The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our adult Son who has special needs but stayed by himself in a separate room was treated very respectfully. Thank you to all.

Comfortable room and great food

Great location, felt very safe, welcoming staff.

This was the perfect overnight stop before the ferry crossing, it was clean, great Indian Buffet, super friendly staff, a great sleep.

Great location for the ferry to Calais, very helpful staff, lovely room, good facilities with fridge, tea & coffee etc, nice food for room service, nice grounds for our Labrador.

Extra charge for dog was expensive at £25 plus holding a returnable deposit of £100 was not expected on check in.

Schnell erreichbar und gute Lage, direkt an der Schnellstraße nach Canterbury.

Das Bad war sehr klein und nur mit Badewanne , wenig Abstellfläche. Im Vergleich sind die Bäder in den Holiday Inn Express, aus unserer Sicht , besser. Das Restaurant ist teuer und qualitativ nicht sehr gut. Manche Mitarbeiterin sollte sich fragen, ob sie den richtigen Job ausübt.

Personeel zeer vriendelijk, top! Ontbijt was Engels. Niet zo mijn ding. Kon echter met het aangebodene ruimschoots vooruit. Bedden ruim voldoende. Matrassen behoeven aandacht. Badkamer is wat klein.

Badkamer kan groter. Naast Engels ook meer continentaal ontbijt serveren.

Hot breakfast good. Cold buffet breakfast included hams that were overlapping showing different colour indicative of meat that had been left.out exposed to air for.over 24 hours. Not good and we avoided the cold hams.

The staff weren’t very friendly, we had a wedding to go to so we were time bound and ideally needed to check in a bit early (there was 4 of us staying, with two rooms). I totally understand that it was early, it was just dismissed and there was very little understanding.

Die Zimmer sind vom Flur sehr laut und das Badezimmer könnte moderner sein.

​I am an IHG One Rewards member who stayed at Holiday Inn Dover from 16–17 August 2026 (Booking Ref: 28825700). Despite both local hotel management and IHG Corporate acknowledging severe operational and hygiene failures in writing under Corporate Case Ref: 10602064143, they have failed to provide the promised resolution or follow-up within their deadline. ​Key Issues: ​Hygiene & Cleanliness: Discovered a toenail clipping on top of the bed sheets upon arrival, along with stray hairs on both beds, floors, and walls. Housekeeping replaced the linen, but the replacement set also contained stray hairs. ​Room Category & Defective Facilities: Reserved a 1 King Standard with Sofa Bed and Nespresso machine. We were assigned a room with two double beds, a standard kettle, and a non-functioning air conditioning unit that made the bedroom uncomfortably hot. ​Facility Orientation: Staff failed to provide basic guidance regarding hotel amenities at check-in, making it difficult and awkward to locate or access the gym during an ongoing event. ​Billing Disruption & Invoice Refusal: My stay was confirmed as prepaid at check-in with zero issues flagged upon handing in keys at checkout. Two hours later—while actively boarding a ferry—staff repeatedly called demanding immediate payment over the phone. When I requested an emailed invoice so I could verify the charge (as the booking was made months prior in January), staff refused. Without performing proper identity verification, the staff member simply asked "Am I speaking to Russell?", read out the last 4 digits of an old card on file, and insisted on taking card details over the phone. ​Management admitted to these failures in writing, yet no partial refund or loyalty points compensation has been issued. I strongly advise future guests to inspect their rooms thoroughly and double-check billing before leaving.

Customer services was great and the room was okay. I love the food as well.

The fridge was not working which was not really good as we stayed for two nights without cold water to drink. The phone in the room was not working the first night. The toilet does not have the brush to clean the WC after using it.

The hotel is well placed for a stop over for the port of Dover.

Despite having booked a twin room, when we opened the door to our room we found out that it was a double. With my son we returned to the reception where the attendant did not show any interest & attitude was, well it that or nothing. After a 5 & half hour drive, this is not what you would expect from that chain. What we ended doing was for one of us to sleep on the floor as the receptionist gave us some sort of thin mattress as an extra. Totally unacceptable....

Eine gute Lage zum Fährhafen. An das Hotel grenzte ein Park (ohne Schatten) in dem man mit den Hunden spazieren konnte.

Wir mussten für die Hunde 50 Pfund bei Ankunft im Hotel extra zahlen. Diese Kosten waren bei der Hotelbuchung nicht zu erkennen und haben die Preis auf ein Niveau getrieben bei dem ich ein anderes Hotel oder AirBnB in Erwägung gezogen hätte. Auch das wir die Hunde nicht einmal während des Essens im Hotelrestaurant im Hotelzimmer lassen durften, war nicht sehr schön.

Good location and despite having many cars in the car park it didn’t feel busy/noisy.

The only disappointing aspect was the shower - the water dribbled out and was quite poor, but the rest of our stay was good.

Die Ausstattung im Gang zu den Zimmern und auch im genutzten Zimmer selbst wirkt nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Der durchweg herrschende Geruch ist nicht angenehm. Die Beleuchtung im Bad ist sehr hell bis grell und erzeugt eine klinische Atmosphäre. Die Zutaten des Frühstücksbuffets haben teilweise geschmacklich keinen guten Eindruck hinterlassen, bzw. sind von minderer Qualität.

The bed was comfy and the room was large.

Floors were absolutely disgusting stains all on the carpets, the shower was either very low pressure, or boiling hot same as the bathroom tap could not get a decent temperature from them at all.

I booked as a stop off before catching a ferry. We had two standard queen rooms booked but when we checked in we appeared to be in two King rooms which also had a double sofa bed. The rooms were spacious and clean with a good bathroom. As we arrived later than expected we ate at the hotel that night, as well as having breakfast the next morning. The food and service was very good.

We had messaged the hotel to have a cot in one of the rooms and this was confirmed. This was not there on arrival but, as it happened, the two year old was happier sleeping in the sofa bed. Car parking would normally be simple but that evening there was an event being held and so spaces were limited. Although close to the ferry port traffic can be heavy and leave at least an hour to get there - at least that was our experience.

Close to the ferry terminal, great staff very polite and friendly. Nice food too.

Fine hotel near the ferry, extensive breakfast, friendly people behind a well-stocked bar.

The dinner and breakfasts were good but after staying at several Holiday Inns repetitive.

We were staying on a Saturday night and a wedding was being held in the hotel. Not the hotels fault but banging doors all night and barking dog. On my bed the topper needed replacing as all the filling had bunched up. Took the topper and shook it which helped so sleep was terrible. Sunday night was quieter.

Il y avait une fête à l'hôtel et de la musique jusque vers minuit. Nous étions épuisés et ́nous aurions aimé pouvoir dormir. C'est un bon hôtel, mais nous aurions aimé être prévenus. Si nous avions su, nous aurions réservé ailleurs. En temps normal, c'est sûrement très bien.

Er was een evenement gepland voor die avond. We werden daarvoor pas gewaarschuwd bij het inchecken. Niet tijdens het boeken. Onze reservering was niet terugbetaalbaar, dus er zat weinig anders op. Het lawaai was verschrikkelijk en duurde veel te lang.

The location was amazing, rooms were excellent, food was delicious and staff were exceptional!

Easy to reach, food was ok.

They hosted a wedding ceremony with DJ and loud music until 11pm. After that there was still a lot of noise and our children and dog couldn’t sleep. We had a bad night.

Wonderful breakfast and loved the buffet style system as it was fast to self serve and also very fresh and tasty. Brilliant variety of options too. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Parking was very easy. Would definitely stay again.

Selection at breakfast wad really good particularly the real greek yoghurt. Egga cooked to order. It was one of the best breakfast in a hotel that I have had. Pet freindly good dog walking near hotel.

Morgenmaden var god, men kunne godt have ønsket mig mere forskelligt ost og brød. Seng var god at sove i. Beliggenhed er ok. Dejligt nemt at finde og plads til gratis parkering. Rengøring var også tilfredsstillende.

Perfekte und absolut ruhige Lage in der unmittelbaren Nähe (7-10 Autominuten) zum Fährhafen. Ein umfangreiches Frühstücksbuffet und ein nettes Restaurant sind vorhanden. Parkplätze sind kostenlos und in ausreichender Menge vorhanden.

Das Hotel ist ebenerdig aber trotzdem nicht vollständig Barrierefrei weil einzelne Zimmergruppen nur über Stufen erreichbar sind.
