The room was very clean and well maintained

I am vegetarian and there were quite a few options. The only kink was it was hard to find the steel cut data the frst day. My other suggestion is the room layout, I wish one of the sinks existed inside the bathroom. The challenge was - when one wakes up early they would end up waking everyone

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Southgate Hotel übernachtet und waren begeistert. Man fühlt sich direkt wohl. Das Zimmer ist sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Das Frühstück können wir nicht bewerten, da wir bereits sehr früh zum Nationalpark gefahren sind. Der Ort ist insgesamt auch sehr schön und es gibt einige gute Restaurants und Cafés in der Nähe. Bis zum South Entrance des Nationalparks fährt man ca. 30 Minuten. Wir würden das Hotel immer wieder buchen.

Wir waren als Familie im Yosemite Southgate Hotel und hatten ein Doppelzimmer. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und renoviert, mit viel Platz und einem kleinen Kühlschrank. Die Lage war gut, um die Umgebung anzusehen, das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat uns viele Tipps und Ratschläge für den Nationalpark gegeben. Alles bestens!

Das Frühstück hatte wenig Auswahl und leider kein Wasser zum trinken, was etwas schade war.

空调略吵，不过睡觉的时候可以关，温度也还行。 离Yosemite西/北入口有段距离。

Clean, modern room and very friendly staff! The pool was definitely the highlight for our daughter. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back!

The breakfast was a little limited and repetitive by European standards, but overall our stay was very pleasant.

Accueil minimal, chambres bruyantes (Clim) et le pire petit déjeuner de nos 12 jours de Road trip! Très très peu de variété! Pour notre seconde nuit sur place nous avons changé d’hôtel et avons séjourné au Best Western: bcp mieux d’un point de vue des petits déjeuners

Accomodatie was zoals omschreven.

Kamer was relatief gehoren (bovenburen kun je horen lopen, omdat de houten vloer dan piept). Verder vond ik het jammer dat de wasserij betaald was en ik daar cash voor nodig had. Ik heb 2,5 week geen cash nodig gehad in Amerika, en voor een paar kwartjes moest ik naar een ATM. Dit vind ik voor 2026 wel wat ouderwets, hier kan het hotel nog in vernieuwen wat mij betreft. Ik heb niet bij ieder hotel gewassen, dus het zou niet eerlijk zijn om dit hotel daarop af te rekenen, maar ik vond het onnodig veel gedoe om hier een was te draaien.

Spacious room for family of 4. Great help at frontdesk: excellent advise on trip planning. Great brisket dinner opposite hotel at Smokehouse 41. Easy parking in front of hotel. Did not use the pool. Okay-ish breakfast. Perfect stop.

We booked this hotel for two nights and even called while we were on the road to confirm that everything was okay with our reservation and room. We were told everything was ready and we could come. When we arrived around 10:30 PM, our room smelled extremely strongly of cigarette smoke. We immediately went to the front desk, and the staff checked the room themselves and confirmed the smell. Unfortunately, there were no other rooms available. We were told that the manager and housekeeping would not arrive until at least 8:00 AM. The proposed solution was to sleep in the smoke-filled room, then remove our belongings in the morning, wait for housekeeping to clean it or possibly move us to another room. This also meant sacrificing a significant part of our morning and changing our plans for the national park, where most visitors leave early for hiking. The only other option was to find another hotel ourselves at 10:30 PM, which is what we had to do. We understand that a hotel can be fully booked, but the complete lack of a reasonable alternative and consideration for our time was extremely disappointing. After a long drive, we were left to solve the hotel’s problem ourselves late at night. I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you are traveling with children or pets or have early plans for the national park.

Bien qu’inclus , le petit déjeuner manquait de variété je trouve . La piscine est assez petite et était tout le temps pleine pendant notre séjour .

La posizione è’ ottima per visitare Mariposa Grove ed è’ in una piccola cittadina attrezzata. La colazione è’ basica ed i posti a sedere sono limitati . Bella la piscina esterna.

Really limited breakfast...not much of a choice and the same every day....we stayed 4 days and it was the exact same every day.

Staff, accommodations, amnesties, pool, breakfast, size of room.

The staff were fantastic throughout our stay. A special mention to Cliff, who was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to give us lots of advice about Yosemite National Park, including the best route to take, which entrance to use, and even where my wife in the passenger seat should film from to get the best views. His recommendations really enhanced our visit. The continental breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice as well as hot options and constantly maintained. The staff member worked extremely hard. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, comfortable and gave us a great night's sleep. We also appreciated being able to park our car for free directly outside our room, which made loading and unloading very easy. The laundry facilities were excellent, and although we didn't use them, it was nice to have a pool, steam room and sauna available. There were also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, making it a really convenient base for exploring Yosemite

The hotel is starting to feel a little dated in places and could benefit from some refreshing. Our room also wasn't as clean as we would have expected—we found a toenail on the bathroom floor when we arrived, which wasn't a great first impression. We also found the bathroom layout quite unusual. There was no sink or mirror in the bathroom itself; both were located outside in the main room. This made getting ready a little awkward, particularly for my wife. Unfortunately, our stay wasn't especially quiet either. We could hear very heavy footsteps from the room above, which at times sounded like a herd of elephants and disturbed our sleep.

Took our granddaughter on a trip to Yosemite and found this gem in Oakhurst. Room was beautifully appointed, clean and the customer service was exceptional. Would definitely stay here again!

We had to end our trip early because of a family emergency. At approximately 1:00 PM on July 23, 2026, we left our room, returned the room key to the front desk, and asked for written confirmation that we had left the hotel early. The night before, I had already contacted Trip.com, the booking platform I used, and was informed that our prepaid reservation was nonrefundable. I understood and accepted that. To be absolutely clear, at no point during my interaction with the front desk did I ask for a refund or compensation. My only request was written confirmation that we had returned the room key and left the hotel. The front desk clerk insisted that she could not check us out because our reservation remained active until the following day. I told her that I understood. However, because we were leaving the hotel and returning the room key, I asked only for written confirmation that the key had been returned and that we were no longer occupying the room. I explained that this was for security and record-keeping purposes. Since the reservation would remain active overnight even though we had already left, I wanted clear documentation that we had returned the room key and were no longer occupying the room. If any safety issue, unauthorized or illegal activity, or other incident occurred in the room after our departure, there would be a record showing that we had already surrendered the key and left the property. Unfortunately, the clerk repeatedly interrupted me and continued talking about the hotel’s no-refund policy, even after I clearly explained several times that I was not asking for any money. In a condescending manner, she told me twice, “I don’t think you understand what I mean.” In fact, she was the one who continued to disregard and misunderstand what I was actually requesting. I am Asian, and my partner has a lighter complexion. Her behavior changed immediately and noticeably when he entered the lobby. He repeated the same request I had already explained—that we only needed written confirmation that the room key had been returned. Unlike her response to me, she spoke to him politely, was noticeably more accommodating, and then agreed to type a letter. Even in the letter she eventually provided, she continued to disregard our actual request. The letter did not confirm that we had returned the room key. It merely stated that we had “decided to check out by 1 PM” and then again emphasized that no refund was available—an issue I had never disputed and had already confirmed with Trip.com the night before. I have attached a redacted photo of the letter provided by the hotel. As shown, it does not confirm that the room key was returned. Instead, it focuses primarily on the no-refund policy. The letter therefore still failed to provide the simple confirmation I had requested. It appeared that the clerk was more focused on repeating her own position about refunds than listening to and addressing our actual concern. No guest dealing with a family emergency should have to endure such dismissive and condescending treatment over such a reasonable request. I hope hotel management reviews this incident and provides appropriate customer-service training. Based on this experience, I would not choose to stay at Yosemite Southgate Hotel again.

The location is fabulous and it's clearly all set up for families who want to visit Yosemite. The laundry facilities are a real bonus.

There was no lounge just a breakfast area. There is no bar or any other food available other than breakfast or vending machines. You can however use the coffee machine all day which I did not initially realise.

The bathroom was generally clean but still there were somebody’s hairs. Coffee at breakfast was so-so. If you have special food preferences, do not rely much on what is provided here in the morning

Skvělá lokalita, milý personál. Ocenili jsme bazén a saunu zdarma a lednici s mikrovlnkou na pokoji. Snídaně byla ok, z polotovaru. Celkově velmi pěkné.

Ein tolles, authentisch amerikanisches Hotel direkt am Eingang des Yosemite Nationalparks im schönen Oakhurst mit super freundlichem Personal.

Das Frühstück lies leider wirklich zu wünschen übrig. McDonald's Cheeseburger-Level Pattys, billiges, schmieriges Rührei, übersüßter synthetischer Saft aus einem Automat und Toast. Kein Aufschnitt, kein Obst, nicht einmal Pancakes, Bacon oder sonst etwas. Das ist selbst für Amerikanische Verhältnisse unbefriedigend.

Great hotel with plenty of space and plenty of parking. Pool, sauna and steam room are available and of a good size. The air conditioning is good but very loud so if you need a cold room and night and it to be quite I'd avoid but for me I had it on during the day while I was out and off at night and had no issues as the beds are very comfortable.
