Zeer net losstaand appartement. Schoon nieuw modern gewoon een lekkere plek om een nacht door te brengen.

Alles was keurig. Koffie thee en zelfs koekjes erbij. Goede bedden, badkamer perfect. Ontbijten kan vanaf 9 uur maar moet je eerder weg dan geven ze je avonds een tasje met sap, choco broodje, appel, yogurt. Prima geregeld naar mijn idee.

Wir waren wegen der guten Lage (15 Minuten zur Fähre in Dover) 2024 erstmals in The Lydden Bell gelandet. Seitdem nutzen wir diese Unterkunft immer wieder gerne für eine Nacht vor/nach der Überfahrt. Man ist in kleinen seperaten Häuschen untergebracht, die Umgebung ist dörflich/ruhig. Das Personal ist sehr nett, das Frühstück klasse und wer will kann im dazugehörigen Pub noch ein Bier oder etwas leckeres zu essen bekommen.

Nettes Pub wenige Kilometer hinter Dover, ideal für einen Zwischenstopp nach oder vor der Fährüberfahrt. Wir hatten ein sehr großes schickes Familienzimmer, das fast an eine Ferienwohnung erinnerte. Es gab sogar einen Außensitzplatz. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Das Frühstück im Pub und das Essen abends waren toll. Wir würden gerne wieder hier übernachten.

Sehr schöne, gemütliche und ausgesprochen saubere Unterkunft mit viel britischem Charme. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das außergewöhnlich freundliche und herzliche Personal – wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an wirklich willkommen gefühlt. Dazu kommt der tolle Pub mit hervorragendem Essen. Für uns war es der perfekte Start in unseren Englandurlaub.

Eigentlich gab es für uns nichts zu beanstanden. Wenn überhaupt, dann nur, dass wir leider nur eine Nacht geblieben sind.

De kamer bleek een klein huisje te zijn. Lekker ruim, nieuw, schoon en super fijne bedden. Een eigen zitje buiten, ook heel fijn.

Heerlijk kamer, netjes, schoon, ruim. Elektrische oplaadpunt werd voor ons vrijgehouden. Lekker eten in de pub met erg vriendelijk personeel!

Sehr sauber! Frühstück erst ab 9 Uhr, wenn man eine frühe Fähre (ca 15 Minuten Fahrt) gebucht bekommt man am Abend eine Frühstückstasche gepackt!

Lovely pub with a nice feel to it. Well located for our ferry the next morning. The staff were lovely and food in the pub was very tasty. We left before breakfast was served so were given a take away breakfast. Our room was nice and well equipped.

The only criticisms would be the quality of the bed, it was noisy and breakfast was too late for us

Die Lage in der Nähe zu Dover ist perfekt - aber die Unterkunft hat noch viel mehr zu bieten. Landschaftlich wunderbar umgeben von Feldern und Kühen. Ein urgemütliches Pub mit hochwertigem Essen. Die Unterkunft ist stylisch und großzügig eingerichtet. Es gab sogar einen Frühstücksservice für Gäste, die früh auf die Fähre müssen. Perfekt. Wir kommen wieder!

The property was lovely and the accommodation was comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and cheerful. A great location for visiting local attractions.

De kamer was mooi ingericht, gezellige pub en heerlijk eten. Zowel diner als ontbijt. Heel vriendelijke medewerkers.

Het was ontzettend warm in de kamer, er kon een heel klein raampje open maar dit was niet voldoende voor een 5 persoons kamer. Daarom de deur maar open gezet. Kamer voor 5 is met kleine kids misschien groot genoeg, maar voor 3 pubers te klein. Inschattingsfout van onze kant, kon de accommodatie niks aan doen.

Room had everything we needed & was clean. Staff friendly & great location 10 mins from port of Dover.

Disappointed breakfast wasn't served earlier as we had 10.15 ferry to catch so had to miss out on our sit down breakfast. We were offered a breakfast bag the evening before which contained yogurts but we had no way of keeping them cool overnight as no fridge in our room so they ended up in the bin. Also had a carton of porridge oats each but again no fridge in the room so no milk so that also went in the bin. So basically we ended up with a couple of cereal bars & an orange 🤨

A delightful pub with the most charming rooms in an adjoining barn conversion. Great food, superb breakfast and a special thanks to the owners who gave us a lift to Sheperds Well to continue our walk along the Via Francigena.

Really lovely room. Self contained, private, modern and comfortable. Great little outdoor table too. Staff were lovely. They were friendly and helpful and breakfast was really good.

My only small gripe is the amount of cobwebs in the property. I do understand that the ceiling is high in the room and it’s summer (so lots of bugs) but there were quite a lot of cobwebs with dead bees etc in. There was a lot of cobwebs on the outside of the door of our room and I think it would just look even better if these were brushed away.

Wifi was a bit flakey, TV channels not great reception, lots of breaking up and pixellating and with no mobile signal in Lydden (this is obviously not hotel's fault) you sort of ended up a bit cut off from the world... which could be a good thing if you're just trying to get away from it all.

De bijbehorende pub en het eten daar waren goed. Ook het personeel was vriendelijk. Meer positiefs kan ik er niet over melden.

De kamer is een vierkante ruimte met een klein smal raampje op ooghoogte en een smal tweepersoons bed. Het spijt me te moeten zeggen dat het een claustrofobisch hok is. Bovendien was het er heet, vies en stoffig, zodat we eerst maar eens schoon zijn gaan maken. Het voordeel dat er een eigen toegangsdeur naar buiten is wordt tenietgedaan doordat er daar een parkeerplaats is vol met auto's en in ons geval met twee grote campers vlak voor onze kamerdeur. Niet bepaald gezellig dus. De inrichting kan nog niet heel oud zijn, maar de douchekraan werkt niet goed ( het water blijft heet) en de wastafelkraan gaat heel zwaar open en dicht. Moeilijk douchen en wassen dus in de Lydden Bell. Wij vonden het de ca. € 175 per nacht die ervoor wordt gevraagd lang niet waard en we hebben de nodige ervaring met andere Engelse hotels. Wij zullen nooit meer in de Lydden Bell komen, hoewel het personeel vriendelijk was.

Wir waren schon zum zweiten Mal hier und sind wieder begeistert. Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut gelegen und ausgestattet. Das Essen im angeschlossenen Pub ist sehr gut.

De ligging tussen Canterbury en Dover en het heerlijke eten in de pub. De gastvrijheid van het personeel. Er werd geregeld dat het ontbijt om 9.00 uur klaar was vanwege de vertrektijd van de ferry.

Er is geen airco in de kamer.

Ein wirklich schönes kleines Hotel und Pub. Das Essen und Frühstück waren sehr gut und die Zimmer ebenfalls. Die Menschen dort sind überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Es gibt wirklich nichts negatives zu erwähnen.

Location ideal proximity to Dover ferries, we had a packed breakfast because we had an early ferry. The breakfast was superb. We also had an evening meal when we arrived which was excellent.

Lots of steps up and down to our room, not all rooms are like this.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft. Das essen im Inn ist sehr gut. Da wir am nächsten Morgen sehr früh ( um 8 Uhr losfahren mussten) konnten wir leider nicht mehr frühstücken ( das gibt es erst ab 9 Uhr) . Wir bekamen ein schönes Paket am Abend, das wir am Morgen auf der Terrasse noch einnehmen konnten.

The pub itself is excellent, and the food is also very good. The amenities in the room were first class. An upright tower fan was provided which was a lifer saver in the extremely hot weather.

Like all properties in the area, we thought the room over priced at £150 for one night. Our room was a chalet style apart from the pub, and we found it to be quite small. The bed gave both of us a horrendous back ache in the morning.

The room was basic but had everything needed.

I think that having such a high up shelf above the bed means the ornaments placed there were really dusty so it would be better not to have these if access is difficult for the cleaner as it creates a bad impression of what overall was a clean room.

The location is excellent and very close to the ferry port. The inclusive parking is also a great feature. The room and bed was comfortable and room very clean. Tea and coffee facilities most welcome.

We had an early ferry on the Saturday morning after our stay and therefore used the breakfast to go option. The breakfast service doesn't start until 09:00. It was not really clear on booking.com that breakfast was not available until that time.

Staff were all very friendly, capable and cared about offering great service. Standards were very high from all staff members we encountered. Everything was clean and well presented. The traditional old English pub seemed very well cared for. Our breakfast bags for our early getaway were all great. The food & drinks were absolutely fantastic, enjoyed by our whole party and great value for money in this day and age. An absolutely fantastic stop over for our European adventures, and one I'd be confident staying at again, and recommending to my friends and customers.

My Mum was in our party, who is massively short sighted/blind, and she's also pretty deaf, so the menu on the wall was a bit of a struggle for her. A QR code on the table for a menu would be a help for her (or for me to sort that to show her lol). But I LIKED that, so you're never going to please everyone! We also have a campervan, and I'd love the option to stay there in the campervan.

This is the most relaxing authentic little gem in the English countryside. Perfect location for touring Kent or just listening to sheep across the street. Be sure to eat in the pub. You’ll be so glad you did! Fantastic food. Wonderful friendly efficient staff. We couldn’t be happier we stayed

Small cabins within 50 M of the road into Dover and your below road height with passing transport during the night. Our bedding had to be changed on arrival. Landlady said it was down to a soiled batch of laundry from the cleaners but it very much appeared to us it has not been changed after other guests. In the upside the bar staff ladies were very friendly and we were given a free drink each whilst we waited for bedding change over.

Everything from the location to Dover and cruise terminal to the staff and the actual accommodation. It was lovely to sit in the beer garden at night with a glass of wine taking in the ambiance. The breakfast was also excellent. We would have no hesitation staying again.

Het volledige plaatste klopte: mooie, groene omgeving. Mooi rustiek pand met pub en restaurant - oerbrits! Kamers zijn aparte gîtes, mooi ingericht en met alle comfort. Het eten is voortreffelijk: klassiekers maar met een gastronomische meerwaarde. Heel vriendelijk en behulpzame uitbaters en medewerkers. Gewoonweg top!

Room could have been cleaned with a greater attention to detail. Some fixtures and fittings showing wear and tear.

We travel up from gillingham to attend a wedding. Staff were very helpful and acommandating. Had our room available ,when we arrived earlier than booked in. Excellent stay,and well priced. Plenty of room to park,and only metres away from accommodation. Food and breakfast Excellent. Would highly recommend the Lydden bell.

One and only grumble was no fridge in room ,to keep water cool drinks etc,on the hottest weekend of the year in may,just me being picky!.

Schitterende locatie in een groene, rustige omgeving. Oerbrits kader met gezellige pub. Keuze uit continentaal of full English ontbijt - zondermeer uitstekend! Diner was pure klasse - traditionele gerechten, maar bijzonder lekker en mooi geserveerd. Complimenten aan de chef. Mooie en verzorgde kamers met alle comfort en privé terras. Grote tuin waar het aangenaam verpozen was.

The location. The pub is well positioned between Dover and Canterbury. The breakfast. Lots of choice, good service and very tasty. The staff were helpful and pleasant. Dimmable bedside lamps. Car park.

The bedroom was small. The WiFi did not work for our 2 day stay. We realise we were in the countryside, but when the hotel details say good WiFi in rooms, that's what you should have. The bed was a bit hard for me, but that is a personal choice. There needs to be blackout blinds or curtains, as the light shines through the existing blinds as soon as the sun rises.

Onze hybride auto konden we voor 20 pond aan de lader koppelen terwijl we maar een klein beetje nodig hadden. Het vak bleef de rest van de avond en nacht leeg en hebben we verderop in een dorp onze auto kunnen laden. Niet servicegericht.

Breakfast didn't start until 9am. This is too late for people catching a ferry about 10am. We were given a breakfast bag, but would really have preferred to have gone into breakfast about 8.30am

Great location for the channel tunnel crossing. Beautifully appointed rooms and very comfortable. The Lydden Bell bar and restaurant served excellent food for both evening meal and breakfast. The staff were really personable and created a great atmosphere for the guests. Second stay here and will definitely stay again.

The Pub was fab, lovely country pub style and very clean .just for once the tables didnt have that horrible "sticky" feel . they were smooth and dry . All the food was lovely , great variety too. Staff excellent and Guiness was great . Location for Dover port was spot on ( and Lydden Circuit) . Scenic setting . Room was good and nice and warm , bed comfy .

Lovely warm welcome from staff and great accomodation, we stayed 2 nights whilst attending the Rally Cross championships. The pub is in a beautiful quiet location, we had a lovely room with a very comfy bed. Ate in the pub both nights which was great value and lovely food.
