Location central stratford
20 minute queue to check in Requested a twin room and checked with receptionist when checking in she confirmed this. The room we were given was a double. We called reception who said housekeeping would come and put it right. They arrived 3 hours later when we were showering ready to leav3 for the evening. Not acceptable
Loved it would go again
Stayed at the property previously and love the location and the cleanliness of the hotel
Couldn’t sleep all night due to being on the top floor and something on the roof blowing and the scaffolding outside had a ladder left on there and was loosely tied and blowing back and forth. Also after eventually dropping off being woking at 9am by the cleaning maid knocking the door to clean the room.
Delicious 😋
Nothing
Fab gym, room, service and food. Another lovely stay
Nothing
Tastefully decorated exceptional facilities very spacious comfortable rooms
Great location.
Room3062. The bath had a terrible rust stain all down the bath which needing addressing. Easy fix!! The water pressure was poor so virtually impossible to have a shower.
Breakfast very good
Having to pay for car parking when a guest
Loved everything! Perfect location, extensive car park, smooth lifts and modern, clean well equipped room with walk in shower. Lovely restaurant and efficient, welcoming staff. Fulfilled all my requirements.
Nothing
The entrance and general feel of the hotel was lovely. The bar was spacious and enjoyable to sit and have a pre meal drink The staff were all friendly with the exception of housekeeping. We were given a voucher for 3 drinks in the bar for my daughters birthday which was a lovely unexpected touch.
We booked a family room for a surprise night away for our daughter’s 13th birthday, when we got to the room, there wasn’t a spare bed made up. Housekeeping came and set up the bed but didn’t set it up properly and my daughter didn’t feel safe to move around in it. They never came back with a cup, glass etc. either. The air con on wasn’t working and because of the work going on in the building, we were unable to open a window. The room was very hot and none of us slept. We’d promised our daughter we would go back to the room and watch a film on iPlayer but the WiFi wasn’t working so we couldn’t do that.
Fantastic bar and restaurant area. Right in the centre of Stratford.
Couple of things not done correctly for an event I arranged, but were rectified. Our bedroom was several upgrades above the basic but didn't seem a lot different.
Clean, comfortable and perfect for what we wanted
It’s a bit big and corporate and slightly dated but at the same time everyone was lovely and we had no complaints.
Great location. Amazing breakfast
Cracked sink and Rusty plughole in bathroom
Rundown
Rundown Room smelt musty, had to change room
Room overall was good
Shower facilities werent great considering i paid for an upgrade on the room and almost 200 pounds for a one night stay id expect a better working shower
Great location in central Stratford. Friendly staff and a modern, clean hotel with excellent bar / restaurant area and seating next to the river. Added bonus of a small spa.
The one thing that stopped it getting a perfect rating is the shower. It is over a bath which was tricky to get in / out of but main problem was the power. It was just about better than a dribble.
Good hotel, spacious room, helpful staff.. Great location for town
N/A
Hot food Hotel all good
Very comfortable bed!
Breakfast although there were plenty of options weren’t as good as I expected- especially warm options
Brilliant location for exploring Stratford Upon Avon which is just across the road. Great restaurants and cafes nearby.
Noise form extractor outside our room was slightly annoying at night.
The location brilliant The staff brilliant Beds very comfy
Room carpet was stained The phone was unplugged thought it didnt work and other niggles all listened to and acted upon. Resolution to my compaint immediate and resulted In a % refund Custommer service brilliant.
Location, facilities, excellent breakfast, friendly housekeeping staff, everyone in the pool area - friendly, chatty
Reception is not inviting, reception staff need a personality transplant - the reception staff are miserable, no smiles, no extra information, as a guest who had never been to the hotel I expected to be told where the restaurant was, the pool, etc but nothing. Reception staff let down the hotel and an otherwise excellent stay. Oh and soap in rooms and public areas not being filled up.
Lovely clean modern hotel with loads of places to sit and relax . Garden and terrace on the river very nice . Fabulous location to walk into Stratford .
Just that room my mam had was pushed into a corner opposite the lift though we had asked to swap as the corridor is very long and she doesn’t walk well so needed to be nearer the lift .
Helpful and polite staff, excellent location and good facilities. Breakfast is one of best - and can be enjoyed at most UK Crowne Plazas.
All good, even the renovation work was well explained and did not detract from our stay.
The location is great as are the grounds and outside seating area.
The over the bath showers are dreadful with awkward access and low water pressure and in order to get a walk in shower I was told I’d need to pay an additional £50 a night for an upgrade.
Breakfast was excellent with a large choice
Everything was great
A very good experience with an ideal location for the town and theatres. We lookk forward to our next visit.
Clean spacious and able to sit outside in beautiful surroundings
Bathroom. Bad shower ..stained bath .. and slow running water
Location, staff, size of bedroom, all great. Lobby & lounge areas are always right and shiny clean 👌
Bedrooms are well equipped, but decor now seems a little tired & bland.
Clean, lovely decor, very comfortable room.
Can’t think of anything
It was spotless! Gleaming in fact! Nice helpful staff, fab room, in lovely location in Stratford for everything . Out the back was a pleasant surprise! Lovely deckchairs, decking, a log fire! All beautifully lit up. Very nice
On busy times I suspect car parking could be an issue but I just moved my down nearer about 6pm . £24 for my stay.
Excellent location, very nice Riverside Terrace, spacious comfortable rooms
Car parking was expensive
Nice and central to the town centre and theatre
Car parking
Beautiful, clean complex. Lovely staff, close to all amenities.
room is big
Ontbijt was uitstekend
De airco werkte niet waardoor het erg warm was in de kamer.
Location and cost
Bed was uncomfortable. Lack of air con and non opening windows caused a few problems. Although we were aware they may not be aircon we were not aware that the windows would not open. Objected to paying £13 to park. Breakfast a little disappointing and was not told until after we ate that we could have food cooked to order.
The first thing you notice when you walk through the door is how sparkly clean it is. Love the outdoor terrace. The staff are all very attentive and the food was great. The staff in the bar worked incredibly hard and noticed they kept the area clean and tidy at all times.
Room fairly basic but the bed was comfortable and clean.
The location and parking
The fact I was denied a normal invoice with my name on it not a VAT invoice just for my own expenditure. Dirty marks on the bed sheet The toilet seat was unacceptable and needs to be changed looks like it been cleaned with bleach and took half the top surface leaving an unpleasant look to the customer andnot cleaned properly all streak marks on the inside of the toilet lid. Stains on the carpet. Not what I would expect ect from a 4 star hotel.
Its location
Slow device for evening meal
Location
Room not cleaned well. No toilet paper left and room next door very loud. Also was under impression parking was free but cost £26
Location, room, food and facilities were excellent 👌
The only thing we didn't like was hearing the lift motor operating from our room even though we were 3 rooms down the corridor from the lift.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was lovely and spacious
The prices at the bar were very expensive and I didn’t like the card only policy.
Staff very good, excellent parking and location
Shower old fashioned and water not warm
nice clean hotel, comfy bed
they didn’t have any AC working in the hotel which during a heatwave, was the worst thing to experience and the reason i have given a low rating
Nice room with a better view than a previous stay. The bed was very comfortable.
The shower had only a fixed shower head up high and no handset. No shower cap provided. Limited selection of beers in the bar.
The venue is ideally located in the center. The hotel was clean and very attractive.
The building work on the outside of the hotel. However we did receive written information and apology about this, in our room on arrival.
Great location and facilities, everything we needed for a short stay in the centre of the town
Breakfast exceptional. Room very comfortable
The shower was not the best
Immaculate. Good breakfast. Charming staff. Excellent location to explore Stratford. Ample parking.
This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel over the last couple of months, the hotel is ideal place to stay its just a short walk to the town centre and local attractions,
We requested some milk and sugar for an extra cup of tea as we used the four sachets on the tea tray in the room, I went down to reception and requested some extra the young lady said some would be brought up to the room, unfortunately they never arrived and we had to just go without the following morning
Broken coffee machines, slow to restock buffet, not enough staff. Have been to this hotel about 20 times and it seems to be going down hill.
We had our wedding night there and there were balloons and petals on our bed, we were upgraded and we were able to use the club lounge for drinks and nibbles, all the staff were amazing and so welcoming
We have stayed here a few times as parking is easy and it's in a great location. It serves an excellent breakfast and the staff are always helpful. It also has a very nice riverside seating area.
Nothing. As expected
location, outside seating area, good choice at breakfast
two single beds pushed together not very comfortable, expensive bar prices card payments only, swimming pool did'nt look clean
Pleasant room Lovely breakfast
Shame about the view and very noisy air con units outside room. Window would not close and had to call maintenance at 10pm to fix broken lock.
The location
Only one lift for a huge hotel, so quite a frog march to the room. Very few parking spaces available due to many reservations .Big slow queue at checking in time, only 2 members of staff . Evening meal food was poor and outside area, which could have been lovely., was grubby and unattended.
Beautiful hotel - public areas immaculate, very clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly efficient staff.
The shower pressure was very weak. No EV charging points in the car park (in fact only one available in the whole town - come on Stratford on Avon, you're a popular destination for visitors - get it sorted! )
The price of breakfast was very high, therefore as a family of 4 adults we ate at another venue.
The central location. Food was great. Plenty of selection at breakfast
We had an issue with the toilet. Maintenance came up and said it just took a while to fill. We said this was not the case, but he was not interested. We came back from a meal in the restaurant at 11pm and the toilet had not filled again. Asking to speak to someone to get this fixed we were told that the maintenance said it was slow to fill that was all. There was no room to move us to, and no maintenance until morning. I pointed out that it is a basic human right to have a working toilet in an expensive 4* hotel, of which the manager agreed but could still do nothing. This left a very sour taste, even though the manager was apologetic, and not her fault, it’s pretty disgraceful that there is no one during the night time and to help with these issues. When we left the following morning they took 2 days parking off the bill, and the price of 2 drinks. which again was pretty poor,
Everything
Nothing to dislike
The location literally a five minute walk from the RSC was perfect and the price was stunningly cheap. Incredible value!
Car parking was quite expensive and the bed was pretty rock solid.
Very central for all the sights, beautiful location on the riverbank, very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Great breakfast!
Cost of car park
Love the location and facilities.
Unfortunately the bar was extremely expensive, so we didn't use it. It was difficult to put makeup on in the room as the lighting was poor in the mirror area.
Reasunable
Empty room fridge. Hard as iron dressing gowns. Very poor shower and basin cold. Water just a trickle. Air conditioningj just about up to it
The location is great, 2 minutes walk to the bottom of town but nicely out of the way too. Room would have been perfect: very comfortable bed, and spacious, shower good.
The room was extremely warm/stuffy - no AC at all. I am naturally a cold person but I was hot. I did manage to get to sleep in the early hours and then awoke to noise outside I looked out of the window and there was building work going on at the hotel. I know that this is temporary but with the lack of AC too, I did not have a good night at the hotel. Just to top it off, I went to make myself a cup of tea in the am - the cups were not clean!ed properly. I was a now annoyed as, ok, no AC is England and building work has to happen but both of these things are going to cause complaints so wouldn't you make sure everything that you could control was perfect?
The room (1063) was generally fine, though it looked out on to the restaurant roof, so not a thrilling view. The bed was a little firm, but comfortable enough and the temperature was adequate. There were plenty of power points. Good walk-in shower with non-slip mat provided. It was very handy for a short walk to the RSC (we had theatre tickets) and for access to the town centre. Breakfast was pretty average - neither especially good nor especially bad. Decent machine coffee, bean to cup. Plenty of hot and cold food
There were no drawers (or shelves) for underclothes and very little shelf space in the bathroom for two toilet bags. Also the hand towels were hanging above the back of the toilet, which made them hard to reach for someone short. The bathroom had an opaque glazed door which gave a shadow show. Tea and coffee supplies never have enough milk! (Same in any hotel, anywhere.) Breakfast was pretty average. Dry bacon, slightly undercooked egg whites and overcooked yolks (how do they do that?) Not sure what they do to their black pudding but it was so dry it resembled hockey pucks. Continental breakfast was good, though.
Location and facilities
A bit of dust on the headboard
Good location
The room was not fit for purpose - I couldn’t sleep and the windows can’t open more than 20cm due to idiotic safety latches.
Fantastic stay
Great location, shiny entrance and comfortable beds.
First receptionist didn't make eye contact upon check in. She took our payment for parking which I found expensive considering we were staying at the hotel overnight. We asked the cost of breakfast and she told us £14 pp and that we could pay in the morning. The next day we went to book breakfast and were charged 17.90 ish each because we didn't book the night before. Luckily the receptionist this morning refunded us the difference. The staff appeared under pressure. The bedroom had a funny musty smell. We opened the windows for a few hours to freshen up.
Location
Arrived just after 3pm to check in on Friday 28th Aug as part of the wedding party. The wedding was on Saturday 29th Aug. Issues arose as soon as I entered the room. There was no cold water in the bathroom sink, I was unable to flush the toilet, and only scalding water in the shower. I initially thought it was an isolated room issue until I had spoken to multiple wedding guests who had said they all had the same problem. I wasn’t informed on my arrival that the hotel was having issues with their water. Before going out for food in the town, reception staff were now telling new arriving guests of ongoing water issues with Severn Trent but staff were keen to repeat that this was a Stratford wide issue and not a hotel issue! This in fact was a lie! We contacted other local businesses to be told that had water! The leisure centre next door had working facilities, local pubs and restaurants had running water and the houses down the road indeed had running water. I’m aware of this as the Bride (my sister), bridesmaids (me+3) and other family members had to leave the hotel and go home (2minutes away from the hotel) to shower and wash our hair ready for the wedding the next day! Other wedding guests left the hotel altogether to return in the morning for the wedding as they had no running water in their room. Once the bridal party had returned to the hotel on the evening to complain, about the inconvenience of all of this, the receptionist was still informing guests it was a Stratford wide issue! I had to step in and again tell him to stop lying to people as this wasn’t the case at all! The receptionist became rude and said what more can he do. I asked will these issues affect the wedding day the following day and he was unsure. I asked for a refund and he said he ‘that’s an issue for the morning staff’ which is ironic as my brother in law was able to receive his full refund an hour before I’d asked for mine!
Close to centre , amazing breakfast , friendly staff comfortable bed , spacious rooms
Some areas of the hotel need some improvement looking a bit old
Pleasant staff, clean facilities, good size room comfortable bed, good recreational facilities, good food
Room could do with a chest of drawers, limited space to store clothes. Only hanging space for clothes.
Absolutely unacceptable – full refund and compensation requested This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and completely unacceptable for a hotel of the Crowne Plaza's supposed standard. During our stay, there was no usable cold water in our room. The water coming from the bathroom tap was scalding hot, to the point that I couldn't safely wash my hands. The bath tap was also completely non-functional — no water came out at all. As a result, I couldn't properly wash myself during our stay. After travelling and spending the day at an event, being unable to shower or wash properly left me feeling dirty, uncomfortable and genuinely disgusted. To make matters even worse, the toilet in our room wouldn't flush. We then tried to use the public toilets on the ground floor, only to find that they were sodden with human waste and absolutely stank. They were in such an appalling and unhygienic condition that they were barely usable. When we raised the water problems with the hotel, we were told that the issue was Severn Trent's fault and that it was affecting every building in the local area. However, I personally went to the pub directly across the street from the hotel, and their water was functioning normally. This made the explanation we were given particularly difficult to understand. Even if the underlying water issue was caused by Severn Trent, that is not my responsibility as a paying customer. My booking was with the hotel, not Severn Trent. It is the hotel's responsibility to deal with the water company and, more importantly, to make appropriate arrangements for its guests when essential facilities are unavailable. As a customer, I paid the Crowne Plaza to provide me with a safe, clean and functioning hotel room with basic human facilities. Those facilities were not provided. I couldn't safely wash my hands. I couldn't properly wash myself because the bath tap didn't work.
We did enjoy our weekend in Stratford, and our bedroom was a very good size, with blackout curtains, lovely carpeting, and very comfortable bed.
On arrival, receptionist politely apologised for possible lack of cold water, as there was a problem of supply around Stratford Upon Avon, however we noted that lack of water pressure was negatively commented on by other reviewers back in May and July 2026, so it felt like the receptionist was told to lie to us, so we expected this to improve during our stay - why is water pressure a continuing problem in a large hotel, when no other establishment we attended has this problem during our long weekend? We could just about shower and flush our toilet, but this really wasn’t good enough for a 4 star hotel. We also had to ask twice for teaspoons(!). We didn’t have any when we first arrived on the Friday evening, but didn’t need to make a drink so didn’t say anything. However, when our room was cleaned both on the Saturday and Sunday mornings, this wasn’t automatically rectified and we had to ask twice for them on the Sunday. Not a massive problem, but a sign that attention to detail is missing, as we need teaspoons to make hot cups of tea! I called down to reception to ask, and it took several attempts to speak to someone, but when we returned to the hotel 5 minutes beforehand, there wasn’t a queue at reception keeping staff busy. I spotted that there was rubbish on the floor under the bathroom sink on our 1st night - this should have been cleaned up before we checked in. We noticed lots of bottles and litter around the hotel, as well as cleaning cloths on the floor by bedrooms, and ceiling panels open. All signs of bad maintenance. One of the two lifts stopped working on the Saturday night and wasn’t repaired by Monday morning, meaning only 1 lift for hundreds of rooms.
Bra läge för bilisten.
Plågsamt varmt på rummen utan AC i värmeböljan. Första rummet var inte städat, men personalen i receptionen trevlig och hjälpsam.
It was a very pleasant stay - Thank You to all the staff who made it so.
What I 'didn't like' is quite strong, it is more a small observation - We did ask for twin beds and although our beds could have been separated, they weren't. It wasn't an issue though as the beds were quite spacious and we didn't feel the need to have them separated.
Central to the theatre great bar in the evening and great breakfast, will book again
Bathroom not the best
Not clean in places
Only location is good rest is terrible.
Too expensive but you wait around 30 minutes to check in. Bathroom water pressure is awful, you can’t wash your hand at sink because tap is ridiculously placed. You can’t wash hear noise from next room. You wait too much for elevator.
We and our family and our guests who were booked to stay for my son’s wedding enjoyed the excellent hospitality and wonderful experience by the GM Robin and the staff.
La cama y temperatura perfecto
Nos quedamos a las 09:00 de la noche sin poder tirar de la cadena y ducharnos
Happy staff, clean room and good breakfast. The hotel is very convenient for the town and theatre. Good parking.
Hotel was nice and clean and comfortable.
Shower pressure wasn’t great
Great location. Nice staff.
Air con not in use for maintenance. Shower head didn't fit into connector.
Breakfast excellent. Location good
Bathroom maybe needs updating. Shower pressure poor
The location is perfect for visiting main attractions. The grounds are amazing with plenty of seats that are comfortable to sit outside and admire the river avon on your doorstep. The breakfast caters for everyone with lots of selections . Fresh and remained topped up. Very clean restaurant with attentative staff. Comfortable seating. The gentleman who greets you as you enter the restaurant is absolutely fabulous and reminded me of how hotel staff used to be.
There was a problem with the lockers in changing rooms. A lot didnt work.
Good location
Room 3063 hardly any water pressure in bathroom also got the air con to work but didn’t really feel it for some reason
Excellent
Location and facilities really good.
Found it difficult to get clear answer re restaurant costs in advance.
Great breakfast lots of choice. Hotel is in a great location Very clean
As a regular visitor to the R S H theatre my wife and I have stayed at many times from B&Bs to some top rated Hotels and THE CROWNE PLAZA is the best for location ease and efficient booking in and out parking is charged at a fixed price if it is overnight stay you can leave your car their for 24hrs, breakfast first class I would say best and the choice We could not fault Well done
We have nothing to complain about
Location, staff breakfast
The price of the drinks, £27 for two glasses of wine was a once only experience
The room was very spacious, with a big, very comfortable bed, a desk and chair, a sofa, coffee and tea station, fridge, soap, shampoo, lotion, etc. It was close to the theatre we had to go to, the staff was very friendly, and check out was very easy. I wish we stayed longer to enjoy the amenities such as the pool and the gym.

dining room and food excellent. All staff exceedingly helpful and pleasant.
Shower pressure far too low. Room had no drawers for personal belongings such as underwear, socks. Pool temperature too cold and ladies changing area had no private changing facilities. Area generally in need of an upgrade
Good breakfast. Lovely staff. Very efficient.Nice rooms. Location very central.
Had to wait a very long time for check in due to a large wedding booking in- needed more reception staff. The music on the night of the wedding was too noisy. Room was vibrating and it went on until quite late.
Private lounge was amazing
