.

施設は古いですが、部屋はきれいにリノベーションされており、とても快適に過ごせました。 目の前の河口湖の眺めもとても美しかったです。 また、急な予約でしたが電話での応対も親切で好感を持てました。

男性の大浴場は上層階にあり眺望は良い(方角的に富士山は見えませんが目の前の河口湖が美しいです)のですが、朝などは風呂の中が外の通りから見えている気がするので、ガラスに何かフィルムなど貼ったらいいと思います。

昨年に続きお盆時期に宿泊させて頂きました。驚いたことに昨年に比べスタッフも若返り館内も比べ物にならないくらい綺麗になってきもちのよいたいざいができました。

起こさないでくださいとかのドアプレートがあれば良いかと思いました。白人系の方々も多いようでしたので。

大浴場も広々としていて素晴らしかったです。部屋の中のバスルームも改装されていて使いやすかったです。朝食もとても豪華で大満足でした。エントランスやロビーやBarも趣があって素敵でした。

少し気になったのですが、お部屋まで荷物を運んでくれた外国人スタッフの方がなぜかエレベーター前ので靴を脱いで靴下のまま廊下を歩いてお部屋まで案内して下さり、廊下は土足エリアなのになぜかなあと思っていたら、廊下を歩いてきた靴下のままひょいと部屋に上がって部屋の設備の説明をして下さいました…。それならば私たちと同じように部屋まで靴のまま歩いてきて部屋の土間で靴を脱いで部屋に上がって欲しかったなあと思います。部屋にはもうお布団も敷いてあったのでその横を廊下を歩いてきた靴下のまま歩かれているのが少し嫌でした。今でも謎です。

It's an old hotel and it gives a nice character to the place but the rooms are far from spotlessly clean. Toilets are clean though.

Świetny widok z okna (jeziorko) i lokalizacja - niedaleko deptaka, wypożyczalni rowerów, sklepów i restauracji. Shuttle bus - świetna usługa bezpłatna i kawa codziennie rano. No i rewelacyjna atmosfera obiektu, który gościł cesarską rodzinę. Sala balowa do gry w bilarda też na wielki plus. Bo i obserwatorium na szczycie hotelu - udało się uchwycić piękno góry Fuji. Przesympatyczna obsługa.

W pokoju około godziny 22 leciała już tylko letnia woda. Drzwi do poszczególnych pokoi też były liche, wystarczyłoby mocniej pchnąć, aby się otwarły.

Very quaint traditional Japanese hotel on the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko. 10 mins walk from the station. Ask for a corner room with view of both the lake and Mt Fuji. Tatami rooms have everything you need, and they had the most comfortable futons I have ever slept on. Breakfasts were traditional Japanese and they gave us something new each day, with an explanation of what it was and in some cases how to cook it. The onsen was great with a beautiful view of Mt Fuji, but you can't see it when sitting in the water (for modesty reasons). The staff's English was generally OK, they tried hard to communicate and were very pleasant.

The shuttle bus to the station only runs at certain times, be sure to confirm this before you arrive. (you can easily get a taxi for $7 from the station so it's not that big of a deal).

Nicht gefallen, ist nicht ganz richtig. Das Hotel ist im japanischen Stil, somit keine Schuhe im Zimmer und Gepäck muss auch im Vorraum bleiben. Muss man einfach wissen, finde ich.

We loved the location. It was right on the lake and very easy to walk to the popular shopping and dining locations. The hotel cleanliness is good. The staff is way above average in guest service.

The hotel is aging and is need of some freshening up. It feels as though it is stuck in the 1980’s in a lot of furnishings.

Very helpful and friendly staff. I really enjoyed the experience of traditional breakfasts there and coffee served after it. We could also use free transfer from station to hotel which was very convenient. Beautiful place, views, atmosphere. Thank you all for your hospitality 🙏🏻❤️. We will recommend this place to our friends.

Bien ubicado y un cierto toque vintage q en algunos espacios lo hace especial

Parece que extraño q hasta las 3 de la tarde no hay prácticamente servicio … y la salida a las 10 es un tanto precipitada … hotel bonito pero necesita un repaso general … mucha naftalina y olor a rancio por la humedad y demás … necesita mucha ventilación . En definitiva … que precisa de un replanteo … al menos a ojo de un europeo .

The only place to get coffee is in the lobby, as there’s no coffee machine in the room. Some of the furniture is old and needs minor repairs.

品のあるレトロで素敵なホテルでした。 館内を見て回るのがたのしかったです！ 昭和30年ごろは天皇陛下、昭和天皇が訪れていたようです。納得です。 一階のお部屋でしたが河口湖もばっちり見えてロケーションも非常に良かったです。スタッフの方もみなさん丁寧に接してくださり心が温まりました。 朝食もとても美味しかったです。お食事は絶対につけたほうが良いです。 また泊まりに行きたいと思いました。

The view, the staff and the breakfast were all amazing. Nice facilities and the staff does anything for you to make you comfortable.

It is a shame that the hot springs upstairs are not accessible with underwear of some sort. Not everyone is comfortable fully naked. For that same reason I didn't use it and for that same reason I will not give my stay a 10/10, but a 9/10.

ホテル側には特にないが、外国人の大浴場利用はもう少し説明があった方がいいと思います。 女性側でスリッパをロッカーに入れて、鍵はロッカーの上に置き、浴衣は浴室内入ってすぐのプラスチック椅子に置いて…とハチャメチャな使い方でした。 白人女性2人にアジア系の女性が説明している様子だったので、敢えて声かけもしませんでしたが気の毒に感じました。

The location and the first impression of the old style. The traditional Breakfast was great.

The were told that our youngest of 4 was to young for the (traditional) breakfast they provide. She only got a yoghurt and we had to share our meals. That is normally not a big deal, but the breakfast is really measured for one person (and not a big eater) At least they could have provided an extra egg, vegetables, fruit or something. Without us explicitly asking for it everyday. We had the traditional tatami rooms and if you stay with 4 persons one will by laying right in front of the airconditioning unit on the floor, that was full of dust (we asked to have it cleaned and they did, but it should have been clean in the first place) So we had to turn it of, but in summer with hot temperatures at night thats not do able. So we al slided to one side resulting in laying in the "gap" between futons. Also there was more dust on planks en other spaces. The hotel could use some fresh paint in certain areas. But that didnt bother us that much. The personnel in the restaurant really was friendly and helpful. On the last day after two days of great traditional breakfast. We were surprised that we got a carton box with some bread. And the the options besides it was way to little.

The hotel is a beautiful example of grand traditional japanese style and service.   Interior areas could use a light refresh, but very clean.   A great location with lake views, 900 m to the rail/bus station, 500m to the Ropeway and restaurants.  Room was a family tatami, huge for us 4, very clean, needing a light refresh with an older garden view and Fuji if you open the window and lean out.  Service is very good.  On-site pool tamlble and table soccer. All breakfast options are excellent with plenty to eat.  The Onsen is amazing, lucky to see Fuji when we were there! 

Light refresh of interior areas and room. I dont expect an 8.5 rated hotel to need refreshing.

L'état de la chambre, vieillot, le wifi très mauvais. C'était cher payé pour ce que c'était. J'ai été déçue. D'autant plus que j'aurais payé moins cher si j'avais pris ma chambre à la dernière minute. Pas de repas, pas de petit déjeuner, pas de vélo à disposition ..... mais plutôt bien situé.

Le personnel était au petits soins, la grandeur des chambres, le onsen, la petite cuisine (micro-onde et glace), le shuttle pour la gare, la salle de bain dans les chambres

HÔTEL dans son jus , mais cela lui donne son charme et son authenticité et aux prestations excellentes.Le petit dejeuner etait excellent et bien copieux pour demarrer ma journée Tout etait parfait , merci pour cet agréable séjour.

Old style real Japanese hotel

Chambre Ryokan 4 futons au sol belle expérience. Le Onsen est très agréable et bien équipé avec un bassin d’eau froide. Pas vraiment de vue sur le mont Fuji lorsque lon est dans le bassin mais debout presque de la vitre vous pourrez le voir. Produits d’hygiène en libre service et de qualité. Il serait bien de mettre des serviettes à disposition plutôt que de devoir prendre celle de la chambre. Le peignoir japonais pour se rendre au Onsen est fournit en chambre est très agréable. Le prix du petit déjeuner est très élevé 19€. Aussi cher qu’en occident. Manque de place pour les bagages si vous êtes 4. Wc dans la douche, ça n’est pas pratique si vous êtes 4.

Wunderbares Frühstück, traumhaft schönes Zimmer mit Blick zum Fuji und zum See, sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Der Onsenbereich war super.

Da fällt mir gar nichts ein.

La struttura ha un suo fascino unico e particolare, la sua storia e tradizione sono evidenti. Lo staff è molto accogliente e gentile, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. La colazione giapponese abbondante e graditissima come esperienza. L’onsen meraviglioso.

Sono rimasta delusa che abbiamo avuto una stanza con letti normali e non in stile giapponese. In generale la stanza era pulita, solo che c’erano molto macchie sui muri (immagino le zanzare uccise visto che sono numerose). L’arredamento andrebbe ammodernato.

Nos ha encantado este alojamiento. Es una hotel antiguo, con decoración antigua que nos encantó, algo diferente. Estuvimos en una habitación de estilo japonés y para nosotros fue todo un acierto. Era una estancia amplia y decorada con un gusto sobrio; si que se nota el paso del tiempo en el mobiliario pero no nos importó. Genial poder disfrutar del onsen hasta las 12 de la noche y a partir de las cinco de la mañana. Madrugar nos permitió ver el Monte Fuji, y nos sentimos muy afortunados por ello! Que decir del desayuno japonés, una delicia. Las dos señoras que se encargan de servirlo son una ricura, de verdad, amables, serviciales... Verlas disfrutar de su trabajo nos pareció un regalo. El resto del staff, amabilísimo tambien. Quizás no sea un establecimiento super moderno y fashion pero es auténtico. Lo recomiendo al 100%

Aunque el precio es elevado, lo pagué con mucho gusto, así que en mi opinión, no encuentro nada malo en este alojamiento. Ojalá poder volver!

Merci pour cet accueil ! Tout le personnel est charmant et aux petits soins. Merci beaucoup de m'avoir raccompagnée à la gare, c'était extrêmement appréciable. Les chambres japonaises sont magnifiques. J'ai beaucoup aimé le tatamis, le lit, le petit salon et la vue sur le lac. Et que dire de l'onsen... Une superbe expérience. J'aurais aimé rester plus longtemps !

Locatie was mooi. Personeel was aardig.

Her was echt niet schoon. Beschimmelde douchegordijn en heel erg vies tapijt. In de badkamer ruik je rooklucht.

Location, near the lake, perfect for walks around the lake and great views of Mount Fuji even from the window. The breakfast is amazing-Japanese style, the serving ladies are brilliant, very friendly and positive 😊 Hotel provides the shuttle bus which is convenient, and if corse the Onsen is amazing with the sauna and cold plunge pool !

There is no noise isolation unfortunately

Todo fue excelente, ubicación excelente, instalaciones súper bien conservadas, vista inmejorable y el desayuno de película 🎉🎉👌
