Die Lage ist gut, für einen Zwischenstopp auf einer Rundreise gut geeignet. Ideal für Golfer, direkt gegenüber des Cashen Course House befindet sich der Golfplatz. Wir hatten uns für das Cashen Course House entschieden, weil zu der Zeit Irish Open waren und es nur noch sehr wenige Unterkünfte in der Region gab.

Der Empfang war nicht besonders herzlich. Frühstück kostet 15 € extra pro Person und lohnt den Preis absolut nicht. Nur normaler Kaffe, kein Cappuccino o.Ä. Ganz schrecklich: Plastiktischdecken auf den Tischen des ansonsten sehr eleganten Frühstücksraums!! Das ist absolut von vorgestern. Bei einem stolzen Zimmerpreis von € 160 plus € 30 Frühstück für 2 Personen, also insgesamt € 190 für eine Übernachtung im Doppelzimmer (!!!), kann man auch bei einem B&B erwarten, dass es ordentliche Tischdecken aus Stoff gibt. Kein Kühlschrank im Zimmer, obwohl in der Beschreibung sogar eine "kitchenette with fridge" angegeben war. Im Nachhinein wunderte es uns nicht, dass es hier noch freie Zimmer gab. Schade! Hier wäre deutlich mehr drin.

I made a flying visit to Ballybunion on my tour of Ireland. Its a place dominated by the golf course and without that there's not much there. The hotel is very dated and definitely has a 90's feel. It was very quiet and I was the only one at breakfast. That said it was clean and comfortable so served its purpose for me.

The breakfast and staff were great. The location is A++. The property does not have a bar or restaurant per se, and is just a tad dated but it's perfectly adequate and in a great location.

Lovely spacious rooms, everything you would need. Welcoming staff. Fabulous views of the golf course.

The owner was very attentive to our needs and very pleasant to be around. The breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable.

Very clean and comfortable

The location is fantastic for golfers playing at Ballybunion. We had a family room with 4 beds - the room was huge, spotless and allowed our family of 3 to spread out. The bathroom was large as well. The owners were very accommodating with our later than planned evening check-in. There is also a lovely large sitting/living room area which my daughter used for studying late at night. We had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, especially for seeing north Kerry and the beautiful beaches, golf resort, sea swimming and walking areas. The warm welcome and hospitality from John and Deirdre was really wonderful. Accommodation was very clean and very well presented. Lovely cooked breakfast.

I would have liked some more options on fresh fruit and non dairy milks or yogurts

Was a little chilly in the room but weather was cold for June .There was a plug in heater which warmed the place up.

Amazing hospitality! The hosts made us a delicious breakfast for our group early in the morning before our tee time. I strongly recommend the Cashen Course House for anyone needing a quick stay before golf!

Room upstairs too hot and could only open the window a crack. Should be able to adjust central heating in the bathroom - it was just too hot. A fridge would have been nice.

It was close to town, easy drive. It was also close to where my next adventure started. If you like golf, it is across the road from Ballybunion Golf Course!

They need to give directions on how things work. I had trouble figuring out how the shower turned on.

Review for Cashen Course House – September 2025 We had a lovely stay at Cashen Course House in Ballybunion. The location is perfect — quiet but still close to the town and golf course. The room was spotless, and everything was well maintained, which made for a really comfortable stay. Having on-site parking was a big plus, especially after driving around the countryside. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, which added a personal touch to the experience. I’d definitely recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area. Would happily stay again!
