We had such a wonderful stay at Sonesta St. George Hotel during our honeymoon. The hotel prepared a lovely surprise for us, including a beautiful room upgrade and a delicious honeymoon cake, which made our stay feel even more special. A special thank you to Nardine for taking such great care of us. She was incredibly kind, gentle, thoughtful, and attentive throughout our stay. We could truly feel the care she put into making our honeymoon memorable. Thank you to Nardine and the whole team for such a warm and wonderful experience. We will definitely remember our time here fondly. 🤍

The hotel overlooking the river Nile was beautiful, especially watching sunset from the balcony. All the staff were absolutely wonderful, kind and very polite. We Enjoyed the wide spread of breakfast selection. Pool side Food & drink was great. À la carte Dinner at the Italian restaurant was delicious. The service in all areas was superb. House keeping did a great job in keeping our rooms clean every day. The beds were so comfortable to sleep on. Front of house team and customer relation were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely come back and stay in Sonesta St George again.

Nos permitieron hacer early check-in desde las 10 de la mañana sin coste extra, así como late check-out sin costo extra hasta las 5 de la tarde, esto nos pareció de lo mejor, ya que veníamos cansados de un vuelo nocturno. Contratamos servicio de transfer con el hotel y al salir del aeropuerto ya nos estaban esperando. Tienen su propia tienda de souvernis y con los precios aún mejor que en otros sitios. El buffet del desayuno estaba delicioso, con muchas opciones y huevos al gusto hechos al momento. Las camas de lo más cómodo. te regalan pantuflas. Todo el equipo super servicial y nos atendieron y explicaron todo desde nuestra llegada. ¡Hace mucho que no me hospedaba en un hotel así de excelente!

A Good property, the staff were efficient, assertive, available, personable and trustworthy to meet our needs. The infrastructure, rooms well maintained -though building works next door and major works out front on street main entrance impacted Sonesta -the staff though dedicated, professional under enduring external circumstances.

The gym equipment needs as a high priority service maintenance. Running machine belts both slipping, likely to cause injury, the rowing machine seat runners causes friction, bump effects. Servicing equipment needs to be arranged. The shower/baths fixtures/equipment in room whilst multifunctional is complicated to use and are looking dated -refurbishment -modernisation would be advantageous.

The location right on the Nile is nice, however, with so much construction in the area it was impossible to enjoy the pool area at all

There is construction inside the hotel they’re renovating rooms, and surrounding area is all under construction. The roads are wrapped up as they are preparing for The Four Seasons hotel to open up in approximately one year from now. There’s loads of noise, dust, construction workers everywhere. The pool area was terrible. There was fake grass and carpet all over the deck which looked tattered and dirty. There were black tarps, hanging all around the side of the pool likely to prevent dust from entering the pool. The pool is sunken down you cannot see anything from there. Photos on the website look much better than reality.

Rooms are a bit dated, although we know they are in the process of updating and modernizing all rooms. If you stay there you will have to tolerate some noise due to that. Also, the huge construction project of the upcoming Four Seasons hotel is affecting all hotels in the vecinity with road widening and new utilities being installed. It will go on for another 2-3 years. Not much you can do to avoid it.

The curtains are not blackout, the AC sounds LOUD and it’s difficult at the middle of the night to sleep with that sound. You can also hear the sounds of the street, there’s no sound isolation. We were expecting more

Enjoying the swimming and resting after tours was not easy as they were improving the swimming pool área and...you can imagine how much noise It means 😊

The interior of the hotel was attractive, comfortable and well maintained. The staff were warm, hospitable and genuinely eager to please, and they were easily the best part of our stay. The hotel was also conveniently located for exploring Luxor and its historic sites.

Unfortunately, the hotel was quite literally surrounded by construction work—to the front and on both sides. Our supposed side Nile view directly overlooked one of the major construction sites. The noise continued from approximately 8am until 9pm, making it impossible to relax either by the pool or in our room. The extent of the surrounding construction and disruption wasn’t made sufficiently clear when we booked. The pool also had damaged tiles, and our son cut his toe on one. Although there were several dining options, we found the quality of the food disappointing. Overall, while the hotel’s interior was pleasant, the construction made the environment anything but relaxing and seriously affected our stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sonesta St. George in Luxor. First, the staff as a whole is so warm, welcoming, professional, and helpful. I can’t fully express how amazing they are. I can’t name everyone but I will name a few people who made our stay extra special - Wahid, Mohammad, Malik (reception), Hany and Clara (travel agency/excursion booking), Elia (driver arranged by Hany who we had for three days), Nagha (Pool). The housekeeping staff was also fantastic - always available to help us with whatever we needed. Our room had a balcony and beautiful view of the Nile. Facing west, we watched several sunsets from our balcony. The location is excellent. We walked to Luxor Temple several times. There are restaurants in the hotel and also nearby and it’s easy to catch a cab in front of the hotel if you need one.

La decoración del hotel es preciosa, tiene tiendas de todo tipo, y las habitaciones son amplias y con vistas espectaculares al Nilo. Además, la comida del restaurante es deliciosa, comimos pasta y una sopa marina. Finalmente, disfrutamos de la piscina y nos engrieron con bebidas y fruta nuevamente. Definitivamente volveremos. Gracias a Mohammed por su amabilidad y calidez desde el primer contacto, y a Nardine por su consideración.

El personal fue muy amable, todos. La habitación muy cómoda y grande. La cama realmente cómoda . Solo comimos en el italiano y nos pareció muy bueno y no muy caro. El desayuno de los mejores que probamos. La zona de la piscina nos pareció excepcional. La verdad es que calidad precio me parece imbatible. Además, nos ofrecieron habitación superior sin coste. There was continual construction, jack hammers, drilling, concrete. There was a construction site inside the perimeter of the hotel and another construction site on the neighbouring block. Everywhere outside was covered in grit,the pool was dirty due to the construction grit, I could not sit outside, I could not use balcony and furniture, covered in grit and the noise from 8am in the morning until 4pm in the afternoon every single day of a two week stay. No warning, hotel offered to move my room but the noise and dusting of concrete dust everywhere remained so there was no point. The works have been going on for some time so the hotel knew but did not inform anyone, several other guests checked out after one night. I have taken videos daily

The hotel is very old and the aging is very visible in the carpets, shower frame and the pool. The room was clean but again there carpet had a stong oudor of overused cleaning products and the shower is very old school with some not so clean corners. Couple of the electric switches were lose and one not working. There was a construction by the pool which was too dusty to sit outside. despite close proximity to the Nile, couldn't sit outside and enjoy a drink or relax.

My stay at Sonesta St. George Hotel was truly exceptional. Everything exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of choices, and the staff in the restaurant were professional, friendly, and always welcoming. The reception team was outstanding, especially the kind young lady at the front desk. here name (Nardeen)ناردين Her warm smile, genuine kindness, and excellent service made us feel at home from the very first moment. If I had the chance to rate her personally, I would gladly give her 10 out of 10—and even more. She is a wonderful example of true hospitality. My sincere thanks to the entire hotel team for their outstanding hospitality and for making our stay so comfortable and memorable. God willing, whenever I visit this destination again, I will not hesitate for a moment to stay at this beautiful hotel. It will always be my first choice. Hôtel très proche de la gare de Louxor à peu près 5 minutes en taxi et 15 à pieds. Personnel très agréable, vu depuis l'hôtel très bien, piscine propre ! La plupart des temples étaient à proximité et les activités peuvent se réserver directement avec l'hôtel. Restaurant vraiment très bon ! Chambre impeccable et super confortable.

Je suis mal tombée sur une période de travaux autour de la piscine et sur la terrasse pour construire une seconde piscine donc beaucoup de bruits de travaux et de marteau piqueur toute la journée. Profiter de la piscine dans le calme n’était pas possible mais c’est pour du mieux puisque dans un mois l’hôtel proposera une seconde piscine avec vue sur le Nil.

We loved the friendly bartender at Nobel's Bar in the hotel, he was an absolute gem. We arrived late and went to the bar to watch football. We were hungry, but the restaurants had already closed. He kindly brought us chips, cheese, olives, and buns so we would have something to eat. The breakfast was lovely, and Mariam made sure we had coffee and regularly asked if we needed anything. (The men serving there simply pointed to the coffee machine when we asked about coffee.) The chef making the omelets was friendly as well. The hotel's location is excellent, and the pool area is beautiful. The housekeeping staff kept entertaining us by creating towel sculptures in our room. The Egyptian boats were our favorite!

The male staff working in the breakfast room simply pointed to the coffee machine when we asked about coffee, even though the breakfast room was not busy. Unfortunately, construction was taking place next to the pool, so it wasn't possible to enjoy the view of the Nile from the pool area. The construction noise was also unpleasant. The cocktails at the hotel were overpriced. We received a nice handwritten note from the front desk welcoming us and wishing us a pleasant stay. However, when we returned to the hotel after sightseeing, no one asked how our day had been, which I found a bit surprising for a hotel of this standard.

We had the most amazing stay at Sonesta. The rooms were incredible with amazing views. Very clen and comfortable but what really blew us away was the staff. They were all so attentive and nice.
