Great location I’m Santa Rosa. We attended a wedding and the staff was very accommodating with letting us drop off our car/luggage and check in later in the evening. Junior suite was spacious and comfortable.
Elevator was out of order. It appears to have been down for about a month.
Bed was comfortable, nice pillows
Looked so good in the ad, but not updated. Very 1970’s decor. Too bright, not sufficient window covers. Skid row location, felt dangerous. Room and courtyard stunk. Noisy fan, rattling all night.
The location
Needed grab bars in shower. Would have appreciated a simple continental breakfast for the price.
Beautiful old 1907 stone building and period accurate decor. Good restaurants nearby. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Quiet and confortable. chute downtown location.
Parking fee and offsite near a homeless housing building. Had to haul all belongings down the street and upstairs to the 3rd floor due to the elevator not working.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is charming, the location is fantastic, and the staff are professional and thoughtful.
The pillow are very uncomfortable and although there are extra pillows, there are no extra blankets.
I loved my room! Room 30, very spacious and comfortable!!🥰
A sweet old hotel that has been well kept up. It’s in a quiet neighborhood with nearby restaurants and is a great value.
The elevator was not working.
Staff was very courteous and helpful Provided booster to help with internet connect in our room
Unloading suitcase etc on a busy street. Trying to locate parking area a block down was confusing.
The room was gorgeous and huge. I loved the vintage vibes. Great location. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Really soft and comfortable beds.
I did not have a problem with this, but it is right by the train tracks so you can hear the trains go by. Again, didn’t bother me but might be a consideration for others.
Great location close to big red bus line walking distance to fisherman wharf, Lombard street staff great
Belle chambre spacieuse. Belle deco retro
The rooms are clean and cozy The location is perfect The beds are comfy with nice pillows and plush duvets. The people that work there are so friendly and accommodating. The old historic building is so well kept and beautiful. Grossmans cafe next door is also amazing. Such good options, good prices and absolutely delicious!
There really is nothing about hotel la rose that I don’t like
Good location. Good counter space in bathroom. Cold water bottles at front desk. Coffee shop across the street.
Decor was like 1970’s. Pillows were not comfortable. Bed and bedding should be updated for the price of the room.
The ambiance. It feels haunted
It was across the street from the train station and there were bums and tweakers screaming at night
location as usual
felty carpet with stains all over , most likely never been shampoo. very smelly . uncomfortable bed they would need to remodel big time and change the carpets all over in the carriage house
Everything!
Like going through a time warp
Parking in a general parking lot
Location was excellent. Handy for bars, restaurants, transport etc.
Would have liked even just a vending machine even in the room with the tables so a snack could be purchased 24/7 although I accept it may not be in keeping with the general feel of the building.
Fun to stay in an historical locale and I liked the location.
The restaurant downstairs was not so great.
The Queen room was small but well-appointed and clean. Very satisfied with our stay here. It was very quiet, and I enjoyed our room view from the second floor because it was lined with trees. The bathroom was larger than expected and there was plenty of water pressure in the shower. I have severe allergies and appreciated their *no pets* policy. The restaurant next door is highly rated, as is the extremely reasonably priced cafe across the street.
Some irregular activity and unhoused people on the streets nearby. However we were able to park very close to the hotel. The price was high, yet was more reasonable compared to other locations. This area of California is just very expensive in the summer...
Hotel room was GREAT, GOOD location!!
The look and feel of the old victorian building was very nice.
All good. They provided us with a hotspot when the internet coverage failed.
Cleanliness, comfort, friendly and competent staff, period decorating.
Nothing to report
The location
We were stuck upstairs in a really hott room. The air conditioning didn't really work. I couldn't sleep. And I opened my window to people right outside of it 🚬.
I was in room 30 the first two nights. I like that you can open a window (widely) to allow fresh air in the room. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating. For my third night, they showed me several alternative rooms, and they gave me a more expensive room, in their Carriage House across the street, at no additional cost. More modern, spacious complex with newer beds and sheets. Room 56 was much quieter than Room 30. Thank you!
Room 30 faces the Hwy 101 freeway, which has traffic all night long... Although I enjoyed the fresh air at night, the noise kept me awake. My preference would have been a firmer mattress. This one seemed old, and the sheets, too, were not to my personal liking. They need to be upgraded or starched or bleached or something. They supply bottled water at the front desk; however, it is in flimsy, thin 16-oz. plastic—A bottle that crumbles in your hands while drinking from it. They need to get a water purifier for the lobby and get with the program. Get rid of those plastic water bottles! And why, oh why did any hotel ever get those silly pod coffee maker units? Hideous.
Location
Broken air conditioner
I loved the historic and romantic feel! It was close to lots of lovely shops and restaurants.
I did not like having to pay for parking. That was an extra expense I was unprepared for.

Hotel La Rose is the best hotel in Santa Rosa. Stayed at various hotels and hotel la rose tops the list always. The staff are always so friendly and accomodating!! The rooms are cozy, comfortable and beautiful. It has an antique vibe to all the rooms. Grossmans restaurant next door is always amazing too. And the location is also awesome. Cute shops and restaurants just around the corner, and a short walk to downtown.
Nothing!!
Almost everything
To have breakfast included would be great.
We stay here alot but never in a room on the street. Room was very nice but on the street side so very noisy..and alot of light from the street lights.
Good location. Price was fair. Staff was friendly
No in room refrigerator or safe. Air conditioner was a little loud.
location
The room was expected the same way online
Room was very spacious & clean.
Location, lots of homeless is the area. Didn’t feel safe. Felt very uncomfortable.
Gorgeous Historical Room, comfortable, loved the portraits along the halls and how comfortable the couch and bed were. No ghosts or hauntings. I loved the lighting in the room, no LED's nice ambiance.
部屋がレトロ。
i have stayed here many times. it’s quaint and in a great neighborhood and i love grossman’s noshery and bar which is attached!
nothing
Loved the balcony
My friend and I stayed at La Rose for his birthday. We also stayed for his last birthday and the last two Christmases. Even though we are local, this is aways a treat for us. The rooms were cozy and clean, the housekeepers were on top of everything, water, coffee, and tea were always available to us. All in all, we enjoyed the comfort of the rooms, especially during the rain, and admired the beauty of this historic hotel.
立地、スタッフの対応、清潔感
悪いということではないのですが、 冷蔵庫があればなお良かったです。
Charming old hotel, very well kept up.
Nothing
Historic hotel in funky part of Santa Rosa.
The lobby and room decor were decorated in 1920s theme.
Close to everything downtown
Beds were a little uncomfortable
We stayed 6 nights and loved the service, location, friendliness of staff, connection to Gibson’s Noshery (restaurant). Great scene for walking to the light rail train, restaurants and shopping!
Pablo at the front desk was amazingly pleasant and helpful getting us settled in the room. Hotel is lovely and feels like a step back in time but with modern amenities ;-) absolutely worth a visit! We'll be back. Pricing is more than affordable !
Nothing! It was all great!
This is our go to when we visit. Walking distance to numerous restaurants and across the street from great coffee. Parking is easy and staff are friendly.
The rooms are a little dated but cozy.
This was my 6th time at Hotel La Rose. I adore the charm and simplicity of this establishment and will only stay here when I’m in Santa Rosa.
I only wish I could bring my dog.
Great location right near the heart of town. Great restaurants nearby. Excellent staff and customer service.
Nothing.
The Hotel La Rose is perfectly situated in a historic part of Santa Rosa, with plenty of small shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is also quite historical -- beautiful inside and out. Our room was very comfortable and well furnished. Our bed was equally comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful at every opportunity. A great stay all-in-all. We will stay there again, and definitely recommend to others. Thanks Hotel La Rose!
This is our go-to place to stay
Great location, charming, very comfortable.
Really loved the hotel.
Classic accommodations with antiques. A great central location with well preserved renovation. Grossmans deli on the premises.
Great location. Friendly staff. Nice antique furnishings.
Flooring a bit worn
From the moment we checked in, we enjoyed the personalized attention – including helping us choose the best room available at the best price. We .enjoyed the large suite with vintage furniture. The final huge plus for us was having an attached restaurant with a full bar. Our long day of driving and sitting in the car was really over!
I recently stayed at Hotel La Rose for over an extended period of time while navigating an unexpected and uncertain situation with a hospitalized family member, and I cannot say enough about how incredible the staff and management were throughout my entire stay. From the very beginning, they were incredibly accommodating and flexible, especially given that my timeline kept changing. They made what could have been a very stressful experience feel supported and seamless, always ensuring I had what I needed. The entire team, from the front desk to housekeeping, was consistently kind, welcoming, and attentive. Housekeeping was especially friendly and reliable, and every interaction with the staff felt genuine and caring. A special thank you to Pablo and Allison, who truly went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of during a difficult and uncertain time. Their level of care and professionalism did not go unnoticed and made a lasting impression. The hotel itself is charming, comfortable, and in a great location with plenty of excellent food options nearby, which made an extended stay even more enjoyable. I’m deeply grateful for the experience I had here and would highly recommend Hotel La Rose to anyone looking not just for a place to stay, but for a team that truly cares about their guests.
Always a clean beautiful room in this old but well maintained hotel. Close to everything restaurants shops Smart train etc..
Delightful accomodations, great staff, walkable location to downtown!
i didn’t request a quiet room. i love that the hotel is attached to grossman’s noshery!
nothing
Location. Comfort. Clean. Daily housekeeping.
Very weak WiFi in the room. No breakfast. Expensive parking.
Clean and comfortable bed after 24 hrs of international travel. Shower felt great. I would recommend the Hotel Rose and I will stay here again if the need arises again. It would have been nice if coffee or tea was offered in the morning instead of having to purchase overpriced drinks next door.
So many historic buildings have been gutting and modernized but not Hotel La Rose. It’s in beautiful condition and feels like you’re stepping back in time to 1907. I stayed in room 44, the Frank Doyle Room who is very much worth looking up and learning about. Beautiful antique furniture, a massive and extremely comfortable bed, and one the coolest toilet I’ve ever used. The staff was kind and helpful, the room was clean, there were walkable food options, and it was just a cool experience staying in such a historic hotel. Way more interesting than the other options in town. If I’m ever in Santa Rosa again, I’ll stay here.
This is my home away from home. Its beautiful and has lots of atmosphere, and most important! Great housekeeping.
I recently booked two nights here through a third party site via Google maps. At the last minute before booking I swear the 3rd party site (super.com) switched the booking dates on me. I didn't realize this until I arrived to check in and found out the hard away that I was two days early for my reservation. Although this was technically a mistake on my end, to make matters worse the hotel was completely booked for the weekend I had initially planned for and this was a "non-refundable" booking. With all these disasters unfolding, the front office manager, Pablo Alfonso, went above and beyond to get everything sorted out for us! He was incredibly reassuring and made sure we got a refund even though it was technically my fault for booking the wrong dates with a non-refundable booking. He was quick with his communication between myself and with the third party site who were very problematic. He made sure I got a refund and even checked in with me a couple days later to make sure everything got all sorted out. 5 stars just for service alone and hopefully my significant other and I will be back soon!
Stay was lovely in the main hotel, love the antique style rooms. Bed was a little soft and caused back issues. A little noise from the city but it was nice to have a view of the railroad area. Train noise wasn't too loud. Room got warm easily, nice windows to let in fresh air. Grossmans "room service" was not room service, it was takeout. Advertised that it would be delivered to our room if we included room number. We thought we might get real utensils as well. They called to have us go down to the restaurant to pick up and gave plastic cutlery, which is fine, but we would have just ate downstairs if it wasn't true room service. Tipping 20% on a takeout order was a waste in this case.
