Pool was a great extra with the kids and they ate for free which kept Costs down.

The room was a little cold as the temperature was controlled, it had rained in the day and we arrived with wet clothes and kids trainers with no was other that a hairdryer to get them dry.

Good location for what we were there for. Only a few minutes from park and ride. Hotel itself. Room was clean enough, however tired looking. Hotel looks like it need a refurbishment throughout. Breakfast was very nice. However this is the first Hotel we have visited with our dog and not been able to sit in the dining room. While I understand health and hygiene where dogs are concerned im sure we could of had a section by the lifts away from the food. Instead we were put out in the corridor where I felt a bit on display. Didn't feel very dog friendly at that point. Apart from that a pleasant stay. And breakfast was very nice

The staff are exceptional. The lady at check in deserves special mention.......thorough and very customer focused. This is a quirky hotel in terms of layout. There is a huge estate of Bank HQs nearby.It is in a parkland setting and affords a pleasant walk.

High volume of traffic noise from nearby,busy dual carriageway. Although, this gives easy routes for onward travel.

Not allowed to use resturant for dinner as reserved for a coach tour , despite the fact they did not take up the whole area. Was told to use the bar area , which to us was totally unacceptable.. several guests turned away. After discussion with obstinate duty manager A table was found. When coach party came there was loads of room that could have accomadated other guests. Breakfast was contaminated one morning with what we think was some sort of black matetials shreds. Photos available. We should have reported to food hygiene authority. Building somewhat tired. Would not stay there again.

We had to have our evening meal in the bar, and there were only really bar tables and stools which are uncomfortable for the older generation. The food was good.

We had food in the restaurant (ate outside) on our first night. On our second night, we went to sit in the garden again and our food/plates were still there from the night before.

Check in time was moved from 3 to 4 There was a stale smell in the lower area where our rooms were located The changing rooms in pool area needed refurbishing

The breakfast was lovely,wide range of options and selections, really tasty!the room was expected and the beds really comfortable and we had a great sleep!the shower was powerful and we enjoyed it

The decor of the room and hall were dated and could do with a paint job to freshen up the room and halls

It felt more like a camp than a hotel. The room and corridors leading need a refurbish. I feel the hotel its self is run down. The pool area is dirty and stained rust marks around the hot tub and mould on the white drains around pool area.

I have booked double bed room and ended up with two separate single beds saying because you booked from third party you don’t get preference of rooms.

What I didn’t like is, if you booked for double bed room and you still had to sleep on two separate bed.

Staff were good. Breakfast spread is good.

We discovered that our bed sheets were dirty. When we contacted the front desk, Kirti from front office changed it.

Mark who served us in the bar on both nights was super friendly and welcoming despite the bar being very busy.

Only Small duvet provided for sofa bed - 2 singles would have been better. Coffee machine in room didn't work. - did not raise either at time as only staying one night. Leak in roof with bucket underneath in corridor, mouldy window frame, air conditioning wasn't adjustable.

The staff were very friendly. Very good breakfast with a wide offering of English and continental selections. The room was spacious and had air conditioning, though only centrally controlled by staff.

The carpet smelt of pet poo and wee. The corridors were especially horrendously smelly. The room was not clean with cobwebs everywhere. Staff changed towels but didn't clean the bathroom throughout my 3-night stay. Similarly, staff did not wash glasses and tea/coffee cups. To say the least, the hotel hygiene was poor.

Good location for the park and ride, though the long walk to our room wasn’t great from the reception/bar area. Breakfast good. Good that they had a step in shower, had numerous operations on feet, knees and hips, so a shower over the bath no good.

Cleaning and maintenance was a bit poor. Cobwebs near smoke alarm, silicone around shower needs cleaning/changing. Pillow case in one of the pillows was dirty. Curtains dirty. On the first night only got give 3 bath sheets and on the second day had to ask for more in reception, as after cleaning was only left with 2, we was 4 staying.

We waited 50 minutes for our dinner to come. To then meet a rude gentleman and made feel like we were the problem. Highly under staffed in the food department. Met the manager for food and beverage who seemed nice but to be under a lot of pressure. The gentleman down stairs in the restaurant was rude to other staff members and putting them down in front of customers also. Seems like a bit of a bully. Not a nice atmosphere. Upstairs for breakfast, very under staffed. And food and beverage manager doing her best to please everyone, rest of the staff were in a world of their own. Asked reception about recommendations about the area and they knew nothing about the area and couldn't recommend anywhere. Bed was uncomfortable also.and freezimg cold at night.

A little in need of TLC, and a little grubby looking. Pillows were awful, it took a while to send us some better ones after requesting them 3 times !

The hotel in general was lovely, we had a great stay and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. When we arrived our room wasn't ready but we were travelling with a 9 month old so they quickly swapped some things around to get us in and settled asap. The pool was a lovely bonus, the kids loved it! We had dinner in the restaurant- lovely and fairly priced, the breakfast however- fabulous!!! good quality, good variety, brilliant value 👏 Would definitely stay again!

We had amazing service from Ann at dinner on Sunday evening.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic. The restaurant ran out of coffee mugs and certain food items, and a lot of tables were uncleared.

Shower was very smelly mould around frame as you get into shower. It actually would wipe off with a cloth so the cleaners had not made much effort.Did not have much time in the hotel as we were going to Chester racecourse to see Tom jones .So I was pleased to have an earlier check-in.Also I didn’t feel like complaining.Just short break.Did not want to spoil the day.

Overall it was an ok stay and staff were very helpful, including the cleaning staff.

The approach to the facility is not the most welcoming - they could do something to make the site a little more attractive. Inside was a little dated but not too bad. Food was ok but could also be a little cheaper.

The staff were unfriendly I had put a request for the two rooms I booked to be together they were not. The room above my family members were very noisy we appreciate that wasn't the hotels fault. Also four people in my room only provide tea coffee facilities for two.

A comfortable room and good night's sleep; a very good breakfast; nice to be able to keep my room until 12.00.

My only (slight) criticism is that decaffeinated coffee was not available at breakfast.

Connectivity to the various expressways if you want an affordable location to spend the night and travel to the other major cities.

There weren't any external food options nearby. Had to drive at least 15 mins to the nearest town for some decent food.

Don't stay in room 401, the sink is blocked and the window frame and surrounding wall is covered in black mold!! Be aware, if you book a stay with a child they can stay for free, up to the age of 17, but they will NOT get the 'included' breakfast if they are over 13!!! This is not mentioned on 'booking.com site' or the 'IHG site', it only states children under 18 stay for free.

We found all staff were very well mannered and eager to please, no request being to small. Although the building and rooms were a little dated and likely not far from requiring refurbishment, overall the rooms occupied were clean and well kept. The swimming pool although also dated, had more than adequate facilities, further to this the area was well kept with clean changing rooms and pool area. In particular the staff in the dinning areas should be commended. We found that despite being busy more often than not the staff provided an excellent service and remembered us from day to day, which we interpreted as adding a personal touch, again every thing asked of them was undertaken and quickly executed. We were informed hiw our order was progressing, together with apologies for any delays, which we fully understood seeing the volume of customers, flowing through this area; we were more than happy with waiting times and always felt that the staff had no reason to apologise. Our food always arrived piping hot and as ever were delivered with a wink and a smile.

We particularly liked both the staff and the menu choices , both in the breakfast and evening dining area's. We had chosen the meal deal package throughout our 4 day stay, the buffet style breakfast had a fabulous choice of food covering all cultures. We found the menu for dining in the evening was also varied, in fact enough to ensure that we were able to have different meals daily.

Breakfast reasonable for price But only issue was some road noise and noise from adjacent rooms.

Very friendly and the room was very nice and comfortable a bit disappointed with the choice of dinner which was steak pie and norhing else and no one showed us where to sit or asked us how the meal was however the breakfast was an improvement there was a bit more choice

Mmm, the price was good but the room wasn’t great. We first arrived and thought ok it’s tired but it’s ok. We then looked at the pillow and wondered what was on it, it came off so didn’t think anything of it. The sofa was made up as a bed and my daughter wanted to share with me so we folded it up, and found a charger under it. We slept well, air con worked and there was tea and coffee. In the morning I was drying my hair when I found a bag of food under the sofa and a pork scratching under the bed. Room 134 if you left your donuts and was wondering where they went, they went under the sofa. The changing rooms in the pool smelt of urine. I mean it was £50 so did I expect!

We could hear very inappropriate noise through the night and in the morning from the room above. I was with the child. Not nice at all! Reported to reception, but i guess not much they can do. Soundproofing is very poor, so they need to consider how to position people in the rooms and separately families with kids from romantic couples.

Sitting for over an hour for food that wasn’t put through and then being lied twice to as to why. Despite it being the bar staffs fault, they still charged me for my drinks! ( coke and coffee) Appalling customer services when complaining, as just lied to again - if they had an emergency, I was sat in the bar we would have heard and seen the emergency ambulance! The hotel was not clean either! Whether that be the public toilets, swimming pool, etc..

The TV had multiple channels like YouTube on it not just the basic tvs you get other holiday inn hotels

The beds were two singles and not a double so think it was over priced in that way, the left side bed lamp was damaged and there was a stain on the carpet next to bathroom door, the cleaners where very pushy about when to leave even tho im a member and checkout time was at 2pm not 12pm and they wasn't that polite.

Bed wasn’t made or top up tea/coffee left in room after first night of 2 night stay. Bar/snack cafe was open lunch time of the Saturday but no bar staff present and reception was unable to locate them. After 7-10 minutes we gave up trying to get served.

Sadly our bathroom had a really bad smell. It was reported but by the next day nothing was still done & we were staying just that one night. The kettle was full of soap & I had to wait over 2 hours for a replacement one. Carpet could of benefited from stain removals. I had requested a room with a double bed, but was given a twin, no more rooms were available. I had to push the beds together to make one big bed. Mainly because my son would of rolled out either side as he's under 5

Nothing. I always have loved Holiday inn and so booked this hoping it was the regular holiday inn but was disappointed. I didn’t particularly like anything.

The hotel was generally old/dilapidated. As you walk in your room, the floor cracks. Won’t stay there again.
