The location was great, cloaw to everything. The staff was wonderful. We enjoyed having a room with garden access.

The pillows were too big, it felt like the head was at a 45 degree angle. That is really the only complaint I have.

Beautiful setting and lovely room. Breakfast was great! Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent. The only challenge was the lack of a lift on our side of the hotel (the Botanical room) but we managed. Just across from the castle and down the street from some amazing restaurants.

Absolutely luxurious! Phenomenal view of gardens, very spacious family room. Large bathroom with tub that filled extraordinarily fast. Coffee house in garden. Loved the immediate access to castle and shops. Breakfast was exquisite!!!!!!

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was good. Appreciated the parking on site. Outdoor garden area was very nice.

Furnishings were tacky, old, cheap , uncomfortable and outdated. Carpeting very old; chairs in room old and uncomfortable. Minimal furnishings for size of room. No surfaces to put things on ; just one small luggage rack. Bathroom old and no counter space, needs modernization. Lobby area uninviting.

The bathroom was the typical minimal style you see a good bit in older renovated facilities in Europe and surrounding areas. The staff was great and the location the best.

Front desk staff - Patricia and Daniel - were lovely!! Takeaway breakfast at check-out was a great alternative since we departed before dine-in service started. Location far exceeded expectations On property parking really made the difference We'll be back AND stay long enough to enjoy a proper dine-in meal

Perfect location in Kilkenny. We had a superior room for our family of 4 on the top floor looking at the castle. Gardens were peaceful and added to the ambience. On-site parking in their backlot was a huge plus!

The location is great….the breakfast was enjoyable..good quality and well presented

The room we were allocated was on the lower ground floor, no natural light and decorated in such a way that the room was dark and uninviting. The room was advertised as having a 'city view’. The only view from the two prison-like small windows was onto a brick wall covered in a fake ivy or similar plant! The room had not been dusted...cobwebs on the windows inside and outside and the hairdryer did not work! Access to the windows to open them for some fresh air was difficult and impractical.

The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. There was on-site parking which we didn't expect, and all of the staff were amazing (check-in, check-out, breakfast team). The location was perfect in that we could walk anywhere but the hotel was slightly off the main strip. At check-in, Daniel provided us a dinner option that proved to be the best meal we had in all of Ireland. (Zunis).

The only room available when we arrived was a pet-friendly room, but that's our fault for arriving a bit later than we expected. We didn't notice a single trace of a pet, but not being pet owners, it seemed weird to sleep in a room that housed various other pets. This had no impact on our wonderful stay.

Confort and Space. Very good breakfast

we had booked a garden view room and we got a room which had no view on the garden, very Little Light coming from the Windows. To avoid any argument, see the picture. To say the least it was misleading and if we had known that we could end up with such a room we would have never booked it.

L'albergo era pieno di opere d'arte, quasi un museo. La stanza era spaziosissima e molto curata. Il giardino è una piccola perla e anche questo era costellato di installazioni d'arte.

Il bagno, separato dalla stanza, ha prima vista sembrava un'ottima cosa, ma in realtà non è stato così funzionale.

Very clean and well maintained, staff was very nice and accommodating for any needs that came up. Breakfast was very good! We loved the garden area.

Room was warm and a bit stuffy bc it is August and although not overly hot outside the room was quite warm we opened a window for a time but o didn’t want bugs to come in overnight. There was a fan in the room but it wasn’t working too well.

Staff were very accommodating and professional. Food was very good. Grounds were beautiful.

No air conditioning made it uncomfortable. Noisy street and pub out our window.

Le point fort de cet hôtel est clairement les personnes qui travaillent à la réception. Elles sont accueillantes, souriantes et prévenantes. Cet établissement est très bien situé, proche du château et bénéficie d'un cadre très agréable.

La chambre qui nous a été attribuée est très petite et vieillissante. Il y faisait très chaud (la chambre est dans les toits) et il était impossible d'ouvrir la fenêtre en grand, celle-ci étant défectueuse. Impossible d'y dormir correctement. Nous avons dû aller à la réception pour avoir un ventilateur, celui placé dans la chambre fonctionnant à peine. La réceptionniste a fait ce qu'elle pouvait pour nous aider. Mais au vu du prix élevé que nous avons payé, nous nous attendions à beaucoup mieux que ça.

Leider hatten wir beim Frühstück das Pech, von einer Mitarbeiterinn bediehnt zu werden, welche wahrscheinlich mit sich selber Probleme hat. So etwas von unfreundlich haben wir noch gar nie erlebt. Sie hat es leider fertig gebracht, dass uns die Lust zum Frühstück vergangen ist. Unser Tip, zuerst schauen wie diese Person gelaunt ist👎👎 Schade, das Hotel wäre def. ein Besuch wert.

Fan too small

The hotel is located in the extended castle grounds. Thus, you have the castle, the castle's gardens, the stables (now shopping units), the hotel's gardens and the hotel. The building looks like a medieval palace with beautiful gardens and in an excellent location in the center of town, being on a side street which made it even better. I loved having dinner at the gardens. the staff (Fay) was really great accommodating this request (dinner was supposed to be inside). It was a wonderful way to end the day after much sightseeing around town.

I did not like the view from the room. In fact, there was no view. The room was supposed to have a 'city view'; however, it was under street level / basement and the view from the two small windows was a slab of cement with pipes and cables. There was some fake leaves partially covering the cement slab. I requested a change of rooms but I was told the hotel was fully booked. I contacted Booking and they contacted the property. Some time later, the hotel staff told us Booking had tried to contact them but they could not connect; regardless, she gave us a courtesy refund of about 20% of the cost which was appreciated and I felt compensated for the bad taste left by the room lack of view. In addition, Booking followed up the next day asking for documents upload to address the case. I contacted them, sent the documents and informed them that the hotel had processed a courtesy refund at which time had not reached my credit card. Next, I got a credit from Booking of about 15%+ of the cost and the hotel's courtesy refund was reflected in my credit card. I have to say that Booking came thru and it was easy to reach out and talk to a person over the phone. I'll continue using Booking as long as the customer care continues at this level of responsiveness. Thank you.

Such gorgeous gardens and you can walk through the garden to Kilkenny castle. Amazing history here, and really well kept. The scones were amazing, cream tea ♥️ Service was really great, breakfast was delicious. Short walk to medieval area, truly just perfect. Thank you for such a great stay!
