Good value. Friendly staff.

Continental breakfast free with the room. The place does what you need it to. 25 min walk along the canal to get into town. Didnt use the pub but it seemed nice and was not noisy.

Mattress caused interrupted sleep. An easy fix. Not a pretty location but not a problem if that's not what you need.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The window in the room did not close/seal properly. Was ok on my stay but would be a problem in winter.

Muy bien ambientado , fuimos a ver un partido de fútbol y desde allí bien comunicado al centro y al estadio . Aunque parezca solitario entre naves , el personal y el ambiente diario hace que el lugar sea perfecto . Personal muy hogareño y muy, muy cariñoso .

Exceeded our expectations. Very friendly staff, room did the job as we only stayed a night. We stayed a Saturday night and couldn't hear any noise from the pub

The bathroom light is sensored. This wouldn't be an issue except the sensor pointed away from the bathroom. So to shower, my husband had to stand at the door flailing his arms around so the light and fan would stay on for me. The shower had good pressure, but I am 175cm and almost touched the shower roof 🫣

Found the property very easily, was welcomed by staff who were very friendly. The room had everything you needed for a short stay.

Although the actual area around the B&B was not nice, it was well connected and easy to travel to. The staff were also kind and welcoming.

Given the budget price, I expected the property to be very basic. However, it felt very rundown and not particularly clean.

Sehr alte Möbel Tür zum Badezimmer fehlte Wasser war kalt, im Hochsommer ging es gerade noch so, was ist im Herbst und Winter. Direkt an einer sehr viel befahrenen Straße gelegen. Nie wieder hier

La struttura è un pub , si entra proprio dal pub , si possono bere delle ottime birre spillate sapientemente. La camera era quello che ci si aspetta dal prezzo. Il bar hooligan era la cosa più carina .

One bright side of the visit was Lynn who ran the kitchen, very friendly and attentive. Though she was very very adamant about a review, which made me feel pressured to leave one for her. But she is the only reason you guys are getting 1 star instead of none. She made very good food. Lynn was also very helpful in taking my keys as I was unsure where to leave them.

Honestly this was a disappointment, the pictures on booking.com must have been altered in some way as this was disgusting. Felt like a total scam. When i walked in it looked like some sort of bio-hazard. I was shown to a room that was filthy, tears in the curtains, stains on the floor. The bathroom was a wardrobe...and I was stuck here as I paid upfront before even reaching the property. It was so disgusting that I did not even want to take off my shoes and socks let alone lay in the bed. I went down to the bar to ask for a partial refund so I could find somewhere else to stay. As booking.com said i could get 50% back. The woman text her manager and said no but they could give me a different room that wasn't as bad... This room was still bad but not the biohazard of the first room. The mattress was springy. The bathroom had dents on the floor, an unattached toilet seat and a broken tap. One bright side of the visit was Lynn who ran the kitchen, very friendly and attentive. Though she was very very adamant about a review, which made me feel pressured to leave onr for her. Wyjątkowy wystrój Baru, spodobał by się każdemu kibicowi Piłki Nożnej. Bardzo miła obsługa pod każdym względem, Hotel, Bar i Kuchnia. Pozdrawiam wszystkie Panie. Na pewno do was wrócimy, być może na jakiś mecz w Birmingham. Do zobaczenia i Dziękujemy Bardzo!

Jedyny minus dla osób przemieszczających się bez auta, to lokalizacja. Z najbliższej stacji ASTON, na pieszo jakieś 15 minut głownie przez tereny przemysłowe.

NOT SUITABLE FOR SOLO FEMALE TRAVELERS. Staff weren't very friendly on arrival, made me wait and feel like an inconvenience for wanting to check in. I wasn't expecting much in the way of facilities for the price but I did expect it to be clean and to have some level of service. The building is very run-down and old, the communal areas are scruffy and security feels very lax. The rooms are not a terrible standard for the price and cleaning was decent but everything was very worn. The real issue was the placement and security though. I was staying in the middle of the recent heatwave, which nobody could have predicted or avoided of course, and though the room was very hot the staff did provide a fan. This was nowhere near adequate for the space however, so I attempted to open the window, which is right next to the bed. This is when I discovered that the window looks out and opens directly onto the beer garden and the flimsy worn curtains do not even shut properly. For comfort alone it would have been difficult to have the window open because of the noise levels, but when I saw where it was this became also a security issue and I felt not just uncomfortable but very unsafe. After about an hour of trying to get comfortable, i decided to cut my losses and leave. I would not have been able to spend a night there and feel at all secure. It is a very low price, for which I commend them, but if you can afford ANYTHING better, please take it, for your own safety and comfort, especially if traveling alone.

The friendliness of the staff, Lynn the lady who served the breakfast was very friendly, efficient . The size and quality of the breakfast, the sausage and bacon was very tasty, I also appreciated the fact that a member of staff had put a fan into the room I occupied and turned it on prior to my arrival to cool the room, it was an exceptionally hot day. The bed was comfortable, I had a good night sleep.

The location of Shanahan's (the area is very run down) but to be fair there is nothing the owner can do about this fact, the property is located in an industrial area. The smell of drugs in the main areas, of the property (weed). The locks on the doors also need updating.

My favourite place (just outside ULEZ) Choice of breakfasts has increased ♥️ Lynne is a great cook. Bar & staff are always good to be around.

During hot weather, the room becomes stiflingly hot. Also, the floorboards creak when stepped on. However, the place is kept very clean.

Room was nicely spacious especially for the money, staff were extremely helpful to the point of even substituting parts of the breakfast I didn't like with things I did at no extra charge, general atmosphere had lots of personality to it, handy side-entrance for late nights.

Given the more industrial-focussed location, be ready to rely on public transport for things outside of the B&B, as there aren't many places to eat/resupply nearby.

Breakfast was very good, and the lady who made Breakfast was very hospitable.

Unfortunately there was no hot water from the shower, cold water only. I used the sink basin instead. Water was luke warm from the basin and it didn't have a proper plug hole, which made washing more difficult.

Whilst the rooms are above a bar, you feel very separate from it all, its quiet and comfortable and so easily accessible. We went to the cafe for food the next morning, what amazing prices and service! Lynn sure knows her stuff and was the friendliest face in there, she made us feel so comfortable and at home, and without mentioning a respectable woman’s age, her skin is incredible and she’s a young spirit at heart for sure. We also really appreciated the member of bar staff who showed us to our rooms and explained we could access the smoking area at any time of night, showed us where exits were, the bathroom, etc.

The only minute thing is i couldn’t find any cups to have some water in the night.

We stayed here as we had tickets to see Aston Villa v Liverpool at Villa Park which is about a 20-30 minute walk away, it is ideal for this purpose as it is a Villa supporters pub. The room is above a lively sports bar/pub and was quite small and basic, however, it was clean and relatively comfortable with a kettle for tea/ coffee and a good quality wall mounted TV. The staff are very friendly and helpful and I get the feeling that they like to reassure guests that they will be well looked after and safe as the location is a bit rough looking, set on an industrial estate with not much else around, we were a bit worried about our car being safe but needn't have worried as we parked next to the pub all night. Shared bathroom with shower was very clean and had plenty of hot water at all times and we didn't have to wait to use it as there was only one other guest staying apart from us.

The room didn't have much storage space for clothes etc but it was perfect for a one night stay to watch the football. The bed was a bit soft for me so I didn't have the best nights sleep and there was also a bit of noise from the pub below (people singing Happy Birthday gone midnight !!) but the locals are friendly and quite boisterous and the bar certainly has atmosphere which we enjoyed while having a nightcap.

Fantastic room, was VERY impressed for the price charged, friendly staff, friendly locals, food on site at certain times, lots of deliveries nearby if you cant make food slots, free parking,, cheap pints, 10 mins drive to city center, VERY comfy bed, slept like a log every night of the 4 i was there

Everything from walking in to the bar the staff are so lovely and helpful. And locals were friendly . Beautiful find and can't wait to tell our friends. Rooms were spotless and felt so safe there . Looking forward to booking again when we have an event up there x

Great value. We were concerned that we would hear noise from the pub below, but heard nothing when the door was closed. Everything was very clean. The bed was firm & comfortable. Free wifi.

The other guests that shared a wall with us were terribly noisy, but little you can do about other guests.

Great location for what was needed. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much for them. Having a cafe downstairs for breakfast was brilliant.

Het bed beviel het meest. Ik heb heerlijk geslapen. Badkamer was schoon. Waterkoker met koffie en thee vrij te gebruiken.

De omgeving was wat heftig. Marihuana lucht, viezig tapijt. Er werd niet heel goed gekeken naar of de tafeltjes in het restaurantgedeelte een doekje konden gebruiken. Het was gewoon een groezelige pub.

The area is really bad, I was approached walking home twice, also there's a huge fan that blows constantly, I got one hour sleep, and the bar closes at 9pm downstairs, so nobody can help, and please let people know it's a shared bathroom!!! Someone had gotten sick on the floor and I stepped in it. there was definitely someone smoking hash inside too.

The staff at the cafe for breakfast were both lovely, the room was clean and just what we needed for 2 night stay.

The room was far too hot (even when mentioned to staff member). The noise from above in pub was ridiculously loud from 10pm to 11.30pm not great when you have a child with you. Also didnt really see any staff apart from one girl who checked us in and the kitchen staff. Could maybe do with info packs in room.

It’s a room for 36 pounds and the WiFi works. Also I forgot my earbuds in the room and the friendly staff kindly held on to them for a couple days until I was able to come get them back.

There was a stain on the carpet near the bed in room 1 that looked too much like a blood stain, the bed is broken so the mattress tilts downward, and the window can’t be opened so the room got too warm at night. Also the shower was full of gnats and the bathroom ceiling was covered in mold.

Birmingham heeft, buiten het centrum om, een flinke schoonmaak en opknapbeurt nodig maar daar kan Shanahans niks aan doen.

Good location, prompt check in. Small breakfast included, clean room. Coffee, tea, kettle in the room. Towels provided.

The shared bathroom has a mold problem which needs to be resolved. The bed in room #1 is not very even, whatever bedframe under the mattress needs changing.

For the price point it was decent stay

The second night I get the room 1 no ensuit during the night horrible noise from the boiler or something else no possible to sleep . Very negative and racist attitude .If you are the foreigner Avoid this place
