Good staff,nice lounge and reception.

Room dated. Bathroom cleanliness was lacking as floor had hair remnants on arrival Stairs down to the room floor, with no apparent lift. The room didn't have direct USB charge points. Being charged extra for a car parking space.

Should be clearer on booking.com that pets are not allowed.

Parking charges are unreasonable. By booking a room, it should be free or reduced but added another £16 to our stay! I did know in advance but other options were not available.

I love staying here the hotel is such high quality and staff are amazing.

However heavily disappointed with the adult swim only session between 12-3pm - that was the only time I was able to swim with my kids. I'm not sure why they have decided to allocate a swim only session in the middle of the day- a better idea would be to move it to 5-8pm.

La bière ! Bon petit déjeuner. L'accueil très correct. Chambres avec lits confortables. Les abords de l'hôtel très agréables avec des arbres.

Trop de bruit. Des enfants très bruyants n'ayant aucun respect pour autrui, courant et criant jusqu'à 1 heure du matin. Pas la faute de l'hôtel bien sûr. Puis des sols qui grincent dans la chambre au-dessus de la mienne.

It felt a little churlish to be charged for parking over and above the room cost. I'm sure it used to be included.

My favourite place to stay when visiting family in the area. I stayed once because my usual hotel was full and I’ve always booked here since. The executive rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. I often struggle to sleep away from home but not here! My family love to join me for breakfast and the hotel reception are always happy to add them onto my booking. Looking forward to my next visit.

We couldn’t eat breakfast at the hotel. We are vegan , your offer for continental breakfast which is our preference is abysmal. Other hotels do a much better job

We appreciate the automatic lighting in the hallways and how quiet the place seemed to be. The room and bathroom was clean and well presented. T tiled bathroom floor was especially appreciated in the mad heat outside. The breakfast was generous in spread and the room was light and airy. The staff at breakfast and the staff on the welcome desk were polite.

Not all the lights over the beds worked but we were there staying only once night and it was really late by the time we arrived. My sister is partial sighted and she couldn't see the second towel (it was a twin room) so we asked for another on the way up from breakfast and we were told there should be one in the cupboard. We walked back to room, passing staff cleaning the rooms. My sister immediately looked in the cupboard for the missing towel and on finding it there, she telephoned down to reception to say thanks but we don't need one. Five minutes later, someone knocked on the door and I answered it to a particularly angry woman with a towel, who proceeded to thrust it at me, ranting with something like 'Why didn't you just take from the trolleys in the hall? I had to run all the way from the front!' (note- we were went DOWN the steps to room 101, it wasn't hardly far.) Not very hospitable at all! It would have been helpful if it was pointed out on our arrival that the WIFi code was written in the pouch holding the key cards too...

Beds were surprisingly comfy, nice upstairs and when you walk into the lobby, but then you proceed down into your hotel rooms and it’s very dingy.

Paying for parking. Turning up and finding out it’s £8 to pay for parking on top of staying there surprised me massively, usually a hotels parking is free..

I honestly don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews. Yes, the hotel is a little old-fashioned, but the rooms have everything you need, especially for a business trip. The breakfast was good, the restaurant was convenient, and the gym was a nice bonus. The location is also very convenient, close to Guildford town centre. We didn’t use the parking, so I can’t comment on the parking charges. Would I choose this hotel again? Absolutely yes. I had a comfortable and pleasant stay and would happily return.

No water in the rooms to make a coffee, towels really old, personnel not helpful at all, 6 o’clock in the morning the personnel with no manners calling you “mate” there is nobody to make you coffee. Air conditioning in the room did not work having central air conditioning to make the room absolutely cold.

Staff were (with the exception of the man on the Spa desk on the Sunday morning) super friendly and helpful. Literally everyone was charming, smiley and hospitable. We also enjoyed our dinner - even though the air con was arctic - which we ate in the bar area as the whole restaurant had been booked out for a coach party and a (very loud) party was going on in a function room. Fortunately we could not hear any of it from our lower ground floor room.

The exterior is VERY tired which was a worry when we arrived. Reception has been smartened up which made us feel much better, but our room was tired and a bit shabby. Carpet very worn in places and the bathroom chipped and in need of modernisation. It's a shame but for one night not the end of the world. The beds iin our double 'suite' with sofa bed were very comfortable and our group of three adults slept fine. The sofa bed would not have been great for taller people or for more than one. The spa is also very shabby and tired. Treatment prices were pretty high - prohibitively so - and if I'd booked in looking for a spa experience around the pool I might have been disappointed. We had booked knowing there was a pool to chill out in after a long sponsored walk on the North Downs so it was a shame it was a bit meh.

Another most enjoyable stay at this wonderful hotel. Sahil in bar and restaurant was particularly helpful and professional.

Good location and all looked good from the outside and the main areas were fine. My only gripe was the room and bathroom was very tired, a/c didn’t cool the room down. It was okay, but they definitely do need to spend some money on the bathroom.

Excellent central location. Superb professional service a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.. The rooms were perfect for our stay and the breakfast was very good indeed with friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel was spacious - the bed room, the bar area, the restaurant. They served certain kind of food till late. The location was excellent if you were doing something at the University of Surrey campus.

Pool and changing room is old and worn out. Service in restaurang is slow during lunch time. Breakfast has no vegetable options.

I sadly couldn’t spend more time there or use the Spa facilities. Due to being on a course in the town. I liked the wooden sliding door instead of curtains.

I had a really good stay at Holiday Inn. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel was quiet, so I slept well. The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. Check-in was quick, and everyone was happy to answer any questions I had. The hotel was also in a good location, which made it easy to get around. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely stay here again. I would recommend Holiday Inn to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay.

Proximity of the Hotel to the Cathedral. Rooms were good size and bed was massive.

The room was dirty and tired. The carpet must not have been properly hoovered for years! There were hair everywhere on the floor, it was not nice to walk on the carpet barefooted. The mattress was too hard for my liking.

The hotel is continently located. It is clean, comfortable bed and pillows. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. However it’s the worst WIFI I’ve experienced in a hotel room.

Easy parking, friendly welcome, lovely restaurant, bar and courtyard. Rooms had a/c, decent size and well equipped. Food was lovely and service attentive. Use of the pool included. Staff we came across were all friendly and helpful. My 6 year old said he loved the hotel and asked can we come again.

The hotel, and especially our room, seemed rather tired. The carpet was worn and ripped in our room with no plugs by the bed. It was disappointing to be charged to park at the hotel considering it was 30+ minutes walk from the train station and other public transport - how else are you going to get to the hotel?!

It was walking distance to the social club, which was where I was going. Room was bigger than I expected and bed was really comfortable.

Stayed here recently and had a genuinely good experience from start to finish. The welcome was warm and friendly, and the staff were attentive throughout the stay. The location is convenient, making it easy to get around. Breakfast was good, and having a pool on site was a nice bonus. The room itself was a decent size and the bed was comfy, nothing fancy but perfectly comfortable. Honestly, I can’t fault the experience, everything was exactly as it should be. Would definitely stay again and happy to recommend to others looking for a reliable, well-run hotel in Guildford.

Room was a little tired, flat pillows and lack of shower hat, biscuits in room. Carpet could do with a bit of a freshen up and the shower would be more pleasant with a glass screen rather than a shower curtain

The breakfast staff were brilliant when we had been told the wrong time for breakfast. They got us a cooked breakfast, and anything else we requested, with no fuss. The breakfast manager today (6th July) turned around our view of our stay, after a tricky start. When we arrived on a Friday for a 3 night stay we had been given a twin bed and not a double. We asked to change rooms but were told it wasn’t possible. Then in the bar, the member of staff told me a price for a drink and then it was more at the till. He didn’t explain when I queried it, just huffed and expected me to pay the higher price, which I did. If he had explained why, or acknowledged the mistake and apologised it would have been better. So, a not so good start on Friday evening, but the housekeeping staff and restaurant staff were brilliant and turned around our opinion of the customer service. The rooms were clean and well stocked.

Stayed 2 nights to attend Guilfest. Clean, comfortable, quiet, excellent location for bus service, good value & easy booking and check in/out. Hotel responded to messages and helpful. We did not use the restaurant or amenities so cannot comment on those
