Reviewed Jan 30, 2026The house was spacious, it was easy to park, the bathrooms were well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. Located a short walk from the lake and plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.
It's not a complaint but a suggestion it would have been helpful to have some milk in the fridge on arrival. There was tea and coffee which was very appreciated.

Tv in main room kept switching channel on channel 15 … then freeze . Couldn’t watch Ao tennis TV in main bedroom didn’t work - no follow through from agent staff . To many remotes & tv wires hanging out everywhere Dirty bbq on front porch . Bedrooms had no fan . Front garden sprinkler wets chairs & table in morning so can’t use . A key lock safe or digital door lock would save guest time in picking up & dropping off key .

Reviewed Jan 20, 2026Pembroke Lodge was perfect for us. We were staying three days and needed somewhere a bit bigger for the five of us. The accommodation had a well equipped kitchen, laundry, good bedrooms and living area. We were also impressed with a full dining table as many places sleep 5 but don't sit five.
Nothing really. The only thing was maybe adding some board games? Hubby found 22 bananagram pieces scattered/lost around the lounge and started a new (challenging) game called crabble - spelling with limited letter options. The view and accommodation were wonderful - would definitely stay again if we make it back to Wanaka.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2025It is an old house, full of charm and character. Beautifully renovated with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The doors were replaced with modern door and door handles. Nice wood-burning fireplace warmed the house quickly. Beautiful tree in front of the house. Great view of the mountains and lake. Walking distance to see the Wanaka Tree.
A bit far to walk to the town. But, it was a nice stroll along along the park and lake. It has squeaky floorboards. This is expected of old houses.

Reviewed Jan 24, 2025Location was fantastic. It was near to town and the lake. Cool breeze from the lake. Quiet area. House was clean and good facilities with washer and dryer. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds. Parking right in front of the house.
TV is hard to use. Need to use remote very close to the tv and recorder to operate. Using dish satellite which doesn't have much choices in programs. Would be good to upgrade to Smart TVs like other places. Don't open windows at night with the lights turned on. The moths and sand flies all fly in.

Dent in wall, needs to be fixed. Unable to tell the reception at Wanaka Motor Inn as no one was attentive on front desk when I dropped keys off. Would have been nice to have had a few more tea towels. Please discard old ripped ones!

Not enough toilet paper and no soap or shampoo. For the price you would think they would provide shower gel and shampoo. Bbq wasn't that clean and cleaner missed the dirty nappies outside from previous guests. Neighbours had new puppies that barked all morning.

There are no toiletries supplied and the cleaning fee should be included in the price . We imagined there are a lot of tourists like us who stay here , so we were a bit surprised to find that there were no shampoos, conditioners or body wash , it is just inconvenient to have to go out and buy that when it could be easily supplied . Would also have loved if the cleaning fee is included in the total price , as It did catch us by surprise and isn’t necessarily clear when making the booking .

Reviewed Aug 7, 2023The location is excellent, close to the lake, close to the township and quiet street. Parking right at the front door, convenient at loading and unloading ski gears/ kids. Well equiped kitchen. The heating was superb, wall panel heater, woodfire as well as a heat pump. The bed was comfortable.
Wifi had to be purchased separately, and the connection was a bit slow and unstable.
