Lovely friendly staff
A really enjoyable stay
Good hotel in an excellent location. We will certainly return here for future weekend breaks in Stratford.
We booked the Viola suite which was beautiful, stunning bathroom (the only negative was that the TV in the bathroom didn't work). Helpful staff. Fantastic location, couldn't fault it. It's just a shame they charge guests £10 to park!
Room was ridy
Lovely hotel with bistro and pub attached. Comfy bed, large room , walk in shower with all shampoos, conditioners, hand washes and lotions. Could hear neighbours coughing so they could obviously hear mine. Would definately recommend and return.
Great room. Clean and tidy with plenty of tea/coffee/milk etc for drinks. Replenished every day by the attentive housekeeping staff. Great service
The internet was fine. We had a room that could have been cleaned a bit more and the glasses in the bathroom had toothpaste in one of them. The staff was easy going, easy to talk to. The atmosphere was relaxed, we enjoyed it very much. Our bed was not made the day after our first night either. But we were out all day, therefore it was not an issue.
Breakfast was very very poor, Staff were fine but the standard of cooking and quality of food was bad. Will not eat in the restruarant again!
Great staff and clean room, had a lovely stay.
Location was perfect and the room was very spacious. Lovely and friendly staff. Would stay again .
Great location, fab staff and room
Most comfortable bed and pillows ever
Our anniversary was made special by this hotel!!
Great Location ,dining options,freindly staff.
Trip to watch a play at the RSC nearby which was just a short walk over the bridge. Room was lovely, bathroom was clean, taps kept making a loud noise so had to open more than was necessary, shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided so no need to take. Bed was comfortable. Hairdryer in room. Overall a little too warm throughout room and hotel as weather has just turned so heating was on. Breakfast was lovely, as vegetarians we felt there was a good choice and milk alternative also provided.
Excellent
Had a m
Just here for one night but very comfortable room, friendly staff and great location. Would definitely recommend the swans nest.
Older style property but excellent facilities and lots to do around the area.
Location within the town was superb. Great atmosphere in the pubattached to the hotel Breakfast was lovely
first class service excellent location for town facilities
Had a lovely time food in the bear pub and the bistro excellent staff friendly the only bad comment I have is I do not appreciate dogs being the the eating areas I was aware that the hotel was dog friendly but I really don’t think they should be where people are eating surely they should leave the dog or dogs in their rooms while dining
Great weekend we will stay here again in the future
Staff helpful
Lovely hotel and very convenient for doing things around Stratford-upon-Avon. Check-in staff were very helpful in suggesting some things to do and tips for getting into places like Warwick cheaper. The hotel has paid parking lot but there is a city long-stay car park behind the hotel that is cheaper rates.
Comfortable bed, helpful staff. Have never stayed in a dog friendly hotel before and noticed a strange smell in the room ? cleaning products. Good choices for cooked breakfast, however, long wait time, cold poached eggs and the untoasted sourdough with avocado were a disappointment. Hotel very conveniently located for the theatre and town centre.
Rooms and communal areas are dated. Our room was far too hot. Even with x 3 fans that were already in the room. So the hotel must have had previous complaints Staff were nice and friendly. £10 to park your car ! Breakfast was ok for £12 I guess
Lovely hotel in a beautiful city
Lovely room, great staff, this is the second stay at the Swans nest and it didnt disappoint the location is ldeal for the town close enough (5min walk)to all Stratford can offer but far enough to be quiet and relaxing, the only niggle I have and its a personal hate of mine is the restaurant staff do not wear a uniform and it shows a lack of professionalism and pride in what is a very nice restaurant and especially when there is another busy restaurant just over the road even if its only a shirt or apron with the restaurants name on it and shoes not scuffy trainers it devalues the whole experience, the menu is good the quality is good the bar is good ,the rest of the hotel staff are spot on
We enjoyed our stay at the Swans Nest. The location was super convenient yet quiet. Our room was spacious. When travelling to hot tourist spots don't expect your parking to be free, it just doesn't happen. Our parking was half price if you pay for it through the hotel instead of via the app on the signs. That was such a good deal! The restaurant and pub on sight are independent but they give you a discount and their food is good. It's a lovely and easy walk to the theatre and the whole town, plus the waterside park which abuts the hotel is lovely. We walked all the way down to the weirs. So beautiful. We enjoy Stratford and regularly attend plays at the RSC, so we will be back!
Receptionist was lovely, really friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, spacious and well furnished and we slept so well. Bathroom could be cleaner, cobwebs around window and black mould in corner of bath/shower and door mouldings covered in dust which is a shame because everything else was amazing and the position perfect next to the river and a short uber ride to the castle in Warwick
Great location
Always great to stay at The Swans Nest.
An okay hotel, no lifts and despite us booking a child under 1 they tried to put us upstairs and hadnt sorted a cot for us. However great location for our visit
Very pleasant couple of nights
The hotel is located right next to the river and lock area but is still set in a peaceful location. Town centre and all the is a 5 min walk
Excellent hotel with very good independant restaurant beside. Very convenient central position to the town.
All good.
Well situated hotel with reasonable car park costs. staff helpful. a little tired in some reception rooms.
Picked hotel as it had it's own parking even if it paid because we could walk into the town centre. Very quiet despite its central location. Very happy with our club room overlooking the inner courtyard lawn. Decent size rainwater shower. Room although good is getting ready for a refresh same in bathroom. Ate in pub attached to hotel pleasant meal but nothing special.
Fantastic location by the river. Staff are all very friendly and the service was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
Hotel was fine, but a couple of issues that were pretty much dismissed by reception staff. 1. The car park sign says 24 hours parking for £10, the website say £10 for a day, the staff say it's up to checkout time and try to charge £1 per hour after that. The room was really hot, not helped by the towel rail being on full blast.
Room is in need of updating. Curtains faded, uninspiring decor and generally tired and shabby. Dark inside too. Outside the front and side of hotel needs more tidying and maintenance. We were staying on my wife’s 60th birthday but the hotel did feel as well presented as I remember. Shame.
Excellent hotel, perfect location, near river
Good location on the riverfront. Great restaurant and pub associated with the hotel
We have stayed here a few times and always enjoy it's proximity to the theatre, the lovely surroundings and the helpful and cheerful staff. Breakfast is good, nice a la carte selection and rooms confortable. The walk back from town in the evening, with the lights on the water is especially pretty.
Excellent hotel in great location Staff very friendly & breakfast superb
Really nice hotel, room was spacious, staff friendly and helpful. A bit of a wait for breakfast as were full, bar stopped serving at 11pm on a Friday even for residents and air con in room was intermittent and no remote, but these were minor things for a really nice hotel with good staff a pub and restaurant on site.
Check in staff were lovely. Upgraded our room when they found out it was anniversary and gave us lots of useful local info. Great location for walks into town and along the river.
Everything was perfect. Clean comfortable room and very good breakfast. Very convenient only 5 minutes from the theatre and centre of town.
Traditional, family hotel. Friendly welcome & helpful staff. Convenient for walking into the town & theatre. Excellent hot & cold breakfasts. Parking available at the hotel ~ £10 for 24 hrs. We stay here every year on our annual trip to Stratford. Good restaurants & cafes close by.
Decoration is tired looking, especially the Bear bar. Speaking of which, hotel guests can only purchase drinks until 10.10pm? That was surprising! Bed was comfy, bathroom clean, room tired looking though. As your bar is closed completely by 11pm, why is it acceptable for people to sit outside, at your tables, to laugh and talk loudly well into the night. I had to contact reception at 2am to tell people to go home!!
Lovely two night stay with friends. Nice location, comfortable and clean and pleasant and helpful staff. would book again
Great welcome and staff interaction, throughout stay! Lovely food and drink in restaurant! Excellent location! Nice room, very comfy bed!
Excellent hotel. It is lovely and clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly.
Great location
It’s a good basic hotel in a great location. I had asked for a quiet room but was on the main drag from reception to car park. Room is OK but you have to put the kettle on the floor - no area to make tea. Other than that, staff were very helpful and room was clean.
Excellent location, clean rooms, comfy bed, excellent shower. Brilliant Full English breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. Recommend would stay again.
Two night stay to attend the RSC Theatre, which is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Excellent location to visit the town centre and to enjoy the river. Very helpful, friendly and attentive staff who work long hours. The pub is a little shabby in places, but overall very good. We will be returning (when I’ve saved enough Tesco points!)
The hotel was great, suite clean, very quiet. Staff were helpful. House keeping was shoddy at best. Having to ask for basic things like loo roll and coffee.
Decent hotel with everyrging you need for a comfortable one night stay near the town centre. Although very close to town, it was very quiet and I slept well. Big room and spacious shower.
Really well located for the RSC theatres and Stratford centre. However, a little quieter as the hotel is located on the other side of the Avon. We like the bistro and pub/bar attached to the hotel. Staff are all very helpful and friendly. It is our preferred hotel in Stratford on Avon.
Absolutely amazing staff!
We loved the Swans Nest hotel. It's very walkable to everything, yet being just slightly away from the immediate town centre made it very quiet.
An excellent team of staff. Nothing too much trouble and they all seemed to be happy in their work. It really does make a difference. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The hotel could do with a lift but because it is a listed building that’s not possible. Would recommend the hotel and we will visit again.
The Swan’s Nest is our preferred choice hotel in Stratford on Avon. We visit for the theatre 8-10 times per year so we have a broad, year-round experience of this hotel. Great facilities with the Bear Pub and Bistro Pierre. Parking is easy and one of the cheapest in town.
The beds and feather pillows were amazingly soft and comfortable. The room had AC which was a huge plus because it had been so hot and hard to sleep at other hotels. The best sleep we’ve had on our trip so far. Loved the quaint town.
The staff are so friendly and helpful. Good breakfast to set you up for the day. Very convient to town and nice to be away from the hubbub
Great location next to the river
The location and proximity to everything was excellent. Great on site pub and restaurant. It was rather hot, so the air conditioning was great!
We enjoyed our stay and a special thank you to Tracy for looking after us! The Viola Suite was very nice.
Excellent all round
Good stay with comfortable bed, nice room, great restaurant and friendly staff
Total great experience. The staff was superb. Thank you
The hotel was lovely, and i enjoyed a lovely evening sitting outside on the patio. The only downside for me was what i witnessed whilst i sat in foyer area waiting fir my room to be prepared. There was a man( member of staff), who was cleaning, but he was walking out of rooms, through Foyer area , with dirty bed linen, propped on his shoulders, not even in a laundry bag. He did 4times more carrying the dirty sheets in the same manner, i thought it was u professional, undignified, least of all, infection control risk. I just had to mention this, as i just couldnt believe what i was seeing.
Our suite was excellent, the hotel is perfectly positioned for walks into town and the staff were all helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely stay here again.
Lovely suite, very friendly staff, we loved the little gift they gave our dog ( little box containing a ball, treats and poo bags). Will definitely return 😊
Great location with efficient staff and readonable facilties
This hotel is very well located on the edge of Stratford-upon-Avon and there is ample parking at £10 per day for hotel guests. However, we felt this room was very poor value for money as it, whilst a little bigger than a standard room and with an additional seating area, was nothing special. In fact, there were no drawers apart from 1 desk drawer and only 1 useable shelf for clothing (other than hanging space). The standard of housekeeping was very poor - on our arrival one of the handtowels, which had been rolled up, was still damp so clearly had been left by the previous guests! The shower was great but, being an over bath affair, soaked the floor - lucky we had that spare hand towel which we used to mop it all up! We then left the very damp hand towel in the bath as this is universal hotel speak for ‘clean towel please’ but when we returned to our room later, the damp towel had simply been rolled up and replaced - not good. Add to that the fact that our room (68) was at the end of the corridor so quite a lot of foot traffic and chat passing our door and the floorboards squeaking constantly. Oh, and the very loud emptying of glass bottles outside, presumably into a recycling bin, after 11pm and at 6.20am on our first morning was extremely frustrating. We did appreciate the air conditioning and the shower cap though! Don’t think we’d choose to return here based on a very overpriced, underwhelming room.
I was really disappointed to see that the disabled car parking spaces have been prioritised for EV charging. There are now 4 EV charging points and no disability bays. Absolutely backward decision which will make it difficult for customers with a Blue Badge to stay at this hotel. Needless to say none of the charging points were being used during our stay.
Unfortunately the bedroom carpet in room 1 was worn and consequently not very inviting whatsoever. Then into the wet room where the old floor tiles appeared dirty - unless that is the aggregate in the tile since it was possibly so long ago that the tiles were installed!?? Again this contributed to a poor room appearance. The bed was nicely decorated with pillows and cushions and was comfortable. Didn’t use the tea & coffee facilities nor the fridge. Unfortunately encountered a noisy neighbour in room 3 whom had their TV on at a high level even at 0100 in the morning, this necessitated a walk to reception to raise a complaint about this matter. The receptionist assisted in this, the neighbour being asked to turn said tv off. ( it took him 2 minutes of door knocking on room 3 to alert the neighbour to their inconsiderate behaviour. Not a fault of the hotel but none the less a bad experience. The hotel is very central being very close to the footbridge- accessing all areas etc. car park charge being £10 which I suppose reasonable given the location etc. Staff were pleasant and polite.
Great Location, clean & comfortable. We only had Breakfast in the restaurant, but it was beautifully presented, staff were all welcoming.
No AC. Very hot and windows were painted shut.
When we arrived at check in we were upgraded , the young woman working was extremely courteous, friendly and helpful . Recommended a good restaurant which we received a 10% discount ! Even better . Hotel was very well situated and accommodating.
Fantastic place for a visit to Stratford and attached to the much recommended Bear pub.
Amazing location for the RSC, clean and comfortable room. Excellent helpful and friendly staff and a very good breakfast. Would definitely come again.
We booked Olivia, a spacious ‘suite’ with a very nice modern bathroom - but the rest of the hotel desperately needs upgrading. The restaurant is dowdy and dark. Breakfast was ok but lacked style. Wouldn’t return.
We were upgraded to a suite, which is very tastefully decorated. The room has a lot of characters, and the location is just a short stroll to twon centre.
Good location,
Very nice hotel in a lovely spot; wonderful service; very comfortable; excellent food.
Check in was easy, room comfortable, and location perfect for Shakespeare theatre
With a block of the bridge that crosses the swan river it was beautiful
Friendly and helpful staff. Bistrot Pierre served up very tasty food.
A great hotel in a fantastic location. Friendly staff. Best shower!
Good Hotel, Great location
Hotel check-in great, as was the room. Best night sleep I have had in a hotel in a long while .. Sadly, the service at breakfast was very poor - obviously understaffed with seemingly only one waitress other than the greeter (presumably front of house) who busied herself clearing tables but if asked about ordering breakfast just said “ my colleague will come to take your order” and was very off-hand! The restaurant was busy (8.40 am). An extra waiter did appear after a little while - presumably at shift start time ….
.
Perfect location & ample parking. Lovely hotel with spacious rooms & lovely reception staff. This is our 2nd time staying here & will definitely be back!
Convenient location, electric vehicle charging available, very close to town without being in the thick of it.
