Kilkenny Pembroke Hotel

Breakfast was delicious! Staff are super friendly, kind, and helpful. Beds are big and comfortable and the Castle view was breathtaking. Ideal location in downtown Kilkenny- walking distance to everything.

Not much super hot water, and no mini fridge.

The breakfast was exceptional. The scrambled eggs and smoke salmon were my favorite

The staff was very nice when we arrived. The hotel was clean, and our rooms were comfortable. We had an amazing view of the castle outside our room window. Location was excellent for shopping and sites.

There are so many wonderful things to love about this hotel. The staff truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and ensure you have everything you need. Our room was terrific, and the breakfast was amazing—seriously, it felt gourmet! The location is fabulous as well. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

The only thing that didn’t quite meet my expectations was the bed. It was a little too firm for my taste. I’m sure a lot of people would love it, but personally, I prefer a softer mattress. That said, it certainly wouldn’t keep me from recommending the hotel!

Great location to be able to walk to everything. Bus dropped us from Dublin airport literally across the street from the hotel. So convenient.

The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.

Room 207. The one window was about 24 inches wide so the room had practically no natural light. The “dressing room” area had only a dim motion sensor light, kept turning off. The bathroom sink didn’t drain. The dinner was very good with good service, the breakfast very disappointing. Poor service, long wait, disorganized.

The breakfasts were really excellent. The hotel had switched from buffet to menu-choice breakfasts, which I found worked very well and gave a superior experience. The staff were especially friendly, efficient, and helpful.

Location fab for a family reunion. Central for people coming from Dublin airport and within Ireland from Kildare, Wexford and Dublin. Kilkenny is a beautiful city.

This was a wonderful place to stay. All staff from check in to wait staff were super helpful and went above and beyond! Food and drink were superb. It was also walkable to many things. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Nestled conveniently downtown, the Pembroke was an excellent stay for us. Front desk staff was very attentive and friendly. Gated parking behind the hotel was extremely convenient as I don't know where else we would have parked in the city. Our room was a triple, which meant three twin size beds: a little unusual, but it did the trick for the night. Air conditioning worked extra well, which was great considering how hot Ireland was when we visited. Overall, an excellent stay.

Wir hatten ein Triplezimmer zum Innenhof raus, was auch gut war, da es ruhig war. Das Zimmer war groß und sauber. Die Möbel sind nicht mehr ganz neu. Betten sehr bequem. Leckeres reichhaltiges Frühstück.

Frühstück nur á la Carte so viel man möchte. Kein Buffet.

Great location for a stay in kilkenny. Have stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed. A gem in the heart of kilkenny.

We had no trouble driving here after landing at Dublin at midday. Excellent, safe parking, great reception and a STUNNING adjoining room suite for us and our adult kids with their 9 month old. The automated lighting and shades were very luxurious. Spa-like bath room, mid-century modern sofa area with huge panoramic windows views of the city and Kilkenny Castle. Centered in the heart of town but so quiet. We kept ourselves awake until 8pm and then slept 12 hours…even the baby! Splendid breakfast in the dining room…all in all, it was like a spa recovery day and we didn’t even get to try their spa!

I'm sure I'd have loved this hotel at any time of the year, but I do have to preface this review by noting that the air con in the room was nice and cold. I hate that I now have to check on air con whilst traveling in the summer, even in Ireland, but here we are. Still, there's so much more to recommend this hotel than *just* air con. The staff is friendly, professional, and highly welcoming. My mum and I had just flown into Dublin early in the morning and booked an early check-in, which we received as promised. In the meantime, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast with great breakfast tea in the bistro. The room was incredibly comfortable and had a great view of the castle. It was an ideal refuge after a hot day walking around. The location was ideal, especially for the bus stop if one is traveling that way. Everything in town is also just minutes away. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, especially in the summer when such cool and comfortable rooms are not always easy to find in a country that never used to get such heatwaves.

Good breakfast. Reasonable choice of cooked breakfast. No choice of cereals. One received granola yogurt and fruit compote or nothing. The cooked fry is delicious. Good room with excellent bed but it was a superior room and pricey enough. Has some parking on site. Had a very good dinner and wine here.

This hotel is right in the middle of town. The breakfast was lovely, the staff pleasant and helpful and the room was spacious. It was spotless!

Paid for included breakfast when I booked the hotel. And it certainly wasn’t cheap. Was disappointed to find out the breakfast restaurant was not open until 8 am. Was given a croissant and apple with a side of yogurt. 8 am opening should have been well documented prior to collecting customers money. For busy travellers with flights to catch and busy vacation schedules to keep an 8 am start time is not reasonable. Every other hotel we stayed at opened at 6 or 6:30 am😠

We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in a Suite. The hotel overall was almost perfect. Beautifully maintained, excellent AC, great room lighting, opening windows for fresh air, exceptional quality breakfast, secure parking and endearing and lovely staff. One area of advice would be to assist customers with selection of which suite to stay in would be to tell them the Killkenny Suite is near the kitchen exhaust and if the windows are open the smell is apparent.

A fantastic time was had in the wonderful Pembroke. The staff at reception were so friendly and welcoming. The suite was stunning with great views over the city. We had dinner in the hotel and no surprise it was first class, highly recommend. The staff in both the bar and restaurant were very attentive. If you do venture out the hotel is located in the middle of Kilkenny city so shops, bars and restaurants are in easy walking distance.

Absolutely wonderful hotel right in the heart of Kilkenny. Stay in one of the stunning 4th floor suites and you’re looking straight out at Kilkenny Castle. This honestly feels like a 5 Star hotel! it is exceptionally clean, modern, the service without exception was friendly, warm and professional. Dinner and breakfast was really high quality using local suppliers. I honestly could not find a single thing wrong with the hotel. I saw the owner speaking with a group and it’s always good to see the proprietor on the floor. Clearly takes pride in a wonderful hospitality offering.

We had a fantastic stay at the Pembroke Hotel and can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, every member of staff was so friendly, welcoming and genuinely couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is beautifully designed throughout and everything is finished to such a high standard. We were also delighted to be upgraded to an incredible room for a special birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our room was lovely and quiet, with great air conditioning and everything we needed for a really comfortable stay. Dinner in Stathams was incredible too – the food was outstanding. A wonderful hotel with amazing staff. We can't wait to come back!

Our stay at the lovely Pembroke Kilkenny was absolutely amazing. It was our best hotel stay ever! Can't say enough good things about it! From the moment we walked through the door and were greeted by the fabulous Sara and Finnian we felt so welcomed and at home in a country we had never been to before. The property is spotless, the room was just perfect. The included breakfast is delicious and the dining staff are also so very friendly, kind and accommodating. The location is fabulous, walking distance to everything in the beautiful town of Kilkenny. Thank you so much to the staff at the Pembroke for an outstanding holiday. We can't wait to return!

The property is essentially located on Patrick Street in Kilkenny. There is a parking lot with limited spaces in the back of the hotel, which is where we parked our Volvo. It can be a little challenging if Your frame of reference is big American parking lots. Checking in was relatively easy. The hotel room had that we got had three beds and it was clean and well furnished With a refrigerator, a tea kettle In an iron and ironing board. The bathtub shower is an old-fashioned Irish kind which is elevated off the floor so you have to climb him up into the tub to get in and it can be a little tricky because you May have to hold onto the :towel rack step down from the tub. Because of the Irish heat wave that we were experience experiencing during our trip the room temperature got a little warm, even though there was air-conditioning. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast twice and the food was excellent and the service was excellent. There is no gym in the hotel but they have access to some other Jim but you have to pay a fee of like €12 for a day pass. The hotel is in proximity to all the primary Kilkenny tourist attractions like Kilkenny castle. Overall, I recommend staying at the Pembroke Kilkenny hotel.

Hotel was great and staff friendly and it was an excellent central location. Food in Stathams was absolutely fantastic.

I booked an executive king room but it was quite small and even though the bed was big, it just felt like a standard room. A little disappointed as it was my partners birthday and I wanted something special. We parked in car park and when checking out the car was completely covered in sap from an overhanging tree, whole car was sticky. We said it to staff when checking out and one of the staff seemed aware of it and said it happened for 6 weeks. We asked if there was a car wash near as needed to get the car cleaned as soon as possible. They never even offered to take anything off the bill as couldn't have driven home with the car on the state it was in with heat of the sun. It was disappointing that they were aware of the sap coming off the tree in the first place and never told us when we were parking the car.

We were a party of five lady cousins coming together to celebrate the big birthdays. From the moment we arrived in Pembroke to the moment we we have never experienced such excellent customer experience. Each member of staff was so genuinely helpful and we were made to feel so welcome. Thelocation of the Pembroke is excellent we walked the whole weekend. Our dinner was included as part of the package and I have to say it was out of this world. The of the food was superb we are going back. It was so good.
