Heerlijke plek. De kamer was heel gezellig en de locatie lekker rustig, maar toch dichtbij de boot. Ook lekker gegeten, sfeer is heel gemoedelijk. Vriendelijke service, ontbijt is speciaal iets eerder voor ons klaargezet vanwege vertrektijd boot.

In a nice part of Dover away from the main drag, that was required for one night. The staff for brilliance, and people drinking in the pub actually very friendly. I really good time and would go back.

Ich habe selten eine so extrem verwahrloste Unterkunft erlebt, wie das Zimmer, was man uns angeboten hat. Der gesamte Aufenthalt war gelinde gesagt katastrophal. Das kleine Zimmer machte den Eindruck, als hätte man im Dachboden einfach ein Bett reingestellt - und das war es. Überall Ungeziefer, Spinnweben, Staub. Vielleicht ist das Zimmer auch einfach seit langer Zeit nicht mehr vermietet worden. Aber so einen ungemütlichen Zustand habe ich lange nicht erlebt. Dafür war der Preis mit über 150 Euro für die Nacht massiv überteuert. Dazu kam noch, dass der Code zu unserem Zimmer und dem Hauseingang nicht funktionierte, auch nicht mithilfe des Personals. Letzteres war allerdings freundlich und bemüht. Dennoch: Das Royal Oak wird uns tatsächlich nicht mehr wiedersehen.

Sehr schönes Zimmer. Zwar klein aber gemütlich. Es fehlte an nichts. Der Pub unten ist ein echtes Plus.

Wir waren auf der Anreise noch Cornwall und 14 Tage später im Royal Oak. Die Zimmer befinden sich direkt im Orts-Pup der sehr gemütlich und gut besucht war. Dort gab es etwas zu essen und auch tolle Getränke.

Die Zimmer sind sehr unterschiedlich. Erst hatten wir ein sehr kleines Zimmer. Für größere Personen nicht geeignet.

Frühstück war okay , aber sehr unpersönlich und ungemütlich im dunklen Teil des Pubs, man fühlt sich bisschen verloren und allein gelassen und kühl untergebracht in einer Ecke des Abends belebten Pubs. Gibt auch wenig im Vergleich zu anderen B& B ..z.B Joghurt und Früchte..

Es war sauber und man hat durchaus versucht das Zimmer nett auszustatten.

Es war abartig klein. Das Waschbecken so winzig, dass man sich schier nicht waschen konnte. Das Bett stand vor dem Fenster, so dass man es richtig nicht öffnen konnte. Die Bewertungen, dass es trotz Pubbetrieb ruhig sei, stimmt definitiv nicht. Es war bis halb 2 halligalli … . Mit geschlossen Fenster zu schlafen war in dem kleinen Raum unmöglich. Bei offenem Fenster hatte man das Gefühl, dass die Autos durchs Zimmer fahren.

Heel aardige dame die B&B runt. In het Café kun je ook lekker eten. Van het evt. geluid hoor je op de kamer helemaal niets. Zou het zo weer boeken.

Sehr schnuckeliger, kleiner Pub mit guter Küche. Durch den Pub war allerdings die Nachruhe etwas gestört, dazu kam noch das extrem kleine Bett, zu schmal für zwei Erwachsene. Aber für eine Nacht kann man das mal aushalten.😅

Klein und gemütlich mit tollem Flair und sehr freundlichem Personal. Gutes Frühstück.

Le foto della camera prenotata (Matrimoniale deluxe) non corrispondevano alla camera assegnata (per la struttura, camera numero 3). La struttura di appoggio per il ritiro della colazione grab&go era chiusa al momento dell’arrivo (ore 22:00, con possibilità di check-in fino alle 00:00. Sarebbe stato opportuno segnalare gli orari visto che il servizio era stato richiesto in anticipo, o lasciare il sacchetto in camera). Sarebbe inoltre opportuno segnalare che la camera si raggiunge con una scala molto ripida e stretta e che l’altezza interna della camera è molto bassa rispetto agli standard abitativi.

Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß und schön eingerichtet. Besonders positiv waren die große Dusche und das geräumige, ansprechend gestaltete Badezimmer.

Leider gab es einige Mängel: An den Fensterrahmen war schwarzer Schimmel zu sehen. Aufgrund von Rost im Inneren habe ich den Wasserkocher nicht benutzt. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung, allerdings sehr klein und einfach gehalten. Zudem waren die Frühstückszeiten bei Booking.com ab 7 Uhr angegeben, tatsächlich begann das Frühstück erst um 8 Uhr. Unangenehm war außerdem, dass nach 21 Uhr an die Zimmertür geklopft wurde, um die Bezahlung zu klären, obwohl wir bereits schlafen wollten. Der Check-in erfolgte kontaktlos über einen Code und ohne Personal vor Ort. Eine Information darüber, wie bzw. wann die Zahlung erfolgen sollte, hatten wir nicht erhalten. Die späte Nachfrage kam daher überraschend. Insgesamt finde ich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht angemessen und hatte mehr erwartet.

Die Unterkunft ist deutlich überteuert. Das Zimmer war sehr eng und wirkte etwas heruntergekommen.

Location was spot on for getting into town. Coding for the room rather than having a key was a brilliant idea. Being able to park off road, and a restaurant/breakfast included

Convenient stop over for Dover, comfortable bed, smart shower. A tasteful refurbishment.

Just felt slightly chaotic, room was quite noisy to the road and small. Parking was tight and breakfast ( our choice was continental) lacked variety.

Sehr kleiner und enger Parkplatz. 1 Ladesäule mit nur 7 KW. Preis sehr hoch für den Komfort. Türen sehr laut, müssten mit Schließmechanismen abgestoppt werden. Sehr schmales Bett mit nur einer Bettdecke

Uncomfortable mattress Couldn't flush toilet in the morning Food: Chicken Tikka portion size too small, husband was left rather hungry. My Scampi were mushy. Breakfast: coffee machine coffee was lukewarm. No fresh orange juice as advertised, we were served an orange squash.....I questioned the lovely lady providing the breakfast who said that they don't serve fresh OJ. I could purchase a fresh one.....she had addressed this issue before with her boss without success. As the breakfast is included in the room price it would appear that we have to be happy with what we're given.....

It was welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had an early start on one day so they cooked breakfast earlier than advertised.

A fantastic find for us when we wanted to stay for one night before getting the ferry to Calais. We even joined in the quiz in the pub below. Friendly staff and v comfy bed

Erg vriendelijk personeel. Lekker ontbijt in een originele pub. Kamer was voorzien van een mooie badkamer en er was een hoek met koffie en thee. Ideale locatie voor een vroege oversteek met de ferry naar Calais.

De kamer was erg warm door een paar hete dagen. Geen airco. En met het raam open slapen was rumoerig vanwege de uitgang van de pub. Al met al zijn we een ervaring rijker.

The location was perfect for us visiting relatives. The decor was lovely modern country pub. Friendly staff and good breakfast to start the day.

Stairs were really steep which my husband found difficult. Central light fittings in bedrooms I felt were too big. And the bathroom ceiling needs looking at in room 2 as the wallpaper was coming down by the shower .

All the staff were most helpful and very welcoming as well as hard working. The area of River was just so delightful. The locals were all very friendly.

Die Zimmer waren einfach unglaublich süß, schön gepflegt und einfach zauberhaft!

Die Treppen zu den Zimmern waren ein wenig eng und es war an manchen Abenden nicht ganz so einfach in die City zu kommen. Das ändert aber nichts daran, dass das Hotel sowie das Personal einfach toll waren!

The Breakfast was a full English Breakfast Plenty of food !

The location is fantastic, close to the ferry terminal yet away from the noise and bustle! I slept extremely well! The night before, I asked the lady at the bar if I could take my breakfast to go, and she happily obliged! It was ready at my door this morning!

Handige locatie voor een eerste overnachting naar aankomst in Engeland. 's avonds nog de kliffen van Dover bekeken. Gezellige pub met 5 hotelkamers. Wel kruipt door om naar kamer te komen, daarom de koffers maar in de auto gelaten.

Je kunt niet alle dagen eten in de pub.

Cosy rooms above a nice pub, small room but super comfy, shower was great and bed was great, we slept 9 straight hours. Breakfast was generous.

Bathroom was small but correct, and bed was placed in front of window so no view.

Room was compact but had everything we needed. Location was great, staff were friendly and helpful.

Doors had electronic locks which worked randomly and involved a lot of hand waving. Our room was located by the entrance door which banged loudly every time someone entered or left which was annoying and could have been easily rectified.

Uitstekende bereikbaarheid en dicht bij de ferry. Goed ontbijt en bedden. Heerlijke douche. Enige nadeel vonden wij was de incheck methode. Gaat middels een code op de deur, die werkte bij ons niet. Personeel wel meteen bereid om ons te helpen. 's avonds nog gegeten in het restaurant. Eenvoudig maar van goede kwaliteit.

Such a lovely village location. Great find. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout. Clean and well presented. Beautiful bathroom. We got invited to join the quiz as we had booked a meal. Lovely evening. Great breakfasts. Would definitely go back.

Just a few tweaks. The electronic door code was temperamental. The original wooden sash window in the bathroom was rotting from the moisture - needs a proper carpenter to replace it. A couple more coat hangers would have been handy. Car park is small and tight. No problem for my tiny car but something to note if guests have bigger cats that need to be on the street.

Das Hotel hat eigene Parkmöglichkeiten und ist knapp 10min zum Fährhafen entfernt. Das Personal ist freundlich und gibt sich Mühe. Wenn man ab 23Uhr schlafen möchte ist die Unterkunft charmant, wenn man früher Ruhe sucht, eher ungeeignet. Trotz geschlossener Küche wurde mir eine Pizza gemacht.

Am Tag meiner Buchung war im Pub eine geschlossene Gesellschaft, 70.Geburtstag/Hochzeit. Es war Live-Musik zu der man selbst im Zimmer tanzen konnte-aber zur Ruhe kommen war unmöglich. An solchen Tagen vielleicht keine Buchungen über booking anbieten.

Nous sommes arrivés tard (21h) et voulions dîner au pub de l'hôtel. L'équipe nous a appelé pour dans la voiture pour que nous puissions commander avant la fermeture de la cuisine. Nous avons pu dîner chaud malgré l'heure tardive, c'était top ! Sinon, les chambres étaient très confortables et cosy. Nous prenions le Shuttle tôt le lendemain matin et en 20 minutes nous étions sur place, c'était très pratique.

Ein kleines Hotel nur 5 Zimmer in einem alten Haus. Die Zimmer sind klein aber praktisch und komfortabel. Im Haus ist auch ein Pup. Gute Stimmung, gutes Essen. Das Frühstück war einfach aber ausreichend. Die Lage war für uns optimal nur 15 min nach Dover.

Heel vriendelijke uitbaters en medewerkers! We mochten onze 12 fietsen gewoon in de pub stallen tijdens onze overnachting (wij waren de enige gasten). Sympathiek verblijf dat er alles aan doet om het naar je zin te maken. Alleen jammer dat we het diner misten (op zondag slechts tot 17u. en daar waren we te laat voor. We konden gelukkig nog heerlijke pizza bestellen). Kleine, maar charmante kamers met voldoende comfort.

The restaurant was not open because there was a private function on. The private function was a wedding party which had a band and very loud guests shouting and singing , right below our room. I wish we would have been informed. We had to find somewhere to get dinner which was not easy because we arrived quite late.

This could have been a very nice stay, since the room was nice and clean and seemed to have been recently renovated BUT we could not sleep because of the insane amount of air freshener used in the room. We unplugged the dispenser, aired the room for hours, but the pungent vanilla scent had permeated every fiber in the room. My husband and I both felt sick because of it!!

Location was brilliant for us as we were going from dover to dunkirk, we only stayed 1x night; so everything was good for us.

The single most friendly group of people we came across the whole trip. Rarely are the accommodations such a highlight, but the Royal Oak was fantastic.

It was extremely small, and the stairs are very narrow, I know its an old building but it wasnt stated on website, as a disabled lady I found it very difficult. Parking was hard too
